Abstract

Museums have historical collections, so it is appropriate to use museums as a source of learning media in learning history. In the learning process, the purpose of learning history is to shape the character of the nation, where this character must grow at all levels of education, both elementary, junior high, high school, and vocational school, as a provision for students to make them the next generation of the nation with good character. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of SMK As-Salam students toward the existence of museums to understand the purpose of learning history. The research method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and interviews. The results showed that all students, especially vocational students, need to learn history through museums to understand historical learning by directly seeing the relics of history. Hopefully, this research can be useful for further literature on history lessons in vocational schools.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the problem-based learning model assisted by stop-motion animation videos in enhancing the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. This research is an experimental study utilizing a nonequivalent control group design. The sample was selected using the purposive sampling technique, with the research sample consisting of 20 students from the first class of grade VI at SDN Dadapayam 01 as the experimental group and 20 students from the second class of grade VI at SDN Dadapayam 02 as the control group. Research data were collected, calculated, and analyzed using the SPSS 24 software. Data collection methods included tests, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate a significant difference in the critical thinking abilities of sixth-grade students between SDN Dadapayam 01 and SDN Dadapayam 02 after engaging in social studies lessons using the problem-based learning model assisted by graphic stop-motion animation videos compared to the problem-based learning model assisted by cut-out stop-motion animation videos. The t-test results, with 𝛼 = 5%, reveal a calculated significance value of 0.014, less than 0.05. In conclusion, implementing the problem-based learning model assisted by graphic stop-motion animation videos is more effective than the model-assisted by cut-out stop-motion animation videos. The expected contribution is that the problem-based learning model assisted by stop-motion animation videos can be considered an alternative for educators to implement in student learning.

Abstract

The women's movement, both globally and locally in Indonesia, has organically been trying to eliminate gender inequality caused by patriarchy for a long time. Even though they benefit from patriarchal culture in many ways, men also experience losses and, as a result, are interested in getting involved in the gender equality movement, which women mostly initiate. However, men are in a dilemma position in this women's movement: as a threat and an opportunity. Therefore, this article is qualitative research that explores the potential and risks of men's involvement in the women's movement through a literature review. All the collected articles were then read, and their important findings were formulated in the results and classified thematically. The results show that historically, men have been and continue to be involved in the gender equality movement. However, several pros and cons arise. Therefore, this article also ultimately argues that even though it is significant for men to be involved in the women's movement to end all forms of oppression, domination, and violence, the involvement of men is conditional, which pays attention to the safety of women and is not intended to take over the political position of the leader of the gender equality movement from women.

Abstract

As the population increases, the need for land for settlements also increases. The development of residential areas has entered rural areas and has led to an increase in the number of residents in village areas where housing was built. The meeting of two or several individuals in an area will lead to the possibility of interaction. This study aims to look at the acceptance of villagers for the presence of migrants as residents who inhabit residential areas from the aspect of social interaction. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews and determining sources using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection results were processed using source triangulation and member-checking and analyzed using thematic analysis methods based on the theory of social interaction by Georg Simmel. This research was carried out in two places, namely Ngrombo village and Waru village in Baki District. The research was conducted in 2023. The findings in this study found various forms of social interaction that occurred in the community in the Baki District area. Interactions between the residents of the village and the residents of the residential area are established through exchanges, superordination, subordination, and conflicts.

Abstract

This research explores the experiences of female civil servants in Jakarta and Bogor regarding the social constructions that shape their roles as wives and mothers. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations during October-November 2022 using Simone de Beauvoir's feminist existentialism framework. This study found that female civil servants are still expected to bear the full burden of domestic work despite their role in the public sphere. As a result, women often experience a double burden and are hindered from getting promoted. This is due to the view that women's role in the public sphere is secondary, in line with the legacy of the "ibuism" ideology introduced during the new order era. This reinforces the precedent that women's primary career is in the domestic sphere. Based on these findings, a more equitable division of labor and support systems for female civil servants in the domestic sphere and the workplace are needed. Thus, female civil servants can optimally perform their duties and have the opportunity to be promoted equally with male civil servants. By demonstrating the gap between society's expectations and the professional realities experienced by these women, this research contributes to the broader discourse on gender equality in the bureaucratic system. This research can serve as a basis for developing policies and mechanisms to foster a more supportive environment for female civil servants.

Abstract

Dodol Betawi is a specialty food processed by the Betawi people and is one of the archipelago's culinary delights that should be preserved. Dodol Betawi is in great demand by the public, not only from the Betawi tribe of Jakarta but also from people in other regions. The Covid-19 pandemic has devastated the entire small home-based business sector, which is still conservative. In addition, the progress of modern times has also contributed to the decline in Dodol Betawi's competitiveness in the current culinary market. This research was conducted to find the strategy of traditional processed food amid increasingly competitive modern processed food business competition as a study material in developing local wisdom-based entrepreneurship. This research was conducted using qualitative methods through a case study approach. Data collection was done through observation and interviews. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data analysis in this study was carried out through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that Dodol Betawi, before the pandemic, was generally used for Betawi community celebrations. This is exacerbated by the competition of various types of processed foods sold online, making Bu Amsah's Dodol Betawi producers experience a drastic decline and even difficulty competing.
