Abstract

Working mothers often face challenges at work due to the lack of adequate, comfortable, and standardized breast pumping facilities, forcing them to express milk in unsuitable places like bathrooms, storage rooms, or under desks. This research explores the adaptation of traditional lactation rooms into lactation pods in Indonesian office settings, focusing on mothers returning to work after maternity leave. Using a user-centered design approach, this qualitative study aims to promote understanding and serve as a medium for advocating gender equality in the workplace. The research highlights the importance of creating an inclusive environment for female employees and empowering women at work. The outcome is a conceptual design (CD) that offers a sustainable solution to support breastfeeding-friendly offices while enhancing the productivity of working mothers.

Abstract

The growing complexity of organizational governance and risk management has shifted the role of internal audit from a mere control mechanism to a strategic partner. Although previous studies have extensively examined audit quality from compliance and financial reporting perspectives, limited attention has been given to how auditees perceive the value created by internal audit services, particularly within strategic stateowned enterprises implementing purpose-driven internal audit. This study investigates the influence of audit service quality on auditee satisfaction, mediated by perceived value, within the Internal Audit Division for Construction, Generation, and Renewable Energy at PT PLN (Persero). Using a quantitative approach, five dimensions of audit service quality—tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy—were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). This study addresses this research gap by positioning perceived value as a psychological mechanism linking audit service quality and auditee satisfaction. The results demon strate that all dimensions significantly impact perceived value, which in turn mediates their effect on satisfaction. Responsiveness and empathy were found to be the most dominant influences. These findings support the practical implementation of a purposedriven internal audit model that prioritizes stakeholder value perception. This study contributes to the theoretical development of audit service quality and perceived value in public sector enterprises, particularly in trust-based professional contexts.

Abstract

The growing reliance on social media as a central communication infrastructure has required nonprofit organizations to adopt more deliberate and adaptive digital strategies to sustain audience engagement. This study examines the digital communication strategy of the Odesa Foundation, focusing on content management practices and audience interaction across Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research draws on in-depth interviews with key organizational actors, systematic observation of social media activity over a specified period, and analysis of documented content using engagement indicators such as likes, comments, shares, and interaction patterns. The findings reveal that, despite consistent platform utilization, audience engagement remains limited due to low interactivity in content, misalignment with platform-specific audience preferences, and inconsistent posting frequency. The study contributes to the development of context-sensitive digital communication frameworks for rural nonprofit organizations by demonstrating how structural constraints and strategic choices shape engagement outcomes. Practical implications highlight the importance of platform-responsive content design, the integration of interactive features, and the use of data-driven evaluation to improve communication effectiveness. The analysis is constrained by its single-case scope, which may limit broader generalization, yet it provides a grounded basis for future comparative research on nonprofit digital communication strategies.

Abstract

Indonesia is among the countries with the largest number of TikTok users worldwide, with a difference of about 3.52 million users compared to the country ranked first. The widespread use of smartphones for social media activities may influence users’ body posture and visual comfort. This study examined the effect of using lazy glasses on body posture and eye discomfort while operating the TikTok application on a smartphone in sitting and lying positions. Ten university students (mean ± SD age = 23.4 ± 0.97 years) participated in the experiment. Four experimental conditions were evaluated: lying without lazy glasses (WOLZB), lying with lazy glasses (LZB), sitting without lazy glasses (WOLZD), and sitting with lazy glasses (LZD). Body segment angles and perceived discomfort were analyzed for each condition. The results showed that LZD tended to produce smaller neck angles, while WOLZD resulted in smaller angles in the left elbow. Higher discomfort in the head and neck regions was observed in WOLZD, whereas LZD tended to increase pressure around the eyes. Overall, lazy glasses may reduce physical discomfort in certain viewing positions but do not always produce the most neutral posture.

Abstract

Indonesian batik as an intangible cultural heritage requires the development of innovative designs based on local wisdom. The Pawukon fiber, as an ancient Javanese manuscript, contains visual illumination of high philosophical value, equivalent to the Javanese horoscope, which describes human disposition through the symbol of the god. However, its potential as an inspiration for modern textile design has not been optimally exploited. This research aims to transform the illumination into a contemporary batik printing design for bed set products (bed sheets, pillowcases, and bolster sarongs) without sacrificing their cultural value. The methodology includes literature review, visual observation, design experiments, and prototype validation by cultural experts as well as industry practitioners. The result is a series of contemporary batik printing designs on satin fabric that have been validated. The conclusion of the study confirms that this transformation has succeeded in combining the values of tradition and modern aesthetics, thereby contributing to the preservation of culture and the development of high-value-added creative industry products.

Abstract

Despite the importance of environmental control in specialty coffee production, predictive and data-driven systems that connect environmental conditions with coffee acidity remain limited, particularly in smallholder farming contexts. This study aims to design and implement a digital platform based on the Gradient Boosting algorithm to analyze the relationship between environmental factors (soil, topography, and climate) and coffee acidity (pH) levels in Bandung Regency. Through a machine learning approach, the developed model successfully captures complex non-linear relationships between environmental variables and coffee acidity, achieving a high level of accuracy (R² = 0.95) and reducing the RMSE from 0.077 to 0.040 within five learning iterations. The most influential environmental factor affecting coffee acidity was altitude (0.42), followed by soil pH (0.25) and rainfall (0.18). The predictive model was integrated into a web-based system (KopiAsa), allowing farmers to input environmental data and obtain real-time acidity predictions. This platform functions as a data-driven decision-support tool that enhances analysis efficiency, optimizes farm management, and strengthens the competitiveness of local coffee. The results accelerate the digital transformation of the agricultural sector by supporting precision agriculture and promoting more sustainable coffee production practices in Bandung Regency.

Abstract

Despite its favorable outlook, Islamic religious tourism in Indonesia faces persistent challenges, particularly the low adoption of technology stemming from a socio-cultural strategy mismatch. This study aimed to identify user personas, appropriate platform features, and effective market penetration strategies for a Nusantara Islamic religious tourism platform. Employing a mixed-method design, the study applied Design Thinking principles (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test) alongside Graham Robertson's adoption theory. Data were collected from 4 in-depth interview participants, 32 questionnaire respondents, and 10 prototype evaluators drawn from the Ahlusunnah Wal Jama'ah (ASWAJA) Muslim community in Nusantara. The findings confirmed three core platform features: (1) religious tourism destination information, (2) hotel booking, and (3) worship and prayer guidance. Two dominant adopter categories were identified — Trend Influencer and Late Mass — corresponding to Craft Brand and Power Player strategies aligned with Blue Ocean and Red Ocean approaches, respectively. Theoretically, this study contributes a context-adaptive model integrating Design Thinking with Robertson's market penetration framework, while offering practical recommendations for platform developers, policymakers, and destination managers seeking culturally aligned digital innovation.

Abstract

Lombok Island is a major center for the cultivation of the Pinctada maxima pearl oyster, a species renowned for producing high-value South Sea pearls. The sustainability of pearl farming in this region relies not only on favorable water quality but also on the effective implementation of Ecosystem-Based Management (EBM), which integrates the roles of government agencies, industry stakeholders, and local communities in safeguarding marine ecosystem integrity. This study applied an EBM approach to assess environmental suitability for sustainable pearl cultivation in West Lombok. Field data were collected from three cultivation sites between January and February 2025 through in situ measurements and laboratory analyses of key physicochemical parameters. The results show that pH (7.69), dissolved oxygen (6.38 mg/L), salinity (29.69‰), ammonia (0.037 mg/L), and TSS (0.065 mg/L) were within optimal ranges and complied with marine water quality standards. However, water temperatures reached up to 32.8°C at several sites, exceeding the optimal thermal range for Pinctada maxima and posing risks of physiological stress and reduced pearl quality. To mitigate temperature-related stress, flotation-controlled longline technology can be employed to adjust oyster depth in accordance with thermocline layers that provide more stable thermal and salinity conditions. The integration of such adaptive technologies—combined with active, multi-stakeholder collaboration under the EBM framework—constitutes a critical foundation for maintaining ecosystem stability and ensuring the long-term socioeconomic sustainability of the pearl farming sector in West Lombok.

Abstract

Academic quality assurance (QA) in higher education institutions (HEIs) typically relies on conducting student surveys every semester to evaluate lecturer performance. However, the data processing in the case study remains manual in Microsoft Excel. Data processing results in 3 to 4 days of reporting delay per cycle. There are issues with data inconsistency, duplication, and non-automated mapping of questions into variables. This study aims to develop a business intelligence (BI) dashboard using Power BI that supports data-driven academic QA. The system was developed using human-centered design thinking and the four-step Kimball data warehousing methodology. The resulting dashboard comprises six main pages incorporating Pythonbased sentiment analysis. This dashboard includes interactive filtering and automated mapping of question variables. Evaluation through task-based usability testing yielded a 100% task completion rate, an average Single Ease Question score of 6.08 out of 7, and 100% data validity within a ±0.01 tolerance. In addition, all 43 visuals load in under 500 milliseconds. Theoretically, this study contributes a validated socio-technical BI framework demonstrating that user-participatory development has implications for organizational culture and decision-making in vocational HEIs. Practically, this dashboard eliminates manual reporting bottlenecks and enables stakeholders to monitor lecturer performance and generate reports more efficiently.

Abstract

This study examines socio-technical transition and community-based innovation in Girimekar Village, focusing on how local actors respond to ecological pressures, institutional change, and economic opportunities. Using a qualitative case study, the research analyzes the transition from conventional vegetable farming to coffee-based agroforestry. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with farmers, village officials, Perhutani representatives, youth groups, and facilitators, plus participatory observation and analysis of village documents. The analysis combines the multi-level perspective, which explores interactions between niche, regime, and landscape levels, with actor-network theory, which captures relational dynamics between human and nonhuman actors. The findings show that the transition is not simply a change in crops but a broader socio-technical reconfiguration shaped by collective learning, hybrid knowledge systems, improved land-access arrangements, and strengthened actor networks. Coffee functions as a niche innovation that stabilizes through local experimentation, ecological suitability, and expanding markets, while PHBM schemes and village programs facilitate integration into everyday production. This study contributes to socio-technical transition literature by demonstrating how rural innovation in Indonesia emerges through negotiated community-based processes. Unlike work emphasizing technological adoption, it highlights the relational and territorial dimensions through which local knowledge, collaborative governance, and agroforestry collectively shape sustainable rural transformation.
