Abstract

English is one of the subjects that has been studied at the elementary to secondary level for many years in Indonesia. One area that must be studied is technical writing skills in English. In the technical writing process in English, there are still many mistakes made by students in Indonesia. So it is very necessary to recognize some common mistakes made by students, to help them improve their teaching and learning strategies in English and improve their learning outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to investigate errors in English technical writing of students at secondary vocational level and the factors that cause these errors. This study focused on errors made by the eleventh grade students of State 10 Vocational High School Jakarta, in their written descriptive text. A total of 30 students were the subjects of this study and they were asked to write descriptive texts. Data is analyzed based on Procedure Analysis This descriptive qualitative study explains and investigates student errors in writing the technique and the causative factors. Research shows that the typical mistakes students make in their writing: the highest place is capitalization with 60 errors (14.67%) and the lowest place is sentence 3 error (0.73%). According to a typical error, the author found the source of the error. The highest place is transfer between languages with 172 errors (42.05%) and the lowest place is a communication strategy with 49 errors (11.98%).

Abstract

AbstractFrom Central Statistics Agency, the total number of primary schools in Indonesia are 147,536 which most of them have not got any good learning outcomes especially in English. This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning method and students' self-confidence in English learning outcomes. This research was conducted on the fourth grade students of Al-Fath Primary School, South Tangerang  Indonesia, with the number of students as many as 4 classes consisting of  96 students, from the population of 120 students. The method used in this research is the experimental method with the design of treatment design by level 2 x 2. The results showed that: 1) English learning result between students who taught using Problem Based Learning method is higher than Expository method, 2) There is interaction effect between Problem Based Learning method with students' self confidence, 3) For students who have high confidence, English learning outcomes taught using the Problem Based Learning method is higher than taught using the  Expository method, 4) For students a low level of confidence, English learning outcomes of students taught using the Problem Based Learning method is lower than the Expository method.AbstrakDari data Badan Pusat Statistik, jumlah sekolah dasar di Indonesia adalah 147.536, sebagian   besar   sekolah tersebut belum mendapatkan hasil pembelajaran yang baik terutama dalam bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini   bertujuan   untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode Problem Based Learning  dan kepercayaan diri siswa terhadap   hasil belajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Al-Fath, Tangerang Selatan, dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 4 kelas yang terdiri dari 96 siswa, dari populasi 120 siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental dengan perancangan desain faktorial level 2 x 2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa:  1) Hasil belajar bahasa Inggris  siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode Problem Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada  yang diajar menggunakan metode Ekspositori,   2) Ada pengaruh interaksi antara metode Problem Based Learning dengan kepercayaan diri siswa,   3) Bagi siswa yang memiliki kepercayaan diri tinggi, hasil belajar bahasa Inggris  yang diajar menggunakan metode Problem Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada menggunakan metode metode Ekspositori, 4) Bagi  siswa   yang   memiliki   tingkat   kepercayaan yang   rendah, hasil   pembelajaran  bahasa Inggris   yang   diajar   menggunakan  metode   Problem   Based   Learning   hasilnya   lebih      rendah daripada yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran Ekspositori. Abstract

Abstract This paper aims to review the changing roles of madrasah in Indonesian education, identify challenges and opportunities of madrasah and examine the adaptability of madrasah to global challenges. Historical and sociological approaches were used in order to understand the changing social and political contexts. It is assumed that the main challenges that madrasah is facing is no longer how to internalize Islamic values within the context of nation state, but how prepare young Muslims to play important roles in the globalizing world by pushing role of information technology. In addition, this paper also discuss how the dynamic of global values challenges and influences the well-established Islamic values. The major finding of the study is that while successful in promoting the idea of nation state through its curriculum and school traditions during the New Order Era in Indonesia, madrasah is currently struggling to adapt to the rapidly growing communication technology, implies that Indonesian government supports technology to increase role of madrasah. Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perubahan peran madrasah dalam pendidikan di Indonesia, mengidentifikasi tantangan dan peluang madrasah dan menguji kemampuan adaptasi madrasah terhadap tantangan global. Pendekatan historis dan sosiologis digunakan untuk memahami konteks sosial dan politik yang berubah. Diasumsikan bahwa tantangan utama yang dihadapi madrasah bukan lagi bagaimana menginternalisasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam konteks negara bangsa, namun bagaimana mempersiapkan pemuda Muslim untuk memainkan peran penting di dunia global dengan mendorong peran teknologi informasi. Selain itu, artikel ini juga membahas bagaimana dinamika nilai-nilai global menantang dan mempengaruhi nilai-nilai Islam yang mapan. Temuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah ketika berhasil mempromosikan gagasan negara dan bangsa melalui kurikulum dan tradisi sekolahnya selama Era Orde Baru di Indonesia, madrasah saat ini berjuang untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan teknologi komunikasi yang berkembang pesat, menyiratkan bahwa pemerintah Indonesia mendukung teknologi untuk meningkatkan  peranan  madrasah. Abstract

AbstrakMasalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa kelas II SDN Curug 01 Kota Depok dalam pembelajaran Tematik. Hal tersebut dikarenakan sistem pembelajaran yang diberikan guru di kelas tersebut masih kurang menarik, sehingga menyebabkan siswa kurang bersemangat dalam mengikuti pelajaran yang diberikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas II SDN Curug 01 Kota Depok dalam pembelajaran Tematik dengan menggunakan media gambar. Metode penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang terdiri dari 2 siklus dan tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara,  dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif menggunakan rumus prosentase (%) data angket untuk melihat keberhasilan penerapan penggunaan media gambar di dalam kelas dalam rangka meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan aktivitas guru dalam mengunakan media gambar pada siklus I diperoleh 74,58%, sedangkan pada siklus II diperoleh 89,58%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas guru dalam usaha meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa serta aktivitas siswa. Dan hasil observasi motivasi belajar siswa terdapat peningkatan dari siklus I diperoleh 72,15% menjadi 85,24% pada siklus II. Hal ini berarti terjadi peningkatan rata-rata motivasi belajar siswa meningkat sebesar 15,09%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang didapatkan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media gambar dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran tematik yang diberikan guru kepada siswa di sekolah tersebut.Kata kunci: media gambar, motivasi belajar, pembelajaran tematik. AbstractThe problem in this study is the low learning motivation of second grade students at State Elementary School (SDN) Curug 01 Depok City in thematic learning. This is because the learning system provided by the teacher in the class is still less attractive, which causes students to be less eager to take part in the lessons. This research was conducted with the aim of enhancing the learning motivation of second grade students at State Elementary School (SDN) Curug 01 Depok City in thematic learning, using image media. This research method is Classroom Action Research which consists of 2 cycles and each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out qualitatively and quantitatively using a percentage formula (%) questionnaire data to see the successful application of the use of media images in the classroom in order to improve student learning motivation. Based on the results of observations of teacher activities in using media images in cycle I obtained 74.16% while in cycle II it was 87.91%. This shows an increase in teacher activity in an effort to increase student motivation and student activity. And the results of observation of student learning motivation there is an increase from cycle I obtained 70.15% to 85.24% in cycle II. This means an increase in the average student learning motivation increased by 15.09%. Based on the results of the research obtained, it can be concluded that the application of learning using image media can improve students' learning motivation in thematic learning had given by the teacher to students at the school.Keywords: picture media, learning motivation, thematic learning.

Abstract

Pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan tertua di Indonesia, dan bahkan pesantren juga memiliki andil yang cukup signifikan dalam perjuangan kemerdekaan Indonesia. Akan tetapi, pesantren tetap harus mengikuti perubahan-perubahan di era ini. Pesantren dituntut untuk tampil dalam persaingan dunia pasar bebas (free market), belum lagi sejumlah perkembangan lain yang terbungkus dalam dinamika masyarakat yang juga berujung pada pertanyaan tentang resistensi (ketahanan), responsibilitas (tanggung jawab), kapabilitas (kemampuan), dan kecanggihan pondok pesantren dalam tuntutan perubahan besar. Oleh karena itu, Pesantren tidak lepas dengan pengelolaan (manajemen) pondok pesantren. Pondok pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan swasta yang memiliki ciri khas yang mandiri, maka ia lebih leluasa untuk dapat mengadakan inovasi dalam rangka mewujudkan relevansi pendidikan dengan perkembangan Iptek, jika pesantren ini dikelola secara profesional dalam bidangnya masing-masing dan didukung oleh manajemen yang tangguh, maka kehadirannya di tengah-tengah masyarakat akan dapat dibanggakan. Sesuatu menarik untuk dikaji dan diteliti secara mendalam kaitannya dengan tipologi dan perkembangan pesantren seperti diuraikan di atas yakni Pesantren Nurul Iman Parung Bogor memiliki perkembangan baru dalam dunia pesantren. Pesantren ini mempunyai keunikan dan karakteristik tersendiri dibandingkan dengan pesantren lainnya yaitu dengan memiliki 3 fokus di dalam pengelolaannya yakni kepependidikan, kepesantrenan, dan wirausaha.Kata Kunci: Manajemen, Pengelolaan, Pesantren

Abstract

SCHOOL ACCREDITATION FUNCTIONS IN INCREASING SCHOOL PRODUCTIVITY. This study aims to determine and analyze the function of school accreditation in increasing school productivity. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive method. This research was conducted at AQL Islamic School. The subject of this research is the Principal/Vice Principal,. The data collection technique of this research is observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that school/madrasah test scores in the last 3 (three) years can be extracted from the average test scores, the AQL Islamic School has increased in the last three years as seen from the average test scores. This is due to the existence of tutoring apart from school, the school affiliates with several well-known tutors. Coupled with the free online tutoring. This is also supported by facilities and infrastructure, one of which is the school facilitating students with a kind of tablet to be able to access or look for things about lessons that have not been completed when studying in class. In addition, extracurricular activities at school also support students for their academic achievements. The existence of clubs such as science club, English club and many more. Then, judging from the public perception of the AQL Islamic School, this school is very good, because this AQL school has a fairly good Islamic base because of the holding of youth mosques. The academic achievements of the AQL Ialamic School itself have had many championships. One of them is in the National Science Competition championship.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out what leadership styles are in the novel Merindu Baginda Nabi. The background of this research is to examine what leadership styles are contained in the novel Merindi Baginda Nabi and how to practice them. The method used in this study is a qualitative type of literature (library research), which is a type of research that refers to the literature of literature such as book literature, articles and e-journals. The results show that there are 9 leadership styles in the novel Merindu Baginda Nabi by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, namely: Supportive Leadership Style, Democratic Leadership Style, Educational Leadership Style, Persuasive Leadership Style, Innovative Leadership Style, Motivative Leadership Style, Charismatic Leadership Style, Fatherly Leadership Style , and Participatory Leadership Style. Because novels can be an educational tool or facility in the process of leadership formation, with novels leaders can learn a lot about leadership styles.

Abstract

Untuk mewujudkan lembaga pendidikan yang bermutu, diperlukan kualitas pengajaran guru yang kompeten. Meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran adalah tujuan utama dari supervisi pendidikan. Akibatnya, penting untuk memilih jenis pengawasan yang menerapkan model yang tepat. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini didapatkan dari berbagai jurnal, buku, dan karya tulis ilmiah lainnya. Teknik analisis data dimulai dari pengumpulan data dari buku dan jurnal kemudian direduksi dengan menelaah seluruh data yang ada kemudian data disajikan dan dibahas, yang terakhir adalah penarikan kesimpulan sehingga menjadi sebuah informasi bagi pembaca. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan ada lima model supervisi pendidikan yaitu model supervisi konvensional, ilmiah, klinik, artistic, dan perspektif Islam. Sebenarnya, supervisi dapat dilakukan melalui strategi-strategi yang harus digunakan supervisor dengan guru. Sesuai dengan kedudukan profesionalnya, supervisi pengajaran memiliki tugas-tugas tertentu.

Abstract

Teacher discipline is the key to the success of educational institutions. In improving teacher discipline, a brave and visionary principal is needed. This study describes the principal's strategy in improving teacher discipline. The location of this research was carried out at SDN 2 Badur, Cirenten Lebak District. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques in this study are through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Activities in data analysis are: data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of the study show that there are 6 principal strategies in improving teacher discipline, namely: motivational strategies, setting an example, making rules, supervising, giving warnings or punishments, and giving rewards.
