Abstract

An essential component of the educational system, learning evaluation measures the success of the teaching and learning process as well as the attainment of learning objectives. Evaluation plays a strategic role in Arabic language learning because it covers the four primary language skills-istima‘ (listening), kalam (speaking), qira‘ah (reading), and kitabah (writing)-in addition to evaluating mastery of cognitive components like mufradat (vocabulary) and qawa‘id (grammar). In addition to explaining the goals, purposes, and forms of evaluation pertinent to Arabic language instruction, this article attempts to theoretically investigate the ideas of evaluation, assessment, and measurement in the context of learning the language.The study's findings demonstrate the need for a thorough assessment of Arabic language acquisition that takes into account the cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor domains and makes use of a variety of tools in order to characterize students' overall communicative proficiency.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan dasar pembelajaran berbasis proyek di MTsN Batu, Malang, sebagai upaya mengatasi tantangan pembelajaran bahasa Arab yang monoton dan kurang kontekstual. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan metode ini dalam meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa Arab siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, yang meliputi wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis proyek berhasil menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang interaktif dan kolaboratif, meningkatkan pemahaman siswa, dan mengembangkan keterampilan sosial dan komunikasi siswa. Proyek yang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa memfasilitasi penerapan pemahaman dalam konteks nyata, yang pada gilirannya meningkatkan motivasi dan kepercayaan diri mereka dalam berkomunikasi. Penelitian ini memberi otorisasi eksplorasi lebih lanjut tentang keterlibatan orang tua dan guru dalam mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis proyek.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) model in teaching maharatul kitabah (Arabic writing skills) at Fathona Pakjo Palembang Junior High School using a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative approach involves descriptive analysis to evaluate students' learning outcomes before and after implementing the STAD model. In contrast, the qualitative approach explores students' and teachers' experiences during the learning process. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers and students, and an analysis of instructional documents. The findings indicate that implementing the STAD model significantly enhances students' understanding of Arabic language structures and their writing skills. Additionally, the use of the Arabicverse textbook as a teaching resource supports the learning process by providing systematic and practice-based materials. The most prominent keywords in this study are learning, the STAD model, and Arabicverse. These findings have significant implications for developing Arabic language teaching strategies at the secondary school level, particularly in utilizing cooperative learning methods to improve students' writing skills

Abstract

Basic Arabic language learning at SMP Pahlawan Nasional Medan is still limited because it is not included in the formal curriculum, although students' interest is quite high. This condition creates a gap between students' learning motivation and the availability of engaging learning media suitable for the characteristics of middle school students. This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of a multisensory learning media based on the Lift the Flap Audio Book to improve basic Arabic language skills for seventh-grade students. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. Data were collected through observations, interviews, expert validation questionnaires (both content and media experts), as well as pre-tests and post-tests of students, and analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results show that the developed media is feasible and effective. Content expert validation scored 75% (quite feasible), and media expert validation scored 95.45% (very feasible). The small group trial obtained a student response of 84.5% (very good), while the large group trial showed an increase in average scores from 55.8 to 82.4 with an N-Gain of 0.64 (medium-high category). In conclusion, the Lift the Flap Audio Book effectively improves students' listening, reading, and pronunciation of basic Arabic vocabulary, while providing an interactive, enjoyable, and student-centered learning experience.

Abstract

This study investigates the writing proficiency of sixth-grade students at Madrasah Al Ihsan Medan in producing Khat Naskhi script, which remains insufficiently neat and does not fully conform to the proper conventions of Arabic calligraphy. The study aims to (1) describe the students' level of competence in writing Khat Naskhi, (2) identify common errors and weaknesses found in their writing, and (3) analyze the internal and external factors influencing their performance. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, adopting Miles and Huberman's analytical model, which comprises three major stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving one teacher and fifteen sixth-grade students at Madrasah Al Ihsan Medan. The findings reveal that the students' ability to write Khat Naskhi during Al Khat lessons remains below the expected standard. Several factors contribute to this condition, including insufficient learning materials, lack of practice outside classroom hours, low student engagement during lessons, and limited instructional time for Al Khat subjects. The study underscores the need for enhanced pedagogical support, increased practice opportunities, and curriculum adjustments to improve students' mastery of Khat Naskhi.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types and functions of tarkib iḍafi constructions in Kitab ad-Dardir ʿala Qissat al-Miʿraj by Shaykh Najmuddin al-Ghaiṭi, based on the grammatical theory of Imam Ibn Malik. The research is motivated by the complexity of iḍafah structures in classical Arabic texts, which often carry deep grammatical and semantic meanings. This research employs a descriptive-analytical method with a qualitative approach through a library-based study. The data consist of 132 iḍafah phrases collected directly from the text. The analysis was conducted through three stages: identifying iḍafah forms, classifying their types and functions, and interpreting their meanings based on the theories of Ibn Malik and Sharh Ibn ʿAqil. The findings reveal two types of iḍafah: idhafah maʿnawiyyah (semantic genitive) and idhafah lafẓiyyah (phonetic genitive). Of the total data, 116 phrases are categorized as idhafah maʿnawiyyah, and 16 phrases as idhafah lafẓiyyah. In terms of function, 72 iḍafah constructions serve the function of taʿrif (definition), 43 serve takhsis (specification), and 17 serve takhfif (phonetic lightening). These findings indicate that the iḍafah constructions in this text are primarily used to clarify and define meaning semantically (maʿnawiyyah) rather than phonetically (lafẓiyyah). This study contributes to the understanding of Arabic syntactic structures and enriches the study of classical Arabic grammar in academic contexts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of the Shadowing Technique in learning the Maharah of Kalam Santri Manhalun Nabighin Arabic and Tahfidz Dormitory. The research method used is pre-experimental design, using one experimental class. The sample used in this study is 13. The data collection technique uses a recorded oral test. The results of this study used a t-test to determine the difference between pretest and posttest results. The results of this study show that there is an increase in the maharah kalam of Santri Manhalun Nabighin Arabic and Tahfidz Dormitory. This can be proven by the results of the hypothesis test, which shows at a significance level of 5% tcal = 6.948 > ttable = 2.179. From these results, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the conceptual and implementive differences between the 2013 Curriculum and the 2019 Curriculum (KMA No. 183-184 of 2019) in Arabic language learning at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level. Using a qualitative research method based on literature study, this study examines the philosophical, sociological, psychopedagogical foundations, and characteristics of the two curriculums as listed in various official documents and scientific literature. The results of the study show that the 2013 Curriculum emphasizes national standardization through the structure of Core Competencies (KI) and Basic Competencies (KD) which are standard and centralized, so that Arabic language learning tends to be oriented to structural and theoretical aspects. On the contrary, KMA 183-184 of 2019 presents a new paradigm through Learning Outcomes (CP) and Learning Objectives (TP) that are more flexible, contextual, and oriented towards communicative competence and religious moderation. The 2019 curriculum also provides more space for the use of technology, strengthening local culture, and teacher autonomy in designing learning that is relevant to the needs of students and the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. Thus, it can be concluded that KMA 2019 offers a more adaptive, holistic, and functional approach to learning Arabic, while responding to global demands and the development of science and technology.

Abstract

This study analyzes the criteria of literary criticism on the beauty aspect of Arabic poetry in classical and modern contexts, focusing on the criteria of poetry beauty put forward by Ibn Qutaibah and Mahmud Sami Al-Barudi. Arabic poetry that has existed since the ignorant era is the main form of expression of the Arab nation that reflects their social, cultural, and political conditions. This study uses the work of Ibn Qutaibah entitled Asy-Syi'ru wa asy-Syu'ara' and the work of Mahmud Sami Al-Barudi entitled Al-hikam as the object of research material. The research method used is a descriptive-qualitative method, the data taken from primary data. The data collection method uses the observation method with a note-taking technique. Furthermore, the data collected by the researcher is grouped according to the existing framework. The results of this study indicate that the criteria for the beauty of poetry according to Ibn Qutaibah are very simple and objective, only covering the quality of the words and meaning, while Mahmud Sami Al-Barudi emphasizes more on the aesthetic aspects and internationalization of poetry. This study also shows that poetry not only functions as art but also as a communication tool that reflects the identity and social values of society.

Abstract

The development of listening skill test materials using Moodle aims to produce Moodle-based test materials for third-grade Tsanawiyah students at Nurul Falah Islamic Boarding School, to determine the extent of the contribution of Moodle-based instructional media in improving students’ listening achievement, and to identify changes in students’ behavior after using Moodle-based media. The development procedure for the Moodle-based media follows five stages: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The assembled Moodle-based instructional media were then assessed for their effectiveness. Based on the test results obtained from the use of the Moodle-based learning media, the pre-test showed an average score of 63.01, while the post-test average increased to 83.02, indicating a significant improvement. After using Moodle-based instructional media, students became more active during the learning process and more enthusiastic about participating in subsequent lessons. It is recommended that teachers make greater use of technological instructional media, such as interactive Moodle-based platforms.
