Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter tokoh yang terdapat dalam novel Sebelas Patriot karya Andrea Hirata. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif, yakni metode yang berusaha untuk menggambarkan suatu hal yang sebenarnya. Dalam kegiatan mengumpulkan data penelitian, peneliti menggunakan tiga teknik, yakni membaca, dokumentasi, dan mencatat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 16 tokoh dengan karakter yang berbeda-beda di antaranya, (1) Ikal yang mempunyai karakter pekerja keras dan cepat putus asa, (2) ayah ( si bungsu ) mempunyai karakter tangguh.  pendiam dan baik, (3) Ibu mempunyai karakter keras, (4) Mahar mempunyai karakter yang rajin, (5) Pemburu Tua mempunyai karakter baik, (6) Pelatih Amin mempunyai karakter pintar, (7) Van Holden mempunyai karakter jahat, (8) Rusli Makadam mempunyai karakter pengecut, (9) Lim Kiauw mempeunyai karakter pengecut, (10) A Sin merupakan tokoh yang tidak digambarkan karakternya melainkan digambarakan sebagai pelatih dan pemilik klub bulu tangkis, (11) Satari merupakan tokoh yang tidak digambarkan karakternya melainkan digambarkan sebagai seorang pengamat sepak bola, (12) tiga bersaudara mempunyai dua karakter pemberani dan kompak, (13) Pelatih Toharun mempunyai karakter keras dan lembut, (14) Asisten Toharun mempunyai karakter kurang waras, (15) Margarhita Vargas mempunyai karakter baik, (16) Adriana mempunyai karakter baik dan pecinta sepak bola.Kata kunci: tokoh, karakter, perjuangan, novel, strukturalismeAbstrakThe purpose of this research is to analyze the character in novel “Sebelas Patriot” by Andrea Hirata. In this research, the researcher applies qualitative descriptive method. This method tries to portray the real facts. The researcher uses three techniques in collecting data, such as reading, documentation, and taking note. The collected data then analyzed by using three techniques, such as identification, classification, and analysis. The result of analysis indicates that the author describes 16 diferent characters, such as (1) Ikal, the author describes as a tough worker but always in despair. (2) ayah ( si bungsu ), has a strong and good character but mostly in silence. (3) ibu as a tough character. (4) Mahar, a diligent character. (5) Pemburu Tua, is described as a good character. (6) Pelatih Amin, is described as a clever character. (7) Van Holden, described as an antagonist character. (8) Rusli Makadam. As a coward character. (9) Lim Kiauw, is also described as a coward character. (10) A Sin, is described vaguely in the story, the author only describes as the couch and owner of a badminton club. (11) Satari, is also described vaguely in the story, the author only describes as a commentator of football match. (12) Tiga Bersaudara, memiliki karakter pemberani dan kompak. (13) Pelatih Toharun, the author describes this character as a strong as well as a delicate person. (14) Asisten Toharun, is described as irrational person. Abstract

The economic system of Islam is an integral part of Islamic law that a complete and universal.Aiming to achieve prosperity and happiness of human life in this world and hereafter (Falah).The development of the economic system of Islam in Indonesia along with the entry process andthe development of Islamic law in Indonesia. The process of entry and the development of theeconomic system of Islam in Indonesia strongly supported and influenced the social conditions,culture, community activities and religious system adopted by the people of Indonesia. Islamarrived in Indonesia with trade missions and preaching greatly facilitate the acceptance andimplementation of the economic system of Islam in Indonesia, where most of the kingdoms inIndonesia is located in the coastal areas which most economic activity is trade. The collapse ofthe kingdom of Srivijaya and Majapahit kingdoms rose and encourage the formation of theIslamic empire in many coastal areas in Indonesia. So that the establishment of the Islamicempire that begins with propaganda, acculturation with the local culture as well as interaction intrade accelerates economic growth and development of Islam in Indonesia. The role of Islam inIndonesia economic power affects people very vital for the fight against colonialism, the nationalmovement, the formation of the country's economic, scientific studies and Islamic institutionalstrengthening economy.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas kajian semiotik Kesenian Rengkong khas Warungkondang Cianjur dengan tujuan menginterpretasi makna yang terkandung pada segala macam peralatan, bahan, kostum Kesenian Rengkong. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat tiga tanda atau lambang yang termasuk dalam kategori Ikon yaitu, pohon beringin, tari potong padi, dan lumbung padi Dewi Sri. Terdapat tiga tanda atau lambang yang termasuk dalam kategori Indeks yaitu, warna merah putih, warna hitam, dan tali ijuk. Terdapat enam tanda atau lambang yang termasuk dalam kategori Simbol yaitu, jumlah pemain Kesenian Rengkong, pohon hanjuang, bambu, suara Kesenian Rengkong, padi, dan sendal karet hitam.  Kata Kunci:  semiotik, rengkong, bahan ajar, teks deskripsi.AbstractThe writer discusses the study of semiotics Rengkong art typical Warungkondang Cianjur. The purpose of this study is to describe the semiotic study contained in Rengkong Art, to interpret the meaning contained in all kinds of equipment, materials, costumes Art Rengkong and describes the extent to which feasibility as the use of teaching materials to write text description. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The significance of the sign or emblem rests on Pierce's semiotic theory, classified into three parts namely Icons, Indexes, and Symbols. The results showed there are three signs or symbols that are included in the category of Icons namely, banyan tree, rice cut dance, and rice barn Dewi Sri. Abstract

Ternate town comes from multi-ethnic or from many other countries outside. They come to bring their language and culture itself, so in communicating with each other they usually use Indonesian language and Ternate Malay language or multilingual. In Bastiong Market, there is a lot of social community; like from Buginese, Makassar, Buton, Tidore, Ternate, Javanese, and Makianese. In daily communication between a buyer and a seller, they usually use the language that related to whom they speak to, as like; Ternate language, Ternate Malay language, Indonesian language, Java language, Bugis and Makassar language, Tidore language, and Makian language.    The objective of this research is to find out and to explain more about the use of language variations that are used by the people in Bastiong Market. This research also finds out the factors that influence language variation in communicating with each other (buyer and seller).  The result of this research shows that there are several languages involved in the interaction among buyer and seller in Bastiong Market, namely Ternate language, Ternate Malay, Tidore, Bugis, Makassar, Buton, and Makian. Abstract

Buku ajar yang baik adalah buku ajar yang memiliki tujuan pembelajaran yang jelas, memiliki kesesuaian antara isi dengan tujuan kurikulum, serta menggunakan bahasa dan ejaan yang baik. Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana penggunaan tanda baca penanda kalimat dalam buku Bahasa Indonesia sekolah dasar? Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penggunaan bahasa Indonesia dalam buku ajar Bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah  metode deskriptif kualitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah buku Bahasa Indonesia kelas 5, sampel penelitian ini diambil 4 bab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ketidaktepatan pemakaian kaidah tanda titik berdasarkan materi dan topik pembicaraan terdapat 20 buah (4,35%) dan frekuensi ketepatan penggunaan tanda titik berjumlah 439 buah ( 95,6%). Jumlah ketidaktepatan penggunaan tanda tanya dalam materi pelajaran yang bertopik resmi yaitu 1 buah atau 0,68% dan frekuensi ketepatan penggunaan tanda tanya berjumlah 145 buah ( 99,32%). Ketidaktepatan pemakaian kaidah tanda seru berdasarkan materi dan topik pembicaraan terdapat 6 buah (2,71%) dan frekuensi ketepatan penggunaan tanda seru berjumlah 214 buah ( 97,2%).Kata Kunci: buku ajar, tanda baca Abstract A good textbook is a textbook that has clear learning objectives, has compatibility between content and curriculum objectives, also uses good language and spelling. The main problem in this research is how to use sentence markers in elementary school Indonesian books? This study was designed to describe the use of Indonesian in Indonesian language textbooks. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. The population in this study was grade 5 Indonesian language books, the study sample was taken 4 chapters. The results showed inaccurate use of the rules of the dot based on the material and the topic discussed 20 pieces (4.35%) and the frequency of accuracy of the use of the adventure point mark of 439 pieces (95.6%). The number of inaccuracies in the use of question marks in subject matter with official stubs is 1 piece or 0.68% and the frequency of accuracy in the use of question marks in 145 pieces (99.32%). Inaccurate use of 6% (2.71%) and high frequency 6% (97.2%).Keyword: textbooks, punctuation

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang tabu berupa ungkapan verbal dalam masyarakat Ternate yang hingga saat ini masih dijumpai dalam keseharian. Tabu dalam hal ini dilihat dari perspektif  budaya menyangkut dengan sistem kepercayaan  dan dari perspektif  sosial yang berkaitan dengan etika atau sopan santun dalam berinteraksi antar sesama manusia. Tulisan ini juga membahas strategi yang dilakukan  dalam menyikapi tabu tersebut.Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara untuk memperoleh data jenis tabu  yang dalam masyarakat disebut foso atau boboso serta bagaimana menyikapi tabu tersebut pada saat kondisi di mana mereka dengan terpaksa harus menggunakan kata-kata tabu tersebut. pendekatan semantic digunakan untuk memperoleh makna kontekstual dalam proses analisis data. Hasil yang ditemukan adalah bahwa dari sisi budaya  terdapat beberapa kata yang tergolong dalam satu komponen makna yang tidak boleh diucapkan pada situasi malam hari. Sedangkan dari sisi sosial juga terdapat sejumlah kata yang dianggap tidak patut diucapkan seseorang ketika berinteraksi dengan orang  lain dalam suatu situasi.Kata kunci: tabu, sistem kepercayaan, kultur, sosialAbstractThis article describes about taboo,  a verbal expression in Ternate society which is existed till this day. In this case, taboo is viewed from cultural perspective related to belief system and social perspective related to ethics and politeness in interaction between men. This article describe about a strategy to respond taboo as well.The technique of collecting data is in depth interview to get some data of taboo as the society called foso or boboso and how to respond taboo in the condition when they must use the taboo words. Semantic approach is used to get contextual meaning in process of analyzing the data.The result of this research was found that there are a few words in one component meaning that cannot be said in the evening situation viewed from the cultural perspective. While for the social perspective was found that there are a few words cannot be said to a man when interact to other people in each situation.Keyword; taboo, religion system, cultural, social

Abstract

This research is intended to investigate the traces of the Dutch Colonial government’s legacyduring Ethical Politics era in Lampung as alternative learning materials for Social Sciencessubject. The method used in this research is a historical method with data collection techniquesthrough a literature study and documentation. Then, data was analyzed by using a qualitativeanalysis technique. Based on the results of the research, there are some points of the DutchColonial government’s legacy during Ethical Politics era in Lampung that can be used asalternative learning materials for Social Sciences subject, as follows: 1) The learning of socialsciences can be possibly integrated and correlated with the local historical themes, 2) Thepotential of the Dutch Colonial traces such as Tanjung Karang railway station, Bunker Aer,Colonization Program, Irrigation channel of Talang in Pringsewu and Metro can be used asalternative sources of learning for History subject, 3) The integration between the local historicalvalues and learning sources of History subject is expected to be not only alternative learningmaterials for Social Sciences subject, but also able to create the Social Sciences subject become afun-meaningful lesson, and it can also develop the students’ curiosity.

Abstract

Many native languages in Indonesia who interact with other codes shift, including Ternate language. this research is focused on the Ternate language shift to Tidore in Foramadiyahi village. The goal of this research is to describe the shifting of Ternate to Tidore language in Foramadiyahi village. This is a descriptive and qualitative research. Based on the analysis, there have some reason why that hapen in that place while that place is in Ternate island itself. Therefore, the language speaker’s regeneration is neither well performed nor sustainably constructed.Keywords: language shift, language attitude and preference, sociolinguistics

Abstract

The acceptance of Malay is the beginning of the attitude of acceptance of the language by Ternate society. Language attitudes can be classified into two, namely positive attitudes and negative attitudes. A positive attitude in the form of loyalty to language and will determine language defense should be a negative attitude that will lead to language shift. This study aims to describe the attitude of acceptance of Ternate's ethnic language which has historically been described as an ethnic group that easily accepts and even absorbs new cultures that have come. With the attitude of acceptance, how is the pattern or structure of the language used when communicating with other ethnic speakers. This is what encourages researchers to conduct research related to the structure of language and cycles of language reception by Ternate ethnicity. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, in which the object of research is human beings and circumstances that are influenced by humans whose study is carried out as skillfully as possible. This study also uses a holistic approach including structural, sociology and anthropology. Research results show that the dominant language structure used by ethnicities includes 1). The level of morphology namely words and phrases, 2) syntax includes the negative words. Whereas the language attitude has shown is a negative language attitude towards one's own language and vice versa shows a positive language attitude towards other languages. From the perspective of communication, the attitude of the language shown by ethnic Ternate shows a very high level of language accommodation. Keywords: structure, language, attitudes

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan bentuk ketidaksantunan bahasa kaum remaja di desa Gandasuli, Kabupaten Bacan Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, teknik rekaman lapangan, teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa remaja di desa Kecamatan Gandasuli Bacan Selatan tidak mampu berkomunikasi dengan baik dalam berbicara antara sesama remaja dan orang tua. Selain itu, juga melanggar beberapa prinsip kesantunan. Prinsip kesantunan yang dilanggar adalah maksim kebijaksanaan, maksim kerendahan hati, maksim kedermawanan, maksim simpati dan maksim kebijaksanaan.Kata kunci: ketidaksantunan, bahasa, remaja, pragmatikAbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the form o languange impoliteness among teenagers in Gandasuli village, South Bacan District. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, field recording techniques, interview techniques and documentation. The results of the study showed that adolescents in the village of Gandasuli South Bacan  were not able to communicate well in talking between fellow  teenagers and older people.  Besides that, it also violates certain types of politenes principles. The violations of the principle of politeness are maxim of wisdom, maxim of humility, maxim of generosity, maxim of sympathy and  maxim of wisdom.Keywords : impoliteness, language, adolescence, pragmatics
