Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in education has caused the learning curriculum to experience replication. Not only in delivering learning material, but replication also occurs in the learning assessment process. Teachers are required to be able to carry out an objective assessment of learning in all subjects. This study aims to determine teacher difficulties and explore alternative assessments used by teachers in mathematics learning in the pandemic era. This research is a qualitative study using an exploratory study approach that aims to deepen the study of research objectives that focus on constraint and alternative phenomena in assessing mathematics learning in elementary schools. The instrument used has been validated by experts and got the value of the coefficient Aiken = 0,742 this shows that the instrument used is valid and in the good category. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires for teachers and field observations in the online learning process. Data analysis was carried out by using descriptive techniques from the findings of the questionnaire and observation instruments. This study's results reveal that the teacher finds it difficult to provide an objective assessment of learning, and the alternative assessment of mathematics learning used is digital learning assessment and structured assignments to parent representatives in each zoning. Future research is expected to develop assessment instruments that can facilitate online learning assessments in the pandemic era.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of local wisdom-based story calendar media in improving students’ patriotism character. The type of research is pseudo- experimental, by using a nonequivalent control group design. The population of the study is the fourth-grade students of an elementary school in Ngaliyan District, Semarang, in the even semester, the academic year 2019/2020. The subjects were determined by implementing cluster random sampling. The influence of the media on students’ patriotism was measured using n-gain and independent t-tests. The results showed that the n-gain of students’ patriotism in the experimental class I and experimental class II were higher than the control class, such as 0.37, 0.39, and 0.07 with a moderate category for experimental class and low category for control class. Independent t-test results also showed that the value (p) were 0.025 and 0.044 ≤ 0.05, so there are significant differences in student’s patriotism character between experimental dan control class. So, it can conclude that the local wisdom-based story calendar media is effective for improving students’ patriotism character in the fourth grade of elementary school.

Abstract

Primary school teachers need to have technological knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and content knowledge in online teaching. TPACK is an integrative and transformative knowledge that teachers need to use technology effectively and efficiently in the classroom. This article investigates primary school teachers' perceptions of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) competencies in implementing online learning due to the pandemic COVID-19. The sample in this study were 117 primary school teachers in North Sulawesi province. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach. Data was collected using a questionnaire on a Likert scale developed in Google Form. The results showed that most primary school teachers in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, already had TPACK competencies in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even so, TPACK competencies are in need to be improved in the abilities of TK and PK. The correlation results between the TPACK constructs also showed that the PK and TPK components had a significant effect on TPACK primary school teachers' perception of online learning. It was also found that there was no significant difference between gender and TPACK competency of primary school teachers.
