Abstract

The moral-spiritual crisis in the western country has been the cause for the development of the value education concept. The Western concept of value is adopted from study of knowledge, in particular philosophy and social sciences, which is developed in the world of education with all its relative variants. The purpose of this paper is to know the concept of value and value education in the perspective of Western and Islamic knowledge. This paper was prepared as a comparative study between Islam and Western perspective on value with particular focus on philosophy, sociology and pedagogy by using library research. The paper concludes that value in Western conception is relative, created by human ratio and neglects the revelation, whilst Islam puts the revelation as a primary source of values which makes education in Islam means the value of education itself. Therefore, it should not be accepted by Muslims without adequate criticism, because there are some fundamental differences between the Western worldview and the Islamic worldview.

Abstract

Teachers should have good Pedagogic competence such as designing and implementing learning evaluation, including for Arabic language teacher. This competence will give an implications for improving students' learning outcomes. But in fact, the results of final examination for (Madrasah Ujian Akhir Madrasah Berstandar Nasional), the average score of Arabic from 2012 to 2016 is still relatively low (at 4.64). This study aims to determine the pedagogic competence of Arabic language as one of subject among teachers of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) in designing and implementing learning evaluation in Yogyakarta. This research uses a quantitative approach with statistical analysis. Data collection techniques using test methods, and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive statistics that are converted by Five Points Benchmark Reference Assessment. All testing was done with SPSS 16 for windows. The results of this study indicate that the highest score is 97, the lowest score is 13, while the mean is 64.73 and the standard deviation is 17.68. Based on the five-level of PAP, the results showed that the level of pedagogic competence among  Arabic  Teachers of MAN in Yogyakarta in designing and implementing evaluation learning  is quite sufficient. This is evidenced by the average score is above 65. From this research, it is expected to be an evaluation and suggestion for Arabic teachers to be more active in improving pedagogic competence in designing and implementing learning evaluation.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to explore the student’s comprehension of Islamic knowledge in the high school or similar institution in Pronorogo, to explore the teenager moral’s quality in the high school or similar institution in Ponorogo, and to explore the influence of comprehension of Islamic knowledge on teenager moral’s quality in Ponorogo. This research focused on three different institutions, which is the state school, Islamic madrasah schools, and Islamic boarding school known as pesantren. The object of this research is the students on high school’s age period, because in this period, students should has to learn many Islamic knowledge in their school and theirs moral attitude has been built. the result of analysis of research data and r table with N 300 with significance level 5%. The results of data analysis have been able to conclude that the hypothesis in accordance with this research is there is no influence from the understanding of Islamic education materials with the moral development of adolescents in Ponorogo.

Abstract

This article discusses the contribution of Syarif Hidayatullah in spreading Islam in the West of Jawa, Indonesia. This research is qualitative and historical studies. Existence of historical facts through text, structure, and culture became a reference in the study. The purpose of this paper is to describe the contributions related to the spread of Islam by Syarif Hidayatullah. Indication of his contribution in the spreading Islam was visible from some areas within the society. His contribution includes in the area of social, economic, cultural, artistic, spatial (dealing with space) and political. Syarif Hidayatullah treasures contribution in public life can be noticed when it has a strong influence on the development of the society in various fields. The essence of his activism is how the spread of Islam can thrive through the changes that happened within the society which inspire changes in various fields, especially in this Nusantara region.

Abstract

Education has an important and strategic role to ensure the development of cognitive intelligence, psychomotor and affective. Education aims to develop human potential and forms a good personality. However, current education loses humane aspects (dehumanization). This is due to the approach used for teaching based on the educator (teacher center) and not centered on learners (student center). The ultimate purpose of humanistic approach in education is the learning process that was started and is intended for the benefit of humanizing mankind. Humanizing humans, is to achieve self-actualization, self-understanding, and self-realization people to learn optimally. The concept of humanistic approach in education according to Freire is a process of liberation from the oppressive system and raised awareness of the critical processes centered on educators and learners as subjects in the process of teaching and learning. The implication of humanistic approach in education is how to educators to encourage students to think critically and act according to the values of humanity. Since then, the humanistic approach in education should be applied in the process of learning and teaching in order to produce a good learner and critical of reality.

Abstract

Development of education curriculum and instruction in language shows the need of the society to learn the language either to meet personal or social needs. And to meet those needs someone can study alone or through educational institutions. Needs of society related to language skills often change depending on the conditions of them, it is necessary to hold a coordination of language teaching in order to be able to meet those needs. Therefore, every teacher should plan before teaching. Some important things in learning the language include: 1) Arabic Language Teaching requires preparation and planning of good learning, teaching is likened to a process consisting of three elements that complement each other, namely: learning objectives, learning process, and evaluation of learning outcomes . 2) teachers should manage the desired language skills acquired after the end of the teaching process. 3) knowing about the needs of each student in every teaching program, and tailored to the teaching objectives that have been determined by each institution.

Abstract

Insha 'Arabi At-tahriri is one of the important subject in the Kulliyatul Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah (KMI) curriculum. However, in the implementation, it was found that most of them (60%) still scored below 6. This study aims to find the problems that exist in the learning of Insya 'Arabi At-tahriri amongs student or santri of KMI, especially fifth grade student. This research is a field research using descriptive qualitative analysis. This research takes place in Modern Islamic Boarding School of Darussalam Gontor Campus 2. The sample of this research includes the Vice-director of KMI, teacher of KMI, staff of KMI, and all the fifth-grade students of KMI. The results of this study indicate the problem of learning Insya caused by several source. From the internal students, such as the lack of ability to express the language in writing competence, the weak mastery of Arabic Material and psychological aspect like willingness and motivation. And the external aspect of student including their activities outside class such as joining organization. While the factor of teachers, the problematic learning occurs due to teacher teaching method, some of them do not use student learning center method. It cause the teaching process becomes monotonous and bit boring.

Abstract

Full day school comes from English Language. It means that full day school is a school which held in a day or education program that the activities held in school from morning to afternoon. The essential  meaning of full day school is not only add the time and give more learning materials. This policy raise pros and cons between education expert and the society as a subject and object in education. Nevertheless in the perspective of local wisdom, this program is one of institution which can solve moral decline in the country, since in fact it also apply the comprehensive teaching and learning activity. The discourse about FDS has got people’s attention, even it become polemic pros and cons among society, although the purpose of FDS is to built the better students’ character, it also help students’ parents who work full in a day and do not have time to handle their children, and parents able to prevent students’ activity from negativity or reduce negative influence outside from school, however there are some people who disagree with this plan.

Abstract

Among the basic needs that should be posessed by every people in this modern era is international language skill, included Arabic language. For moslems, Arabic language is not only language for Islam religion, but also international language and science. Realizing the importance of Arabic language in this modern era, pondok pesantren Sunan Drajat Paciran Lamongan then formulate the new way in Arabic language education . In the first time, it is oriented to deepen Islam religion, then it moved to Arabic language mastery to deepen Islam religion as a communication and science tool. Thus, to realize this new way, pondok pesantren Sunan Drajat establish the formal institution of foreign language development (Arab and English) and Arabic language department. The learning materials and activities not only focus on Arabic grammar (nahwu and shorof) but also in Arabic language skill (maharah al-istima’, maharah al-kalam, maharah al-qiro’ah and maharah al-kitabah). The learning process is not only inside the classroom, but also outside the classroom such as language laboratory, mosque, library, gardens by using varied methods, such as: qowaid wa tarjamah, mubasyaroh, muhadatsah, qiro’ah, and samiyah syafawiyah methods.  The learning resources are not only focus on kitab, but also using magazine, journal and internet. From that transformation, there are many differences and development in the activity of Arabic language learning, in the aspects of material, method, evaluation and learning resource.

Abstract

The Quran is the source of education that contains the doctrine, worship, wisdom, literature, stories, advice, guidance and so on. Sayyed Qutb in his interpretation in the shadows of the Qur’an, "Turns out about attending the Quran activity and the situation pleased as the first descent to the Messenger of God, to be inspired works as used to the past work and facilitates the understanding and studies on educational values which relate to human life with the doctrine and ethics”. In this research, the researcher used the descriptive analytic method to illustrate and discuss existing issues in order to understand the content of these issues and the knowledge of the research method in the Content Analytical Method to visualize the relevant. The result reached by the investigators on educational values in Surat Maryam Ayat 16-21 in an interpretation in the shadow of the Quran to Sayyid Qutb includes: (1) Monotheistic values are the call that contains the way to unite the people of the faith, (2) Moral values, which are an example of moral ethics and an invitation to preserve the dignity of women as well as the value of trusting God in all cases. The researcher suggests readers to: (1) Understand the interpretation of the Koran more detailed and good. (2) Knowing the values of education as contained in Surat Maryam verse 16-21. A specific references and value in-depth coverage of the researcher values moral doctrine.
