Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada Mata Kuliah Kimia Dasar melalui Implementasi Lesson Study. Sampel yang digunakan adalah satu kelas dengan melibatkan mahasiswa dari empat program studi yaitu program studi Pendidikan Kimia, Pendidikan Biologi, Pendidikan Fisika dan Pendidikan Matematika. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus, dan setiap siklus terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu tahap perencanaan (plan), Tahap pelaksanaan (do) dan tahap refleksi (see). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan tes. Untuk mengukur keterampilan proses sains dilakukan dengan tiga tahapan yaitu keterampilan pokok uji, penyusunan pokok uji dan pemberian skor pokok uji keterampilan proses sains. Untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir mahasiswa digunakan instrumen dengan melibatkan enam indikator, yaitu kemampuan bertanya, kemampuan menjawab pertanyaan, kemampuan menerapkan konsep dengan baik, kemampuan menganalisa, kemampuan memberikan penjelasan dan membuat kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) metode demonstrasi melalui implementasi Lesson Study dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil siklus I yaitu 62,52%, meningkat menjadi 70,66% pada siklus II dan meningkat menjadi 77,45% pada siklus III. (2) metode demonstrasi melalui implementasi Lesson Study dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil siklus I yaitu 56,74%, meningkat menjadi 63,78% pada siklus II dan meningkat menjadi 75,7% pada siklus III. Kata kunci: keterampilan proses sains, berpikir kritis, metode demonstrasi, lesson study

Abstract

Abstract.  The galam forest is a typical forest in South Kalimantan which is capable of growing on peat land. Generally, galam leaves are used as an herbal medicine and the fruits are used as a substitute for pepper as well as herbs additional material. Galam potential that can be used as herbs underlying the research done on phytochemical screening analysis, antioxidant activity and the fenol-flavonoid total level. Analysis was done to leaves and fruit ethanol extract of a galam plant. Compounds of secondary metabolite of alkaloid, polyphenol, quinone, flavonoid and saponin were found in galam leaves ethanol extract. Fruit ethanol extract contained compounds of  the polyphenol, quinone, flavonoid and saponin.  The total concentration of phenol from galam leaves and fruit ethanol extract were defined by using Folin-Ciocalteu method and the results were each 18,3615 ppm and 40,2926 ppm while the total of phenol level were as much as 16,52535 mg GAE/mg of extract and 36,26334 mg GAE/mg of extract . The total concentration of flavonoid was specified by using the method of AlCl3 and the values were 0,1146 ppm and 0,0076 ppm . The total levels of leaves and fruit extract flavonoid were as much as 0,3438 mg QE/g of extract and 0,0228 mg QE/g of extract. Antioxidant activity was specified by using DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2- picrylhidrazyl) method with ascorbic acid as the comparison compounds. Antioxidant testing result showed that the values of leaves ethanol extract IC50 were 54,4906 ppm and 37,3752 ppm, while ascorbic acid was 9,887 ppm .

Abstract. This research aimed to knowing the difference of Think Pair Share (TPS) and Talking Stick learning model to learning outcomes, knowing the difference of learning style (visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic) to the learning outcomes, knowing the interaction between the learning model and the learning style. This research was used a quasi experimental research with 2 x 3 factorial design. Sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were used tests and questionnaires. The results showed that there was no difference of Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model and Talking Stick learning on learning outcomes, there were no learning style differences (visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic) to learning outcomes, and there were no the interaction between the learning model and the learning style.Keywords: The Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model, The Talking Stick learning model, learning style, learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract. The activity of students of class X MIPA 6 of SMAN 7 Banjarmasin on the learning of the Fungi concept in the 2016/2017 school year is still relatively low, even though their learning outcomes are in accordance with the KKM (≥70). The teacher has implemented various ways to increase student activity. Student activities will affect student learning outcomes. Classroom Action Reseach (CAR) as an effort to improve the quality of teaching and the learning in classroom also indirectly plays an important role in improving the quality of education. This research aimed to improve student activity and learning outcomes, as well as describe the responses of students in class X MIPA 6 of SMAN 7 Banjarmasin in the academic year 2017/2018 on the learning of the Fungi concept through the implementation of a combination of PBL and NHT learning models. Research subjects were 34 students with 14 male students and 20 female students. This research was carried out in 2 cycles with 2 meetings per cycle. This results indicated that student activities that were observed increased from cycle-I (83.5) to cycle-II (89). Cognitive learning outcomes of students assessed through posttest increased from cycle-I (80%) to cycle-II (92%). The learning outcomes of the process were assessed through LKPD, questions and answers about NHT, and the product increased from cycle-I (72.08) to cycle-II (82.70). Affective learning outcomes: 1) character behavior were observed increased from cycle-I (77.74) to cycle-II (92.64), 2) social behavior were observed increased from cycle-I (71.88) to cycle-II (91.84). Psychomotor learning outcomes were observed increased from cycle-I (74.66) to cycle-II (86.03). The response of students to these models showed a positive response (98%). The implementation of a combination of PBL and NHT learning models can improve student activity and learning outcomes on the concept of Fungi.

Abstract

Bahan ajar yang disediakan Kemdikbud pada kurikulum 2013 berupa buku guru dan buku siswa. Khusus buku siswa menjabarkan usaha minimal siswa yang harus dilakukan untuk mencapai kompetensi yang diharapkan seperti melatihkan keterampilan proses sains. Peneliti melakukan telaah materi kurikulum didapatkan bahwa pada materi klasifikasi zat/benda cocok untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains. Peneliti melakukan penelitian pendahuluan kepada guru IPA SMPN 24 Banjarmasin pada tahun sebelumnya didapatkan bahwa lemahnya keterampilan proses sains siswa. Sehingga muncul gagasan dari peneliti untuk melakukan inovasi bahan ajar berbantuan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) dalam upaya meningkatkan aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa dan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi pokok klasifikasi zat/benda.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) aktivitas guru dan siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin saat pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS (2) peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin dengan pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan  LKS dan (3) persepsi siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS materi pokok klasifikasi zat/benda.     Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian PTK yakni mendeskripsikan upaya meningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa dengan menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran materi pokok  klasifikasi zat/. Subyek penelitian adalah kelas 7 E  sebanyak 36 orang yang terdiri atas 20 orang siswa laki-laki dan 16 orang siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 tepatnya bulan Agustus sampai dengan Oktober 2018.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus, siklus I dilaksanakan 3 kali pertemuan (2 x 40’) dan siklus II dilaksanakan 3 kali pertemuan (2 x 40’).Selama perlakuan siswa diamati oleh 2 orang observer dilengkapi dengan lembar observasi. Setelah perlakuan dilakukan test untuk mengetahui keterampilan proses sains siswa dan dilanjutkan dengan pembagian angket siswa untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran;(1)Aktivitas guru dan siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin dengan pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran materi klasifikasi zat /benda terjadi peningkatan dari siklus 1 (59,72%) kategori cukup ke siklus II (93,33%) ke kategori baik. (2) Peningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin dengan pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran materi klasifikasi zat /benda  dari siklus 1 (57,23 %)  kategori cukup terampil ke siklus II (81,11%) kategori terampil.(3) Persepsi siswa kelas 7E SMPN 24 Banjarmasin dengan pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar berbantuan LKS dan video pembelajaran materi klasifikasi zat /benda memiliki predikat baik (88,88%).

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine significant differences betweenv TTW and TPS learning model on stoichiometric problem solving ability; (ii) the influence of mathematical ability on the capability to solve stoichiometric problems; (iii) the interaction between the learning model and the mathematical ability of stoichiometric problem-solving capability. This research is experimental research with the 2x2 factorial design. The population in this study is students of class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Manokwari and sample is students of class X MIA 1 consisting 30 students and X MIA 2 consisting 28 students. The data in the analysis use two way analysis of variance. The conclusions of this study were (i) there was no significant difference in the capability of students to solve stoichiometric problems using TTW and TPS models; (ii) there was a significant difference in the capability to solve stoichiometric problems among learners who have high mathematical skills with low mathematical skills; (iii) there was no interaction between instructional model and mathematical ability to solve stoichiometric problem.Keywords: cooperative learning model type TPS, cooperative learning model type TTW, Mathematical ability

Abstract

Enzim merupakan biokatalis untuk berbagai macam reaksi dan mengontrol semua proses metabolisme yang berlangsung pada tubuh manusia mulai dari hal sederhana seperti mengatur pencernaan sampai ke tingkat yang lebih komplek seperti pengaturan sistem kekebalan tubuh manusia. Ketiadaan enzim dapat menyebabkan keseimbangan proses metabolisme tubuh terganggu. Beberapa penelitian terbaru mengenai enzim telah mempelajari kemungkinan enzim untuk dapat mengatasi penyakit jantung , ganggunan pencernaan dan juga kanker. Namun demikian hanya sedikit informasi mengenai enzim-enzim yang telah digunakan untuk mengatasi berbagai jenis penyakit. Karena itu pada review ini akan dibahas jenis-jenis enzim dengan aplikasinya di bidang kesehatan.

Abstract

Abstrak. Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang keterlaksanaan model SCT untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy mahasiswa calon guru kimia padamateri koloid. Sintaks model SCT adalah 1) Orientasi mahasiswa; 2) Aktivitas ilmiah; 3) Presentasi hasil aktivitas ilmiah; 4) Penyelesaian tugas berpikir kirits; 5) Evaluasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan untuk mengetahui kepraktisan dan keefektifan dari prototipe model SCT dalam pembelajaran materi Koloid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan model SCT menunjukkan kategori sangat baik (85,84,%), aktivitas mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran menunjukkan kategori sangat aktif (85,29%), terdapat peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis (rerata N-gain = 0,87/tinggi) dan self efficacy mahasiswa calon guru kimia (rerata N-gain = 0,78/tinggi). Dengan demikian model SCT sudah memenuhi syarat kepraktisan dan keefektifan sebagai prototipe sebuah model.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aimed  to acknowledge the existence of different misconceptions from students who are in other types of school on electric circuit matters. It is based on researcher’s effort in finding the cause of students’ misconception. This research was an experiment research with data collecting technique of online questionnaire. The sample was students at the age of 16-17 from public school, vocational school, and religious school, taken from population of all students from all those three types of school. Instrument used in this research was multiple choice questions about electric circuit developed by EPSE as many as 20 items. Data analysis technique was done by using Cross Tabulation in SPSS to see the difference of answers given by students based on school type. The result showed that religious school students get the highest misconception (100%) in an item about reading an ammeter in series circuit, public school students get 96.2% misconception in explaining the relationship between electric current and resistance in series circuit, and vocational school students get 86.4% misconception about electric voltage in parallel circuit. From the result, it can be seen that misconceptions owned by students from each type of school are different according to the method used in learning electric circuit in the school.
