Abstract

This research aims to determine the dimensions of Islamic theology based on the verses of the Koran which are analyzed based on Asbab al-Nuzul. Islamic theology not only includes an understanding of Allah and His teachings, but also includes an understanding of the relationship between humans and their creators, as well as the daily life implications of these teachings. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Thus, the results of this research show that first, the concept of monotheism of Allah as contained in the QS. al-‘Alaq verses 1-5, highlights the greatness and oneness of Allah as the creator of the universe and the source of all knowledge. These verses emphasize the importance of science and education in the Islamic religion, as well as strengthening the theological foundation of Islam about the oneness of Allah and the importance of learning. Second, the concept of the afterlife or doomsday, taking into account Asbab al-Nuzul, especially in the QS. al-Qiyamah verses 6-9, emphasizes the truth and certainty of resurrection and the Day of Judgment, as well as the importance of preparation and responsibility in the afterlife for every individual. These verses confirm Muslims' belief in the Day of Judgment as an integral part of their beliefs. Third, the concept of freedom in Islam, which is analyzed through Asbab al-Nuzul QS. Yusuf verse 99, emphasizes the importance of freedom to choose forgiveness and forgiveness, freedom from hostility and revenge, and freedom in achieving spiritual salvation. This verse provides an example of the importance of choosing the path of peace and forgiveness in human relationships. Thus, the text provides an in-depth understanding of Islamic theological concepts, including the concepts of Allah, the afterlife, and freedom, and shows how these concepts are reflected in the verses of the Qur'an by considering Asbab al-Nuzul.

Abstract

The development of science and technology today shows two contradictory faces. On the one hand, science and technology provide so much convenience for humans, but on the other hand it also provides so many serious, complex and multidimensional global crises such as the environmental crisis. Therefore, this paper tries to “see” the Sufistic approach as the spiritual (esoteric) dimension of Islam towards nature in order to contribute positively to efforts to overcome the environmental crisis. This research is a library-based research with a qualitative approach. Through library research, it is found that Sufism with its doctrines such as wahdat al-wujud, al-insan al-kamil, amanah-khalifah, as well as its practical guidance through maqamat and ahwal, 'ilm and 'amal, can contribute positively in changing the worldview of modern humans who are anthropocentric into spiritualists. Because with these doctrines, modern humans are invited to rediscover the vision of divinity that they have left behind, and understand that nature is a theophany (tajalli) of God that cannot be separated from God Himself. They are also required to treat nature responsibly, as it is an amanah to them as God's khalifah on earth.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the meaning of the al-Laghwu hadith during Friday prayers. This is motivated by the fact that in current conditions many Friday prayer congregations carry out activities during the sermon which could be said to fall into the al-Laghwu category. By using descriptive-analytical qualitative methods and a ma'ani al-hadith science approach, this article concludes that the meaning of al-Laghwu in the Prophet's hadith is a futile act that can reduce the reward and perfection or primacy of Friday prayers. The meaning of al-Laghwu is not only limited to the text of the hadith, namely speaking or admonishing others to be silent when the preacher is delivering his sermon. In the current context, the meaning of al-Laghwu can also be interpreted as sleeping during the sermon, playing on mobile phones such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, games and similar activities, and distributing charity boxes. These actions cause the congregation to lose focus in listening to the sermon delivered by the preacher and also disturb other congregation members. Even though it is included in the al-Laghwu category and reduces the reward and perfection of Friday prayers, the Friday prayers performed are still considered valid.

Abstract

Discussions about the relationship between religion and the state always occur in a stigmatic atmosphere. This is because first, the relationship between religion and state in Islam is the most impressive thing in human history. Second, throughout history, the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims (European Christians) has been a relationship full of tension. This article examines the relationship between religion and the state from an Islamic perspective. By using qualitative methods and descriptive-analytical data analysis techniques, this article concludes that firstly, religion is a statute or law that must be obeyed by humans, while the state in the Islamic perspective is an area of power that has territorial boundaries, in In this area there are groups, religious human associations, there are rulers, there is justice and a safe atmosphere is created, the soil is fertile, and there are future generations. Second, the problem of the relationship between religion and the state has emerged in a series of polemics and debates that have occurred in the Islamic world. One of these debates occurred during the Turkish revolution under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal in 1924, which resulted in the abolition of the caliphate in al-Khulafa’ al-Rasyidun, namely the title for the four caliphs who led after the Prophet Muhammad died. In understanding the relationship between religion and the state, there are several concepts of the relationship between religion and the state according to several schools/understandings, including: theocracy, secondary ideology, and communist ideology.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the wisdom of the Prophet Muhammad's polygamy according to Ali al-Shabuni in his book Rawai' al-Bayan. This is based on the fact that there are different perspectives where polygamy is considered a negative action. Apart from that, polygamy is also alleged to be an act that can hurt women and only favors men. However, Islam allows polygamy on condition that the husband can treat all his wives fairly. This refers to the QS explanation. al-Nisa' [4]: 3 which is seen as an argument for the legalization of polygamy. By using a qualitative-descriptive method, this article concludes that: First, Ali al-Shabuni views marriage as a form of sunnah, while for men who are polygamous with more than four wives it is forbidden. In other words, al-Shabuni allows polygamy as long as it meets the terms and conditions set by Islam. Second, the polygamous marriage practiced by the Prophet Muhammad according to Ali al-Shabuni contains four lessons that deserve attention, namely the teaching aspect, the legal aspect, the social aspect and the political aspect. From the four wisdoms mentioned by al-Shabuni, it appears that the Prophet's goal of polygamy was for the sake of religion and explaining religious law, especially to subdue the hearts of human opponents so that they could be attracted to embrace Islam and be able to establish good relations. In each of his marriages, the Prophet showed concrete evidence indicating his intelligence and courage, the height of his ideals and the beauty of his behavior. The Prophet's marriage was also not based on the satisfaction of sexual desire, because the Prophet when he was polygamous was not in his teens and the ones he married were not even girls.

Abstract

The world of children is always close to the world of stories. However, it is unfortunate that today the stories that are very close to children are imaginative stories so that children are more familiar with the characters of fictional characters compared to the characters and cities that they should really know. Stories in the Qur'an should always be presented to children in a style and presentation that suits them. One of the efforts that have been made is the book Tales of Cities in the Qur'an by Rani Yulianty. This study was conducted using library research method by taking samples from 12 city stories contained in the book. This research focuses on the method of storytelling in the book and its advantages and disadvantages. This research reveals something new in the delivery of stories for early childhood, especially in terms of the story of the cities in the Qur'an. The results of this study indicate that the method of delivering the story of the Cities in the Qur'an by Rani Yulianty uses visualization, pictures, ornaments, and comic methods. The advantages of this book use light language so that it is easy to understand for children, has good visualization by displaying the location and description of the city and many interesting games for children. This book is lacking in terms of not including important lessons or taking conclusions at the end of each city story presented, the author is more likely to convey it in general on the last page of the book.
