Abstract

Kebudayaan merupakan wujud dari norma, nilai dan adat istiadat berperan penting pada dunia pendidikan secara khusus dalam pembelajaran matematika. Nias Selatan yang kaya akan budaya dapat menjadi referensi bagi guru matematika untuk menciptakan media pembelajaran. Kebudayaan yang sangat menarik untuk dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran matematika yaitu budaya “hombo batu”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hombo batu dan mendeskripsikan konsep matematika yang terdapat di dalamnya sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai media pembalajaran matematika. Pendekatan Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian etnografi. Fokus penelitian ini adalah budaya hombo batu di Kabupaten Nias Selatan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, hombo batu memiliki 4 konsep-konsep matematika secara umum yaitu konsep limas persegi panjang terpancung masing-masing titik sudut, rusuk, sisi atau bidang, diagonal sisi, diagonal ruang, bidang diagonal, persegi panjang, trapesium, jaring-jaring, luas permukaan dan volume; konsep kesebangunan masing-masing sebangun dan kongruen; konsep geometri transformasi masing-masing refleksi dan dilatasi; serta konsep pola bilangan, sehingga budaya hombo batu dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran matematika.Kata Kunci: Hombo batu; konsep matematika; media pembelajaran matematika.  AbstractCulture is the realization of norms, values, and customs that takes important role in education field particularly in the learning of mathematics. South Nias with rich cultures can become reference for mathematics teacher to create media of learning. The very interesting culture that can be used as the media of learning of mathematics is culture which named “hombo batu”. This research aims at identifying hombo batu and describing the mathematics concept that found within it so it can be used as the media of learning of mathematics. This research is designed in qualitative research design through ethnography research approach. The focus of this research is culture “hombo batu” in South Nias Regency. The techniques of data collection that used are observation, intervew and documentation. Based on the results of research and discussion, hombo batu has four mathematical concepts in general, they are truncated rectangular pyramid off at each corner points, edges, side or field, diagonal side, diagonal space, rectangle, trapezoid, nets surface area and volume; the similarities are congruent and congruent respectively, the transformation geometry of each reflection and dilatation, and number patterns, so that the hombo batu culture can be used as a medium for learning mathematics.Keywords: Hombo batu; mathematical concepts; media of learning of mathematics.

Abstract

Berpikir statistis merupakan proses berpikir seseorang mengenai kemampuan untuk mengerti dan memahami bagaimana cara mendeskripsikan data, mengorganisasikan dan mereduksi data, merepresentasikan data serta menganalisis dan menginterpretasikan data, yang diimplementasikan  pada  permasalahan  nyata.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil tingkatan berpikir statistis siswa yang berkemampuan awal rendah dalam menganalisis dan menginterpretasikan data. Subjek penelitian ini adalah tiga siswa berkemampuan awal rendah di kelas VIII SMP Walisongo 1, Semarang. Metode Think Aloud diterapkan untuk mengumpulkan data. Data diperoleh melalui data lisan dan data tertulis berupa instrumen masalah statistik pada materi statistika (pemusatan data dan penyebaran data).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat berpikir statistis siswayang berkemampuan awal rendah berada pada tingkat 1:Idiosyncratic, siswa menggunakan pemikiran subjektif, menggunakan isyarat visual untuk mendapatkan informasi atau membuat keputusan, sehingga menghambat kemampuan subjek untuk menentukan ukuran pusat atau ukuran penyebaran. Kata kunci: Berpikir statistis; menganalisis dan menginterpretasi data; tingkatan berpikir statistis. AbstractStatistical thinking is a thinking process related to the ability to understand how to describe, organize, reduce, present, analyze and interpret the data, which is implemented in real problems. This research aims to describe the profile of the level of statistical thinking of students with low initial abilities in analyzing and interpreting data. The subjects of this study were three students with low initial abilities in Junior High School of Walisongo 1, Semarang. The Think Aloud method is applied to collect data. The data obtained through verbal data and written data in the form of statistical problem instruments on statistical materials (center data and spread data).The results showed that the statistical thinking level of students with low initial abilities was at 1th level: Idiosyncratic, students used subjective thinking, used visual cues to obtain information or make decisions, thus inhibiting the subject's ability to determine the size of the center or the size of the spread. Keywords: analyzing and interpreting data construct; statistical thinking; statistical thinking level.

Abstract

Tujuan pengembangan modul matematika berbasis kontekstual ini untuk mempermudah peserta didik dalam memahami materi aljabar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model ADDIE. Model ini terdiri dari lima buah tahapan yaitu assessment analysis, design, development, implementation dan evaluation. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP kelas VII. Data yang diolah dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui lembar validasi ahli materi dan ahli media, serta angket respon siswa dengan skala likert. Berdasarkan keseluruhan  penilaian produk  oleh  ahli  materi  diperoleh  skor  85,4%, yang  termasuk  dalam  kriteria  nilai sangat layak. Sedangkan  keseluruhan penilaian  produk  oleh  ahli  media diperoleh skor 78,5%, yang termasuk dalam kriteria nilai layak. Dari hasil yang didapatkan dari angket pernyataan terkait minat siswa terhadap modul mendapatkan skor rata-rata dari kesepuluh siswa tersebut yaitu 46.2. Berdasarkan dari  hasil  penilaian  tersebut  maka modul  yang  dikembangkan  dengan pendekatan  kontekstual  dinyatakan sangat layak untuk digunakan pada pembelajaran materi aljabar serta dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.Kata kunci: Aljabar; kontekstual; minat belajar; modul matematika. AbstractThe purpose of developing this contextual-based mathematics module is to make it easier for students to understand algebraic material. This research is a development research with the research method used in this study is the ADDIE model. This model consists of five stages, namely assessment analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subjects of this study were class VII junior high school students. The data processed in this study were collected through validation sheets of material experts and media experts, as well as student response questionnaires with a Likert scale. Based on the overall assessment of the product by material experts, it was obtained a score of 85.4%, which is included in the very feasible score criteria. While the overall product assessment by media experts obtained a score of 78.5%, which is included in the criteria for a decent score. And the results obtained from the questionnaire statement related to students' interest in the module got the average score of the ten students, namely 46.2. Based on the results of this assessment, the module developed with a contextual approach is declared feasible for use in learning algebraic material and it can increase student interest in learning.Keywords: Algebra; contextual; learning interest; mathematics module

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa berdasarkan gaya kognitif reflektif siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini meliputi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 20 Kota Jambi tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Teknik pengambilan subjek menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua siswa yang mewakili gaya kognitif reflektif dan sesuai dengan pertimbangan guru. Materi tes uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan koneksi matematis adalah materi yang telah dipelajari siswa yaitu materi persamaan linear dua variabel. Intrumen tes kemampuan koneksi matematis terdiri dari tiga butir soal yang mana setiap satu soal memuat satu indikator. Intrumen tes untuk mengukur gaya kognitif reflektif siswa menggunakan Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) yang dicetuskan oleh Jerome Kagan. Instrumen MFFT pada penelitian ini mengadopsi dari Warli (2010). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa ditinjau dari gaya kognitif reflektif siswa dalam kategori baik. Siswa telah memenuhi paling sedikit dua indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis dari pencapain tiga indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis yang harus dipenuhi yaitu siswa dapat menghubungkan konsep-konsep antar topik matematika lainnya dan menghubungkan konsep matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Kata kunci: Gaya kognitif reflektif; kemampuan koneksi matematis; matematika. Abstract This research aims to describe students' mathematical connection ability based on their reflective cognitive style. This is a qualitative descriptive research involved eighth graders of State Junior High School of 20 Jambi in the academic year of 2020/2021. The subject was two students determined using purposive sampling technique who represented reflective cognitive style and were in accordance with the teacher's considerations. The essay test material to measure the mathematical connection ability is those that students had learned which are the two-variable linear equation material.The mathematical connection ability test instrument consists of three items, each of which contains one indicator. The test instrument to measure students' reflective cognitive style was the Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) invented by Jerome Kagan. The MFFT instrument in this study was adopted from Warli (2010). The result showed that students’ mathematical connection ability viewed from students’ reflective cognitive style was in the good category.  Students have fulfilled at least two out of three mathematical connection ability indicators: students were able to connect certain topics and other topics. and connect mathematical concept into daily life.  Keywords: Mathematics; mathematical connective ability; reflective cognitive style.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of handouts based on Guided Note Taking on the system material of three-variable linear equations and to determine the quality of handouts in terms of validity and practicality. This research is a development research that refers to the 4D development model namely define, design, develop, disseminate. The subjects in this study were 2 teachers and 5 students of SMA Negeri 1 Buay Bahuga. The instruments used to measure the quality of the handouts developed included expert questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires. Expert questionnaires were used to measure the validity of the handouts, while teacher and student response questionnaires were used to measure the practicality of the handouts. The research product was a handout based on Guided Note Taking on the material of the system of linear equations of three variables for class X SMA. The results showed that from the aspect of validity it was included in the valid category with an average score of 75 based on the assessment of two expert lecturers (material, design and language experts); of the two teachers' responses with an average of 42.5 were in the good category and the student responses with an average of 41.8 were in the good category so that the practicality aspect was categorized as practical based on the results of the handout user's response. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the handout based on guidance notes on the material for the three-variable linear equation system developed is valid and can be used practically in learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pengamatan di SMP Karya Bhakti Panaragan menunjukkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik masih terbilang rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh dari model pembelajaran Means-Ends Analysis (MEA) dengan strategi pembelajaran Lightening The Learning Climate terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik kelas VII SMP Karya Bhakti Panaragan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Pengambilan subjek pada penelitian ini adalah menggunakan teknik acak kelas. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 kelas VII berjumlah 30 peserta didik . Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Tes dan Dokumentasi. Tes dalam penelitian ini untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik menggunakan tes berbentuk uraian sebanyak 8 soal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah validitas, taraf kesukaran, daya pembeda, dan reliabilitas. Teknik Uji prasyarat adalah normalitas, homogenitas. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji anava satu arah dan uji scheffe. Hasil penelitian ini adalah uji anava satu jalan menghasilkan nilai sig.<0,05 yang artinya H0 ditolak menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Means-Ends Analysis (MEA) dengan strategi Lightening The Learning Climate terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis; lightening the learning climate; means-ends analysis (MEA)AbstractThis research was motivated by observations at SMP Karya Bhakti Panaragan showing that students' mathematical problem solving abilities were still relatively low. The purpose of this research was to determine whether there is an effect of the Means-Ends Analysis (MEA) learning model with the Lightening the Learning Climate learning strategy on the mathematical problem solving abilities of seventh grade students of SMP Karya Bhakti Panaragan. The method used in this research is quantitative methods. Taking the subject in this study was using a randomized class technique. The subjects used in this study were 3 class VII totaled 30 students. Data collection techniques used in this study were tests and documentation. The test in this study was to measure students' mathematical problem solving abilities using a test in the form of a description of 8 questions. The data analysis techniques used were validity, level of difficulty, distinguishing power, and reliability. The prerequisite test techniques are normality, homogeneity. Hypothesis testing using one-way ANOVA test and Scheffe test. The results of this reseach indicate that One-way ANOVA test produces sig. <0.05, which means that H0 is rejected there is an effect of the use of the Means-Ends Analysis (MEA) learning model with the Lightening the Learning Climate strategy on students' mathematical problem solving abilities.Keywords: Lightening the learning climate; mathematical problem solving ability; means-ends analysis (MEA)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perberdaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik yang memperoleh pembelajaran model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional yang ditinjau dari gender (laki-laki dan perempuan) dan level sekolah (tinggi, sedang, rendah) di MTsN Kabupaten Tanah Datar. Jenis peneltian adalah eksperimen dan desain penelitian yang digunakan Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design dengan variabel bebas model PBL dan konvensional, variabel terikat adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan variabel moderator adalah gender dan level sekolah dengan  jumlah sampel sebanyak 146 siswa. Teknik pengolahan data dengan menggunakan uji-t, uji-U dan uji ANOVA dua arah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang belajar dengan model PBL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang belajar dengan model konvensional di sekolah level tinggi, sedang dan rendah. (2) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan yang belajar dengan  model PBL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang belajar dengan model konvensional.(3) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa perempuan lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki (4)  Tidak  terdapat  interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan gender  dalam mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. (5) Tidak  terdapat interaksi antara  model pembelajaran  dan level sekolah dalam mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.Kata kunci: Gender, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, level sekolah, Problem Based Learning AbstractThis study aims to determine the difference in mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who obtain Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning models with students who use conventional learning models in terms of gender (male and female) and school level (high, medium, low) in MTsN Tanah Datar District. This type of research is the experimental and research design used by the Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design with independent variables PBL and conventional models, the dependent variable is the ability to solve mathematical problems and the moderator variable is gender and school level with a total sample of 146 students. Data processing techniques using t-test, U-test and two-way ANOVA test. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The mathematical problem-solving ability of students who learn with PBL models is higher than those who learn with conventional models in high, medium and low level schools. (2) Mathematical problem solving ability of male and female students learning with PBL models is higher than those learning with conventional models. (3) Mathematical problem solving abilities of female students are higher than male students (4) There is no interaction between learning models and gender in influencing students' mathematical problem solving abilities. (5) There is no interaction between learning models and school level in influencing students' mathematical problem solving abilities.Keywords: Gender, mathematical problem solving ability, school level, Problem Based Learning.

Abstract

Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk menelaah  efektivitas menggunakan pendekatan induktif deduktif  berbantuan Geogebra terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini  adalah metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Batujajar, sedangkan sampelnya dipilih dua kelas, yaitu kelas XI IPA 5 dan XI IPA 2 yang banyaknya 68 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seperangkat tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif yang berbentuk soal uraian sebanyak 4 soal. Soal tersebut sudah memenuhi soal yang baik berdasarkan validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda dan indeks kesukaran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini antara lain analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial meliputi uji N-gain, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji T-test (Independent Samples T-test) atau uji Mann-Whitney. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan menggunakan SPSS 18 diperoleh hasil bahwa pendekatan induktif deduktif berbantuan Geogebra dengan pendekatan  biasa memiliki nilai sign. sebesar 0,000, karena nilai sign. < 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan induktif deduktif berbantuan Geogebra lebih efektif dibandingkan pendekatan biasa ditinjau dari  kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa berdasarkan kecerdasan majemuk (multiple intelligence) dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika pada konten change and relationship dan space and shape. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket kecerdasan majemuk (multipel intelligence), tes kemampuan literasi matematika dan pedoman wawancara. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah empat orang siswa yang dipilih berdasarkan kecerdasan dominan dari seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP IT Ibnu Sina dan mewakili setiap kecerdasan yaitu kecerdasan intrapersonal, interpersonal, kinestetik, dan logika matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) subjek dengan kecerdasan intrapersonal hanya memenuhi indikator kemampuan komunikasi pada konten change and relationship dan space and shape; 2) subjek dengan kecerdasan interpersonal hanya mampu memenuhi indikator kemampuan matematisasi pada konten change and relationship dan pada konten space and shape subjek belum memenuhi indikator kemampuan komunikasi, matematisasi, dan kemampuan memilih strategi; 3) subjek dengan kecerdasan kinestetik belum memenuhi indikator kemampuan komunikasi, matematisasi, dan memilih strategi untuk menyelesaikan masalah pada konten change and relationship maupun space and shape; 4) subjek dengan kecerdasan logika matematika telah memenuhi indikator kemampuan komunikasi, matematisasi, dan memilih strategi dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada konten change and relationship.Kata kunci: Literasi matematika; multiple intelligence; change and relationship; space and shape. Abstract This study aims to describe students' mathematical literacy skills based on multiple intelligence in solving math problems on the content of change and relationship and space and shape. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The instruments used in this study were multiple intelligence questionnaires, math literacy skills tests and interview guides. The subjects in this study were four students who were selected based on the dominant intelligence of all eighth grade students of SMP IT Ibnu Sina and represented each intelligence, namely intrapersonal, interpersonal, kinesthetic, and mathematical logic. The results showed that: 1) subjects with intrapersonal intelligence only met the indicators of communication skills in content change and relationship and space and shape; 2) the subject with interpersonal intelligence is only able to meet the indicators of mathematical ability in change and relationship content and the subject's space and shape content has not met the indicators of communication skills, mathematics and the ability to choose strategies; 3) subjects with kinesthetic intelligence have not met the indicators of communication skills, mathematics, and choose strategies to solve problems in change and relationship content as well as space and shape; 4) the subject with mathematical logic intelligence has met the indicators of communication skills, mathematics, and chooses strategies in solving problems with content change and relationship.Keywords: mathematical literacy; multiple Intelligence; change and relationship; space and shape

Abstract

Problem-solving is one of the most important abilities possessed by prospective mathematics teacher students. One way to develop student problem-solving abilities is to use learning models designed to develop problem-solving abilities. This study aims to develop a trigonometry module to develop valid, practical, and effective mathematics education student problem-solving abilities. This research is a research development (Research & Development). This study develops a trigonometric course module using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The instruments used consisted of validation sheets filled out by experts in the field of mathematics education, student practicality assessment sheets, and learning outcomes tests with problem-solving questions. The quality of the developed modules is viewed from the aspects of validity, aspects of practicality, and aspects of effectiveness. The result is that the module is included in the valid category, with a high practicality value. The aspect of effectiveness based on test learning outcomes with problem-solving problems has increased from the results of the pretest and posttest. The result of the development in this study is the product of a trigonometric course learning module that is valid, practical and effective, and suitable for use by mathematics education students. The contribution of this research is that this module can be used during Trigonometry lectures.
