Abstract

The quality  of products  of a  Teacher Training  Institution  does not merely  depend  on the grade point everage they pursue,  but also on the competitive   advantage  they gain during  the learning   process to fight for position  and apply the pedagogical  priciples  in the work market  share.  The  quality of teaching  and learning  process   in the campus  should  be then  fitted to  such  needs  of  the market   share, which  can  be  done  by sending lecturers   to  schools   as  apprentice teachers.This Peer Grant Research is aimed at: 1) developing  the quality of lecturers  instruction, 2) developing relationship between IKIP PGRI Madiun   and  the  peer  institutions,   3) searching   and  implementing alternative     strategies    for  teaching    and  learning    effectiveness. Collaborative   teaching  between  lecturers  of IKIP PGRI Madiun  and teachers  of SMP N 11 Madiun  is designed  to: 1) observe  the existing condition  of classes,  2) discuss  for developing  alternative  strategies, 3) arrange and implement  the instructional  design, 4) conduct teaching and learning  process,  and 5) suggest  evaluation.  Class  observation, questionaire   and interview  are used to draw data from 7 subjects  in research,   i.e.:  Bahasa   Indonesia,   English,   Natural   Science,  Social Science,  Math, Civics  and Counseling.The  results   of  the  research   can  be  outlined   as  follows:   1) lecturers   develop   their  classes   by  inspecting    and  implementing directly the instruction  in real scholls  classes, 2) identification  against weaknesses  in schools  classes can be arranged for further evaluation, 3) the campus  develops  teacher  training  instructional   designs  based on field inventions,  4) collaborative  team invent alternative  strategies in classes, 5) lecturers experience real schools classes so as to develop their instructional design, 6) teachers are motivated to continously develop their teaching to gain optimal out-come.Key words: quality, learning, apprenticeship, lectures

Abstract

In line with the development of technology, translation technic has developed significantly in terms of the utility of translation machine, like that in Google translation. This technique is now being commonly used by people from all education levels. This phenomenon attracts the researcher to identify the quality of the results of translation machine. Translation is basically a process of transfering massage from one language to another, both the meaning and the language corpus. A translator has to cope not only with the source and target language systems but also the discipline in question. This research applies qualitative method studying on verbal materials in the forms of words, phrases, sentences and even paragraphs. The researcher makes use of articles from verious disciplines, like economy, technology, sosial and health as the source of data. The analysis shows that the translation texts resulted from translation machine are significantly defective in carrying out meanings in the level of words, phrases and sentences; which come with the different contexts. In spite of the inappropriateness in translation results, the translation machine is still helpful to some extents.Keywords: translation, translation machine

Abstract

Kekhasan pembelajaran di SD berupa pembelajaran tematik baik yang terintegrasi antarbidang maupun intern bidang pelajaran belum terfasilitasi secara baik dan merata dalam pembelajaran microteaching. Hal ini disebabkan banyak aspek, untuk memeroleh standardisasi proses pembelajaran mikro Prodi PGSD IKIP PGRI MADIUN, perlu dikembangkan buku panduan pelaksanaan pembelajaran mikro berbasis lesson study. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran mikro Prodi PGSD IKIP PGRI MADIUN dengan menggunakan buku tersebut, akan mempunyai standar yang sama antara rombongan belajar satu dengan yang lain. Pembelajaran Mikro (microteaching) merupakan suatu kegiatan pengajaran peer teaching yang dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa dalam jumlah dan waktu yang terbatas. Bentuk pengajaran sederhana, dimana calon guru berada dalam suatu lingkungan kelas yang terbatas dan terkontrol. Hanya mengajarkan satu konsep dengan menggunakan satu atau dua keterampilan dasar mengajar. Lesson study adalah model pembinaan profesi pendidik melalui pengkajian pembelajaran secara kolaboratif dan berkelanjutan, berlandaskan prinsip-prinsip kolegalitas dan mutual learning untuk membangun komunitas belajar. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan dalam pengembangan buku pedoman microteaching adalah analisa potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain buku, pengembangan buku, validasi buku, revisi buku I, uji coba buku, dan revisi buku II. Instrumen pengumpul data yang digunakan dalam pengembangan buku microteaching yaitu angket, produk berupa buku, dan lembar deskripsi keterlaksanaan uji coba buku. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam menganalisis data kuantitatif berupa skor angket, pemberian nilainya adalah dengan menghitung persentase skor. Dari analisis data diketahui bahwa validitas buku pedoman pembelajaran mikro yang dikembangkan mempunyai validitas tinggi dengan skor 2,7 dan menempati kriteria baik. Hasil uji lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran mikro berjalan dengan baik dengan menggunakan buku pedoman ini. Selain itu aktivitas positif dari mahasiswa muncul secara konsisten. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat reliabilitasnya tinggi. Dari keseluruhan hasil analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas buku pedoman pembelajaran mikro berbasis lesson study ini baik.Kata kunci: Pengembangan, Buku Pedoman Microteaching, Lesson study

Abstract

The main factor owing to the low quality of learning on electronics is the lack and misconception of the prerequisite subjects. The other supporting factors are the unfamiliarity of electronic components among students, the low skill in arranging electronic components and the poor capability in applying electronic measurement device. All of the mentioned factors have become the presumptions leading to the students’ failure in learning. Yet, the real causes of the students’ failure are worth searching. This research is then attempted to set learning model through observation on students’ problems.This research is carried out within the framework of lesson study 2010 program funded by the dikti on the Electronics I subject, semester VA, the Physics Study Program. This research is packed under classroom action research design, with 1 lecturer model and 2 observers. The problems are overcome by cognitive conflict-based learning method posing experiments, demonstrations, preaching and discussion.The analysis results in conclusions: 1) 50% of students are not capable in using measurement device and in arranging electronic components, 2) the use of LCD infocus helps students observe the demonstration, even from re4atively far places, 3) discussion can encourage students to make cognitive conflicts to reach the most proper concepts, 4) preaching method given in more than 30 minutes makes students get bored, which is then resolved by combination of 10 minutes preaching and 10 minutes discussion respectively.Key words: cognitive conflict, experiments, demonstration, preaching, discussion.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify the students' reading comprehension skill at SMP 2 Tanon, (2) to depict the obstacles in learning reading comprehension of the students of SMP 2 Tanon, and (3) to describe the implementation of CIRC method in improving students' reading comprehension skill at SMP N 2 Tanon. This research is conducted under Class Action Research design with two cycles in the first semester term 2010/2011. The subjects of this research are the IXth C graders. Data collecting techniques are observation, interview and documentation, which are then analyzed under qualitative method. The results of the analysis shows that CIRC method is sufficiently effective to improve students' achievement in reading comprehension. The indicators are: (1) the students achievement develops significantly, (2) the learining activities become more interactive, which can be seen through the warm discussion conducted in classes, where students share ideas within and among groups (3) the teacher controls the whole learning process intesively.

Abstract

As a social creature, egocentricism nature of any child of kindergarten age needs encouragement and assisstance so as not to hinder the socialization process of the child in the future. In respect of the evidence, this research is attempted to measure the effectiveness of outbond program in establishing the social-emotional skill of kindergarten age children. The finding drawn from observation shows that the development of social-emotional skill of the students of TK Sekolah Alam Bandung is tentatively better than those from coventional ones. The analysis brings about results that social and emotional behaviour of the students of TK Sekolah Alam Bandung develop well by their ability to realize their feelings athough they can not yet controle them. Outbond program is able to develop emotional and social skill of the kindergarten age children. This research then recommend outbond program for kindergarten students.

Abstract

The children’s attitude in praying against Allah is affected by the nurturing pattern of their parents and individualization method in kindergarten. If children are nurtured under dialogical pattern and individualized method in class, they will develop the positive attitude on praying against Allah. This research is attempted to identify the interrelationship among those variables above. Under a statistic analysis of t-test, the researcher finds that: 1) the dialogical nurturant pattern of parents has positive effect on the attitude on praying by Fo>Ft (38.55 > 4.11) under 0.05 of significant value. 2) the dialogical nurturant pattern and individualized method in class have significant effect on the attitude on praying by Fo>Ft ( 33.33>4.11) under 0.05 significant value. 3)  the dialogical nurturant pattern and individualized method in class show interaction against the attitude on praying by Fp>Ft (6.32>4.11) under 0.05 significant value.

Abstract

This  research  serves  an analysis  as to empirically   explain  the implementation    of School Operational Grant  (BOS)  for books from government and  its relevance   towards  the teachers' creativeness in writing   books  and  modules.   School  Operational   Grant  for books  is intended    to  ease   students’ parents   in  providing    books   for  their children.Teachers, as the front-liners for the students' learning development, are attempted to creatively provide the  sufficient learning  resources, one of which is done by  arranging    subject modules.    The   teachers    are  obliged   for  arrangement    of  learning modules,   because  through  the modules  they can render  creativeness and material   development   for students  based  on the development   of the  market  share  and lack of teachers' works.Under  empirical  observation  done by the researcher,  it is found that the School Operational  Grant for books arises dilemma for teachers and public  in terms that  1) teachers  face difficulties  to distribute  their works/modules   in substitution  for books from BOS, 2) the demand  for teachers'    modules   and books  becomes   students'   parents  burden,  3) the distribution   of the grant books which needs very  strict supervision from  the authority.

Abstract

Folktales which had become favourable choice for children to enjoy mainly before sleep are now undergoing degradation, even they become strange things and of ignorance for them. They do not need them anymore in the replacement of play stations, VCD players, and the likes. Inspite of children’s ignorance against folktales, they fully contain moral values which are needed for our next generation to manage themselves better in leading the world. For this reason, folktales educationally need to be transformed and nurtured to children. In line with the progress of information technology, folktales can be packed in such a way to attract youngsters still in regard to the essence of their moral contents. The package of folktales can be in the forms of novels, comic-strips, film-strips, pictures, or electronic cinema which in turn can be served for children through educational centres, suveniers, students’ stationaries. The role of the government is not to mention important in support of the implementation of them to children through its budget or legal hands to in-built curriculum.

Abstract

The study examined the relationship of conformity, self-esteem, and aggressiveness. Research subjects were 76 middle adolescents ages 16 to 18 years (16 males and 22 females). Data of aggressiveness obtained from the aggressiveness scale. Data of conformity obtained from the conformity scale. Data of self-esteem obtained from self-esteem scale. The results of regression analysis of conformity and self-esteem R = 0.325, F = 2.130, p = 0.126 (p> 0.01). Conformity and self-esteem variables simultaneously is not associated with adolescent aggressiveness. The results of partial conformity test t = -1.888, p = 0.063 (p> 0.05). Conformity variables in isolation is not related to aggressiveness. The results of partial self-test t = -1.061, p = 0.292 (p> 0.05). Variable self-esteem in isolation is not related to aggressiveness.
