Abstract

Insomnia cases in Indonesia and worldwide as well have increased every year. Based on data found cases of insomnia increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. The intervention that is widely used in dealing with insomnia is by using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention techniques. Several previous studies have conducted research related to CBT for insomnia (CBT-I). This research was conducted to see the magnitude of the effect size arising from CBT on insomnia and to increase statistical insight using meta-analysis approach of hedge's g. The study used 14 research journal articles discussing cognitive behavioral therapy and insomnia which involved total of 7085 respondents. The results of this study found that cognitive behavioral therapy was quite effective in reducing insomnia (g=-0.57).    Kasus insomnia di Indonesia maupun di dunia mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya. Berdasarkan data yang ditemukkan kasus insomnia bertambah selama masa pandemi COVID-19 berlangsung. Intervensi yang banyak digunakan dalam menangani insomnia adalah dengan menggunakan teknik intervensi cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Beberapa penelitian terdahulu sudah melakukan penelitian berkaitan dengan CBT untuk insomnia (CBT-I). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat besaran effect sizeyang ditimbulkan dari CBT terhadap insomnia serta meningkatkan wawasan statistik dengan menggunakan meta-analisis. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode meta-analisis yang mana dalam analisisnya menggunakan aplikasi JAMOVI versi 2.2.5 dana melihat effect size menggunakan nilai hedge’s g. penelitian menggunakan 14 artikel jurnal penelitian yang membahas mengenai cognitive behavioral therapy dan insomnia yang mana melibatkan sebanyak 7085 responden. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukkan bahwa cognitive behavioral therapy cukup efektif  dalam menurunkan insomnia (g=-0.57).

Abstract

Participating in international student exchange programs offers valuable experiences during higher education. However, adjusting to numerous changes can lead to acculturative stress. Previous research has highlighted the importance of perceived social support in reducing acculturative stress. This study aimed to explore whether perceived social support could predict acculturative stress among Indonesian exchange students in Europe, using a quantitative approach. The ASSIS (Acculturative Stress Scale for International Students) and the ISSS (Index of Sojourner Social Support) were used as data collection tools. The sampling technique used in this research was a non-random sampling technique-accidental sampling technique. Participants were Indonesian exchange students in Europe (N = 119) with the age range of 21-24 (x̄ = 21). Results showed that 74.79% of the students had high levels of perceived social support, and 63.02% of them had low levels of acculturative stress. Linear regression analysis proved that perceived social support could significantly predict 8.86% of students’ acculturative stress. Additionally, no significant difference was found between gender in both acculturative stress (p= .356) and perceived social support (p=.280). Broadening social networks during the exchange program period would prevent students from experiencing high levels of acculturative stress.   Berpartisipasi dalam program pertukaran pelajar internasional menawarkan pengalaman berharga selama pendidikan tinggi. Namun, penyesuaian terhadap berbagai perubahan dapat menimbulkan stres akulturatif. Penelitian sebelumnya telah menyoroti pentingnya persepsi dukungan sosial dalam mengurangi stres akulturatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi apakah dukungan sosial yang dirasakan dapat memprediksi stres akulturatif pada pelajar pertukaran Indonesia di Eropa, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. ASSIS (Acculturative Stress Scale for International Students) dan ISSS (Index of Sojourner Social Support) digunakan sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik non random sampling-teknik accidental sampling. Pesertanya adalah pelajar pertukaran Indonesia di Eropa (N = 119) dengan rentang usia 21-24 tahun (x̄ = 21). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 74,79% siswa memiliki tingkat persepsi dukungan sosial yang tinggi, dan 63,02% di antaranya memiliki tingkat stres akulturatif yang rendah.

Abstract

Cases of children in conflict with the law continue to increase in numbers. Teachers' attitudes and views towards children in conflict with the law (ABH) requires empirical study, especially regarding how ABH has the right to continue their education. This study aims to explore teachers' attitudes towards ABH regarding whether they have the right to continue their education. The method used in this research is a quantitative survey with a total of 134 teachers (mean age 36.46). The data collection instrument was a teacher's attitude questionnaire towards children in conflict with the law which was compiled based on cognitive, affective and behavioral aspects (Jain, 2014). The results of the study revealed that teachers' attitudes towards ABH tended to vary, depending on the status of the process being undertaken by students who were involved in criminal cases. The status of ABH who have been sentenced to prison terms is the status that gets the lowest percentage related to the decision and attitude of the teacher considering that ABH has the right to continue school, and gets the highest percentage related to the teacher feeling ashamed when their student is ABH. As for the status of receiving coaching sanctions in social institutions, it is in the context of ABH status that the highest percentage gets from teachers to accept them back and continue their education. Although not all respondents in this study understood the definition of ABH and laws related to ABH, they expressed their attitude of accepting ABH as students with different variations in the context of ABH status itself. The results of this study can provide practical implications in the context of how educational institutions and their instruments can design policies and counseling related to how teachers and other educators respond to children in conflict with the law.

Abstract

In our society, obese young boys and girls often have problems with their self-esteem. Present research aimed to discover the relationship between body image, body mass index, body shape dissatisfaction and gender with self-esteem among obese young girls and boys. Study was conducted on (N=200, 100 young obese boys and 100 young obese girls, age ranges from 20-35 years) origin from cities of Punjab, Pakistan. Correlational research design was used while sample was selected by purposive sampling technique. A series of questionnaires Body Shape questionnaire – Modified Form (BSQMF) and Rosenberg self-esteem scale were administered to young obese boys and girls. The results indicated positive relationship among gender, body mass index, body shape dissatisfaction and self-esteem, while significant differences were found in girls and boys regarding body image and self-esteem. Girls has higher mean scores on body image that reduces their self-esteem comparatively to boys. Therefore, it is recommended to spread awareness about right body image through media to protect and enhance the mental and physical health of adults.    Dalam masyarakat kita, remaja laki-laki dan perempuan yang mengalami obesitas sering kali mempunyai masalah dengan harga diri mereka. Penelitian saat ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara citra tubuh, indeks massa tubuh, ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh dan gender dengan harga diri pada remaja perempuan dan laki-laki yang mengalami obesitas. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap (N=200, 100 remaja putra yang mengalami obesitas dan 100 remaja putri yang mengalami obesitas, rentang usia 20-35 tahun) yang berasal dari kota Punjab, Pakistan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah korelasional, sedangkan sampel dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Serangkaian kuesioner Kuesioner Bentuk Tubuh – Bentuk Modifikasi (BSQ-MF) dan skala harga diri Rosenberg diberikan kepada remaja laki-laki dan perempuan muda yang mengalami obesitas. Hasilnya menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara jenis kelamin, indeks massa tubuh, ketidakpuasan dan bentuk tubuh dengan harga diri, sedangkan perbedaan signifikan ditemukan pada anak perempuan dan laki-laki mengenai citra tubuh dan harga diri. Anak perempuan mempunyai skor rata-rata yang lebih tinggi pada citra tubuh sehingga menurunkan harga diri mereka dibandingkan anak laki-laki. Oleh karena itu, disarankan untuk menyebarkan kesadaran tentang citra tubuh yang benar melalui media untuk melindungi dan meningkatkan kesehatan mental dan fisik orang dewasa.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the tendency of elementary school students to be reluctant to attend school, avoid academic tasks, and express unhappiness in the school environment. This indicates that students have low school connectedness. Considering the importance of school connectedness in students, this research aims to address the issue of low school connectedness by providing the Play Interaction Program intervention to elementary school students with low school connectedness. The purpose of this study is to overcome the problem of low school connectedness in elementary school students. The hypothesis in this research is that the Play Interaction Program is effective in improving the school connectedness of elementary school students. This research uses a quantitative approach with the experimental research type of one group pre-post-test design. The subjects in this study are 16 students identified as having low school connectedness. The results of the Wilcoxon test show that the Play Interaction Program is effective in improving the school connectedness of elementary school students. School connectedness in students significantly increased after the Play Interaction Program intervention. This research provides an alternative in improving school connectedness by using joyful learning strategies in the teaching and learning process, ensuring that the school connectedness of elementary school students is maintained. Penelitian ini dilatari oleh adanya kecenderungan siswa sekolah dasar yang enggan bersekolah, menghindari tugas-tugas akademik dan menunjukkan perasaan tidak bahagia berada di sekolah. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa siswa memiliki school connectedness yang rendah. Mengingat pentingnya school connectedness pada siswa, maka penelitian ini berupaya memecahkan permasalahan school connectedness dengan memberikan intervensi the play interaction programme pada siswa sekolah dasar yang memiliki school connectedness yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan school connectedness yang rendah pada siswa sekolah dasar. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini, yaitu the play interaction programme efektif dalam meningkatkan school connectedness siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan tipe penelitian eksperimental one group pre-post test design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 16 orang siswa yang teridentifikasi memiliki school connectedness yang rendah. Hasil uji wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa the play interaction programme efektif dalam meningkatkan school connectedness siswa sekolah dasar. School connectedness pada siswa mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan setelah diberikan intervensi the play interaction programme. Penelitian ini memberikan alternatif dalam meningkatkan school connectedness yaitu  dengan menggunakan strategi joyfull learning dalam proses belajar mengajar sehingga school connectedness siswa sekolah dasar tetap terjaga.

Abstract

Becoming a widower after the death of a spouse in the elderly is not an easy matter for men. The event of the death of a life partner is one of life's challenges that cause and increase stress in the elderly. Culture also influences the way individuals cope with stress. This study explores the perspective of individuals living within the wisdom of local culture, as adherents of kawruh jiwa spirituality. The research employs a qualitative phenomenological study method, involving two elderly spiritual adherents who are widowers following the death of their partners. Moustakas' phenomenological data analysis is utilized. The research findings reveal the existence of a spiritual concept of kawruh jiwa knowledge that is utilized as a stress coping strategy. Among these concepts are saiki kene ngene yo gelem, nyawang karep, bungah susah, and sabutuhe saperlune sacukupe sapenake samestine sabenere. This study's findings offer novelty in terms of thematic analysis using the concept of kawruh jiwa spirituality as a source of coping strategies for elderly widowers following the death of their partners.    Menjadi duda pasca kematian pasangan pada lansia bukanlah perkara mudah bagi para pria. Peristiwa kematian pasangan hidup merupakan salah satu tantangan hidup yang mengakibatkan dan meningkatkan stres pada lansia. Kebudayaan juga turut memengaruhi cara individu tersebut dalam menghadapi stres. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti mengeksplorasisudut pandang dari individu yang hidup dalam kearifan budaya lokal, sebagai penghayat kawruh jiwa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian studi kualitatif fenomenologi, dengan melibatkan dua orang penghayat kawruh jiwa lansia yang berstatus duda pasca kematian pasangan. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data fenomenologi Moustakas. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa terdapat konsep spiritual kawruh jiwa yang dimanfaatkan sebagaistrategi koping stres. Di antaranya adalah konsep saiki kene ngene yo gelem, nyawang karep, bungah susah, dan sabutuhe saperlune sacukupe sapenake samestine sabenere. Temuan studi ini menawarkan kebaharuan dari sisi analisis tema yang menggunakan konsep spiritual kawruh jiwa sebagai sumber strategi pemecahan masalah bagi lansia duda pasca kematian pasangan.

Abstract

Anxiety may be experienced by all groups, including students who memorize the Qur’an.  This research aims to explore the types of anxiety experienced by students who memorize the Qur'an, identify the factors that contribute to it, and examine the efforts made by supervisors to address it. The study used a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation and interviews, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that students experienced both reality-based and moral-based anxiety. Environmental factors were found to contribute to anxiety, and institutional support was found to be lacking. While the vice principal made no efforts to address anxiety among students, the tahfiz extracurricular participants used self-control, asking for help, and muroja’ah as strategies to cope. This study identifies several types of anxiety and variables that contribute to it while emphasizing the importance of institutional support in resolving mental health issues. Practical consequences of this research include the development of customized treatments for students, training for educators on identifying anxiety and establishing extensive support systems within educational institutions. Kecemasan mungkin dialami oleh semua kalangan, termasuk siswa penghafal Al-Qur’an. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali jenis-jenis kecemasan yang dialami siswa penghafal Al-Qur’an, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang menyebabkannya, dan mengkaji upaya yang dilakukan guru pembimbing untuk mengatasinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara, serta dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kecemasan berbasis realitas dan berbasis moral. Faktor lingkungan ditemukan berkontribusi terhadap kecemasan, dan dukungan kelembagaan ditemukan kurang ada. Meskipun wakil kepala sekolah tidak melakukan upaya untuk mengatasi kecemasan di kalangan siswa, peserta ekstrakurikuler tahfiz menggunakan pengendalian diri, meminta bantuan, dan muroja’ah sebagai strategi untuk mengatasinya. Studi  ini mengidentifikasi beberapa jenis kecemasan dan faktor yang berkontribusi terhadapnya, sekaligus menekankan pentingnya dukungan institusional dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan kesehatan mental. Konsekuensi praktis dari penelitian ini mencakup pengembangan intervensi yang disesuaikan untuk siswa, pelatihan bagi pendidik dalam mengidentifikasi kecemasan, dan membangun sistem pendukung yang luas di lembaga pendidikan.

Abstract

   Tantangan yang berbeda dihadapi oleh remaja yang hidup dalam keluarga bermasalah yang sering disebut dengan keluarga broken home. Satu di antaranya adalah bagaimana mereka cenderung lebih banyak mencari perhatian dari orang sekitar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin melihat bagaimana gambaran perilaku mencari perhatian pada remaja yang berada dalam keluarga broken home. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi terhadap tiga orang informan dengan kondisi keluarga broken home yang berbeda. Penelitian memberikan hasil bahwa perilaku mencari perhatian pada informan beragam, baik yang bentuknya negatif seperti menyakiti diri maupun positif yang berwujud pada dorongan belajar dan berprestasi yang tinggi. Hal yang mungkin berpengaruh adalah bentuk broken home yang dialami, pengaruh lingkungan sekitar, maupun kondisi internal dari remaja itu sendiri. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar untuk mengembangkan rancangan modul intervensi yang dapat membantu remaja yang hidup dari keluarga broken mengelola dorongan mencari perhatian agar termanifestasi dalam perilaku yang lebih adaptif.    Different challenges are faced by teenagers who live in problematic families which are often called broken homes. One of them is how they tend to seek more attention from the people around them. The aim of this research is to explore the attention-seeking behavior of teenagers in broken home. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through interview and documentation techniques from three informants with different broken home family conditions. The research showed that attention-seeking behavior of the informants varied, both in negative forms such as self–harm and positive ones in the form of encouragement for learning and high achievement. Factors that may have an influence are the form of broken home experienced, surrounding environment, and internal condition of the teenager theirself. It is hoped that the result of this research can be the basis for developing intervention designs that can help adolescents living from broken families manage the urge to seek attention thus it manifests in more adaptive behavior.

Abstract

  Kindergarten teachers subjective well-being is considered essential for teaching and learning success. This study aims to determine the effect of gratitude on the subjective well-being of kindergarten teachers, which is moderated by age. The quantitative approach is used in this study, with the number of respondents 72 Aisyiyah Kindergarten teachers in Purwokerto. The instruments used are the subjective well-being scale modified from the SWLS and SPANE scales by Diener et al. (2009) with Cronbach’s ⍺ = 0,839 (15 items), the gratitude scale modified from the GRAT scale by Watkins, Woodward, Stone, and Kolts (2003) with Cronbach’s ⍺ = 0,901 (32 items), and also age demographic data. Multiple regression analysis is used to determine the effect of the variables and their moderating effect, assisted by the Jamovi 1.8.4 software. The results of the study show that there is a significant effect of gratitude on the subjective well-being of kindergarten teachers. Age is also statistically and significantly proven to moderate the relationship. Age differences give different results towards kindergarten teachers' subjective well-being. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed in the discussion.   Subjective well-being pada guru taman kanak-kanak dianggap penting untuk keberhasilan dalam proses belajar mengajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kebersyukuran terhadap subjective well-being pada guru TK yang dimoderatori oleh usia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan jumlah responden 72 guru TK Aisyiyah di Purwokerto. Instrumen yangdigunakan adalah skala subjective well-being yang dimodifikasi dari skalaSWLS dan SPANE milik Diener et al (2009) dengan Cronbach ⍺ = 0,839 (15 aitem), skala kebersyukuran dimodifikasi dari skala GRAT milik Watkins, Woodward, Stone, dan Kolts (2003) dengan Cronbach ⍺ = 0,901 (32 aitem), serta data demografi usia. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu regresi berganda untuk mengetahui pengaruh variabel dan efek moderasinya, dibantu dengan software Jamovi 1.8.4. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan kebersyukuran terhadap subjective well-being pada guru TK. Usia juga terbukti secara statistik dan signifikan dapat memoderasi hubungan tersebut. Adanya perbedaan usia, memberikan hasil yang berbedapula pengaruhnya terhadap subjective well-being guru. Implikasi teoritis dan praktis dari temuan ini dibahas dalam diskusi.

Abstract

In challenging situations like the Covid-19 pandemic, MSME entrepreneurs are among the affected parties. However, the development and efforts to recover have become a primary demand for MSME entrepreneurs to survive in difficult circumstances. Coupled with changes in consumer habits and preferences, known as the "new normal," it has become a new era that forces MSME entrepreneurs to face a situation full of ambiguity. This study employs purposive sampling to select participants, specifically MSME actors in the city of Palembang who reside in the area, resulting in a total of 150 MSME participants with a variety of product types.  This research discusses how the risk-taking propensity of MSME entrepreneurs is influenced by their tolerance ambiguity and conscientiousness. The findings revealed a significant role of tolerance ambiguity in risk-taking propensity (p<0.01), but no significant role of conscientiousness in risk-taking propensity was found.   Pada situasi yang sulit seperti pandemi Covid-19, sektor UMKM merupakan salah satu pihak paling terdampak, sehingga perkembangan dan usaha untuk dapat kembali pulih menjadikan suatu tuntutan utama bagi pelaku UMKM untuk dapat bertahan di tengah situasi yang sulit. Ditambah dengan perubahan kebiasaan serta tuntutan dan juga selera dari para konsumen atau disebut sebagai new normal menjadi suatu era baru yang membuat para pelaku UMKM harus menghadapi situasi yang penuh dengan ambiguitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling purposive untuk memilih partisipan yaitu pelaku UMKM dengan kriteria berdomisili di Kota Palembang, sehingga didapatkan partisipan sejumlah 150 pelaku UMKM dengan jenis produk yang bervariasi. Pengambilan risiko pelaku UMKM dipengaruhi oleh toleransi ambiguitas dan juga conscientiousness dari pelaku UMKM sendiri. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah ditemukan secara signifikan peran toleransi ambiguitas terhadap kecenderungan pengambilan risiko (p<0.01) namun tidak ditemukan signifikansi peran dari conscientiousness terhadap kecenderungan pengambilan risiko.
