Abstract

This research conducted to analyze in depth about the communication process that started from the psychological (mental) symptoms that arise during the pandemic, communication partners, ideal communication approaches, and messages that conveyed in order to maintain mental health of students in Indonesia during the Covid-19. Through qualitative approach with case study method, this research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the researched problem. Researchers paid attention and examined an issue of interest, and used a single case as an instrument to describe it in detail. Result of this research showed that students are very at risk for mental health disorders during the pandemic. Symptoms that they experienced are anxiety disorders, stress, burnout, depression, loneliness and relationship problems. Family and friends are the most appropriate communication partners during the pandemic. The pandemic creates a revolution momentum to restore the role of the family for children. Interpersonal communication is still considered as the most ideal approach. The majority communication messages are emotional, spiritual and motivational messages. As a result of this research, it is hoped that the government and universities will increase the awareness of students' mental health because of the lack of counseling related to mental health for students.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the need for media, (2) describe the prototype of the card catalog media, (3) investigate the validity and practicality of the card catalog media used to increase early reading ability of students with mild intellectual disability. This study used research and development method with the research stages developed by Borg & Gall. The data of this study were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and validation instruments. The analysis was performed using the descriptive quantitative analysis with the percentage technique. Results showed that (1) the card catalog media was much needed by teachers and students with mild intellectual disability to improve early reading ability in students at SLBN (State Special Education School) Lutang Majene; (2) the prototype of the media that had been developed consisted of cards, equipped with drawers to store the cards; each card was in various colors and contained pictures, letters, syllables, and words; and (3) through restricted testing, the card catalog media was considered very valid, practical and feasible to be used in early reading activities for students with mild intellectual disability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce a website-based online counseling service application for guidance and counseling students and teachers at SMK Telkom Makassar. The approach of this research is R&D/Research and Development. This research was conducted through seven main stages, namely, (1) Initial research and information gathering, (2) Planning, (3)  Preparation of the initial model format, (4) conducting an early stagetrial, (5) revise the main model, (6) conduct a field trial of the main model, (7) revise the operational model. Testing of application products that are validated by 1 material expert and 1 expert on the distribution of learning media that has been developed. The method used to analyze the data is a quantitative descriptive analysis technique with a predetermined score distribution and scale category. The results of the validation of the learning media are: (1) The material expert assesses that it is very feasible with a percentage of (88.88%). (2) Media experts considered it very feasible with a percentage of (79.1%). Based on these results, the online counseling service application that has been developed is suitable for use in providing counseling services at SMK Telkom Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to focus on the implementation of counseling guidance in changing students' negative perceptions of counseling guidance, and knowing the facts about the implementation of counseling guidance. Counseling guidance teachers play an important role in the implementation of counseling guidance in schools, through appropriate implementation in making an improvement, generally these negative perceptions can be changed. where the lack of understanding of the role and duties of counseling guidance in schools triggers negative perceptions of the implementation of counseling guidance. Meanwhile, positive perceptions of students can arise if the counseling guidance teacher carries out the task, the role is in line with the code of ethics, and fulfills individual requirements as a teacher. This research uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method, research data is collected through interviews, observations, documentation, where to create results. better counseling guidance work, through increasing competence, professional improvement of counselors, implementing service innovations, using media supporting counseling guidance services, providing input to teachers and schools related to counseling guidance so that they pay more attention to their performance, counseling guidance programs are created and carried out in line with policy , so that students can understand, understand its existence and no longer have a negative perception of counseling guidance.

Abstract

This research aimed to see the relationship between positive thinking and social support with psychological well-being in UMPR PGSD students during online learning.  The research was conducted in Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya campus area. The subjects were UMPR PGSD students who had taken the 4th semester of college minimal or above in this research.  The sampling technique used purposive sampling with criteria. This research used quantitative method by correlational study approach. Data analysis method used correlational analysis technique or regression analysis in this research. This research result was found that there were significant relationship between positive thinking and social support with psychological well-being in UMPR PGSD students during online learning with correlation coefficient (R) of 0.707 which was converted to F Regression of 28.407 with significance level of 0.000 (p< 0.05). The conclusion of the research was that the higher positive thinking and social support obtained students, the higher psychological well-being on students will be followed, n the other hand, the lower the high of positive thinking and social support obtained students, the lower the psychological well-being on students will be followed.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a career guidance module based on life skills to increase work interest the mentally retarded students, and it is a Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall model, which has ten steps and was modified into eight steps. Data collection techniques used interviews and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The results are: The level of the needs of module obtained from the initial data collection stage, the planning stage showed that teachers of skill subject needed teaching materials in the form of modules to provide life skills-based career guidance according to the conditions, potential and work interests of mentally retarded students; readability test of the initial design of the module was obtained from the development stage of the FGD activity with the results of the good category, and the initial product was continued to the validity test; Validity test conducted by two expert lecturers on materials and media using the Gregory formula showed the very valid validity results and limited trial stage using the content validity test of the Aiken V formula showed the very valid results. The final product is a life skills-based career guidance module to increase work interest in high school mentally retarded students.

Abstract

Many parents are unaware that their child has dyslexia or commonly known as a learning disability. Dyslexia itself involves difficulty understanding letters and words, resulting in the child being unable to spell or read and write, and because of parental ignorance, the child may need educational and emotional support from teachers and parents. Despite being a special child who needs both of their needs, they are labeled stupid. The purpose of this study is to educate parents that there are many ways that both teachers and parents can teach dyslexic children. This study uses journal literature research methods and descriptive analysis using a variety of methods such as the syllable method, the Glass Analysis method, the multisensory method, and the Fernald method.

Abstract

This study aims to produce carrom media to improve the ability to read words of mild mentally retarded children. The study implemented the research and development design based on the research stages of Borg & Gall. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed through qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The object of this research is the modified Carrom learning media, with the research stages covering; 1) the information gathering stage; 2) the planning stage; 3) the product development stage, and 4) the design validation and revision stages. The results of this study are; needs analysis of grade 3 mentally retarded students at SLB Negeri 1 Makassar showed that teachers and students needed modified carrom as learning media, carrom media design/prototypes were modified starting fromplanning, product development, expert validation, and validity testing stages and the validation from the material experts showed that the media was considered valid and the validity level was in the very good category so that the modified carrom media deserved to be tested and resulted in a very good category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the need to develop a video-based guidance and counseling media on self-love for adolescents in Public Junior High School 21 Makassar (SMP N 21 Makassar) (2) a prototype of video guidance media about self-love for adolescents, and (3) the validity of the video-based guidance and counseling media on self-love for adolescents for students of SMP N 21 Makassar. This study is a research and development implementing Borg and Gall research model. A questionnaire, interviews, and scales were used to collect the data. The results of the research show that (1) video-based guidance and counseling media on self-love for adolescents is media needed by school counselors in SMP N 21 Makassar, (2) the video-based guidance and counseling media on self-love is developed in the form of audio-visual animation, and (3) the video-based guidance and counseling media on self-love developed to increase students' self-esteem is valid after meeting the criteria in feasibility testing, accuracy testing, and utility testing

Abstract

This research’s objective is to find the link between learning approach and learning achievement of medical education students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana Kupang. This research is an  analytical observational research with cross-sectional design that was conducted on medical education students of Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana Kupang. Sample was obtained by proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data was obtained using Revised Study Process Questionnaire 2-Factors (R-SPQ2F) on 160 respondent who met the inclusion criteria. Sample was analyzed bivariately using coefficient contingency statistical test. From the 160 respondents, data shows that the number of students who used the deep approach learning approach is 139 (86,9%) students, number of students who used the surface approach is 21 (13,1%) students. For the various category of learning achievements that the students acquire is commendation category with the total of 121 (75,6%) students, very satisfying category with the total of 39 (24,4%) students, satisfying category with the total of 0 students. Bivariate analysis shows results of p value = 0,631 and r value = 0,038.
