The coffee plant is one commodity that is developedin kabuapaten Jember. Coffee chemical constituents, such as flavonoids, xanthine, antioxidants, alkaloids, polyphenols may serve as anti-inflammatory,antibacterial, platelet aggregation. Currently, the production ofrobusta coffee production reached third copiesworldwide.7.8 Coffee brews are very widelyconsumed in the world due to their pleasant flavorand taste as well as for their stimulating effect onthe mental and physical activities. Several years ago,in California, a research conducted by TakayukiShibamoto, a professor of environmental toxicology, found that freshly brewed coffee contains potentantioxidants equal to the amount found in threeoranges. Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolicdiseases characterized by hyperglycemia [1]. DM isclassified based on the pathogenic process that leadsto hyperglycemia as opposed to earlier criteria suchas age of onset or type of therapy. There are twobroad categories of DM, designated type 1 and type2 [2]. There were 10 million cases of diabetes inIndonesia in 2015. The number of these cases ispredicted to continue rising [3].Therapeutic approaches for the treatment oftype 2 diabetes, such as diet, sulphonylurea, metformin and insulin therapy, are all successful indecreasing fasting glucose levels. The importance ofpostprandial hyperglycaemia has led to thedevelopment of new agents to control this importantaspect of diabetes. Thus, α-glucosidase enzyme hasbecome one of important target in the treatment oftype-2 diabetes [4,5].α-glucosidase inhibition will slow thedigestion of carbohydrate and absorbtion ofmonosaccahrides in the proximal jejenum [6].Acarbose is an oligosaccharide which reversiblyinhibits intestinal α-glucosidase enzymes responsiblefor digestion of complex carbohydrates anddisaccharides to absorbable monosaccharides [7].The most common adverse effect of acarbose isabdominal discomfort associated with flatulence anddiarrhoea [8]. The undesirable side effects that existunderlie the emergence of research for alternativetherapy of type 2 diabetes, particularly through themechanism of inhibition enzyme α-glucosidase.Tea (Camellia sinensis L.) is annual plant thatwidely spread in Southest Asia, India, South China,Northwest Laos, Thailand and Burma. Tea is one ofthe most popular beverages consumed worldwide[9]. Various studies have reported beneficial effectof tea extract, including for diabetes mellitustherapy. Previous studies showed that tea extracthave antidiabetic activity in mice induced bystreptozotocin [10]. Antidiabetic activity of teaextract have been reported by Yang and Koh. Theresults showed that black tea extract had higheractivity to inhibit α-glucosidase than green teaextract. The present study was designed to comparein vitro α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of varioustea extracts, such as black tea, green tea, oolong tea,and white tea.

Pharmaceutical care is generally based onpharmacist’s responsibilities to guaranteeconformity, effectiveness, and safety of drug therapyby identifying, preventing, as well as solvingproblems of drug therapy received by patient.Pharmaceutical care as a practical guidance isdescribed into three activities: 1) assessing patient’sneeds regarding drug therapy, 2) making care plans,3) following up care plans and evaluating. Anapproach is needed to assess patient’s needsregarding the used drugs which can cover precisionof indication, capable to achieve therapy effects, security and conformity of drug usage.Therapeutic communication between pharmacistand patient becomes the absolute requirement inperforming pharmaceutical care. The finding ofresearch conducted by Research Center of Ministryof Health that was taken in five provinces inIndonesia stated that pharmacist as the person incharge in the lack of communication happened inthe drugstore between pharmacist and consumers inparticular and society in general (Zalbawi, 1991).In the research conducted by Indri MulyaniBunyamin (2005), it was found that 69.9%pharmacists works in the drugstores around DKIJakarta have high quality practices particularly in thepractical management and accountability, but stillhave low pharmaceutical care. The finding of the research on the implementationof pharmaceutical care in prescribed drug servicefound that pharmacists’ activity in assessingprescription completeness, 3.8% bad of doctors’prescription, dentists’ prescription, and veterinaries’prescription; 2.9% bad of drug preparation anddispensing; 21.5% bad of assessment of patient’sdrug therapy; 33.3% bad of making plans forpatient’s drug therapy; 41.9% bad of evaluation andfollowing up patient’s drug therapy (Athiyah, 2005).The finding indicates that pharmacists are stilloriented on drug supply as product, while patient’s needs-oriented which is usually described as theeffort to improve life quality is still ignored.Based on the description and the fact above, thereare lot of issues that must be explored further abouthow pharmaceutical care as a philosophy isimplemented in the form of pharmacists’ taskbehavior in drugstore. Thus, this study examinedpharmacists’ behavior in pharmaceutical care. Thegeneral objective of this study is to createpharmaceutical care model of prescribed drugservice and its influences on the pharmacists’behavior in pharmaceutical care.

Abstract

Preparedness according to the Constitution ofIndonesia No. 24 2007 on Disaster Management is aseries of activities done in order to anticipatedisasters through the organization as well as throughappropriate and useful activities. The disastermanagement in Indonesia adopts the paradigm ofrisk reduction, disaster management which aims toimprove the ability of communities to manage andreduce the risk of disaster to society the disastersubjects. This prevention is focused on pre-disasterphase to minimize the risks (BNPB, 2009). Jember islocated at the altitude 0-3330 meters above the sealevel. Its area with the altitude of 100-500 metersabove the sea level is the largest area, 1240.77 km²or 37.68% of total area of Jember. Meanwhile, thenarrowest area is the area with a height of over2,000 meters above the sea level with 31, 34 km² or0.95% of the area of Jember. Jember has atopographic character of fertile plains canyon in theCentral and South parts and is surrounded bymountains that extends to the boarder of East andWest. The area of South West has a plateau with aheight of 0-25 meters above the sea level, while theNortheast area, which borders with Bondowoso, andthe Southeast area bordering Banyuwangi has over1,000 meters above the sea level (PPSP 2012).Based on the geographical conditions, the potentialdisasters that may occur are such as, floods, landslides and tsunami. The potential disaster isinfluenced by Jember topography consisting ofplains, mountains, and beaches. The data fromJember Health Department in 2011 showed thatthere were 21 of 31 Districts potentially disaster mayhappen. When the disaster happens, it causes humancasualties and property losses. The human casualtiescause insecurity to the health status of affectedpeople and communities living around the disasterarea. Therefore, the acceleration of the handling ofthe victim is not only necessary in emergencyresponse, but also it should be emphasized on theprepared efforts carried out as early as possible, sothat the number of casualties can be minimized.Preparedness is a shared responsibility ofstakeholders, central government, localgovernments, communities and the business world. The role has been written in constitution No. 242007 about Disaster Management. One of the responsible stakeholders in implementingpreparedness activities is Public Health Center (PHC).PHC functions as the central driver of health insight, family and community empowerment center, andthe first level health care center which is qualifiedand affordable. Especially, on the third function, itincludes aspects of public health and personal healthservices including handling the emergency patient inthe community.
