Abstract

Considered under the development path, students of secondary school belong to the 3rd phase of 14 up to 21 years of age plunging in teenager’s period. The teenager’s period has attracted many experts’ attentions which is then assumed as the period of sexual maturity. For educators, this period becomes an interesting focus of study viewed through other aspect, rather than sexual maturity. Socio-psychologically, this period brings them into broader interaction with adults. They do not belong to the subordinate class as children anymore; rather they interact horizontally with adults.             Radical change experienced by youngsters in periode of puberty often results in bewilderment which negatively entails curiousity to peform sexual conducts. Such evidence should be viewed educationally as a problem which needs to be cleared up. They urgently need educational hands to lead their curiousity to the proper end. The education is carried out to serve the needed information, knowledge and understanding all about sexual life so as to perform the proper and healthy sexual conducts. The assumption the writer proposes is that there is a significance enfluence of sex education towards the positive communication on teenagers.

Abstract

This study implements the power of two strategy on subject microteaching. The purpose of this study was to determine effect and improvement students teaching competence use of the power of two strategy. The method of this study was qualitative descriptive. Subject of study were student microteaching lecture class VIB of VIB1 group in biology department Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Science Education IKIP PGRI MADIUN Academic Year 2013/2014. The data obtained through assessment sheets using two instruments. That are learning plan and learning practice instruments. The results of this study showed an increase in the value of the average student in the learning plan. The average on first meeting was 2.80, second meeting 3.02 before apply the power of two strategy, became 3.50 in third meeting and 3.81 in fourth meeting after apply increase the power of two strategy. The average increase also occurred in leaning practice. The average on first practice learning was 3.01, second practice learning was 3.06 before apply the power of two strategy, became 3.30 in third practice learning and 3.52 in fourth practice learning after apply the power of two strategy.

Abstract

The main objectives of this research is to develop the achievement of the students of grade IX A of SMP 1 Takeran, Magetan through the implementation of process skill approach under inquiry method through collaboration of teachers and lecturers. The research setting includes grade IX A s SMP 1 Takeran, Magetan, the subject of the research are all students of this class which covers 33 people, including 16 males and 17 females. Data are drawn from students’ achievement through test, students’ motivation through close questionaire, students’ process skill through obsrvation checklist, and students’ activity through actvivity record.             The analysis brings abouyt results, that: 1) in the cognitive domain, the student achievement raises from 56.90 to 64.10 in cycle I, and it becomes 71.20 in cycle II. 2) the percentage of threshold level raises from 12% to 42% in cycle I, and it becomes 87% in cycle II. 3) in the affective domain, the student motivation raises from 30% of those with high motivation scale in cycle I to 88% in cycle II; students’ process skill raises from 42% of those with high scale skill in cycle I to 91% in cycle II.             The results are then concluded that the implementation of process skill under inquiry model through collaboration of teachers and lecturers for the students of grade IX A SMP 1 Takeran, Magetan can improve the students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

Ecosystem has been one target of the UNO's millenium development goals. The decision is sited because the safety of the ecosystem is regarded to be critical around the development of science and technology of 20th century which result in not only well-being but also disaster for human mankind, pertaining to complicated problems. The role of technology has shifted along the way with the development of human history, from the support system to power which determines the cosietal behaviour and interaction.Technology is always coined with science, since technlogy is the embodiment of the science. Hence, technology will only develop in the assistance of the cultural behaviour which contributes  strategic advantage for human being. The development of technology inavitably requires the deep structure of ethics, moral and commitment to establish the basis of a nation's culture. The most responsible institution to nurture such values is educational institution.One of the objectives of teaching historical geography is to nurture students awareness against the significance of ecosystem, thorugh the historical cultural and geographical approaches, around and within human life and living.

Abstract

In line with the development of technology, translation technic has developed significantly in terms of the utility of translation machine, like that in Google translation. This technique is now being commonly used by people from all education levels. This phenomenon attracts the researcher to identify the quality of the results of translation machine. Translation is basically a process of transfering massage from one language to another, both the meaning and the language corpus. A translator has to cope not only with the source and target language systems but also the discipline in question. This research applies qualitative method studying on verbal materials in the forms of words, phrases, sentences and even paragraphs. The researcher makes use of articles from verious disciplines, like economy, technology, sosial and health as the source of data. The analysis shows that the translation texts resulted from translation machine are significantly defective in carrying out meanings in the level of words, phrases and sentences; which come with the different contexts. In spite of the inappropriateness in translation results, the translation machine is still helpful to some extents.

Abstract

The quality  of products  of a  Teacher Training  Institution  does not merely  depend  on the grade point everage they pursue,  but also on the competitive   advantage  they gain during  the learning   process to fight for position  and apply the pedagogical  priciples  in the work market  share.  The  quality of teaching  and' learning  process   in the campus  should  be then  fitted to  such  needs  of  the market   share, which  can  be  done  by sending lecturers   to  schools   as  apprentice teachers.This Peer Grant Research is aimed at: 1) developing  the quality of lecturers'  instruction, 2) developing relationship between IKIP PGRI Madiun   and  the  peer  institutions,   3) searching   and  implementing alternative     strategies    for  teaching    and  learning    effectiveness. Collaborative   teaching  between  lecturers  of IKIP PGRI Madiun  and teachers  of SMP N 11 Madiun  is designed  to: 1) observe  the existing condition  of classes,  2) discuss  for developing  alternative  strategies, 3) arrange and implement  the instructional  design, 4) conduct teaching and learning  process,  and 5) suggest  evaluation.  Class  observation, questionaire   and interview  are used to draw data from 7 subjects  in research,   i.e.:  Bahasa   Indonesia,   English,   Natural   Science,  Social Science,  Math, Civics  and Counseling.The  results   of  the  research   can  be  outlined   as  follows:   1) lecturers   develop   their  classes   by  inspecting    and  implementing directly the instruction  in real scholls'  classes, 2) identification  against weaknesses  in schools'  classes can be arranged for further evaluation, 3) the campus  develops  teacher  training  instructional   designs  based on field inventions,  4) collaborative  team invent alternative  strategies in classes, 5) lecturers experience real schools classes so as to develop their instructional design, 6) teachers are motivated to continously develop their teaching to gain optimal out-come.

Abstract

The main factor owing to the low quality of learning on electronics is the lack and misconception of the prerequisite subjects. The other supporting factors are the unfamiliarity of electronic components among students, the low skill in arranging electronic components and the poor capability in applying electronic measurement device. All of the mentioned factors have become the presumptions leading to the students’ failure in learning. Yet, the real causes of the students’ failure are worth searching. This research is then attempted to set learning model through observation on students’ problems.             This research is carried out within the framework of lesson study 2010 program funded by the dikti on the Electronics I subject, semester VA, the Physics Study Program. This research is packed under classroom action research design, with 1 lecturer model and 2 observers. The problems are overcome by cognitive conflict-based learning method posing experiments, demonstrations, preaching and discussion.             The analysis results in conclusions: 1) 50% of students are not capable in using measurement device and in arranging electronic components, 2) the use of LCD infocus helps students observe the demonstration, even from re4atively far places, 3) discussion can encourage students to make cognitive conflicts to reach the most proper concepts, 4) preaching method given in more than 30 minutes makes students get bored, which is then resolved by combination of 10 minutes preaching and 10 minutes discussion respectively.

Abstract

Kekhasan pembelajaran di SD berupa pembelajaran tematik baik yang terintegrasi antarbidang maupun intern bidang pelajaran belum terfasilitasi secara baik dan merata dalam pembelajaran microteaching. Hal ini disebabkan banyak aspek, untuk memeroleh standardisasi proses pembelajaran mikro Prodi PGSD IKIP PGRI MADIUN, perlu dikembangkan buku panduan pelaksanaan pembelajaran mikro berbasis lesson study. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran mikro Prodi PGSD IKIP PGRI MADIUN dengan menggunakan buku tersebut, akan mempunyai standar yang sama antara rombongan belajar satu dengan yang lain. Pembelajaran Mikro (microteaching) merupakan suatu kegiatan pengajaran peer teaching yang dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa dalam jumlah dan waktu yang terbatas. Bentuk pengajaran sederhana, dimana calon guru berada dalam suatu lingkungan kelas yang terbatas dan terkontrol. Hanya mengajarkan satu konsep dengan menggunakan satu atau dua keterampilan dasar mengajar. Lesson study adalah model pembinaan profesi pendidik melalui pengkajian pembelajaran secara kolaboratif dan berkelanjutan, berlandaskan prinsip-prinsip kolegalitas dan mutual learning untuk membangun komunitas belajar. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan dalam pengembangan buku pedoman microteaching adalah analisa potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain buku, pengembangan buku, validasi buku, revisi buku I, uji coba buku, dan revisi buku II. Instrumen pengumpul data yang digunakan dalam pengembangan buku microteaching yaitu angket, produk berupa buku, dan lembar deskripsi keterlaksanaan uji coba buku. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam menganalisis data kuantitatif berupa skor angket, pemberian nilainya adalah dengan menghitung persentase skor. Dari analisis data diketahui bahwa validitas buku pedoman pembelajaran mikro yang dikembangkan mempunyai validitas tinggi dengan skor 2,7 dan menempati kriteria baik. Hasil uji lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran mikro berjalan dengan baik dengan menggunakan buku pedoman ini. Selain itu aktivitas positif dari mahasiswa muncul secara konsisten. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat reliabilitasnya tinggi. Dari keseluruhan hasil analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas buku pedoman pembelajaran mikro berbasis lesson study ini baik.

Abstract

This research serves a thorough outlook on the effectiveness of models of learning morality in Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan subject by constructivist approach for the students of SMP-s around Madiun Municipality. The research makes use of quasi experiment approach by factorial design 2 x 2. The effectiveness of teaching-learning process is evaluated under qualitative method. The subjects of the research include 625 students which belong to grade 1 and 2 of SMP in Madiun Municipality. The analysis results in conclusion that constructivist approach raise the grade 1 students’ achievement by F(1.318)=4.463, p = 0.035. the consistent result is also achieved by the grade 2 students’ achievement by F(1.298) = 118.309, p = 0.000. The qualitatative evaluation on the model also shows significance.

Abstract

Learning a foreign language, the learners  need  to comprehend the language well. It is needed to undestand and apply in daily life. It also expresses a concept or an idea to communicate with other learners. Besides, the learners still find difficulty in expressing the concept or an idea while learning English as a foriegn language. Otherwise, the learners also still find difficulty in responding and applying the language well. It is meant that they lack to recognized what the students’ learning. Overcoming this problem is very important. Furthermore, the paper aims to explain the use of contextual teaching in EFL classroom. It is used in the English skills especially used in speaking. Speaking skill is important skill used in English daily life. Moreover, contextual teaching is appropriate strategy in teaching speaking skill. The strategies are used by the teacher to solve the students problem. The learners will be able to understand and apply the skill in daily life. The paper presents the contextual teaching used in the speaking skill. It can help the learners in applying the foreign language.
