Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of  Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model, enhancing critical thinking and students’ learning outcome on archiving. This research is a classroom action research utilizing  qualitative approach consisting of two cycles on students of Office Administration. The subject were students at  one of the vocational school in East Java, using data analysis in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion or verification. The results showed that POE learning model is able to improve students' ability to think on Archiving. The students’ cognitive learning, affective, and psychomotor  also increased as the implementation of learning model. Hence, the POE learning model is effectively used in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors of Transformational Leadership in the Age of Globalization. The research location was conducted at Bosowa University. The technique of collecting data uses observation, interviews, FGD. Data analysis techniques use the theories of Miles, Huberman and Saldana (2014). The results of the study show that the determinant factors in this study can be seen from two factors: university supporting factors and inhibiting factors. Supporting factors: it has been illustrated that the Chancellor as a leader has a network that has been developed both at the local, regional, national and international levels. Furthermore, it is supported by adequate learning process facilities. So as to be able to compete with other universities in Indonesia. The inhibiting factors are the availability of limited teaching staff.

Abstract

The main problem of entrepreneurship education in Indonesia is the mindset of most Indonesian people that the goal of continuing education to higher education to become a civil servant is not to be someone who has an entrepreneurial mentality. Entrepreneurship learning has not been able to change the mind-set of college graduates from finding jobs (job seekers) to creating jobs (job creators). Therefore, the formulation of the problem in this study is, "Is there an influence of entrepreneurial learning on student decision making in entrepreneurship at Makassar State University. This study aims to find out, "The effect of entrepreneurial learning on student decision making in entrepreneurship at Makassar State University. This research is an Explanatory Research with a Survey approach with a population of 654 Makassar State University students who propose a Student Creativity Program (PKM) with a sample of 242 which is done by proportional random sampling technique. Therefore, the formulation of the problem in this study is, "Is there an influence of entrepreneurial learning on student decision making in entrepreneurship at Makassar State University. This study aims to find out, "The effect of entrepreneurial learning on student decision making in entrepreneurship at Makassar State University. This research is an Explanatory Research with a Survey approach with a population of 654 Makassar State University students who propose a Student Creativity Program (PKM) with a sample of 242 which is done by proportional random sampling technique. The technique of collecting data uses observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis using SEM. The results of the study show; "There is a significant effect of entrepreneurial learning on student decision making in entrepreneurship at Makassar State University.

Abstract

Adequate work facilities with suitable conditions that are well maintained and will help smooth the work process in an organization. This study aims to determine the use of work facilities, on the performance of employees in the section of the Regional Financial Management Agency Secretariat of South Sulawesi Province. Therefore, to achieve these objectives researchers used data collection techniques with observation, questionnaires, and documentation with a population of 35 people. While the data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis using percentages and for inferential statistical analysis techniques using data normality tests, product moment correlation analysis, and simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that the work facilities in the section of the South Sulawesi Provincial Financial Management Agency Secretariat are in a good category, in terms of indicators: machinery and equipment, infrastructure, work equipment, land, and buildings. For the quality of employee performance in the section of the South Sulawesi Provincial Financial Management Agency Secretariat in a good category, which is viewed from: quality, quantity, timeliness, effectiveness, and independence. Based on the product moment correlation test analysis, there is a positive and significant influence on the use of work facilities on the performance of employees in the section of the Regional Financial Management Agency of South Sulawesi Province at 17.00%, stated to be accepted with a moderate level of influence. From the results of simple linear regression analysis shows that there is an influence of work facilities on employee performance in the section of the Regional Financial Management Agency Secretariat of South Sulawesi Province.

Abstract

Tourism is a magnet of a region to realise a developing area. This study aims to clarify the role of the Government in the Development of Yendi Beach Tourist Attraction in Biak Numfor Regency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are done through observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The results showed that the role of the Tourism Office in developing Yendi Beach's tourism potential in Biak Numfor District was dominant as a Motivator compared to other roles, namely as a Facilitator and a Dynamicsator. This role as a facilitator is seen mainly in the form of: provision of facilities and infrastructure for tourist attraction objects, which are still largely borne by the Department of Tourism as the leading sector, facilitation in channelling stimulant financial assistance for people who want to develop tourism attractions, promotion of attraction objects tourism, as well as facilitation to third parties, such as investors and tourism entrepreneurs to develop Yendi Beach tourism business in Biak Numfor Regency.

Abstract

In an effort to educate the life of the nation, then one way that can be done is through education. This research aims to determine the implementation of the lecture method use in archival subjects in the Department of Office Vocational School YPLP PGRI 1 Makassar. This research uses qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. Informants in this study were 5 (five) people. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation techniques. The data that has been collected is processed using analytical techniques namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusions or verification. The results showed that the use of lecture methods in archival subjects in the Department of Office SMK YPLP PGRI 1 Makassar, in general, has been well implemented. This is assessed from the three stages in the use of the lecture method, the first is the preparation phase carried out by the teacher before starting the implementation of learning in the classroom which results are categorized as good, the second stage of the implementation starts from the opening step and the presentation step by the teacher when the class is assessed to be running well, and the third step ends/closes the lecture where the results are also considered to be going well. So the use of lecture methods in archival subjects at the Department of Office Vocational School YPLP PGRI 1 Makassar has been implemented well

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of price and service quality on customer satisfaction at PT. Estate Facilities. The method used is explanatory research with analytical techniques using statistical analysis with regression testing, correlation, determination, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study have a significant effect on customer satisfaction by 41.5%, the hypothesis test obtained tcount> ttable or (8.130> 1.986). Service quality has a significant effect on customer satisfaction by 43.1%, the hypothesis test is obtained tcount> ttable or (8,401> 1,986). Price and quality of service simultaneously have a significant effect on customer satisfaction by 52.8%, the hypothesis test is obtained Fcount> Ftable or (51,366> 2,700).

Abstract

The quality of a qualified library makes the library as one of the centers of information for the general public. This study aims to determine how well the quality of library services, to find out how high the interest in reading students, and to determine the effect of the quality of college library services on strengthening the reading interest of students in the Library at the University of Timor Library UPT. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a sample of 100 students. Data collection was carried out through observation, interview, documentation and questionnaire techniques. The data that has been collected is processed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques and inferential statistics. The results showed that the quality of library services at the University of Timor in the border area was in the quite good category with an average of 33.48. Student reading interest is in quite a good category with a mean value of 20, 56. The level of relationship or correlation between the quality of library services at the University of Timor in the border region to the interest in reading students at the University Library of Timor is in the strong category correlation with intervals of 0.60-0.799 means that the higher the quality of library services at the University of Timor in the border region, the higher the interest in reading students in the Library.

Abstract

This study focused in finding out the degree of students’ interest toward the use of Case Building Technique which its use was limited in writing skill enhancement. The study was a descriptive qualitative. The population of the study was 160 students of English Education Program, Language and Literature Faculty, State University of Makassar in 2012-2013 academic years. Cluster random sampling was used in this study and, due to the large number of population.  The researcher chose the classes randomly by using lot. Questionnaire was used as instrument of the research by applying Likert Scale. In collecting data, the researcher distributed the instrument after the implementation of Case Building Technique. The findings revealed 37,5 % of students were strongly interested, 57,5% of students were interested and only 5% of students were moderate. In other words, most students were interested in learning to write English composition by using Case Building Technique. This technique had been found alluring by the students and, therefore, has changed the students’ attitude towards writing.

Abstract

The potential of every human resource in each office must be utilized as well as possible so as to provide optimal output. This study aims to determine the effect of compensation on employee performance in the Bissappu District Office, Bantaeng Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a population of 52 and determining the amount of 5 percent of the population so that 46 samples are obtained. Of the 46 samples 44 of them were made as Respondents and 2 were used as Informants. Data collection techniques observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation, while the data analysis technique used is the percentage statistics. The results showed that the effect of compensation in the District Office of Bissappu in Bantaeng Regency was classified as very high in terms of indicators of direct compensation and indirect compensation. The work performance of employees in the Bissappu District Office of Bantaeng Regency is classified in the very high category in terms of indicators of work quality, work quantity, level of reliability, and attitude. Hypothesis testing results indicate that there is a significant relationship between compensation for employee performance in the District Office of Bissappu, Bantaeng Regency.
