Abstract

Background: Badminton is a game of small ball that requires a good cardiovascular endurance especially on single game. Ones training to improve cardiovascular endurance (VO2max) are high intensity interval training (HIIT), HIIT is able to overcome the problem of the lack of time if the athlete is given a cardio workout because basically the method of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) does not take a long time in one training session. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of the High Intensity Interval Training methods to increase VO2max and Speed Movement. Method: This study is experimental research with the design of randomized pretest-posttest control group design, which is held in GOR Yowana Mandala Tembawu in April to May 2016. The sample was male student at SMP PGRI 2 Denpasar, who are Badminton extracurricular participants amounting to 24 students, in which divided into two groups. Both groups were given different training for 6 weeks with a frequency of exercise four times a week. Group 1 was given training jogging for 15 minutes and the group 2 was given HIIT training for 15 minutes. VO2max measured with Multistage Fitness Test (MFT) and the velocity will be measured by the 50 meter sprint tests. Result: The results showed the average test results in Group 1 before and after training VO2max values obtained respectively 34.13 ml/kg/min and 34.84 ml/kg/min and Speed Motion respectively 8.40 and 8.26 seconds seconds, while in Group 2 VO2max values obtained respectively 33.71 ml/kg/min and 40.12 ml/kg/min, while for each Motion Speed obtained 8.40 seconds and 7.41 seconds. Test results of different test with T-Independent inter group and intra-group T-Paired before and after training, Group 1 and Group 2 result p = 0.00 this indicates that p is less than 0.05 means that each training is different, significant and increasing. Conclusion: It can be concluded that High Intensity Interval Training Methods for 15 minutes improves VO2max and Speed Movement. HIIT training suggested a more intensified in the process of badminton training. Suggestions: Suggestions for further research in order to monitor physical activity, nutrition and sleep patterns of samples which will also affect the results.

Abstract

Endurance cardiorespiratory is an ability of someone to exercises longer without anyfatigue. Endurance cardiorespiratory was influenced by the heart endurance, muscleendurance and respiratory function. In the elderly due to an oxidative stress, the conditionwhere free radicals is much more than anti oxidant in our body. It will produce oxidative damage of cell/tissue leads to aging and death.Thepurpose of the study is to determinedifferences in the increased in VO2 max, decreased heart rate and increased maximalinspiration between the moderate intesity walking and moderate intensity stationerybicycle.This study is clinical experimental studyusing methods pre test and post test groupdesign. Sixteen subjects of elderly people devided in to two groups. The first group of 8subjects gived the moderate intesity walking for 30 minutes exercise, 3 times a week. Thesecond group of 8 subjects givedthe moderate intesity stationery bicycle for 30 minutesexercise, 3 times a week. total peroid of exercise was 8 weeks. VO2 max measure a using the6 walking minute test, resting heart rate test using a stopwatch and maximal inspiration usingincentive spirometry manual. Results of this study: the mean value Vo2 max afterintervention ofgroup I was 20.82 ml/kg/min and group II was 20.62 ml/kg/minthe differentmean between two groups was 0.2 ml / kg / min and showed no significant difference (p =0.43). The mean value resting heart rate after intervetion of group I was 66 beats/min andgroup II was 66.62 beats/min the different between the two groups was 0.62 beats / minuteand showed no significant difference (p = 0.702), The mean value maximum inspiration afterintervention of group I was 1937.5 ml and group II was 1912,5 ml the different meanbetween two groups was25 ml and showed no significant difference (p = 0.480). It wasconcluded thatthere were nodifferences between moderate intesity walking and moderateintensity stationery bicycle on the increase VO2 max, decrease heart rate, and increasemaximum inspiration in the elderly.

Abstract

The patterns of women’s daily working, shift from dynamic to static state due to the influence of technology that makes the daily work more effectively and efficiently, which constantly lowering physical fitness. Aerobic exercise is a physical activity that can increase women’s physical fitness, these include Ayo Bergerak, Bugar Indonesia and Ayo Bersatu Gymnastic Exercise.This study was aimed to determine which gymnasticic exercise is more effective to improving physical fitness. This study is a randomized experimental design with Pre and Post Test Control Group Design on 30 women aged 30-40 years with a poor of physical fitness, divided into 3 groups randomly which Group I was given training of Ayo Bergerak Gymnastic Exercise, Group II with Bugar Indonesia Gymnastic Exercise and group III with Ayo Bersatu Gymnastic Exercise, 3 times perweeks during 10 weeks. The value of physical fitness was measured using the Kasch Step Test method, calculated the recovery heart rate (RHR) after step test, with assuming that the recovery heart rate decreased after training, which indicates increased physical fitness. The Shapiro - Wilk test and Levene test obtained p > 0.05, indicating the overall sample homogeneity qualify. Paired sample t-test and statistical ANOVA-test obtained p < 0.05 indicates that the three exercise are effectively improved physical fitness. And effectiveness test after training by using independent t- test showed Ayo Bergerak and Bugar Indonesia Gymnastic Exercise are the most highly improved physical fitness. For women who want to improve their physical fitness can choose both of the exercise.

Abstract

Background: Q-angle is the angle between the quadriceps and patellar tendon and showing the angle of the quadriceps muscle tension. Pelvic widening in women does not occur in men who lead the Q-angle in women begins to enlarge during adolescence than men. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the addition of kinesiology tape on CKC training and stretching without additional kinesiology tape on CKC training and stretching in women. Methods: This research was a randomized experimental design with pre-test and post-test group design. The sample contain by 24 people divided into two groups of 12 people each. Treatment group with the addition of kinesiology tape on CKC training and stretching, while the control group only CKC training and stretching. This research was conducted for 8 weeks, 2 times in a week. The data collected by the Q-angle measured using a goniometer at the time before and after treatment. Result: The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, Q-angle was obtained with p = 0.002 for the different treatment groups with an average of 12.25 and in control group acquired Q-angle, with p = 0.002 with 6.416 average difference, and different 47.59% with treatment group. Mann-Whitney test results the average of difference of decreasing of treatment group is 18.5 and the average of difference of control group is 6.5 different 64.86% with treatment group, showed that there were significant differences in the decrease in Q-angle between the two groups with the result p = 0.001 (p <0.05). Conclusion: Conclusions of research are: the addition of kinesiology tape on the training of Closed Kinetic Chain (CKC) and stretching better in reducing excessive Q-angle in women. Suggestion: For the next research suggest to add dependent variables as: muscle strength, functional and speed of muscle contraction of Vastus Medial Oblique (VMO), individual addressing treatment, and use x-ray as measurement tool.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Penurunan fungsi paru merupakan masalah besar pada pasien pascaoperasi jantung. Berbagai teknik latihan napas telah dikembangkan fisioterapi di antaranya deep breathing exercie (DBE), namun teknik ini tidak memberikan informasi volume inspirasi saat latihan. Untuk mengatasi kelemahan latihan DBE maka ditambahkanlah program incentive spirometry.Tujuan penelitian untuk membuktikan penambahan latihan IS pada DBE lebih baik dalam meningkatkan FVC dan FEV1 pada pasien pascaoperasi jantung dibanding hanya DBE. Material dan metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan eksperimental dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design. Jumlah sampel penelitian 22 orang dan terbagi ke dalam dua kelompok. Kelompok Perlakuan 1 (KP1) mendapat perlakuan DBE, sedangkan Kelompok Perlakuan 2 (KP2) mendapat perlakuan IS dan DBE. Pengukuran FVC dan FEV1 menggunakan spirometri. Masing-masing kelompok mendapat perlakuan sehari setelah pascaoperasi sampai pasien pulang rawat inap. Hasil penelitian: Dari program DBE pada KP1 terjadi peningkatan FVC dengan nilai rerata pre test 1,33±0,41 liter dan post test 1,74±0,36 lite, dimana p<0,05, demikian juga terdapat peningkatan FEV1 dengan nilai rerata pretest 1,09±0,36 liter dan Posttest 1,46±0,49 liter, dengan p<0,05. Sementara program DBE dan IS pada KP2 terjadi peningkatan FVC dengan nilai rerata pre test 1,12±0,39 liter dan post test 1,84±0,54 liter, dengan nilai p<0,05. Demikian juga terjadi peningkatan rerata FEV1 pre test 1,01±0,40 liter dan post test 1,56±0,52 liter, dengan nilai p<0,05. Perbedaan peningkatan FVC intervensi DBE pada KP1 dan IS+DBE pada KP2 1,74±049 liter dan 1,82±0,54 liter dengan nilai p>0,05. Rerata FEV1 setelah intervensi DBE pada KP1 1,46±0,49 liter, dan setelah intervensi DBE dan IS pada KP2 1,56±0,52 liter, dengan p>0,05. Perbedaan selisih peningkatan FVC pada tambahan IS + DBE dan DBE 0,7 liter dan 0,55 liter dan FEV1 0,41 liter dan 0,37 liter. Simpulan: Disimpulkan bahwa latihan antara IS+DBE dan DBE pada pasien pascaoperasi jantung sama-sama dapat meningkatkan FVC dan FEV1 secara bermakna, secara statistik selisih peningkatan FVC dan FEV1 antara IS+DBE dibanding DBE tidak bermakna.

Abstract

Kebugaran kardiorespiratori adalah sebuah penentu kuat morbiditas dan mortalitas. Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk mengamati pengaruh dari latihan interval intensitas tinggi (HIIT) pada tekanan darah dan denyut jantung pada kondisi istirahat pada dewasa muda normotensif. Desain studi adalah pretestposttest experimental design. Subyek penelitian adalah 10 orang dewasa muda. Subyek melakukan HIIT sebanyak 6 siklus (tiap siklus terdiri dari 2 menit latihan intensitas tinggi 80-90% reserve heart ratedan 1 menit latihan intensitas sedang 50-60% reserve heart rate). Tiap latihan, subyek melakukan pemanasan selama 3 menit, diikuti sesi HIIT, dan diakhiri dengan latihan pendinginan selama 3 menit. Subyek melakukan sesi latihan selama 3x seminggu selama 4 minggu dengan ergocycle. Data pretest diambil 3 hari sebelum sesi latihan dimulai dan data posttest 3 hari sesudah sesi latihan berakhir. Data dianalisis dengan SPSS menggunakan paired t-test. Hasil signifikan didapatkan pada tekanan darah sistol istirahat (p= 0,020). Tekanan darah diastol dan denyut nadi istirahat didapatkan tidak signifikan (p=0,470 and p=0,185). Kesimpulan, HIIT selama 4 minggu mampu menurunkan tekanan darah sistol istirahat tetapi tidak memiliki efek pada tekanan darah diastol dan denyut nadi istirahat pada dewasa muda sehat normotensif.

Abstract

Elderly is an advanced stage process that decreases the ability and function of the body. One of the declines that occur in the elderly is the musculoskeletal system in which it is very influential on balance. Square stepping exercise is one type of exercise that can be used in addition to increasing the strength of the musculoskeletal system, this exercise is also able to improve the visual ability. By increasing the ability of the musculoskeletal system, coupled with the visual ability is expected to improve balance in the elderly and reduce the risk of falling. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of Square stepping exercise on increasing the dynamic balance of elderly.This experimental study used a pre test and post test design. The sampling was done at Panti Wreda Sejahtera Denpasar. Elderly as many as 27 people who fit the criteria serve as a sample. The dynamic balance is evaluated by using the Time Up and Go test (TUG test) before and after the exercise. This study was conducted 3x a week for 4 weeks.Effect analysis test using Paired Sample test obtained p value = 0.001 with a balance increase of 27.92%. The conclusion of research that Giving Square Stepping Exercise can improve dynamic balance in elderly.Keywords: Elderly, Square Stepping Exercixe, Balance

Abstract

Background: Myofascial Pain Upper trapezius muscle syndrome is a condition of both acute and chronic pain from muscle or fascia involving sensory, motoric, or autonomic functions. Myofascial pain can be local or regional, such as the neck, shoulders, usually unilateral or more severe in one side. Objective: To prove Ultrasound and Muscle Energy Technique Interventions to reduce neck disability more than Ultrasound and Myofascial Release Technique Interventions in the case of Myofascial Pain Syndrome Upper Trapezius muscle in Denpasar. Method: This study uses the Randomized Pre-test method and the Design Group Post Test Control. This study used 36 subjects divided into 2 groups, First Treatment Group with Ultrasound and Muscle Energy Technique and II Treatment Group with Ultrasound and Myofascial Release Technique. The two treatment groups were given treatment for 4 weeks. The measuring instrument used for neck disability is the Neck Disability Index (NDI). Results: The results of the independent t-test which showed the results of the calculation of the difference in mean neck disability obtained p = 0.372 (p> 0.05). Conclusion: Ultrasound intervention and muscle energy technique further reduced neck disability than an ultrasound intervention and myofascial release technique in the case of myofascial pain syndrome upper trapezius muscleKeywords: Myofascial Pain Syndrome, upper trapezius muscle, Ultrasound, muscle energy technique, myofascial release technique, Neck Disability Index.

Abstract

Latihan fisik dapat menyebabkan berbagai perubahan fungsi tubuh diantaranya adalah peningkatan terhadap suhu tubuh. Peningkatan suhu tubuh ini disebabkan karena sebagian besar energi saat aktivitas diubah menjadi panas. Panas yang dihasilkan itu harus segera dikeluarkan agar homeostasis tubuh berjalan dengan baik. Kecepatan pengeluaran panas tubuh tergantung dari faktor lingkungan, diantaranya adalah suhu dan kelembaban relatif udara. Semakin meningkat kelembaban udara, semakin meningkat pula suhu tubuh saat latihan dan sebaliknya semakin menurun kelembaban relatif udara maka suhu tubuh akan semakin menurun. Perubahan suhu tubuh ini tidak terus menurun, akan tetapi diatur oleh sistem saraf. Peningkatan panas tubuh berkelanjutan dapat disebabkan karena latihan fisik berkelanpanjangan dalam waktu yang lama yang dilakukan dalam ruangan dengan kelembaban yang tinggi. Peningkatan sehu tubuh ini dapat disebabkan karena menurunnya cairan tubuh akibat dari pengeluaran keringat berlebih. Untuk menanggulangi penurunan cairan tubuh maka perlu mengkonsumsi cairan yang sesuai dengan cairan yang keluar. Artikel ini ditulis dengan tujuan untuk menguraikan efek dari latihan fisik terhadap perubahan suhu tubuh.

Abstract

Diabetic ulcers are one of the most severe complications of diabetes in people with diabetes mellitus. When examined through the International Classification of Function (ICF) approach, there are several problems associated with diabetic ulcers, including: the presence of pain, limited movement, open wounds, loss of sensory sensation or motor ability. There are some modalities can be used to help these problems, namely by using laser and therapeutic approaches such as the application of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). The method of this paper is an article review by using secondary data taken from research journals which are related to the effectiveness of the use of low power laser therapy and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation in diabetic ulcer patients. The primary effect of laser usage on cell is increasing oxidative metabolism to produce more ATP, which ultimately leads to the normalization of cell function, pain relief, and wound healing. PNF is a method of enhancing neuromuscular movement and facilitation to facilitate muscle contraction. This method has the primary goal of achieving individual needs, and thus can perform functional movements, through facilitation, inhibition, strengthening and relaxation of muscle groups. Based on the literature review, it can be concluded that: (1) Low power laser therapy is effective in repairing wounds in patients with grade 2 diabetic ulcers, (2) Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is effective in improving sensory and motor neuronal conduction associated with ankle movement in grade 2 diabetic ulcers, and (3) The combination of low power laser therapy and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation is effective in improving the limitations of motion and function of grade 2 diabetic ulcers.
