Abstract

Two diverging geography-oriented Policy development paradigms have been prevailing within the discourse of Indonesian context, namely land and maritime-oriented paradigms. The two paradigms often emerge in ideological discourses that predispose national identity. Throughout the Indonesia’s history, discourses on development paradigms seems to alternate between two paradigms. However, since 2014, maritime paradigm has taken a dominant role in the Indonesian discourses. This paper propose empirical data associated with the environmental, economic and social conditions of Segara Anakan, Central of Java, we show how the land paradigm has resulted in undesirable consequences. Segara Anakan is a coastal region in which various communities have for decades developed economic activities. Major environmental damages in the region have been reported and social conflicts have occurred unresolved. Instead of choosing between land and maritime paradigms, in this paper we propose a more ecological-oriented development framework that is based on actor-network theory. we emphasis key measures: registering relevant heterogeneous entities, including human actors, social groups, small islands, straits, ocean inhabitants, etc; consultations that involve various spoke-persons. We argue in the paper that both land and maritime paradigms are too macro in their scope to tackle heterogeneities and complexities at the regional scopes.

Abstract

The relation of NU - Muhammadiyah in the history of modern Indonesia is indeed very interesting. Throughout the course of this largest Islamic organization is often colored by coordination, competition, and even confrontation. Reflecting on the Regent's election contestation in Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta became a real "battleground" for Muhammadiyah and NU organizations to show its existence. The stretching of the relationship between NU and Muhammadiyah is strongly influenced by the existence of their political machines, namely PKB and PAN. Therefore, this study will focus to identify the capital owned by NU and Muhammadiyah and to track the strategies undertaken between NU and Muhammadiyah in utilizing this capital in the simultaneous post-conflict local election as a structure of opportunities. To answer that questions above, this research was carried out through a case study method and used the modality framework as stated by Pierre Bourdieu. The results of this study indicate that there was no increase in exchange between CSOs and candidates in the election of the Regent in the Regency. Gunung Kidul. The post-conflict local election only gives a new field to habitus that has been settled, because the exchange that occurs is a manifestation of relations that have been institutionalized before.gb777

Abstract

Government efforts to support food security have been made through various potentials in the agricultural sector, such as sago development as a locally-based alternative food source. However, the facts show that sago can only be used as a second staple food and requires adequate local government capacity in its development. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data collection techniques used are documentation techniques in journals, proceedings, books, government websites, and online news related to various government strategies in developing sago. The results showed that the Meranti Islands Government had socialized the "One Day With Sago" program in knowledge and skills dimensions. However, due to insufficiently accommodated socialization, this program was less effective in changing the surrounding communitys lifestyle. Second, local governments ability in the technical system dimension is already running well; increased sago production shows this. Third, in the managerial system dimension, the local government has designated Meranti as a sago cluster and supports the sago development program budgeted through central, provincial, and district funds. Fourth, in the dimensions of values and norms, every organization that handles agricultural affairs has a good understanding of the sago development policys direction and objectives in the Meranti Islands.gb777

The questionnaires distributed through online media could limit the respondents to give their answers. If they are under 20 years old or same as those who have graduated from college, it could be assumed that they often do transactions service provided by the government. Ergo-iconic service values proposed in this research was used as the independent variable. Abstract

Since 1999, the votes of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) have always been relatively superior, despite having to deal with various internal and external problems. By winning the elections, PDIP has given and placed the best party cadres in public positions in the legislature and executive, which directly influences the course of the Indonesian nation. Various survey results show that PDIP is still the top choice with the highest electability. Based on these data, the purpose of this study is to analyze the institutional transformation of PDI, especially in strengthening ideology and the process of party depersonalization. The method used is a literature study and the data analysis technique is carried out by analyzing the three dimensions of the concept of party institutionalization from Harmel et al. (2019), namely internal institutionalization, external institutionalization, and objective institutionalization (objective durability). From the method used, it was found that the party had carried out organizational transformation during the 1999-2019 period. PDIP also continues to consolidate to advance democracy, because political parties are the key to maintaining and developing the quality of democracy. It was also found that political institutionalization is important. An important aspect of party institutionalization is the strength of ideology as a party-political concept that underlies the ideals, struggles, and norms of the party. Finally, the partys ability to depersonalize shows significant results in party institutionalization.gb777
