Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the explanation of time dilation according to scientific theory and the Qur'an, and to analyze the application of video with the POE2WE model. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review technique. The results of this study indicate that according to scientific theory time dilation is the time difference due to relative motion. Two observers moving relative to each other will experience a time difference. In several verses of the Qur'an Allah explains that one day according to Allah is equal to a thousand years according to human calculations. This shows that before Einstein discovered the theory of relativity, the Qur'an had long explained the phenomenon. The application of video with the POE2WE model in time dilation physics learning material is very suitable to be applied. The videos are presented in an interesting way so that they are not boring and are not centered on the teacher as a source of information.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge in critical thinking of physics education students about the use of solar cell technology. This study uses a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 40 students of physics education at the University of Jember. Critical thinking indicators that must be studied are analysis, explanation, interpretation, evaluation, inference, and self-regulation. The research instrument used a test given via google form. The results showed that the percentage of students who were able to answer questions correctly was still relatively low. This shows that the knowledge of physics education students at the University of Jember about solar cell energy is still very lacking.

Abstract

Wind is a gas flow that is on a large scale and in large quantities caused by the rotation of the earth and the difference in the air around it. This study aims to analyze students' knowledge about the potential use of wind as an energy source along the southern coast of Java. This research method was qualitative with respondents from physics education students at the University of Jember batch 2020. The research data collection uses a questionnaire (Google Form). The wind potential around the southern coast of Java has an average speed of 3-8 m/s. In this area, it is very suitable to build a wind power plant because the average wind speed to drive the wind turbine in this power plant is between 5-8 m/s. Students have good knowledge about the potential use of wind as an energy source along the southern coast of Java.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' scientific literacy skills in grade 9B at the 7th State Junior High School Muaro Jambi by learning Discovery Learning Muja. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. The research instruments were learning observation sheets, student observation sheets, scientific literacy tests, attitude questionnaires. The indicator of the success of students' scientific literacy was that at least 50% of respondents have achieved scientific literacy in the good category. The application of Muja's Discovery Learning on plant and animal breeding materials in grade 9B at the 7th State Junior High School Muaro Jambi can improve scientific literacy. 53% of students have reached the good category. Muja's Discovery Learning can be applied to the topics/materials that can be related to the local potential of the Muaro Jambi area. The concept discovery process will be more meaningful if it is carried out through investigations/experiments that emphasize student activities that support the development of scientific literacy.

Abstract

The research aims to examine the effect of PhET based science learning on junior high school students' motivation and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). This type of research is a quasi experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample was students of class VII B as the experimental class as many as 30 students and class VII C as the control class as many as 30 students carried out at MTs Negeri 4 Banyuwangi. Data collection was done by using test techniques, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used the independent sample t-test. The results showed that science learning based on PhET had a significant effect on student motivation and had no significant effect on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of junior high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to improve science process skills by developing instructional videos of science material for class VII SMP, namely the interaction of living things with their environment. The method of this study is Research and Development (R&D) using ADDIE instructional design. The validation result shows that the developed instructional video classified in the category very good and does not need to be revised with the score of each validator, namely: (1) 87.5%; (2) 92.5%; and (3) 97.5%). The results of the effectiveness of the video based on student questionnaire data showed that: (1) 25.6% of students are strongly agreed; (2) 59,4% of students are agreed; and (3) 15% of students are disagreed. The results of the N-Gain analysis show that the process skills of students after using the instructional videos are in the high (28.1%), medium (59.4%), and low (12.5%) categories. Overall, students’ science process skills increased by 79%. This study concludes that the developed instructional videos can be said to be valid, effective, and improve students’ science process skills. Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of student communication skills during online learning. The subjects of this study were 40 students of class X MIPA SMA N 1 Bangsri. This research was conducted in April-May 2021 using a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection tool uses a questionnaire via the google form link. The questionnaire refers to 5 indicators, namely: creating an atmosphere during discussion, adjusting word choice, volume and voice intonation, conveying ideas/results clearly, effectively and systematically, being able to see the ability of their friends to communicate, and being able to evaluate the material. The results of this study indicate that students' communication skills are 28% in the low category.

Abstract

In today's world of education, students are required to think critically. Therefore, a learning process is needed that can improve students' critical thinking skills, one of which is in choosing a learning model. The chosen learning model certainly has its advantages and disadvantages. So in this study aims to analyze or compare several studies that have been conducted related to the most influential learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills. The model in this study is a meta-analysis. From the results of the analysis of the highest effect size value based on the learning model, namely the guided discovery learning model, namely 1.13 with a very high category. The highest effect size value based on educational level, namely at the tertiary education level, 1.19 is in the very high category. And the effect size value is based on the learning material used, namely environmental physics material, 1.19, very high category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan google classroom dan dampaknya dalam pembelajaran fisika, serta mengidentifikasi model yang cocok digunakan pada pembelajaran fisika. Jenis penelitian ini deskriptif menggunakan metode literatur review. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah penggunaan google classroom berdasarkan tingkatan satuan pendidikan untuk jenjang SMP masih sedikit, jenjang SMA termasuk sedang, dan pada jenjang Universitas temasuk sedikit. Hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran fisika yang menggunakan google classroom termasuk kategori kurang baik. Model pembelajaran yang cocok menggunakan google classroom yaitu model blanded learning. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dampak penggunaan google classroom terhadap kompetensi belajar fisika peserta didik masih rendah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problem solving skills of class X students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Demak in the academic year 2020-2021. In this study, there were 13 students who had taken the impulse momentum material. This study used an instrument in the form of essay questions consisting of 5 questions, 3 types of conceptual questions and then 2 questions in the form of arithmetic or mathematical questions. The data were analyzed using the method of describing the results of students' answers which led to indicators of problem solving abilities which included the ability to identify problems, the ability to define and represent problems, the ability to explore strategies, the ability to apply strategies, and the ability to evaluate solutions. The results of this study are in the form of students' problem solving abilities on the physics concepts contained in the momentum impulse material. From the results of the answer analysis, the tenth grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Demak are good at solving problems but in wording they are still not right. With the results of this study, it is necessary to develop problem-solving skills in class X students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Demak.
