Abstract

Cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.) that includes or creeping vines and is one type of vegetable-fruit of the gourd family labuan (Cucurbitaceae) that has been popular throughout the world and favored from Asia. Cucumber cultivation in Indonesia, found almost in every region, ranging from lowland to highland hot climate (tropical) and moderate. One animal that has an abundant amount in cucumber plants are insects. This study aims to know the different types of species that exist on the Order Coleoptera cucumber farm in the village of Tirta Mulya District of makarti Jaya Banyuasin II and determine the role of the Order Coleoptera insects on cucumber plantations in the village of Tirta Mulya District of makarti Jaya Banyuasin II. This is a qualitative study conducted in October-November 2014 held in Cucumber Plants in the village of Tirta Mulya District of makarti Jaya Banyuasin II. Catching insects done using transect method and pitfall traps such as sweeping the net, pit fall traps and light traps, results in identification in the laboratory penelitanya UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The results of this study indicate that insects are caught in a cucumber plantation obtained as many as 113 individual 3 families and 7 species. Insects which dominates in the village of Tirta Mulya District of makarti Jaya Banyuasin II is Cocinella repanda, Curinus coeruleus, Coelophora inaequalis, and Aulacophora similis, and insects that have the fewest number is Micraspis discolor, Micraspis vincta and Oryctes rhinoceros. The role of the Order Coleoptera Insects in general predators of the family Coccinellidae to eradicate mites while the family Chrysomelidae Scarabacidae and are pests that attack on cucumber plants that can cause death.

Abstract

Snail and rice water has a very high protein content so the snail meat and rice water can be used as an additional food that is good for eel. Giving snail and rice water as a feed supplement in the eel (Monopterus albus) is expected to boost growth in the eel. This study aimed to determine the effect of snails and rice water on the growth of eel (Monopterus albus) and know Where feed to get optimal results on the growth of eel (Monopterus albus). Research conducted at the Laboratory of MIPA IAIN Raden Fatah Palembang. This study used a Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) with 4 treatments and 6 replications. Such treatment is A : pellets 4.5 grams, B : 150 ml of rice water + 3 grams of snail, C : 100 ml rice water + 3.5 grams of snail, D : 50 ml rice water + 4 grams of snail. The analysis showed that the highest growth in treatment D is 50 ml rice water + 4 grams of snail. The conclusion is giving snail and rice water in the eel (Monopterus albus) significant effect on the growth of the body's weight and length of the eel.

Abstract

The research on the effect of adding coal ash residue in the planting media on the growth of Chili (Capsicum annum L) has been carried out, the purpose of the study was to determine the effect of coal ash mixed in the planting medium on the growth of Chili (C. annum L). This method was used a completely randomized experiment (RAL) consists of 7 treatmens with 3 replications. P0 (as a control), P1 (medium mixed with 2 grams of residual ash coal) P2 (4gr), P3 (6gr), P4 (8 g), P5 (10gr), P6 (12gr). Parameters measured were plant height, root length, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight, and time when of the first fruit is appear. The data were analyzed with F test, the results showed that the coal ash residue has no real effect on the growth parameters, the maximum effect of the dose is at P5 10gr. The data obtained on plant height parameter are 39.67 cm, 25 cm root length, shoot fresh weight 16.40 grams, 3.38 gram wet weight root, shoot dry weight of 3.1 grams, 1,1gr root dry weight and the appearance of the first fruit is on P4 that 52.3 days.

Abstract

The problem of education and teaching is a fairly complex problem in which many factors that come into effect. One of these factors include instructional media. Phenomena that occur in the field in teaching and learning activities are still centered on the teacher, student activities monotonous, many students receive the teacher's explanation, and student learning outcomes obtained unfavorable. The problem in this research is how to use instructional media torso toward student learning outcomes and whether there is influence learning media usage torso toward student learning outcomes. On the subject of human digestive system in SMP Negeri 19 Palembang held on July 27, 2015 until August 14, 2015. The purpose of the study is to examine the use of learning media torso toward student learning outcomes on the material in the human digestive system in SMP Negeri 19 Palembang , which includes planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as to determine the effect of the use of learning media torso toward student learning outcomes on the material in the human digestive system in SMP Negeri 19 Palembang. The method in this research is quantitative experiments using t-test analysis. Posttest value analysis results obtained thitung price > ttable or 3.193 > 2.66. This indicate that the rejected Ha Ho accepted that hypothesis states that "There is the influence of the use of learning media torso toward student learning outcomes on the material in the human digestive system in SMP Negeri 19 Palembang

soil Worm and knowing Waste to own womb very high protein until Soil Worm and knowing Waste can to be used as the good addition food to betok's fish. with fish age betok 4 month Soil Worm Giving and knowing Waste to be expected can to level it growing to Fish Betok. this Research have go to know the influence of Soil Worm-giving and Waste Know in Fish growing Betok (Anabas testudineus) and to know foodwhich is to get it result that maximal in Fish growing Betok (Anabas testudineus). the Research is executed in Laboratory TO MIPA UIN Raden Fatah Palembang . This Research to use it Random Planing Complete (RAL) with 4 Treatment and 6 Repeating. The mentioned Treatment is P0= pelet, P1= knowing waste 8 gr and soil worm 4 gram, P2= knowing Waste 6 gr and soil worm 6 gr, P3= Soil Worm 8 gr and knowing waste 4 gr. show analysiical Result that growing grew highest to long of fish to treatment P3=4,36 cm and lowest 1,96 cm. To highest heavy to treatment P3= 4,76 gr, and lowest 1,5 gr. Its conclusion is Soil Worm giving and Waste Know to fish Betok (Anabas testudineus) influency in long growing and heavy of body betok's fish

Abstract

Actinomycetes are soil organisms that have traits that are common to bacteria and fungi but also have quite different characteristics that limit into one group which is distinctly different. Study aimed to explore the mangrove actinomycetes from soil and tested the antibacterial potency. Soil samples taken from the mangrove land at Tanjung Api-api mangrove species Sonneratia caseolaris. Activity test antibacterial using a method modified disk a test bacterium Escherichia coli. Identification isolates of actinomycetes by observing the character of macroscopic colonies, microscopic conidia. The results showed that the obtained three different actinomycetes isolates, 1 isolate has the most potential ability to inhibit bacterial growth test with an average value of 1:13 cm in inhibiting the bacteria Escherichia coli.

Abstract

Manalagi  mango fruit (Mangifera indica L)  is one of fruits containing lots of vitamin C and it can be processed into mango dried candied. This research is aimed to determine the levels of vitamin C in the mango dried candied that is sold in modern markets in Palembang and to contribute about biology subject at senior high school / madrasah aliyah. The methods of this study is the idiometri test. This study uses the form control manalagi fresh mango fruit. Samples are taken from several modern market in Palembang city by using simple random sampling method. The result of the test iodimetri along with qualitative test on sample 4 and 6 do not contain vitamin C, while in sample 1, 2, 3, and 5 contain vitamin C which is an average of the levels of vitamin C in the sample 1 of 4.78 mg / 100 gr, 2 sample of 3.66 mg / 100 g, 3 sample of 2.64 mg / 100 g, 5 sample of 5.22 mg / 100 g. This shows manalagi fresh mango fruit is processed into dried candied still have high levels of vitamin C which is quite high when compared to the levels of vitamin C in control in the amount of 3.08 mg / 100 g. Contributing to education that is presented in the form of lesson plans, worksheets and posters. The contribute of  biology subject to the education is presented in the form of  lesson plans, worksheets and posters

Abstract

The result comparison of Biology student by using cooperative learning type Two Stay Two Stray with Demonstration method (an experiment in Junior High Scool of Adabiyah Palembang. The purpose of this research is to find out the result of comparison between the students that learn by cooperative learning  typeTwo Stay Two Stray with Demonstration method. This research was done in junior high scool of Adabiyah Palembang in VII.1 grade which consists of 35 students. The data of learning results was taken by using the test instrument of learning result (24 item) and the observation sheets of the implemention of the t-test with 5% significant percentage. It can be seen fron the result of the posttest, t count table (2,96> 2,00). It means Ho rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a difference between the Biology learning result of student who has been taught with the cooperative learning approach type Two Stay Two Stray and the Demonstration method with the mean from learning Two Stay Two Stray are 76,00 mean while, in the Demonstration method is only 65,43 so the result of the class which uses Two Stay Two Stray learning method is better than Demonstration method.

Abstract

Fish as a source of animal protein has several advantages over other animal protein sources, one source of animal protein that is Dumbo catfish. Dumbo catfish fish including fish which is most easily accepted by society. This study aimed to determine the effect of feeding on African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) using chicken intestine and tofu on the growth of catfish. This study was conducted on August 24, 2015 until 24 September 2015. The parameters observed in this study were weight and length. The study was conducted using a randomized block design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 4 groups: feeding by comparing the administration of fish feed manufactured in the form of pellets 100% (control), feed chicken intestines 100%, the feed pulp out of 100%, and chicken intestine feed pulp 50% + 50% Fish test with a weight of 20 grams and 12 cm. With other factors such as pH and temperature equated water. Feeding 2 times a day for 30 days of maintenance. The results showed that there was significant difference between the treatment given to the growth of the weight and length of catfish, feed A1 (chicken intestine 100%) gave the best growth of the African catfish and significantly different from other treatments (P <0.05). Absolute growth of 39.1 grams with a length of 31,2 cm

Abstract

Legen is neutralizing bitter taste of herbs commonly used by herbalist. The sweet taste at the legen suspected of using artificial sweeteners. Cyclamate is one of the most common artificial sweetener used in food or beverages. In the world of education cyclamate included in class VIII SMP biology syllabus. The purpose of this research is in the legen contained cyclamate or not and the application of the experimental method (practicum) legen testing on student learning outcomes. Cyclamate content test study conducted in June 2015 and the application of the experimental method in August 2015. The method used in the testing of cyclamate is a deposition method while in the learning process used an experimental method (practicum). The results show that all samples tested legen containing cyclamate and exceeding the threshold is an average of the sample 1 (6 g / L), sample 2 (5.33 g / L), sample 3 (5.46 g / L), samples 4 (8.93 g / L) and sample 5 (6.26 g / L) while research using experimental method (practicum) menunjukka F count> F table (3.73> 2.66). The conclusion from this research that all traders use cyclamate exceeds the specified threshold and use of the experimental method affects the learning process on learning outcomes.
