Abstract

Education was a part of the learning process, the wrong learning process can cause students’ learning outcomes become less maximal, one effort in improving students’ learning outcomes was by using the model of learning. Examples are Time Token, Picture Puzzle and Index Card Match. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of student learning outcomes by using Time Token and Picture Puzzle learning models with Time Token and Index Card Match. The method in this research is Quasi Eksperimental method. Data collection techniques used in the form of giving a test of multiple choice questions. The result of this research is the learning model of time token model and Picture puzzle of the preliminary test score 31,72 and the final test is 88,78 and the t value in paired data t test is 34,69. While in the class of time token learning model and index card match has a preliminary test score of 20.28 and the final test of 81.40 and the value of t on the t test of pairwise data 46.69 while the t value in the t test of unpaired data is 4.11. So it can be concluded that there is comparison of learning outcomes between time token learning model and picture puzzle with time token and index card match.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase tingkat penguasaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA di Kecamatan Sako dan Kecamatan Alang-alang Lebar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan nontes dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan Ms. Excel dengan menghitung persentase tingkat penguasaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Kecamatan Sako terkategori rendah dengan persentase sebesar 38,99% dan Kecamatan Alang-alang Lebar terkategori sedang dengan persentase 52,99%. Indikator yang terkategori rendah di Kecamatan Sako adalah menganalisis 40,09%, mengevaluasi 25,82%, dan menjelaskan 34,97%. Indikator tertinggi adalah pengaturan diri 53,27%. Di Kecamatan Alang-alang Lebar indikator dengan persentase terendah adalah mengevaluasi 43,52% dan tertinggi adalah pengaturan diri 59,03%.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease that needs multidiscipline and long life treatment, so herbal alternative is wanted. Moringa oleifera Lamk. is one of multipurpose plant. Moringa leaves has substances that can be used as an anti-hyperglycemic. To reveal the substances contribute to antidiabetic effect of Moringa leave, an antidiabetic test was done mice (Mus muscullus L.) strain Swiss Webster. The main purpose of this research were: (1) to determine the effect of leaf extracts of Moringa to decrease blood glucose levels in mice strain Swiss Webster alloxan induced? This research method used experimental method in the laboratory a completely randomized design consisted of 6 treatments and 4 replications consist. The treatments consisted of the P0 = normal control (it is given aquadest and animal food), P1 = positive control (alloxan induced and aquadest) P2 = comparison (induced alloxan and glibenclamide), P3 = 10% mixture of moringa leaf extract, P4 = 20%, and P5 = 30% is given in a gevage given for 10 days. The mice are chosen randomly with the body weight 25-35 grams with the age of 2-3 months. The result of the reseach: 1) extracting of moringa leaves on various concentration (10%, 20% and 30%) were capable to decrease in blood glucose mice significantly 0.000 < α 0.05. 2) Mouse weight had correlation with blood glucose level of mice that showed R = 0.49. It’s means that, giving extract moringa leave (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) hadn’t effect toward blood glucose level of mice.

Abstract

This research is motivated by smoking behavior in the house with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. The formulation of the problem in this research is How the smoking behavior in the house and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis disease as a source of a learning. The purpose of this research was to determine of smoking behavior in the house with the incidence of the pulmonary tuberculosis disease as a source of a learning. Research method is used descriptive qualitative. Population and sample in this research is community in outbreak region 3-4 Ulu Palembang which is patient with tuberculosis lung disease based on data obtained from puskesmas 4 Ulu Palembang on between 2016 and 2017 and from doctor practice in region of 3-4 Ulu Palembang. Data collection techniques in this study using a questionnaire, while data analysis techniques using statistics descriptive. Based on the results of research and discussion of research, description of smoking behavior in the house and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis is true and done by respondents in Village 3-4 Ulu Palembang which is a patient of pulmonary tuberculosis disease obtained from the primary data in this study and it can be concluded that the behavior of smoking in the house can cause epidemic pulmonary tuberculosis disease although there are also respondents who are not active smokers but they are exposed to pulmonary tuberculosis disease which is probably caused by anything else obtained from the secondary data in this study.

Abstract

The traditional assessments which only covered lower-order thinking skills are still commonly used by teachers in Palembang. Yet the 21st-Century education demands the empowerment of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). The objective of this study was to find out the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of interactive questions in measuring students' HOTS. The research and development applied was 4-D model which included four stages (define, design, develop and disseminate). The study was conducted on the tenth graders of SMAN (Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri-State Senior High School) 4 Palembang, and SMAN 9 Palembang, in the even semester of academic year 2018/2019. The instruments of data collection were validation sheets and interactive questions. The data analysis techniques used were Microsoft Excel 2010 and WINSTEPS version 3.73.0. In conclusion, the study showed that: 1) the expert validation results were very high category; 2) the instrument was considered as good by teacher responses; and 3) the interactive questions were effective in measuring students’ HOTS.

Abstract

Swamps are part of relatively flat land along the coast, streams or lakes and there is vegetation in the form of water plants, leading to the land up to ± 100 km which is generally affected by tides from the surrounding rivers. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, namely a method of analysis that seeks to explain the conditions of the object of study according to certain criteria so that it can provide a real picture of what is happening in the research place. Public Perception of Swamp Function in the Musi Rawas Area. People living in O. mangunharjo Village use swamps to help farmers in the use of conversion of agricultural land. However, to find out people's perceptions of the function of swamps, there are ten questions to analyze the community's perceptions of the function of swamps in the Musi Rawas area. From the research activities, it is known that from the community's perception of the function of swampland in O. Mangunharjo village, Musi Rawas Regency, there are many activities or activities that occur around swamps carried out by farmers such as; looking for grass for livestock, then hoeing or plowing the fields and farmers who plant vegetables considering that swamps are very important to the balance of the environment, especially in the economy of the people around O. Mangunharjo village in Musi Rawas Regency, there are 2 respondents who do not know the impact of the damage the swamp ecosystem affects the surrounding environment and 3 respondents know its impact. Based on PKL activities, it can be concluded that the community knows the function of swamps in the surrounding settlements, namely that the presence of swamps can balance the ecological functions of the environment.

Abstract

Based on the teacher questionnaire statement in Plaju and Seberang Ulu II District, the teacher has measured critical thinking skills. The teacher interview results stated that students still did not master the critical thinking skills of Biology High School. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage level of mastery of critical thinking skills of class X high school students in Plaju and Seberang Ulu II District. This research is quantitative descriptive research; the sample used is a public high school representing the District of Plaju and Seberang Ulu II District. The results of this study indicate that, on average, the results of the percentage analysis of the level of student’s critical thinking skills in class X high school in Plaju District is 49.46%, and Seberang Ulu II District is 56.52%. Both the percentage of indicators critical thinking skills in Plaju and Seberang Ulu II District is in the medium category.

Abstract

The implementation basic of this dedication begun by the problem of having not a forum for science teacher at SMPN 3 Banyuasin 1 to discuss in solving the problems faced at class. This dedication activity was aimed 1) to increase science teachers’ knowledge at SMPN 3 Banyuasin 1 about lesson study with project based learning model (PjBL) and 2) to know the level of participant's satisfaction toward the implementation of dedication activity. Implementation Methods of dedication activity included: 1) socialization of the PjBL model; 2) socialization of lesson study; 3) socialization of learning devices types; and 4) assistance of implementation simulation of lesson study based PjBL consisting of plan, do, and see. Data collection of knowledge was done by using the questions given before and after the PkM activity, while the satisfaction level of dedication implementation of devotion was taken by using the questionnaire. Data analysis of knowledge and questionnaire using descriptive analysis. The results of the dedication showed that 1) there was the increase of  Science Teachers’ knowledge of SMPN 3 Banyuasin 1 about lesson study with PjBL model from 66 to 74,6; and 2) there was the indication of the participants being very satisfied of the implementation of dedication activities.

Abstract

PISA 2003, 2006,2009, 2012, and 2015 results show that Indonesian students’ ability for reading, science, and mathematic aspect are still in ten lowest ability countries. However, data reality in field show the research amount especially in education scope are very large. The existence of a gap between research potential that can be produced by survey results of PISA 2013—2017 bring up the statements 1) what causes the implementation of Indonesia research does not have significant impact on increasing Indonesia’s ranking in PISA? and 2) how the efforts that can be done in improving Indonesia research quality? The study result indicates that there are three main factors causing research quality in Indonesia are still low 1) the obstacles at government policy level; 2) subtract the researchers with doctoral qualification, and 3) the low growth potential of research atmosphere in Indonesia. Efforts that can be done 1) create conducive policy for researchers; 2) add the acceptance quota for doctor’s scholarship under 40 years old; 3) add of quota’s budget for research, and 4) downstream the research results to the teachers in improving the learning process. Conclusions on Indonesia research quality have been a lot, but need a good management by downstream the research mapping to the obvious community.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative study of disasters making descriptions, pictures or paintings systematically, factually and accurately regarding the facts, characteristics and relationships between the phenomena being studied. The purpose of this study was to determine the understanding ability of students in the bioexperimental subject. Based on the research that has been done it can show that the free inquiry learning model (Free Inqury) is suitable to be applied to the Bioexperimental subject. The final score of students in the bio-experimental courses that completed in the 2016/2017 academic year was 44% and in the experimental class the completeness score was 90%. With the meaning that student understanding increases with the application of the free inquiry learning model.
