Abstract

Most residents in Sokawera Village work as farmers. Population income figures are relatively low, averaging less than IDR 10,000/capita/day. Sokawera village has local potentials that have not been optimally managed, namely independent cattle farms and smallholder coconut plantations. The aim of this activity is to empower the community to optimize the management of eco-friendly integrated agriculture sourced from local potential to support the realization of an energy self-sufficient village. The strategy used in this activity is through the PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) approach through the methods of education, training, demonstration plots, and assistance and are equipped with learning techniques while working (learning by doing). This activity began with the implementation of extension activities and transfer of knowledge about the benefits of eco-friendly integrated agriculture, training on the making and utilization of local resources to support the optimization of the management of eco-friendly integrated farming systems such as cattle dung into biogas, biogas waste into liquid and solid organic fertilizers, and coconut shell waste into liquid smoke biopesticides, training in making demonstrations and plots (demonstration plots) of healthy vegetable cultivation, training in processing local agricultural products into value-added products, and training in product marketing strategies through the design and manufacture of attractive product packaging. This activity provides knowledge and skills to the target community regarding the management of local potential such as cow dung waste and coconut shell to optimize environmentally friendly integrated agriculture. This activity is also a starting point for the realization of an energy self-sufficient village. Biogas which is processed from livestock manure is used successfully to replace LPG.

The methods of implementation include counseling, training, focus group discussion, mentoring, as well as the development of land examples IFS. By implementing IFS, then the environment of cow cage becomes cleaner, increased livestock feed from fermented corn waste (silage), the production of organic fertilizer, the existence of renewable energy from cow dung (biogas), and the emergence of Employment from the organic fertilizer business. But in the implementation of the empowerment activities are experienced several obstacles, such as farmers who are not accustomed to use organic fertilizer and ranches who are not accustomed to use silage as livestock feed. Thus it is necessary to mentoring and suppervision both farmers and ranches on the implementation at the following year.

Abstract

The existence of Indonesia as a country with the largest number of Muslim societies in the world is an allure for foreign producers, coupled with the preference of people who are relatively more interested in imported products resulting in Indonesia's domestic market being flooded with imported products. This condition is a bit dangerous for Muslim consumers when it is associated with the lack of halal awareness in Indonesian society, so that the activities of community awareness are needed, one of which is in the form of socialization activities. This article aims to evaluate the socialization activities carried out among Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic Senior High School) students in Rancaekek Bandung. The socialization activities are carried out using the seminar method in the form of lectures with questions and answers and simulation methods in the form of simulation exercises. Meanwhile, the evaluation of the socialization activities was carried out by conducting pre-test and post-test with the help of IBM SPSS version 21 to measure the effect of socialization on the knowledge of the students of Madrasah Aliyah Persis 24 Rancaekek related to the halal of imported products. From the test results obtained, it can be concluded that the socialization activities carried out succeeded in increasing the knowledge of the students of Madrasah Aliyah Persis Rancaekek regarding the importance of the halal status of imported products circulating in the community.

The training was attended by the village and sub-district staff of Samarinda City, as many as 50 people. The method used is 1) giving theoretical and practical knowledge about data collection and processing 2) assignment of making land boundaries per area, 3) presentation of results in the field and 4) output (boundary map). The results of this activity were: First, all participants of this training activity were very enthusiastic, enthusiastic, and had high motivation to take part in the implementation of the second boundary land making training activity, the participants who succeeded in making a land boundary map of 25 people or 50% of 50 participants. Third, the quality of the maps is quite good. They found differences in boundary map shape between version Samarinda City Bappeda and field data collection. Based on field data from the Bugis Kelurahan staff, the shape of the land boundary map in the Bugis sub-district in Samarinda almost resembles the land boundary map of Samarinda City of 2.5 ha, because Samarinda City Bappeda does not include the Segiri GOR Stadium as an area of Bugis sub-district that should be included as a map of the border. The map results from Samarinda Kota sub-district staff were recombined by sub-district and sub-district lurah to be determined as a map of sub-district Kota Samarinda and displayed in the A0 printout in each of the kelurahan offices located in sub-district Samarinda Kota.

Abstract

The integrated cattle and oil palm system is part of an excellent program of the Bangka Tengah Regency to increase the production of plantation and livestock. The benefit of the system is ensuring the availability of the animal feed derived from oil palm plantation waste while the feces of cattle is potential in producing the fertilizer for oil palm. The community service aims to alter the paradigm of the society on the integrated cattle and oil palm system as well as to empower the people to implement the system. Four steps were used as the methods to implement the programs are preparation; socialization; simulation; and monitoring and evaluation. Qualitative descriptive was employed to analyze the data. The program found that 90% of stock farmers agreed that the system was easily doable. The stock farmers were able to use the probio_Fm technology in implementing the system by making the silage made from the oil palm plantation waste. The knowledge of beneficiaries had increased and their behavior in feeding activities had positively altered through the program. It was found that the livestock required a week to adapt to the silage as the fermented materials in the probio-Fm technology. The use of a chopping machine was able to be a choice as it was able to produce the smoother chopped midrib. It concludes that the system is sustainably used to be implemented by Tunas Baru stock farmer.
