Abstract

The service operations of a health facility depend on patient satisfaction with the quality of service provided. Health care facilities must always look after the services provided to maintain good service quality. The result of an agency's service can be seen from 5 components, namely ‘SERVQUAL’. This research is a metaanalysis study that aims to measure the effect of the quality of service provided by health facilities on patient satisfaction. The data was obtained from 10 nationally reputable articles and analysed using the Review Manager (RevMan) 5.4.1 application. Based on the analysis conducted, it was found that all SERVQUAL components (Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy, Tangible) had the opportunity to generate patient satisfaction. The variable that has the greatest chance of producing patient satisfaction is empathy (Exp. B (OR) = 5.27; 3.34-8.31). Health care facilities are expected to maintain and pay attention to the quality of their services, both in terms of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and physical evidence. For this reason, it is necessary to regularly evaluate and monitor all components owned by health service facilities to ensure that the quality of services implemented can meet the expectations of patients who come to visit. Keywords: Service Quality, Patient Satisfaction, Health Facility, Meta Analysis

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that poor-quality healthcare in low- and middle-income countries contributes to approximately 8.4 million deaths annually, highlighting service quality as a critical determinant of patient safety and health system performance. Service quality influences patient satisfaction, trust, and revisit intention, particularly in outpatient care. This study aimed to examine the relationship between service quality dimensions and revisit intention among outpatients at Siaga Al-Munawwarah Hospital, Samarinda. A quantitative cross-sectional design was conducted from January 2025 to February 2026 involving 118 respondents selected using the Lemeshow formula and purposive sampling. Data were collected through a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire measuring tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and revisit intention, and were analyzed using univariate analysis and Fisher’s Exact test at a 95% confidence level (α=0.05). The results showed significant associations between reliability (p=0.004), tangibles (p=0.001), empathy (p=0.023), and responsiveness (p=0.000) with revisit intention, while assurance (p=0.313) was not significantly related. These findings indicate that reliability, physical evidence, empathy, and responsiveness play important roles in increasing outpatient revisit intention, whereas assurance tends to function as a basic expectation rather than a distinguishing factor in patients’ decisions to return. Keywords: Service Quality, Revisit Intention, Hospital Services.

Abstract

Health workers are the spearhead of services in health facilities. WHO (Workforce 2030) states that many countries experience a concentration of health workers in urban areas and shortages in remote areas. Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health 2023 shows that DKI Jakarta (urban) does not experience a shortage of doctors, dentists, nurses, and midwives (0%), while Papua Mountains (remote) experiences a significant shortage of doctors at 62.8%, dentists at 90.2%, nurses at 45.1%, and midwives at 72.6%. This indicates the need for policy analysis of the distribution of health workers between urban and remote areas. This study is a scoping review by analyzing articles from search results using PRISMA guidelines in the Scopus, PubMed, DOAJ, and Google Scholar databases. The results of this study indicate that the distribution of health workers in Indonesia is still uneven, with a concentration in urban areas and a significant shortage in remote areas. Efforts to achieve equality through various government policies such as the Healthy Archipelago and special assignments have been carried out, but their implementation has not been optimal in addressing inter-regional disparities, so data-based policies and sustainable strategies are needed to strengthen the distribution and retention of health workers in remote areas. Keywords: Health Workforce Distribution, Inequality, Policy, Remote, Urban.

Abstract

Healthcare access in Indonesia is challenged by an imbalanced doctor-to-patient ratio and an inefficient system, limiting service availability. Telemedicine offers a solution by improving efficiency, saving time for remote patients, and providing health information. Halodoc, one of Indonesia’s most popular telemedicine applications, actively uses social media to promote its services. Social media marketing (SMM) plays an important role in stimulating the intention to reuse Halodoc. Another key factor is perceived value (PV), which reflects users’ evaluation of the benefits and worth of Halodoc’s services. This study aims to examine the impact of Halodoc’s SMM and PV on the intention to reuse its services, both individually and jointly. A descriptive and verificative quantitative approach was employed, with purposive sampling of 97 respondents who had used Halodoc, lived in Bandung, amd have viewed or followed Halodoc’s social media. Data were analyzed using SPSS. The descriptive analysis showed that SMM, PV, and reuse intention were all rated very positively by respondents. The results indicate that SMM has a significant positive effect on reuse intention. Similarly, PV has a significant positive effect on reuse intention. Furthermore, when SMM and PV are analyzed together, they exert a significant combined influence on the intention to reuse Halodoc. These findings highlight the importance of SMM and PV in strengthening user loyalty toward telemedicine services. Keywords: telemedicine, social media marketing, perceived value,  reuse intention.

Abstract

The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is an indicator used to measure a country's health development and is one of the targets in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In Indonesia, the MMR is still relatively high. Various factors are considered to contribute to the high MMR, including inadequate access and quality of antenatal care (ANC) services, delays in seeking and receiving appropriate maternal services, limited availability of birth attendants, socioeconomic tensions, cultural barriers, and inadequate handling of emergency obstetrics. One potential intervention to reduce MMR is by improving the quality of ANC services through various strategies. One such strategy is the provision of Ultrasonography (USG) services in integrated antenatal care at the primary level. However, unfortunately, the availability of USG at primary level health facilities in developing countries like Indonesia is still very limited. This scoping review aims to determine how the availability of USG services can improve the quality of integrated antenatal care at Puskesmas or Primary Level Health Facilities and provide strategic insights for its implementation. The methodology employed in this scoping review involves selecting topics and determining keywords for journal searches using both English and Indonesian languages through two scientific article databases, namely PubMed and Google Scholar. After applying the PRISMA model (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta- analyses), six articles were identified that met the inclusion criteria. The provision of ultrasound services has the potential to enhance the quality of ANC services and should be implemented comprehensively and sustainably. Keywords: Ultrasonography, Primary Health Care, Quality of ANC

Abstract

Bhayangkara Sartika Asih Hospital Bandung experienced a decline in the Public Satisfaction Index based on a survey conducted from July to September 2024, indicating potential problems in hospital services, particularly in terms of service quality and patient satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the effect of leadership on esprit de corps and its impact on service quality at Bhayangkara Sartika Asih Hospital Bandung. The research employed a quantitative approach using survey data collected from 124 respondents across various hospital divisions. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. The findings revealed that effective leadership has a significant positive impact on esprit de corps, which in turn positively affects service quality. The sense of camaraderie built through good leadership strengthens collaboration among employees, increases motivation, and enhances performance in delivering better patient care. The study also found that leadership directly contributes to service quality, while esprit de corps plays a mediating role in this relationship. This study contributes to the literature by empirically demonstrating the mediating role of esprit de corps in the relationship between leadership and service quality in a healthcare setting. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the hospital strengthen leadership training, enhance employee empowerment, and implement regular evaluations to improve service quality. Keywords:  leadership, esprit de corps, service quality, healthcare, PLS-SEM

Abstract

Toddlers or infants under two years old in particular often experience malnutrition problems. This is due to inappropriate parenting patterns where one indicator is the practice of providing complementary foods that is not optimal. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of providing nutrition education on changes in maternal nutritional knowledge and attitudes regarding the provision of MP-ASI. This study included an experimental study with a pre-experimental one group pretest posttest design. The sample of this study was 28 mothers of infants aged 6-23 months. The intervention group will be given an educational intervention for 3 weeks consisting of 3 times of nutrition education. Measurements were made of maternal knowledge and attitudes regarding MP-ASI before and after being given MP-ASI. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon difference test. There was no significant difference in maternal nutritional knowledge scores before and after being given nutrition education p = 0.051 (p> 0.05). There is a statistically significant difference in the nutritional attitude scores of mothers before and after being given nutritional education with a p-value of 0.01 (p < 0.05). Nutrition education using lecture methods, interactive discussions with video media and leaflets can improve mothers' nutritional attitudes about MP-ASI. Keywords: nutrition education, knowledge, attitude

Abstract

Poor hospital environmental quality will affect staff members' wellbeing and productivity. The aim of this study was to examine how individual variables and physical air quality affected workers' productivity at RSIA X Probolinggo, East Java. This study used a cross-sectional design and was an analytical observational study. The research was carried out between July and September of 2025. All staff members working in RSIA X's maternity and pediatric wards made up the study population. Some staff members from RSIA X's maternity and pediatric departments comprised the study's sample. Simple random sampling was the method employed. Work productivity was the dependent variable, while the independent variables were temperature, airflow velocity, air humidity, illumination, education, work motivation, and sick building syndrome. Multiple linear regression was used for data analysis. The results of this study show that the majority of employees were bachelor's degree holders (S1), had modest Sick Building Syndrome symptoms, and were moderately motivated and productive at work. The RSIA maternity and children's wards had air largely in compliance with quality criteria for temperature, airflow velocity, humidity, and illumination. While indoor humidity affects work productivity, indoor air quality (temperature, lighting, and airflow velocity) has no influence. Work motivation and Sick Building Syndrome symptoms affect productivity, whereas education does not. Keywords: hospital, productivity, indoor air quality, individual factors

Abstract

Health logistics inventory control is an essential component of pharmacy management to ensure medicine availability and support the continuity of pharmaceutical services. Inventory management that is not systematically planned may result in stockouts or excess inventory. This study aimed to describe the implementation of health logistics inventory control at PPKG Pharmacy in Makassar City using a combination of ABC analysis, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Reorder Point (ROP), and Safety Stock (SS) methods. This study employed a descriptive quantitative design with a retrospective approach. The data were obtained from records of health logistics availability and utilization from January to December 2024, as well as interviews with pharmaceutical personnel regarding the inventory control system. ABC analysis was used to classify items based on their value contribution to usage, EOQ to calculate economically planned order quantities, ROP to determine reorder points, and SS to establish buffer stock levels. The results indicate that ABC analysis effectively identifies priority items requiring stricter monitoring, while the application of EOQ, ROP, and SS provides a systematic basis for planning the quantity and timing of medicine orders. Based on these findings, it is recommended that PPKG Pharmacy consider implementing the integrated ABC–EOQ–ROP–SS methods within its inventory management system as a decision-support alternative for procurement planning and stock monitoring, in order to minimize the risks of stockouts and overstocking and to support the sustainability of pharmaceutical services. Abstract

Since January 2024, the public hospital (RSUD) in Yogyakarta City has been implementing a KRIS-JKN trial using 12 standard dimensions to improve the quality of inpatient services. This study aimed to determine the difference in inpatient satisfaction between KRIS-JKN and non-KRIS-JKN patients at Yogyakarta City Hospital across five service dimensions: tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The study was conducted from December 2024 to January 2025 using a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling, involving 108 inpatients. A validated satisfaction questionnaire was used, and data were analyzed using t-test and Mann-Whitney test with SPSS version 23.0. The results showed that most respondents were female (51.9%, p=0.425), with no significant difference in satisfaction based on demographic characteristics. However, non-KRIS-JKN patients reported higher satisfaction (139.04±3.826) than KRIS-JKN patients (134.00±3.251). Significant differences were found in all dimensions: tangible (p=0.001), reliability (p=0.002), responsiveness (p=0.001), assurance (p=0.001), and empathy (p=0.001), with non-KRIS-JKN patients showing consistently higher scores. These findings indicate that KRIS-JKN implementation still needs improvement in several aspects. Before full implementation, hospitals should prioritize better lighting, accessible bathrooms, and regular monitoring of room temperature and humidity through ventilation maintenance using thermometers and hygrometers to ensure patient comfort and quality care. Keywords: KRIS-JKN, Patient Satisfaction, Hospitalisation, Yogyakarta.
