Abstract

Child represent beautiful grant from above which given by Allah SWT to human being to be educated and instructed in order to become good child “shaleh and shalehah”. In Islam the parents is obliged to give correct education to their child as according to al-Qur’an, but education concept of child up to now have not yet become serious attention, even though in Islam academician and also parents itself. Through study of library research with contents analysis, that concept child education stated in Qs. Luqman is first, the obligation to give education of tauhid; second, obligation to have good behavior to parents; third, obligation to have religious service by shalat; fourth, obligation to dakwah in Allah SWT rules by good informing and prohibit to do badness; and fifth, always patient and not arrogant in attitude also in saying word

Abstract

Saadoe’ddin Djambek is one of the leading figures in the field of Islamic astronomy (Falak) in Indonesia. His thoughts scatter in many manuscripts. Djambek’s work has been influenced by medieval Muslim scholars in astronomy and this intellectual process greatly affects his thoughts. This study aims to describe Saadoe’ddin Djambek’s concept of takwim in Islamic lunar calendar (Hijriah). This research reveals that Saadoe’ddin has built his concepts of the beginning of Hijriah month on the holy Qur’an combined with modern astronomical calculation. He makes use of modern principles in astronomy to sustain his system of calculation of the lunar calendar. Whereas, the Quran and Hadith constitute his epistemological foundation. This method results the concept of calculating the beginning of new moon and the alteration of Hijriah month, the beginning of day and date of Hijriah called wujûd alhilâl. In his concept of takwim, he offers a solution to the problem regarding different calculation of the beginning of Hijriah month in a particular region. The concept of determining the beginning of the month and the takwim of Hijriah have strong epistemological foundation that result accuracy calculation. He also uses to some degree the principle of the unity of Muslim community (ukhuwah) in his calculation method and this helps reduce friction in determining the beginning of Islamic lunar calendar amongst Muslims.

Abstract

he study explores the origin of nyaer tradition in Lombok and the reasons the people hold it during Islamic celebrations. Specifically, the study attempts to uncover the values of education of the tradition as means of propagating Islam. The study finds that the nyaer tradition of the book of Kifayah al-Muhtaj began since the coming of Islam into the island and has been maintained from the earlier generation up to the present. The common reasons for upholding nyaer is because it is seen as medium through which the continuity of generations is assured, religious values are preserved and Islamic propagation is established. As a means of disseminating Islam, the book promotes Islamic messages such as consistence and mutual respect among people. The book also fosters charity and the spirit of love for the Prophet and strengthens Islamic unity. For Muslims in Lombok, the book plays a pivotal role in bringing the people into the realization of Islamic teachings.

Abstract

The exact punishment for offenders of Islamic criminal law (jarîmah hudûd) has been clearly mentioned through the language of legal texts in the Qur’an and hadith. However, the realization of the sentence has been problematic and criticized by human rights proponents because they suggest that in contemporary life religious and legal discourses have to be in line with justice, truth, human rights and international law. This study aims to explore legal language of the Qur’an and hadith concerning Islamic criminal law. It shows that any reading and understanding on legal language should consider legal language and the meaning of legal language in various and respective contexts of human life. The truth of the legal language of Islamic criminal law is included in the truth of the religious knowledge, which is dogmatic.

Abstract

This study discusses about: (1) the importance of socialization of professional zakat among the Muslim in Mataram, (2) effective strategy and tricks applied by Baznas City of Mataram and Baznas NTB in order to gain the interest of the muzakki (zakat submitters) in the city of Mataram. Based on the data resources, this research is field research, while observed from the nature of the data; this research is qualitative research with documentation study technique and interview in gathering the data. The gathered data are then analyzed and processed in order to generate conclusion. The findings of this research are: first, profession zakat is necessary to be socialized to Muslim people in Mataram because there are a lot of Muslims in Mataram who have less understanding upon the nature of professional zakat. Moreover, there are some of them who regard professional zakat is not obligatory alms upon them. Second, effective tips and tricks in order to obtain the interest of Muzakki candidate, i.e. (a) coming to the muzakki then give them some explanations about the nature of professional zakat, (b) circulating pamphlets and brochures that explain about professional zakat, (c) conducting dialogue program about professional zakat in TV and radio, (d) publishing all the activities of BAZNAS NTB and BAZNAS city of Mataram in particular through newspapers.

Abstract

Pendidikan berbasis religius dalam perspektif pendidikan Islam adalah lembaga pendidikan yang pendirian dan penyelenggaraannya didorong oleh hasrat untuk mengejewantahkan nilai-nilai Islami. Nilai-nilai Islami tersebut menjadi basis dalam menyelenggarakan pendidikan Islam baik dari segi input, process, output maupun outcome. Salah satu unsur penting dalam mewujudkan nilai-nilai Islami tersebut dalam seluruh komponen pendidikan di madrasah adalah Kepala Madrasah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif jenis studi kasus dengan menempatkan MA NW Hikamtusysyarif sebagai kasus. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model kepemimpinan instruksional transformasional dengan whole school development approach, berhasil diaktualisasi dalam pengembangan pendidikan berbasis religius terwujud dalam nilai-nilai rabbaniyyah yang terdiri dari nilai ikhlas, tawakkal, sabar, syukur sebagai manifestasi nilai mathi (ketaatan vertikal) dan nilai-nilai insaniyyah yang terwujud dalam nilai kesederhanaan, kebersamaan, ijtihad, tawadlu’, shilaturrahim, istiqamah dan sabar sebagai manifestasi nilai mathi’ (ketaatan sosial). Nilai-nilai tersebut terwujud dalam aktivitas-aktivitas religius dan simbol-simbol islami. Penerapan whole school development approach yaitu pengintegrasian unsur-unsur internal sistem pendidikan madrasah dengan unsur eksternal seperti orang tua, masyarakat, para ahli ataupun lembaga pendidikan lainnya melalui partnership atau colaboration.Education based on religiosity in Islamic education perspective is education institution which its establishment and its implementation are driven by desire to institutionalize Islamic values. Islamic values become the basis in carrying out Islamic education either on its input, process, output or outcome. One of the most important things in institutionalizing all those Islamic values into all education components in Madrassa is Headmaster. This research applies is qualitative studies in which put MA NW Hikmatusysyarief as an object of case study. This research shows that instructional – transformational leadership with whole school development approach is successfully implemented in developing education based on religiosity. It is incarnated in rabbaniyah values; sincerity, resignation, patient, and thankful. These values become manifestation of mathi (vertical obedience) and insaniyyah values embodied in simplicity, togetherness, ijtihad, tawadhu, shilaturrahim, istiqamah, and patient as a manifestation of mathi’ (social obedience). These values are materialized in religious activity and Islamic symbols. The implementation of whole school development approach is an integration of internal elements of Madrassa education system with external elements;parents, society, pundits and other education institution through partnership or collaboration.Kata Kunci: kepemimpinan transformasional, instruksional, pendidikan Islam, WSD

Abstract

Keberadaan sosok kiai sebagai pemimpin pondok pesantren memang sangat unik untuk diteliti, hal tersebut dikarenakan dilihat dari sudut tugas dan fungsi seorang kiai yang tidak hanya sekedar memimpin, tetapi juga bahgaimana mengembangkan organisasi pondok pesantren agar bisa tetap eksis di era globalisasi saat ini. Relevan dengan fenomena ini, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif analitis, dimana kiai sebagai subyek utamanya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan KH. Achmad Zamachsyari atau yang biasa disapa dengan Gus Mad dalam pengembangan organisasi tidak terlepas dari kepemimpinan inovatif yang ia terapkan. Sebagai seorang pemimpin di Yayasan Pondok Modern al-Rifa’ie ia harus memberikan visi, haluan kepada bawahannya untuk beranjak dan bergerak dari tempat semula menuju perbaikan dan perubahan. Dalam memimpin YPM al-Rifa’ie, ia menggabungkan gaya kepemimpinan transformasionalisme dengan gaya kepemimpinan demokratis dengan tetap memegang prinsip al-muh}a>faz}atu ‘ala> al-qadi>mi al-s}a>lih} wa al-akhdhu bi al-jadi>di al-as}lah}. Dalam kepemimpinannya, ia menggunakan beberapa pendekatan yakni dengan pengembangan organisasi, mewujudkan team building dan menumbuhkan perilaku inovatif.The existence of Kiai as the leader of Islamic boarding school is unique for being studied by the researcher, such thing is being highly considered because the role of Kiai who does not merely become just a leader or head to lead but also his action in developing Islamic boarding school in order to be exist in globalization era. Relevant to this phenomenon, this research applies descriptive analytics qualitative research which makes Kiai as the subject of the research. the result of this research reveals that the success of KH. Achmad Zamachsyari or well known with his nick name; Gus Mad in developing his boarding school organization cannot be loosen from his innovative leadership. As a leader in Pondok Modern Al – Rifa’ie foundation, he has already given visions, or direction to take off and to move from the obsolete place, into a better condition. In leading his organization he combines transformation style of leadership with democratic leadership while still tightly holds on al muhla fazlatu ‘ala al –qadi mi al shalih wa al akhzu bi al – jadi al as-lah principle. In his leading role, he applies some approaches; organizational development, making team building and growing innovative behavior.Kata Kunci: kepemimpinan kiai, pengembangan organisasi, team building, perilaku inovatif

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena sufisme perennial yang menekankan adanya kesatuan esoterik agama-agama sebagai tren baru pencarian spiritualitas masyarakat perkotaan Indonesia. Tulisan ini menyoroti ajaran sufisme perennial melalui konstruk teori perennialisme yang diusung oleh Frithjof Schuon dan murid spiritualnya yang amat setia dan terkemuka, Seyyed Hossein Nasr. Fokus kajian pada tulisan ini adalah kelompok sufisme yang mengusung ajaran perennial, yakni Padepokan Thaha yang berada di daerah Jakarta Selatan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa perkotaan Indonesia, sebagaimana di perkotaan lain di dunia, memunculkan gejala keagamaan yang tidak lagi hanya diwakili bentuk-bentuk konvensional. Tetapi juga bahkan bentuk-bentuk baru yang bersifat pluralis, universalis, dan eklektik. Gejala ini dapat dipahami jika melihat bahwa banyak dari aspek-aspek modernitas yang cenderung menguntungkan penyebarluasan model keagamaan demikian. Tidak heran jika kebanyakan dari anggotanya berasal dari kelas menengah dan telah memiliki karier yang luas dalam pendidikan formal, termasuk pendidikan tingkat universitas, yang memang terbiasa menerima ide-ide baru. This research studies about Sufism perennial phenomenon which emphasizes esoteric unity of religions as a new trend in spirituality searching of urban people in Indonesia. This research focuses on perennial Sufism teaching through perennials theory of Sufism developed by Frithjof Schuon and his well known student, Sayyed Hossein Nasr. This study focused on Sufism group which hold Sufism perennial; Padepokan Thaha in South Jakarta. This research concluded that in Indonesian city, as generally emerged in other city in the world, the symptoms of religiosity are no longer represented by the conventional one. But there is also new shape of religiosity which more pluralist, Universalist, and eclectic. These symptoms can be understood if we look at some phenomena which benefit dissemination of this new model of religiosity. Therefore it is not weird for us if the follower of this perennial Sufism teaching is embraced by people from middle class with high education, especially those from universities who are generally easy to accept new ideas.Kata-kata kunci: sufisme, perennialisme, esoterik, Padepokan Thaha.

Abstract

Etika merupakan bagian integral dari bisnis. Namun munculnya isu-isu sosial dalam bisnis yang berupa kurangnya kesadaran sosial, moralitas dan kerusakan yang ditimbulkan pada masyarakat berupa masalah-masalah yang berhubungan dengan bisnis yang pada akhirnya mengekspos fakta, bahwa hukum dan peraturan telah gagal sampai batas tertentu. Karena itulah etika bisnis Dawah Rahardjo memberikan jawaban atas persoalan ini. Jenis penelitian ini adalah content analysis yang bersifat library research. Data primer dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil wawancara dan berbagai karya yang ditulis Dawam Rahardjo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Dawam Rahardjo mendasari pemikiran etika bisnisnya dari nilai-nilai fundamental ekonomi Islam yang kemudian diasimilasikan dengan budaya lokal Indonesia yang terkandung dalam Pancasila. Nilai-nilai dasar yang ditawarkan Dawam Rahardjo, berupa tauhid, khilafah, musyawarah, ihsan, fastabiq al-khaira@t, keseimbangan, amanah, amar ma’ru@f nahi munkar, wa tawa@ s}aubi al-haqq wa tawa@s}aubi al-s}abr, dan taqwa. Nilai-nilai tersebut sangat sesuai dengan etika bisnis Islam, karena nilai-nilai ini bersumber dari al-Qur’an dan dipahami dengan teori dan pendekatan ilmu ekonomi. Nilai-nilai normatif ini kemudia diaktualisasikan dalam bentuk etika terapan berupa ekologi, profesionalisme dan amanah manajerial.Ethic is an integral part of business. The occurrence of social issues in business is nevertheless; the lack of social awareness, morality, and destruction upon people in the society namely problem related to business, revealed a fact that law and rules have failed in some circumstances. Therefore Dawam Raharjo offers business ethic to answer such question. This study is content analysis with library research approach. Primary data for this research is interview and some writing of Dawam Rahardjo. This research depicts that Dawam Rahardjo offers his business ethic in which he based his thought on fundamental Islamic thought. Thus these values have been assimilated into Indonesian local culture which is materialized in Pancasila. Basic values offered by Dawam Rahrdjo are tauhid, khilafah, musyawarah, ihsan, fastabiq al khairat, keseimbangan, amanah, amar ma’ruf nahi munkar, wa tawasaubi al – haqq wa tawasaubi – alsabr, and taqwa. Those values are in accordance with Islamic business ethics because these values come from the holly Qur’an and these valuese can be understood through economics approach. Abstract

Berbicara tradisi orang Jawa tidak lepas dari akulturasi antara tiga agama yakni Hindu, Budha, dan Islam. Hasil dari gesekan tersebut melahirkan suatu tradisi Islam Jawa yang masih berbau Hindu dan Budha. Bagaimana akulturasi ini, digunakan paradigma antropologi-fenomenologi, meskipun menjadikan dokumen sebagai sumber utamanya. Fenomenologi digunakan untuk memahami pemaknaan tradisi selametan, dan pendekatan normatif digunakan untuk perspektif Islam. Dapat diketahui bahwa masyarakat Jawa dikenal mempunyai suatu tradisi dalam berbagai ritual yang merupakan sebuah gambaran atau wujud ekspresi yangdilakukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Salah satu warisan tersebut adalah selametan kematian yang merupakan sebagai suatu rasa tanggungjawab apabila ada orang yang meninggal dunia, baik itu keluarga sendiri, maupun tetangga. Orang Jawa pada umumnya masih percaya bahwa roh orang yang meninggal (makhluk halus) itu masih hidup dialam kubur/alam barzah dan lambat laun akan pergi dari tempat tinggalnya. Kepercayaan orang Islam Jawa terhadap orang yang telah meninggal dunia perlu dikirim do’a, maka timbul suatu kebiasaan kirim do’a dikalangan masyarakat, sehingga perlu diadakan ritual tahlilan.Studying about Javanese tradition is cannot be separated from acculturation among Hinduism, Buddhism, and of course Islam. The result of this acculturation generates a tradition called Javanese Islam which incorporates Hinduism and Buddhism tradition. How do these cultures acculturate? Through anthropology – phenomenology, this research studies such acculturation through examining documents as the source of data. Phenomenology is applied to understand the interpretation of selametan, and normative approach is applied with Islamic perspective. The study reveals that Javanese people are well known in having a tradition and some rituals which become the description or manifestation of expression in daily lives. One of these inheritances is death selametan as a responsibility for the death families or relatives. Javanese people generally believe that the spirit of death people is still alive in the grave or in after life and in several times the spirit will leaves his home. The belief of Islamic Javanese people is it is obligatory to send prayers for the spirits; therefore it’s necessary to held selametan rituals.Kata Kunci: tahlilan, roh, sinkritisme, Islam Jawa
