Abstract

This research aims to develop student worksheets based visual literacy and describe its characteristics,teachers’, and students’ responses to the student worksheets on acid base topic. This research used Borg and Gall design of research and development with only focused on the first five stage.Research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics analysis. The expert validation showed that the average percentage on content suitability aspect, construction, and readability were 93,33%, 94,28%, and 90% with very high criteria.The teachers’ responses on suitability, construction, and readability aspects were 90,83%, 90%, and 91,42%, respectively with very high criteria. While students’ responses on readability and attractiveness were 93,14% and 95,84%, respectively with very high criteria.Based on these results, the student worksheets generated by this research is valid and worthy as sources of learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKS berbasis literasi visual dan mendeskripsikan karakteristik, tanggapan guru,serta tanggapan siswa terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan pada materi asam basa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian dan pengembangan menurut Borg dan Gall dengan hanya berfokus pada lima tahap pertama. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistika deskriptif. Validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata persentase aspek kesesuaian isi,konstruksi, dan keterbacaan berturut-turut sebesar 93,33%, 94,28%, dan 90% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Tanggapan guru pada aspek kesesuaian isi, konstruksi, dan keterbacaanberturut-turut sebesar 90,83%, 90%, dan 91,42% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Tanggapan siswa pada aspek keterbacaan dan kemenarikan berturut-turut sebesar 93,14% dan 95,84% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, LKS yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini valid dan layak digunakan sebagai media belajar.Kata kunci: literasi visual, lembar kerja siswa, asam basa

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to increase student’s elaboration skills on chemical equilibrium subject matters.  The population of this research was students in XI science grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro odd semester academic year 2013-2014.  The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique and these were XI 1 and XI 2 of science grade.  The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Desaign.  The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-gain between control and experiment class.  The result showed that the average n-gain of student’s elaboration skills of control was 0,271 and 0,512 for experiment class.  The result of hypothesis testing showed that discovery learning model was effective to increase student’s elaboration skills on chemical equilibrium subject matters. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014.  Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Desaign.  Efektivitas model discovery learning ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen.  Hasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-gain keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,271 dan kelas eksperimen 0,512.  Hasi pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Kata kunci:  kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan elaborasi, model discovery learning

Abstract

This study was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving model in increasing the ability of judging the credibility of a source on hydrolysis salt. Two classes to be sampled by purposive sampling were the 11th grade of IPA1 as an experimental class and the 11th grade of IPA3 as a control class. The method of this study was quasi experiment with non equivalent control group design. The results showed that the average n-Gain of students ability of judging the credibility of a source in the experimental class was higher than the control class. Based on statistical test, the average n-Gain showed significant differences. It was concluded that problem solving model effective to increase judging the credibility of a source ability on hydrolysis salt.Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan memutuskan sumber yang dapat dipercaya pada materi garam hidrolisis. Dua kelas penelitian yang dijadikan sampel yaitu kelas XI IPA 1 (kelas eksperimen) dan kelas XI IPA 3 (kelas kontrol) dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan non equivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan siswa dalam memutuskan sumber yang dapat dipercaya pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji statistik terhadap rata-rata n-Gain menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa model problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan memutuskan sumber yang dapat dipercaya pada garam hidrolisis.Kata kunci: garam hidrolisis, memutuskan sumber dipercaya, problem solving

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the effectiveness of improving the cooperative ability and becoming a good listener with using hypnoteaching in solubility and solubility product.The research was done in class XI IPA2 State Senior High School 13 Bandar Lampung. This study used a pre-experimental method with One Shoot Case Study Design. The effectiveness of hypnoteaching is measured by the percentage of average research finding in each meeting.  After observation in five meetings, the average percentage of cooperative ability has improved significantly with percentage 44.85%, 50.00%, 61.25%, 63.53%, and 65.00%. Then, becoming a good listener with percentage 66.67%, 70.56%, 73.13%, 74.71%, and 81.11% has improved significantly too. Therefore, it can be concluded that learning with hypnoteaching is significant to improve cooperative ability and becoming a good listener.Keywords: learning of hypnoteaching, cooperative ability, becoming a good listener.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the guided inquiry model that are effective in improving the inference and mastery of concepts skill in the subject of colloid. The samples of this research were the students of SMAN 1 Seputih Mataram class XI IPA2 and XI IPA3 at even semester year of 2012-2013. This research used quasi experiment method by non equivalent control group design. Effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model measured based on significant n-Gain difference between control class and experiment class. The result of this research showed the average of inference skill n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,35 and 0,60, then the average of mastery of concepts skill n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,38 and 0,67. Based on the hypothesis testing, it was concluded that the guided inquiry learning model effective in improving the inference and mastery of concepts skill on colloid subject.                              Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model inkuiri terbimbing  dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menginferensi dan penguasaan konsep pada materi koloid. Sample dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMAN 1 Seputih Mataram kelas  XI IPA2dan XI IPA3 semester genap Tahun Ajaran 2012-2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan non equivalent control group design. Efektivitas model inkuiri terbimbing diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata n-Gain keterampilan menginferensi untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen yaitu 0,35 dan 0,60, lalu nilai rerata n-Gain penguasaan konsep untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen yaitu 0,38 dan 0,67. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, didapat kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menginferensi dan penguasaan konsep pada materi koloid.Kata kunci :keterampilan menginferensi, koloid, pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

Thisresearch was aimedto describe the validity and practicality of LKS based problem solving development to improve creative thinking skills on Arrhenius acidbasetopic. The method was used research and development design (R D). Validity of thestudent worksheet was assessed based on aspects of legibility, construction, and conformity with KI-KD. Practicality of thestudent worksheet was assessed based on legibility, construction, and content conformity with KI-KD by teachers; aspects of legibility, attractiveness, and positive responses by students; as well as test the implementation of LKS in the learning process. The results of thisresearchindicated that problem solving based LKS to improve students' creative thinking skills on Arrhenius acid base was valid and practical to be used, itwasseen from the aspect of validity that has high criteria, teacher and student response to LKS of development result which has very high criteria, as well as positive responses from students after the learning process.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validitas dan kepraktisan pengembangan LKS berbasisproblem solvinguntuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada materi asam-basa Arrhenius. Metode yang digunakan adalah desain penelitian dan pengembangan (RD). Validitas dinilai berdasarkan aspek keterbacaan, konstruksi, dan kesesuaian isi dengan KI-KD. Kepraktisan dinilai berdasarkan aspek keterbacaan, konstruksi, dan kesesuaian isi dengan KI-KD oleh guru; aspek keterbacaan, kemenarikan, dan respon positif oleh siswa; serta uji keterlaksanaan LKS dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa LKS berbasisproblem solvinguntuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa pada asam basa Arrhenius sudah valid dan praktis digunakan, hal ini terlihat dari aspek validitas yang memiliki kriteria tinggi, respon guru dan siswa terhadap LKS hasil pengembangan yang memiliki kriteria sangat tinggi, serta respon positif dari siswa setelah melakukan proses pembelajaran.Kata kunci: asam basa Arrhenius, LKS,problem solving

Abstract

This research aimed to describe effectiveness of PLGI learning in improving of student’s learning motivation and concept mastery at Basic Laws of Chemistry.  The population in this study was all students of class X in State Senior High School 2 Gadingrejo at school year 2012-2013. Sampling use class X1 as a control class and X2as a experiment class. This is a quasi-experimental research using Non Eqiuvalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design. Effectiveness of learning was measured based on improvements n-Gain significant and students be more motivated to study hard and get a better mastery of the concept after learning.  The results showed that: (1) the average value of n-Gain student’s learning motivation in experiment class and control class are 0,14 and 0,02, and the average value of n-Gain mastery of the concept in experiment class and control class are 0,58 and 0,42.  (2) the percentage of  highly motivated students each indicator of motivation in the experiment class was higher than the control class, (3) mastery learning experiment class reached 89,29%, while the control class reached 60,71%.  Showing that student’s learning motivation and concept mastery at Basic Laws of Chemistry in experiments class were higher than the control class.  Thus, the PLGI learning model is effective in improving student’s learning motivation and mastery of the concept at basic laws of chemistry in state senior high school 2 Gadingrejo.Keywords: Peer Led Guided Inquiry, student’s learning motivation and concept  mastery

Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe the effectiveness of predict-observe-explain (POE) learning cycle model in thermochemicalof communication skill and mastery of the material concept.  Students who became the subject of this research was1 Science class grade XI SMA  Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2012/2013.  This research used the pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design.  The effectiveness of POE learning model was determined based on the average of n-Gain(normalize gain).The results of this research showed that the average value of n-Gain of communication skill was 0.4 and mastery of the material concept was 0.7.  Thus, it can be concluded that the POE learning cycle model in thermochemical concept effective to enhance of communication skill and mastery of the material concept in medium category.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model siklus pembelajaran Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) pada materi pokok terkomia dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berkomunikasi dan penguasaan konsep siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa siswi kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Pre-Experimental, dan menggunakan one-group pretest-posttest design. Efektivitas model siklus pembelajaran POE diukur berdasarkan nilai n-gain (gain ternormalisasi). Dimana rerata n-Gain untuk keterampilan berkomunikasi siswa 0,4 dan penguasaan konsep 0,7. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model siklus pembelajaran  POE efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berkomunikasi dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi termokimia.Kata kunci: keterampilan berkomunikasi, model siklus belajar poe, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning on the acid-base in improving high order thinking skills based on gender.  The research method is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest controlgroup design (factorial 2 x 2). The sample of this study was chosen based on purposive sampling technique is XI IPA 2 and XI IPA 3.  Data analysis with two way ANOVA using SPSS 24.00 for windows.  Based on the result of data analysis summarized that there is no interaction between learning model and gender of students’ high order thinking skills on acid-base.  Problem solving learning is effective to improving high order thinking skills on acid-base.  Percentage n-gain high categoryin high order thinking skills of male students is higher than percentage n-gain high category in high order thinking skills of female students with problem solving learning on acid-base.Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan efektivitas problem solving materi asam-basa dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi ditinjau dari jenis kelamin.  Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2 x 2. Sampel penelitian ini dipilih berdasarkan teknik Purposive sampling yaitu siswa kelas XI IPA 2 dan XI IPA.  Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis varians dua jalur (two way ANOVA) program SPSS 24.00 for windows.  Berdasarkan hasil analisis disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dengan jenis kelamin terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa materi asam-basa.  Model problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa materi asam-basa.  Persentase n-gain kategori tinggi keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa laki-laki lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan persentase n-gain kategori tinggi siswa perempuan dengan pembelajaran problem solving materi asam-basa.Kata Kunci: model problem solving, keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, jenis kelamin, asam-basa.

Abstract

This research purpose was to describe the effectiveness of students worksheets (LKS) based-on scientific approach in reaction rate concept topic to increase science process skills (KPS) based on gender. This research used quasy experiment methods with factorial 2x2 design. Population of this research were students of XI IPA at SMA Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung with XI IPA2 and XI IPA3 classes as research samples that were got by purposive sampling technique. Instrument of this research were LKS based-on scientific approach and conventional, pretest and posttest questions, and attitude assessment sheets. Analysis technique of the data were used two ways ANOVA test and Mann Whitney U test. The research result showed that LKS based-on scientific approach learning in reaction rate concept topic was effective to increase students KPS based-on gender and male students KPS was higher than female students KPS.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektivan dari LKS berbasis pendekatan saintifik pada materi konsep laju reaksi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) siswa laki-laki dan perempuan (gender). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA di SMA Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung dengan kelas XI IPA2 dan XI IPA3 sebagai sampel penelitian yang diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa LKS berbasis pendekatan saintifik dan konvensional, soal pretes dan postes, serta lembar penilaian sikap. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji ANOVA dua jalur dan uji Mann Whitney U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran LKS berbasis pendekatan saintifik pada materi konsep laju reaksi efektif dalam meningkatkan KPS siswa berdasarkan gender dan KPS siswa laki-laki lebih tinggi daripada KPS siswa perempuan.Kata kunci: gender, laju reaksi, KPS, LKS berbasis pendekatan saintifik
