Abstract

Background of the study: The emergence of digital literature has transformed the production of literary works, while simultaneously foregrounding archiving as a critical concern, given that such works depend on technologies that are prone to potential loss. Purpose: The study examines the transition challenge of digital material fragility focusing on CD-ROM of APDC as a case in a developing nation, revealing similar preservation risks in global context. Method: Using a critical case study design, the study traces the process of recovering APDC materials. The data collection involved archival analysis, file retrieval through legacy hardware, and metadata. It also employs an interpretive perspective to examine the wider socio-technical factors. Findings: The result indicate that only five poems, out of a total of 169 composed by 55 authors, could be retrieved from a single surviving CD-ROM. This limited regeneration points to the extreme vulnerability of early digital literary works, along with the absence of dependable preservation systems. Conclusion: The inaccessibility of born-digital literature is not merely a technical issue, but a systemic failure of archival practices that places cultural memory at risk.

Abstract

Background of the study: Academic libraries are no longer understood solely as repositories of information, but as adaptive institutions that must respond to the digital habits and media consumption patterns of Generation Z. Purpose: This study aims to examine the use of Instagram as an information marketing platform in academic libraries and its contribution to strengthening institutional image among Generation Z users through the Uses and Gratifications (U&G) framework. Method: This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) design guided by PRISMA procedures. From approximately 1,300 initially identified records, 50 peer-reviewed empirical studies were selected for qualitative synthesis. The data were analyzed using the four dimensions of the Uses and Gratifications framework. Findings: The findings indicate that Instagram supports academic libraries in delivering timely information, presenting visually engaging content, facilitating two-way communication, and strengthening institutional identity among Generation Z users. However, user engagement remains largely transactional, with limited personalization and participatory interaction. Conclusion: To strengthen institutional image and user engagement, academic libraries should move beyond one-way information dissemination and adopt more participatory, personalized, and collaborative Instagram communication strategies. Such approaches are essential for maintaining institutional relevance and strengthening relationships with Generation Z in the digital era.

Abstract

Background of the study: The records management field has grown with the rise of digital records, information governance, and emerging technologies. However, its global trends have not been fully mapped, especially through bibliometric analysis. Thus, an updated study is required to scrutinize the growth of publications, research influence, and key themes in this field. Purpose: This study provides a path to the intellectual and thematic evolution of records management, charting key authors and emerging themes that drive research questions. Method: A bibliometric study using 1100 Scopus-indexed publications on records management from 1949 to 2024, based on criteria such as journal impact, researcher productivity, institutional contributions, and emerging trends. Descriptive performance of documents was measured using metadata, including annual productivity, document and source types, languages, subject areas, countries, institutions, and authors; citation metrics included total citations and h-index. Network mapping was performed in VOSviewer to examine co-authorship and co-occurrence of author keywords. Findings: The literature grew rapidly after the late 1990s and peaked in 2023. Most publications are in English. Records management research is mainly linked to Social Sciences (28.32%), followed by Computer Science (19.48%) and Business, Management and Accounting (12.54%). The United States, the United Kingdom, India, and Malaysia are the leading contributors. Keyword analysis shows continuing interest in core records management, with growing focus on blockchain, security, and health records.  Conclusion: The evidence suggests that records management is becoming more interdisciplinary and technology-driven, especially in digital governance, security, healthcare records, and blockchain. Future studies should practice multiple databases and examine these emerging themes in greater depth.

Abstract

Background of the study: Students are active digital technology users, making them highly vulnerable to hacking, phishing, and digital crime, which highlights the urgent need for digital literacy to protect against cybercrime. Purpose: This study examines the digital literacy levels of students at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, the factors affecting it, and strategies to mitigate cybercrime risks. Method: An Exploratory Sequential Mixed Methods design was adopted. Quantitative data was gathered from 393 respondents via stratified random sampling using a 30-item Likert questionnaire, analyzed using simple linear regression. Qualitative data originated from semi-structured interviews with five purposively sampled informants, followed by thematic analysis and source triangulation. Findings: Overall digital literacy scored 88%, highest in cultural competence (96%) and lowest in creative production (75%). Cybercrime anticipation averaged 88%, yet 20-25% of students neglected technical safeguards like antivirus and two-factor authentication. Regression analysis ($\beta = 0.653$, $t = 19.986$, $F = 399.454$, $R^2 = 0.506$, $p < .001$) confirmed digital literacy significantly predicts cybercrime preparedness. Qualitative analysis identified additional determinants: emotional self-regulation under threat and engagement with safety content. Conclusion: Digital literacy exerts a meaningful influence on student readiness to counter cybercrime. Nonetheless, deficits in technical security habits indicate competence-based measures alone are insufficient. Institutions are urged to embed continuous digital safety education across the curriculum.
