Abstract

This research tried to improve the test instrument at advanced calculus 2. The objectives of this research was to test instrument the valid and good based on problem solving. This research uses 4-D development model of Thiagarajan (1974) which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research only ended up at the stage of develop. Test validity processed by test proporsion, whereas testing of result analyzable by validity, and reliability. Product of the research show (1) the test instrument developed was proved to be valid by the validator with the following averaged scores 3,05 and 3,18 from the maximal averaged score 4, (2) the analysis of experiment producted test instrument which validity and reliability. Based on the overall findings from this research we can conclude that the test instrument were proved to be valid, and good. Key words : test instrument, problem solving, 4-D

Abstract

Every human being has two hemispheres of the brain that is the left brain and right brain. The left hemisphere is used to control mental activities that include mathematical skills, language, logic, analysis, writing, and similar activities, while the right hemisphere includes activity such as imagination, color, music, rhythm / rhythm, dreamy and activities similar. The theory of multiple intelligence trying to combine both the ability of the right and left hemispheres of the brain possessed by humans. So according to this theory people can have the ability / intelligence more than one to run its activities where the ability / intelligence is controlled by the right hemisphere and the left brain. All the people in general to be able to develop its intelligence-intelligence and intelligence diligently to train owned by the company in order to develop according to its potential. To educators and prospective educators in particular to be more selective and careful in identifying intelligence possessed by learners, as each protégé has a different intelligence who all wanted to get a good stimulus or response in order to develop intelligence. Abstract

ABSTRACTMany dynamic approaches have emerged due to computer technology infacilitating language learning. The use of Computer Assisted Language Learningin the teaching and learning becomes essential. Learning platform is used in thelearning process as a tool that is considered capable of attracting students’attention and increasing their motivation. It is then that underlies the number ofresearchers who are interested to raise the theme into the realm of both theoreticaland empirical research. This study reviewed fourteen journal articles to determinethe effect of presentation software, initially focused on Edmodo which is a freeand secure learning platform which is free of advertisements, games and otherdistractions used to provide a simple way for teachers to create and manageonline classroom, and enable students to connect with teacher and other studentsanywhere and anytime. Eight of them are empirical and others are theoretical.The constant comparative method proposed by Lincoln and Gub (1985) used toanalyse each article. As the results, this study found that learning platform,especially Edmodo, greatly support teaching and learning activities. It will bevery helpful for every person in the field of education such as students, teachers,and researchers in order to adopt this innovative technology for language learningand teaching.Keywords: Edmodo, learning platform, pedagogy

Abstract

This research aimed to improve the students’ ability of literature through PAKEM concept in teaching learning process using picture cards to the students of PGSD S1 academic year 2010-2011. The research was the class action research with the research subject of all students of The Elementary School Teacher Education S1 academic year 2010-2011 class D, which consisted of 51 students, 16 male students, and 35 female students. The research process was done in two cycles; each cycle consisted of 2 meetings. Each meeting consisted of 2 lecture-hours (2x50 minutes). To know the first condition, it was conducted the pre-test, and the data of pre-test was used as the basic action of the fist cycle. After delivering the material of poem by applying the concept of PAKEM using the media of picture cards, it was continued by the post-test of the first cycle. The data of post- test I was used as the action of the second cycle, and it was ended by the analysis and the reflection of all cycles. The data collection was done by using test and non-test. Using test was by pre-test and post-test, and non-test was by observation, interview and documentation. The source used to process the data was score or from the quantitative data (the poem- writing score) and qualitative data. The result of the processing data was used to describe the achievement of the action towards the improvement of the students’ literature appreciation through PAKEM concept using the media of picture cards. It could be proven from the result of the research, observation and evaluation. After the action, it was proven that students’ literature appreciation improved in writing poem. In the cycle 1, it was found that 52% of the students were successful and 48% of them were not yet successful with the average point of 72. In the cycle 2, it, it was found that 75% of the students were successful and 20% of them were not yet successful with the average point of 77. Based on this description, it was concluded that the application of PAKEM concept using picture cards could improve the literature appreciation of S1 PGSD students in academic year 2010-2011. Abstract

Basically, the duty of Indonesia teacher is not only to deliver a group of materials need to be mastered. But, it is also their duty to make the students accustomed to use Indonesian correctly. This article discusses about the trouble faced by Indonesia teacher in teaching activity. At least, there are 5 trouble faced by teacher in lesson teaching, they are (1) Indonesian teaching materials which are too complicated, (2) dynamic language development, (3) the influence of native language, (4) lack of attention from other subjects, and (5) imbalanced between teaching process and real life. These troubles can be solved through some steps, such as the simplification of Indonesian teaching materials, the function firmness between the usage of standard and non-standard language,hold continuous language construction, support from oher subjects, and support from other various social stratum. Abstract

This research is motivated by the creativity and innovation of teachers in making APE which is indispensable in developing children's science skills in schools resulting in less varied learning methods so that children are unable to construct their own knowledge of science and other knowledge. The purpose of this research is to find out how the experimental experiment through the rainbow water game runs in developing the scientific abilities of children aged 5-6 years. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at TK Aisyiyah 5 Rawalo. The results of this study develop the development of children's scientific abilities and can also develop six aspects of child development, namely cognitive, language, emotional, moral and religious development, physical-motor and art.

Abstract

This study entitled The Utilization of Van DerWijck Castle in Gombong, Kebumen Regency, Central Java as Tourist Attraction and Source of Learning History. The aims of this study are (1) to examine the utilization of Van Der Wijck Castle as tourist attraction, (2) the utilization of Van Der Wijck Castle as source of learning history, (3) the factors supporting and inhibiting the utilization of Van Der Wijck Castle in Gombong as tourist attraction and source of learning history. This study used qualitative approach. Data collection was performed by the following steps: (1) observation, (2) interview, (3) documentation. The main informants were manager and visitors of Van Der Wijck Castle tourist attraction. The analysis technique was Miles and Huberman qualitative data analysis consisting of data reduction, data display/presentation, and drawing conclusion or verification. The result of this study showed that Van Der Wijck Castle in Gombong was a Dutch colonial heritage building located in Sidayu Village, Gombong District, Kebumen Regency. The function of the castle has changed from Ducth Company station into a tourist attraction and source of learning history. Since 2000, Van Der Wijck Castle was used as a tourist attraction. The castle was used as source of learning history for students and society by taking the values that existed in the castle. The strategic location and the presence of adequate facility were supporting factors to Van Der Wijck Castle used as a tourist attraction and source of learning history. The inhibiting factor was the lack of public awareness of the tourism activities. Keywords: Van Der Wijck, historical tourism, source of learning history

Abstract

This research is aimed at describing the upgrading of volley ball set up skillthrough equipment modification. The method used in this research is Action Researchby using Kemmis and Mc Taggart model. The result of the research shows there is volleyball set up skill upgrading. This result can be proofed by students’ average percentagewhich is started from pre-cycle is 21,3%, in cycle I rises 53,6% and cycle II becomes85,7%. Therefore, the equipment modification application can help students inupgrading their volley ball set up skill and gives the students stimulation. Thisstimulation should be adapted with the condition of the material being taught. Thismodification can help students in comprehending and practicing volley ball set up skill.Keyword: volleyball set up, equipment modification

Abstract

Paper ini mendiskusikan gaya belajar siswa bahasa. Paper ini merupakan laporan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan sejalan dengan pemikiran bahwa siswa bahasa memiliki perbedaan dalam gaya belajar yang dapat diukur melalui kesukaan, kebutuhan, dan keinginan. Perbedaan gaya belajar siswa tersebut dapat terdeteksi melalui perbedaan sikap mereka terhadap tugas-tugas yang diberikan selama proses pembelajaran di kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa bahasa cenderung terkelompokkan menjadi dua gaya belajar yang berbeda yaitu field dependence dan field independence. Kata kunci: gaya belajar, gaya belajar siswa bahasa, field dependence, field independence.
