Abstract

Interface design of e-learning sometimes people see only as a choice, not the main point. But, the basic thing about interface is it the main tool that have function to give user direction about how is using e-learning because it covers all element in e-learning. Usability is the tool that can measure the effective interaction between user and interface to achieve specific purpose. Questionnaire is a tool that practical, efficient and the most using tool to evaluate the usability. But, there is not yet a specific questionnaire in Indonesia that can evaluate usability of e-learning in general. The purpose of this study is to develop a measuring tool which is questionnaire that can capture usability problems in e-learning, know the usability questions attributes that become themost influence on the evaluation of the usability case studies in e-learning, and evaluate the problem of usability in the case study with the questionnaires which have been developed. The object of this study is an e-learning developed by the University of Gadjah Mada, namely eLisa, Synthesis (Faculty of Economics and Business), Gamel (Faculty of Medicine), and Papyrus (Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology). A sample of 317 respondents.The results of this study are valid and reliable questionnaire, and obtained 14 usability dimensions with 56 variables question from factor analysis result. This questionnaire has the consistency and relevance with the problems that reflected in open-ended questions, covered views from the mean value of merit usability. The comparison of four e-learning is a consistent ratings between the average value of variable merit 56 questions on the contents of the variable 5 questions in the concluding section. The result of comparisons with other questionnaires showed that the questionnaire is more effective because it can cover 73.21% of the existing problems in a more specific eLisa and evaluate a problem of usability. This research can still be developed and refined from research object of e-learning are more general by a combination of respondents from several countries to prove the relationship of user characteristics in terms of preference, culture, and language affect the evaluation of each individual to the usabiltity of e-elarning.

Abstract

Ergonomics problems experienced by workers at quality control and screen printing department at Adhi Fashion garment industry are the use of muscle power, work posture, and work time that still not in accordance to ergonomic principle. The workers carry out static and monotonous work for a long time and got 60 minutes pause per day for 6 working days. They were observed often take disguised pause while doing their jobs. They had musculoskeletal disorder with moderate to high scale complaints and low to moderate workload. There are exercises they can do by applicating of dynamic stretching exercise and active rest that can affect whole body muscles as an efforts to improve work posture and minimize taking of disguised pause. This study used treatment by subject design. The number of samples were 13 respondents consist of 8 workers from the quality control and 5 workers from the screen printing. At Period 1 the subject was working without intervention and Period 2 was working with intervention by applicating dynamic stretching exercise and active rest. The musculoskeletal disorder measured by the Nordic Body Map on Period 1 and Period 2. The normality of the data are tested using the Shapiro-Wilk Test. The intervention effect are tested using Paired-Sample T Test and Wilcoxon Sigend-Rank Test. Dynamic stretching exercise and active rest significantly affected to musculoskeletal complaints (p<0.05). There were reduction of musculoskeletal disorder (7.72%). Dynamic stretching exercise and active rest reduced of musculoskeletal disorder of workers at the quality control and screen printing in Adhi Fashion garment industry.

Abstract

The choice of sports uniforms should be tailored to the sports activities undertaken. For that reason, the selection of uniforms should be comfortable to use, absorb sweat, and have a circulation between clothing and skin, fit uniform size and at affordable price. The study was conducted to examine the measured application of ergonomic applications on sports uniforms that can make comfort in exercising found on junior high school students. The design of the study used pretest-posttest control group design involving 2 groups of subjects namely the Control Group and the Treatment Group of respectively 12 samples. The research was conducted at Kesuma Sari Junior High School, Sesetan, Denpasar, Bali. The measured data were age, height, body weight, ambient temperature, dress comfort questionnaire, skin temperature response and pulse recovery response. The findings of descriptive analysis showed significant differences (p <0.05) on the variables of comfort and surface temperature of the skin, no significant difference (p> 0.05) on the variable of pulse recovery. The mean value of the difference of comfort before and after exercising in the Control Group decreased by (-4.17 ± 4.668) and in the Treatment Group increased by (2.50 ± 3.477). The mean value of the skin temperature difference before and after exercising in the Control Group increased the temperature by (0.57 ° C ± 0.64) and in the Treatment Group there was a temperature increase of (0.01 ° C ± 0.65). The Mean decrease in the pulse recovery in the Control (107.03 ± 15.18) and the Treatment Groups (106.93 ± 16.37) was not much different so there is no influence between the two. It can be concluded that the ergonomic application of sport uniforms increased the comfort of exercise in the junior high school students of Kesuma sari, the ergonomics application of sport uniform may improve the skin temperature response in exercise on the junior high school students of Kesuma Sari, and the ergonomic application of sport uniform had no effect on the pulse recovery response in exercising on the students SMP Kesuma Sari.

Abstract

Many routine activities undertaken in the household are repeated every day throughout the year so can potentially cause health problems if not applied theprinciples of ergonomics. From the survey and measurement of domestic workers in several places in Denpasar, we found that the most complained was the process of ironing so it’s a priority to look for a solution. That complaints arise because the process of ironing is in static and monotony position. In addressing this issue , we need a change in attitude of working so that static work posture can be avoided. The use of specially designed chairs can make workers to work with a dynamic working attitude that is alternating sitting-standing posture. This experimental study using teatment by subject design with two periodeintervension  that sitting posture  and alternating sitting-standing  posture. The number of samples studied were 9 people using simple random  sampling technique. The study was conducted in a place that has been designed such as a simulation. Data collection was conducted over three days to sitting posture and three days to alternating sitting-standing posture at 8:00 to 17:00 pm divided into three sessions. In the assessment of workload showed a decrease of 19.72 % working pulse and the reduction of %CVL was 19.80%. Musculoskeletal complaints fell by 13.15%. Pain in the waist and buttocks most complained at work sitting posture (waist 37.04%; buttocks 33.33% ). For fatigue assessment using Bourdon Wiersma Questionnaires obtained 11.79% increase in speed, 42.68% in accuracy, and 13.21% in constancy. There was an increase in productivity by 38.46%, which is associated with reduced workload and duration of work. After statistical tests, obtained all the change that occur significant (p<0.05). Working-time graph showed that workers could work for eight hours continuously. It can be concluded that alternating sitting-standing posture can reduce workload, fatigue,  and musculoskeletal complaints, as well as increase productivity iron women in the household. The results of this research can be used to improve the quality of life of the worker in household.

Abstract

One of the manual matrial handling jobs is the derivative work from the top of the truck. In working the workers use a tool that enggrong which is a short-handed shovel. Due to the use of employee enggrong work with stooped posture. This work posture raises the potential for low back pain in workers. This study is a cross sectional study with a sample of 9 participants. The purpose of research is to find potential risks of low back pain based on angle trunk when workers work sent down the sand by enggrong. Angle trunk which is predicted covering: 1 angle trunk flexion, 2) angle trunk bending, and 3) angle trunk twisting. Work posture data was taken using Microsoft KinectTM 3D camera and analyzed by using Siemen Jack 3D Static Strength Prediction Program (3DSSPP) software to predict angle trunk. The result of the analysis of the 6 work postures showed that worker's frequently employed posture had the average angle trunk flexion of 61.10 ± 10.090, angle trunk bending of 19.80 ± 6.740 and angle trunk twisting of 20.00 ± 9.030. The average angle trunk flexion at 87.28% of maximal angle is a major cause risk low back pain. So that it can be summed up the potential for low back pain on sand workers. Intervention ergonomics need to prevent and reduce potential risks happened low back pain on sand workers.
