Abstract

The purpose of this experiment was to identified the population distribution of Azotobacter sp and organic matter on variety slope classification at experimental field, PPTK Gambung, West Java. The methode that used was exploration method. PPTK Gambung’s tea plantation has three class of slope, they are slope of <8% (flat-rather slope slighty), 8-15% (slope slighty), and 16-25% (rather steep). Total 14 composite soil sample taken from each of the class to analyze total population of Azotobacter sp, average of organic matter soil content, and water content average. Sample was taken based on sample point in Land Unit Map (SPL). Slopes <8% (flat-rather slope slighty) have total population of Azotobacter sp around 7,14x107 cfu/gram soil, water content 5,97%, and organic matter 10,68%. Slopes 8-15% (slope slighty) have total population of Azotobacter sp around 10,38x107 cfu/gram soil, water content 6,47%, and organic matter 10,91%. And slopes 16-25% (rather steep) have total population of Azotobacter sp around 11,75x107 cfu/gram soil, water content 6,34%, and organic matter 10,65%.

Abstract

Reseach on insect pollinators diversity and abundance on eight cash crops wasconducted at Serang, Sub District Karangreja, Purbalingga, Central Java, during June to oktober2012. The aims of this research were to observethe diversity and abundance of insect pollinators ateight food crops and their relationship with flowers colours. Sampling of insect pollinators specieswas done using scane sampling and direct observation of insect stay at the flowers. Insect diversitywas calculated using Shannon´s index, Simpsons index and, and Shannon Eveness. Species turnover was calculated using Jaccard index. the calculations was performed using BD Pro(McAleece, et al., 1997). Sevententh species of insect pollinators was identified. Wings bean wasvisited by 12 species of insect pollinators with highest diversity indeces (H=2.14, D=0.86, and E=0.86,) followed by cucumber (11 species) with diversity indeces (H=1.89, D=0.75, and E= 0.75,),and the lowest was strawberry with only visited by 7 species with diversity indeces(H=1.25,D=0.64, and E= 0.64,).The most abundance insect pollinator species was local honeybees ( A. Cerana), followed by stingless bees (Trigona sp) and the lowest was Ropalidia romandiwith consist only 2 individual.There is no corelation between flowers colors with either insectpollinators diversity or abundance.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the gastropod species diversity aroundParit 7 fish auction, Tungkal 1 Village, West Tanjung Jabung. The research found 208 individuals of15 gastropods species: Cerithidea obtusa, Cerithidea alata, Cerithidea cingulata, Telescopiumtelescopium, Telescopium mauritsi, Littoraria melanostoma, Littoraria conica, Littoraria scabra,Nerita balteata, Neritina violacea, Neritina cornucopia, Stramonita gradata, Chicoreus capucinus,Cassidula aurisfelis, and Ellobium aurisjudae. The research concluded that the gastropod speciesdiversity around Parit 7 fish auction Tungkal 1 Village West Tanjung Jabung classified as mediumdue to H' index ranged from 1.79 to 2.28 and there is no dominant species.

Abstract

The research investigated the influence of four isolates of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF) on the growth of duku seedlings. The research used randomized block design with onefactor of some isolates AMF: Glomus-sp 3, 6, 15, and 16 at a dose of 20 g per polybag. The resultsshowed that inoculation of AMF isolates increase the canopy and root growth of the dukuseedlings. Duku seedlings inoculated with mycorrhiza showed higher plant height, stem diameter,dry weight, secondary roots number and length, than the control. Furthermore, mycorrhizalinoculation increased the absorption of nutrients (Phosphor) in the leaves of duku seedlings. Rootstaining results showed that AMF colonization in the duku roots only indicate hyphae; the otherstructures (vesicles, arbuscular and spores) were not detected.

Abstract

Global warming has threatened Indonesian’s agricultural sector and put the sectorvulnerable to climate change. The changes affect the daily air temperature changes, farmerbehavior, and the diversity of insect pollinators. The study aims to determine the daily changes inair temperature, farmer behavior, and diversity of pollinating insects in the village of Serang,Karangreja, Purbalingga, Central Java; and to analyze the relationship between daily airtemperature changes, farmer behavior, and insect pollinators diversity. The research employedsurvey methods. Samples for the daily air temperature measurement were taken purposeviley. Thediversity of insect pollinators on the three farming type and respondens were selected radmonlywith total respondent 99. The results showed that the average daily air temperature in chili farms ishigher than that in tomato and strawberry farm; farmers have a good knowledge about theenvironmental degradation of agriculture land, good attitude and awareness in maintaining andimproving the quality of agriculture, but they have negative behaviour in the use of excessiveinsecticides. Species richness of insect pollinators in tomato farm is higher than that in chili andstrawberry farm. A good knowledge, good attitude, and bad behaviour are closely related to thedaily air temperature and insect pollinators.

Abstract

Hornbill has an important role in forest regeneration, but the limited variety andamount of food available to birds will eventually threaten the population of hornbills.Identification of feed plant and hornbil species diversity was conducted at the HarapanRainforest from March to April 2011. Hornbills plant feed samples were taken right after thebirds were eating. The results showed there are nine plant species of hornbills feed found in theHarapan Rainforest: Santiria apiculata, Elaeocarpus sphaericus, Sapium baccatum, Lithocarpusreinwardtii, Disoxylum excelsum, Ficus curtipes, Knema globularia, Knema furfuracea, andSantiria oblongifolia. Of these nine species, Ficus curtipes is the most preferred feed by thehornbills. Further research also notes that there are seven hornbill species inhabit the HarapanRainforest: crested hornbills (Aceros comatus), rhinoceros hornbills (Buceros rhinoceros), goldhornbill (Aceros undulatus), black kangkareng (Anthracaceros malayanus), black-crestedhornbill (Aceros corrugatus), khilingan hornbills (Anorrhinus galeritus) and ivory hornbill(Rhinoplax vigil)

Abstract

Penelitian tentang aspek repoduksi ikan tambakan (Helostoma temminckii) di perairan umum Kecamatan Kumpeh telah dilakukan pada bulan Juni sampai dengan bulan Agustus 2013, pengoleksian ikan sampel dengan alat tangkap jaring insang dan jala dengan ukuran mata jaring 0,75 inchi dan 1,0 inchi. Pengumpulan ikan sampel dilakukan seminggu sekali dan pengambilan dilakukan secara acak sederhana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat aspek biologi reproduksi ikan tambakan yang meliputi seksualitas, nisbah kelamin, tingkat kematangan gonad dan nilai indek somatik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan tambakan bersifat heteroseksual dengan nisbah kelamin ikan jantan betina (1,25:1,00). Nilai gonado somatik ikan betina lebih besar dari ikan jantan pada setiap tingkat kematangan gonad.   Kata kunci: gonad, tingkat kematangan gonad, heteroseksual

Abstract

Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pertumbuhan tanaman kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan (TBM I) pada pemberian mikoriza indigen dan dosis pupuk organik di lahan marjinal (Ultisol).  Percobaan ini terdiri dari dua faktor perlakuan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok.  Faktor pertama adalah mikoriza terdiri dari dua taraf (M0: tanpa inokulasi mikoriza serta M1 : dengan inokulasi mikoriza jenis Glomus sp-16), serta  faktor kedua, pemberian dosis pupuk organik, terdiri atas lima taraf  (P0 =  tanpa pupuk organik, P1 = 25%  dosis anjuran  pupuk organik kompos kotoran sapi, P2 = 50%  dosis anjuran pupuk organik kompos kotoran sapi, P3 = 75%  dosis anjuran pupuk organik kompos kotoran sapi, dan P4 = 100% dosis anjuran pupuk organik kompos kotoran sapi.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Pemberian mikoriza dan berbagai dosis  pupuk kompos kotoran sapi serta interaksi antara pemberian mikoriza dan berbagai dosis  pupuk kompos kotoran sapi mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan (TBM 1) umur 6 bulan yang ditanam di lahan marjinal.  Pemberian mikoriza dan pupuk kompos kotoran sapi dengan dosis 75% dari dosis rekomendasi mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan (TBM 1) yang terbaik di lahan marjinal.   Kata Kunci: lahan marjinal, ultisol, mikoriza, pupuk organik, kelapa sawit

Abstract

Abstrak Biometric recognition merupakan sistem pengenalan  atau identifikasi seseorang  berdasarkan karakteristik  biologis khusus yang dimiliki oleh orang tersebut, fungsinya  untuk sistem keamanan  dengan  mengenali identitas seseorang. Speech recognition merupakan suatu  proses yang dilakukan  komputer untuk mengenali kata yang diucapkan oleh  seseorang tanpa mempedulikan identitas orang terkait. Pola peningkatan dan penurunan signal suara merupakan ciri khas (feature extraction) dari seseorang dalam hal berbicara , sehingga antara energy rata-rata (Average Energy) bunyi  dan lamanya ambang diam  (Silent Ratio) merupakan faktor yang terpenting untuk mendeteksi karakter dan pola suara seseorang. Sedangkan proses algoritma Fourier Frequency Transform (FFT) digunakan untuk mengcirikan komponen-komponen data pada domain frekuensi. Hasil pengujian yaitu menunjukkan bahwa suara seseorang yang direkam dengan durasi dua detik kemudian dilakukan pembagian sinyal gelombang selama 0,2 detik diperoleh besarnya Average energy adalah 2.323 dan proses Silent ratio sebesar 0.249. Kedua nilai tersebut merupakan feature extraction suara seseorang yang dapat dikenali oleh komputer.   Kata kunci: Avarege Energy, Fourier Frequency Transform, Speech recognition, Silent Ratio

Abstract

Abstrak. Nepenthes merupakan tumbuhan unik yaitu mempunyai kemampuan untuk mencerna serangga yang terperangkap dalam organ berbentuk kantong pada ujung daun untuk memenuhi kebutuhan proteinnya. Nephentes dapat dijadikan sebagai tanaman hias yang memiliki nilai komersial tinggi dan juga sebagai obat-obatan. Sumatera merupakan wilayah terbesar kedua dari penyebaran Nepenthes setelah Kalimantan. Habitat alami dari jenis Nepenthes di Sumatera setiap tahunnya semakin terancam, baik oleh pembalakan liar, kebakaran hutan maupun konversi lahan hutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis vegetasi dalam komunitas Nepenthes mirabilis di hutan kampus Institut Agama Islam Negeri Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode transek. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan tumbuhan yang ditemukan di sekitar komunitas Nepenthes mirabilis pada plot pengamatan adalah sebanyak 17 famili, yang terdiri dari 26 jenis dan 3547 individu. Jenis tumbuhan yang paling banyak ditemukan di sekitar komunitas Nepenthes mirabilis adalah dari famili Poaceae yaitu Axonopus compressus sebanyak 1336 individu, pada famili Gleicheniaceae yaitu Dicranopteris linearis sebanyak 470 individu dan pada famili Leguminoceae yaitu Mimosa pudica sebanyak 419 individu. Sedangkan jenis tumbuhan yang paling sedikit ditemukan pada famili Polygalaceae dengan jenis Polygala paniculata terdapat 6 individu.   Kata Kunci: Vegetasi, Komunitas, Nepenthes mirabilis.
