Abstract

Hyperthermia is a condition where the bodytemperature is higher than usual , and is a symptomof a disease[1]. If not promptly treated hyperthermiamay cause an increase in respiratory rate and pulse, increased heart rate, chills, excessive sweating, increased thirst, mild to severe dehydration, andseizures[2]. Hyperthermia can occur in 1 of 2,000cases in children aged 1 to 10 years which is ascribedto the pediatric emergency department . Increasedbody temperature at an ordinary child makesparents into becoming stressed and anxious[3].Onion is a multipurpose herb that can be used tolower the body temperature[4]. Phytochemicalcompounds contained in the onions one of which isa flavanoid [5]. Flavonoids show more than onehundred kinds of bioactivity was shown among otherantipyretic effect, analgesic and anti-inflammatory[6]. Flavonoid found in onions as much as 29%.Flavonoids in onions second highest after green tea, where onions are also often used in everydayactivities within the community so it is very easy tofind in the community[5]. Red onion , besidescontaining flavonoids, also contains organic sulfurcompounds that Allylcysteine sulfoxide (Alliin) whichserves destroy the formation of blood clots. Thismakes the smooth blood circulation so the heat fromthe body can be more easily distributed to theperipheral blood vessels.Data based on the results of preliminary studiesconducted in space Bougenville dr. LumajangHaryato hospital diseases showed 10 patientstreated in the room is DHF, Seizures Fever, vomiting,GEA, pneumonia, typhoid, GEDR, bronchitis,Talasemi, and Febris. DHF disease ranked first inwhich there are 37.3 % of the top ten most prevalentdiseases are DHF or 72 out of 193 patients. Based onthe description of the background above, the writeris interested in studying the effect of onioncompress to temperature changes in patients withhyperthermia. The general objective of this studywas to analyze the effect of onion compress therapyin patients with hyperthermia treated in Bougenvilledr . Haryato Lumajang.

Abstract

Bone marrow is the pioneer for studying stem cells. The basic concept of stem cells obtained by studyinghematopoietic stem cells. Although how theinteraction of HSCs with the local environmentnecessary for the maintenance of stem cells can notbe fully explained ( Compston, 2002; Iwasaki andSuda., 2010). Studies of HSCs aims to study thehabits of these cells in a population of cellscontained in bone marrow . So far little is knownabout the interaction of the bone marrow niche. Thestudy was conducted using a culture system thatlimited done in a sustainable way to prove theinteraction of the bone marrow niche. From theseresults can then be identified subset of osteoblasts (N-Cadherin + CD 45-) that physically attaches to theHSCs in the BM . ( Tong Yin , 2006)Bone marrow consist of hematopoietic cells arewrapped by the bone structure. Hematopoietic cellsdevelop in the bone cavity and retained in the bonemarrow until they have matured, then released intothe vascular system ( Yin and Li , 2006). Most cells ofhaemopoietic can be found next to the endostealsurface of the bone, which layer is primarilyosteoblasts. Osteoblasts is one type of bone cell thatserves to reform or bone formation. HSCs are stemcells that are known to differentiate into osteoclasts.Osteoclasts are the cells of bone that serves to boneresorption. Their physical proximity betweenosteoblasts and which HSCs are parent cellsosteoclasts, as well as the identification of N -Cadherin / β - Catenin adherent complex betweenthe two prove their relationship or communicationbetween these cells. Osteoblast cells not only play arole in bone formation, but as osteoblast niche inthe bone marrow also, contribute to themaintenance of HSCs that are stem cells osteoclasts(Yin and Li , 2006 ; Tong Yin , 2006 ).There are two main types of stem cells areembryonic and adult stem cells . Pluripotentembryonic stem cells derived from the inner cellmass of blastocysts and has the ability to be a threeembryonic germ layers , namely ectoderm ,endoderm , and mesoderm (Li and Xie , 2005). Atbirth, adult stem cells including GSCs and SSCs willoccupy and live in a special microenvironment, called a niche (Li and Sie., 2005)Niche is different depending on the type of tissue ororgan. Structurally niche supported by the cells andtheir interactions molecular signals that preparedand provided to form a microenvironment for stemcells. Niche hypothesis has actually been describedby Scofield in 1978 ( Li and Sie , 2005; Yin and Li ,2006) . Stem cell niche is supported by manysignaling and adhesion molecules involved in theinteraction of the stem cell niche, accounted diversecharacteristics for each niche function ( figure 1 )that is; SDF -1/CXCR4 , SCF/c - Kit, Jagged/Notch,angiopoietin-1/ Tie2 ( Ang-1/Tie2 ), and Ca2 + -sensing receptor ( Yin and Li, 2006). Most studiesconducted to know and understand the molecularmechanisms of interaction and behavior of stemcells. Understanding the interaction and behavior ofstem cells in the bone marrow niche is veryimportant to understand the eventsosteoclastogenesis, especially how osteoclastprecursor cells can be recruited from niche thenmobile until homing (Kollet et al , 2007). Research isusually conducted in diseases associated with theaccumulation of osteoclasts or osteoclast progenitorcells that causes pathological osteolysis , such as ;benign bone tumors and bone metastases cancer (Kollet et al , 2007; Jennifer , 2009).

Abstract

Hypertension is still on top fifteen of the diseaserank, based on data from the medical record ofpatient visits in Jember Region Community HealthCenter in 2014 (Jember Health Office, 2014).Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease that lead tovarious complications and became one of the maincauses of premature death. Estimated 15 millionpeople suffer from hypertension in Indonesia.National basic medical research in 2013 showed theprevalence of hypertension in Indonesia as much as25.8%. The prevalence was 6 to 15% of adults and50% of them do not realize having a hypertension, sothey tend to be severe hypertension because theyare not avoiding and not knowing the risk factorsand 90% are of essential hypertension. Morbidity inpatients with unknown or undiagnosed hypertensiontend to be higher than morbidity in diagnosedhypertension patients at various health carefacilities. This leads to the prevention of variouscomplications of hypertension, such as stroke, coronary heart disease, and other complications, becomes difficult to be minimized.Risk factors of hypertension can be divided into twowhich are modifiable (physical activity,drinking/eating habit, smoking habit, etc.) and nonmodifiable(gender, age and genetic) risk factors(Adnyani and Sundana, 2014). Numerous attemptsto intervene in the control of hypertension with riskfactors need to be carried out through collaborationbetween the government, especially health workers, and the community. Strategies such as promotiveand preventive efforts in controlling hypertension isan effort to improve the health status of thecommunity.Modifiable risk factors still have many prospects tobe developed to overcome hypertension. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the management ofhypertension disease through the modifiable riskfactors approach in Jember Region CommunityHealth Center. From the evaluation, we hope toimprove and make more innovation on themanagement approach of hypertension disease inthe future.

Abstract

The purpose of this analysis is to examine which then can be used as information about the role of country of origin on consumer behavior developing countries. Based on this study the authors hope to provide a reference solution that can be used to overcome the problem of the people of Indonesia, especially in economic terms, both for governments, businesses, banks, academia and the general public. The methods used to analyze and solve problems in this paper is to examine the books of previous studies which could serve as a reference. The conclusion of the article the results of this thinking is that the country of origin can form consumers perceived quality and cause as well as inhibit consumer purchase intention. Country of origin of a product plays a role in shaping the quality perceived by the consumer and would later influence consumer purchase intent. Thus, companies must be able to face the competitive strategies of various countries. The formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has facilitated consumers to see and enjoy the products from various countries. Therefore, when companies promote their products to the global market, they also have to consider the image of the country of origin.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection hasbeen a major global health issue. HIV infection notonly affects the health of a population, but alsosignificantly impacts the economic and socialenvironment as well6. In Indonesia, the prevalenceof HIV infection among 15-49 year olds wasestimated around 0.4% in 20138. However, acrosstwo provinces in Tanah Papua, namely West Papuaand Papua, the epidemic was extremely high withHIV prevalence at 2.3% among general populationwhich categorized as a generalized populationepidemic level, based on WHO classification8. Thehigh HIV prevalence in Tanah Papua suggests theneed for prevention strategies that consider thelocal context. One of strategies for HIV preventionprograms is to assess HIV/AIDS knowledge ofpopulations14.Knowledge on HIV and AIDS is an importantprerequisite for the adoption of behaviouralchanges to prevent the risk of HIV transmission4.Assessing factors that contribute to the perceivedknowledge of HIV/AIDS is essential to prioritize anddeliver effective HIV prevention programs in TanahPapua. HIV knowledge has been shown to bedetermined by wider societal aspects such as,socioeconomic status, social networks andcommunity characteristics9,13. Understanding theassociation of these factors are important aspects toconsider when designing HIV prevention programs incommunities. Such studies can be useful forHIV/AIDS service providers better understand themechanism through which HIV/AIDS messages aretransmitted and received by individuals in thecommunity9.However, the literature on HIV/AIDS knowledge andits determinants in Tanah Papua, Indonesia is limiteddespite the relatively high prevalence of HIV inTanah Papua. Previous studies on socioeconomicfactors and HIV/AIDS knowledge in Indonesia are notcomprehensive and only focus on the associationbetween HIV/AIDS knowledge and individualsocioeconomic characteristics in risky populations.Additionally, no studies have investigated the linkbetween community socioeconomic characteristics, social capital and HIV/AIDS knowledge in theseprovinces. Therefore, the aim of this study is to assess HIV/AIDSawareness and knowledge and to examine anassociation between individual characteristics, community participation, community characteristicsand HIV/AIDS awareness and knowledge among 15years older in Tanah Papua Indonesia.
