Abstract

This study elaborates on the perceptions and expectations of students from pre-prosperous families towards Islamic education held at the Pondok Pesantren Darul Muttaqien Kayuagung during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study employs a phenomenological approach. This study concludes that policies offering convenience and flexibility in paying tuition are mostly accountable for the santri selecting them over public educational institutions. The majority of respondents believe that the benefits of graduating from an Islamic boarding school include an improvement in their status in the community due to their position as ustadz or ustadzah or having a respectable career to raise their standard of living. This study confirms the belief that Islamic boarding schools serve the community as moral education centers and as social institutions that accommodate the educational needs of students from pre-prosperous families. The findings of this study support Paulo Freire's conscientization theory, which holds that education can inspire individuals to take action to improve socio-cultural realities by mobilizing themselves to progress their social status.

Abstract

Declarative and procedural knowledge are the two knowledge systems in the second language acquisition process. Declarative knowledge is more prevalent in Indonesia when it comes to the teaching and learning of Arabic. Thus, Arabic education in Indonesia focuses more on knowledge and memorization of grammar. Meanwhile, procedural knowledge is often overlooked. This research aims to present procedural knowledge system as the alternative to transform the Arabic learning in Indonesia. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative model. This research found that several language patterns need to be mastered to achieve optimal procedural knowledge. These patterns require appropriate learning strategies. Metacognition is the main key in conducting self evaluation in preparing learning strategies. This article describes ninepatterns in Arabic that should be mastered for activating the learner's procedural knowledge.

Abstract

Despite research on Surah Al-Falaq and the Hamka's educational values ​​ have been carried out by several researchers, a study integrating educational values ​​in Surah Al-Falaq from the Hamka perspective has never been studied. This study examines the theological, ecological, and humanist values in Surah Al-Falaq from Hamka's perspective. Through library research, a descriptive-analytical method was in this study. The formal object of this research is Tafsir Al-Azhar, while the material object is Surah al-Falaq. Some conclusions were drawn from this study. First, the value of theological education in Surah A-Falaq includes 1) Allah as the best place to ask for help and protection; 2) Obedience and tawhid to Allah minimize evil in the human's heart. Second, the value of ecological education includes 1) Being grateful to God for His favors by loving nature; 2) Fostering a conservative and preventive attitude towards nature. Third, the value of humanist education includes 1) Preventing dangers in life; 2) Cultivating social harmony to minimize social inequality.

Abstract

Education is essential for humans in facing the complex life. In Islam, the first education starts from the family. The family is the initial environment that forms and grows individual personality through habitual instillation by parents. The purpose of this research is to discuss Islamic religious education in the family through a socio-cultural perspective. The method used by researchers is library research method by collecting literature sources from books, journals, and other related articles. This study found that the development of sociocultural education in Muslim families can be carried out through three aspects, helping each other, community unity and brotherhood of community. In constructing these socio-cultural values, parents play an important role in providing exemplary education, habits, advice, attention, rewards and punishments for children in accordance with Islamic law.

Abstract

The Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Forward Indonesia cabinet, Nadim Makarim, issued the Merdeka Belajar as a concept of national education in the disruption era. In Merdeka Belajar, Students are offered advantages and possibilities to study based on their interests and career aspirations. This study analyzed the concept of Merdeka Belajar from the view of constructivism. The constructivist paradigm aims to interpret the world, understand life, and create meaning. This library research aims to understand the philosophical paradigm of the concept of Merdeka Belajar. The results of this study were generated from relevant sources such as scientific journals, books, theses, and dissertations. This study reveals links between the concept of Merdeka Belajar and Constructivism that both emphasize freedom, flexibility, and independence for educational institutions. Students are not bound by strict rules. Knowledge can be obtained from everyday experience.

Abstract

Although the majority of Makassar population are Muslim, the current development causes the implementation of Islamic religious values decreasing. Makassar Muslim’s commitment began to be weakened by the ever-increasing influence of others’ customs and cultures. This study aims to determine the urgency of Islamic religious education and the strategies used to instil the values of Islamic religious education in creating a divine generation. The researchers use qualitative research methods in trying to interpret the phenomena that occur through interview and documentation techniques. The result of the study indicates that despite neglected by many, the small circles of Makassar Muslim community is still persistent in carrying out Islamic teachings in. However, there must be holistic strategy to instil Islamic teachings values within the larger society containing the role of family, school, and society.

Abstract

Kampus Mengajar is one of the programs from the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) which was initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. During the Kampus Mengajar program, students carry out various programs to achieve equity and improve the quality of education in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to examine how the sustainability of programs that have been initiated by students, after the Kampus Mengajar program is completed. This research will be carried out in several schools located in the Kampus Mengajar in Yogyakarta. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data that has been checked for validity using source triangulation, then analyzed using 3 stages of analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the programs implemented by students generally include 3 aspects, namely: learning programs, administrative programs, and technology adaptation programs. The sustainability of these programs can be classified into 3 levels, namely: the program continues according to the implementation carried out by the students, the program continues with adjustments from the implementers at the school, and the program does not continue after the students complete the Kampus Mengajar program.

Abstract

Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) is government policy to enrich different learning experiences and practical skills. However, this new policy is subject to be interpreted and adapted into established existing curriculum. The aim of the research is to identify and analyze the interpretation and implications of MBKM policy in developing the curriculum of the Islamic Religious Education Study Program. Content analysis is used and reinforced by interview data. It is shown that the Islamic Religious Education study program interprets the MBKM policy as an effort to expand sources and learning media, as well as enrich perspectives in the learning process. The implication is developing the curriculum through expanding learning programs based on teaching assistance, research, community service, and edupreneurship initiatives, as well as facilitating students in the independent campus program.

Abstract

Amidst the ongoing violence in the name of religion, it is important to instill the values of religious moderation in society. Schools, as important agents in community education, require specific strategies to cultivate these values. This research aims to describe the concept of interfaith moderation and the stages of its internalization in schools to foster tolerance. In this study, the researcher employs a qualitative descriptive research design. Data collection and processing are conducted through literature review and qualitative analysis. Data is gathered from books, scholarly journal articles, and other relevant sources, and then analyzed. This study argues that religious moderation is a balanced attitude in the application of religious teachings. It is important to internalize this attitude in students at school to foster tolerance towards individuals with different beliefs, particularly due to the continued existence of violence carried out in the name of religion. There are three stages of instilling the values of religious moderation: value transformation, value transaction, and value transinternalization. In schools, these stages are carried out through formal and hidden curricula.

Abstract

The spread of false information, or hoaxes, occurs swiftly in cyberspace. Often, this widespread information has significant impact on people's lives. Unfortunately, hoaxes have targeted the youth, who represent the future generation. Therefore, it is of paramount importance for education to provide young students with comprehensive guidance on how to navigate and mitigate the impact of hoaxes. Hence, the objective of this study is to address hoaxes by examining the strategies employed by Prophet Muhammad and incorporating these strategies into Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The study employed a qualitative approach, specifically a literature review, to gather pertinent data related to the research. Primary and secondary sources were utilized as the data sources. Data analysis techniques involved condensing and evaluating the collected data, followed by the interpretation, conclusion, and verification of the selected data. The study's findings indicate that Prophet Muhammad employed four strategies to combat hoaxes: emotion management, discussion, broadening perspectives, and clarification. These strategies can be integrated into PAI, encompassing both curricular and extracurricular activities.
