Abstract

Permasalahan ergonomi di industri bengkel bagian pengamplasan berupa sikap kerjayang tidak alamaiah dan alat kerja yang tidak ergonomis sehingga menimbulkan nyeri musculoskeletal pada pekerja pengamplas. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, dilakukan penelitian dengan redesain alat kerja pengamplas dan pemberian hand stretching. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggunaan redesain alat kerja pengamplas dan pemberian hand stretching pada pekerja pengamplas cat motor terhadap penurunan beban kerja, nyeri pada musculoskeletal dan produktivitas. Rancangan penelitian adalah rancangan sama subjek dengan melibatkan 12 orang pekerja pengamplas cat motor, laki-laki dengan usia 22-37 tahun, pengalaman kerja antara 2-6 tahun. subjek diberi perlakuan kerja dengan alat kerja pengamplas tanpa redesain dan tanpa pemberian hand stretching. Tahap kedua (II) subjek diberi perlakuan kerja dengan redesain alat kerja pengamplas dan pemberian hand stretching. Di antara ke dua tahap penelitian tersebut, diberikan wash out period selama 2 hari dan adaptasi redesain alat kerja pengamplas selama 4 hari, untuk menghilangkan carry over effects. Beban kerja diukur dari denyut nadi dengan metode 10 denyut, nyeri muskuloskeletal diukur dengan Visual Analogue Scale (skala 0 sampai 10) dan produktivitas kerja berdasarkan perbandingan antara output dan input. Data dianalisis dengan uji Shapiro-Wilk untuk mengetahui normalitas data, uji t-paired untuk menguji perbedaan kemaknaan variabel beban kerja dan produktivitas kerja pada tingkat kemaknaan ?=0,05 serta uji Wilcoxon untuk variabel keluhan Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa redesain alat kerja pengamplas dan hand stretching dapat menurunkan beban kerja sebesar 8,4% (p<0,05) dan menurunkan nyeri muskuloskeletal sebesar 53,8% (p<0,05) serta meningkatkan produktivitas kerja sebesar 63,2% (p<0,05). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa redesain alat kerja pengamplas dan hand stretching dapat mengurangi beban dan nyeri musculoskeletal meningkatkan produktivitas pekerja pengamplas cat motor. Disarankan kepada pemilik industri usaha sejenis agar melakukan perbaikan kondisi kerja yang mengacu pada prinsip ergonomi, sehingga tercipta kondisi kerja yang lebih aman, nyaman, sehat dan produktif bagi pekerja.

Abstract

The La Tansa bakery industry is a formal industrial sector that makes bread, some process activities are still repeated manually. This condition will cause the prevalence of MSD complaints because the worker's body position is bent. The purpose of this study was to assess the level of risk of injury using the Quick Exposure Check (QEC) questionnaire and to assess complaints about the impact of this awkward posture using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. This type of research was descriptively carried out at the Latansa Bread Factory, Gontor Ponorogo in May 2020 with a total of 9 respondents. The research results will be analyzed using the Excel program. Based on the results of research on the distribution of questionnaires conducted by researchers and the workers themselves, it shows that the level of risk of injury to 7 out of 9 workers is at the level of 72.8% - 82.7%, which means that research and changes must be carried out as soon as possible. The results of MSD's complaint assessment among workers showed that all were categorized as having moderate complaints. The advice given to the Latansa Bread Factory is to design a chair and table for workers so as to minimize the risk of injury and create effective, safe, comfortable and efficient working condition.

Abstract

Less ergonomic computer working condition may cause a variety of complaints among computer operators. The complaint arises due to inappropriate of work load and capacity. Less ergonomic working conditions increase muscle tension of several muscles based on surface electromyography, work load, and subjective complaints based on musculoskeletal complaints, fatigue, and eyestrain. The objective of this study was to analyze improvement of the working conditions based on total ergonomic reduce the electrical activity of muscles, work load, musculoskeletal complaints, fatigue, and eyestrain. The true experimental study has been conducted with treatment by subject design among design workers of CV. Massa Denpasar with a total 15 subjects. Some data including muscle tension, work load, musculoskeletal complaints, and fatigue were measured when working in conventional working conditions (first Period) and when working with treated working conditions based on total ergonomic (second Period). Data were analyzed by paired samples t test and Wilcoxon signed ranks test. This study revealed that a decreased of work load was 4,89%, musculoskeletal complaints were 15,45%, fatigue was 33,53%, and eyestrain was 14,32% and productivity was 44,07% (p<0.05). The results showed that the improvement of computer working conditions based on total ergonomic decreased muscle tension, work load, musculoskeletal complaints, fatigue, and eyestrain. Concluded that the improvement of working conditions based computer ergonomics can reduce the total workload is seen from the decrease in pulse work, as well as lowing the musculoskeletal complaints and fatigue are seen from the increase in productivity, suggested that improvements in working conditions is used as a model computer in designing computer working conditions for the achievement of healthy working conditions, safe, convenient, effective, efficient, and productive with the hope that achieved the highest welfare

Abstract

Practice of turning is done in a standing posture. During the process of turning benches are not provided for sitting. In turning Practice sometimes also requires bending forward working posture to look more carefully or repair existing equipment. Besides, the lack of site lighting on the lathe machine can reduce accuracy level of students in reading measurement scale. This leads to disorder on musculoskeletal system and eye strain; therefore it is necessary to apply ergonomics in terms of improvement in working posture and the addition of site lighting.The research was carried out experimentally using treatment by subject design; the study sample included 15 people. Subjects obtained the two treatments, period I the turning used the old way. Period II used a new way of ergonomic interventions in the form of improvement in working posture and the addition of site lighting.The analysis showed that there was significant difference (p <0.05) on the musculoskeletal disorder, the period I with a mean score of 81.41 +1.80 and atperiod II with a mean score of 65.74 +3.08 or decreased by 19.3 %. There was significant difference in eye strain period I with a score of 31.41 +1.78 and period II with a score of 16.89 +2.32 or decreased by 46.2% and there was significant difference in the accuracy of the work, period I with a bias score of 1.29 +0.45 cm and period II with a bias score of 0.56 +0.15 cm or increased accuracy of 56.9%.It is concluded that (a) the improvement of working posture and addition of site lighting in turning process can reduce musculoskeletal disorder of students in mechanical workshop of Bali State Polytechnics, (b) the improvement of working posture and addition of site lighting turning process can reduce eye strain of students in mechanical workshop of Bali State Polytechnic, (c) the improvement of working posture and addition of site lighting in turning process can improve the accuracy of the work of students in Bali State Polytechnic mechanical workshop.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of mental workload and psychosocial factors of nurses at the executive level in in-patient rooms of a military hospital. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 41 nurses who served in the in-patient rooms. Measurement of mental workload was carried out using the National Aeronautics and Space Administration - Task-Load Index (Nasa-TLX) questionnaire. Measurement of psychosocial factors was carried out using the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ II) questionnaire. The results showed that the average value of the overall mental workload was in the high category. The value of psychosocial factors in the work environment shows good results on the majority of the rating scales. However, the hospital needed to pay attention to several factors, such as emotional demands, health perceptions, fatigue and stress and work pace. The results of this study also showed a strong and significant positive relationship between the dimensions of management's trust and performance with r=0.545(p=0.000). Thus, it is recommended that hospital management not only assess the performance of nurses, but also periodically assess mental workload and psychosocial factors in order to create a conducive work environment

Abstract

Employment in the garment industries involves a lot of human resources as workers, especially those in the sewing sector. Workers who work in the garment industry have higher possibility to suffer musculoskeletal disorders compared with those in other industries. Less ergonomic working postures is one of the factors that can affect the quality and quantity of the tailor’s work. Lack of rest time and nutrition of the workers are also additional factor for the musculoskeletal complaints and fatigue in workers that will ultimately impact to the productivity. Therefore, ergonomic intervention is needed in forms of workplace stretching exercise and giving sweet tea to overcome the condition. This research was an experimental study using treatment by subject design on 25 samples selected by simple random sampling method. Interventions given were WSE and sweet tea. Data were collected three times before and after intervention with washing out period for one day. The data collected comprised subjective fatigue using questionnaire of 30 items of fatigue, data for the musculoskeletal complaints used questionnaire of nordic body map, and also employ productivity by calculation partial productivity. Data analysis was done initially by the descriptive analysis with the significance’s level ?=0.05 and the normality data tested with Shapiro-Wilk. Subsequently, the data with normal distribution were analyzed by t-paired, while the data with abnormal distribution analyzed be Wilcoxon test. The results showed, there was decrease of musculoskeletal complaints of 24.98%, decrease of fatigue 27.06%, and increase of labor productivity 66.67% all were significant (p<0.05). Inconclusion, the ergonomic intervention with WSE and giving sweet tea can improve the physiologic response as shown decrease of fatigue and musculoskeletal complaints as well as increase of labor productivity of the tailors. It is recommended that the study results be applied by tailors working in garment industry or individually.

Abstract

Breastfeeding is a very important activity for both mother and baby. In the breastfeeding state the relationship between mother and baby will be tight and close. The old method and also duration of breastfeeding can cause fatigue, shoulder muscle tension, and soreness / stiffness in breastfeeding mothers. Problems due to absence of the use of pillow when mother breastfeed and mothers only depending on her limb to sustain baby when breastfeeding. In this case we need an ergonomic pillow to help mother feeding her baby. The purpose of this research is to investigate the use of redesigning nursing pillow can reduce fatigue, musculoskeletal complaints in breastfeeding mothers, to determine the use redesigning nursing pillow increase the motivation of mothers to breastfeed the baby as well as increase the satisfaction of nursing infants.This research held in as an experimental research draft of pre and post control group design. Samples that were included in this study was 22 people divided into two groups. The control group will breastfeeding using older model nursing pillow, while the another group will use the new redesign nursing pillow. Data analysis using t-test paried significance level of 5%.The result showed mother’s motivation after breastfeeding in both groups increased, the control group (18.27 ± 2.370) and the treatment group (15.45 ± 1.809). Baby satisfaction in the control group (11.09 ± 0.943), while the treatment group (12.27 ± 0.904). Exhausted mother’s in the control group (39.64 ± 2.803), while the treatment group (32.64 ± 1.504).Musculoskeletal disorders that mother’s felt in the control group (37.54 ± 1.694), while the treatment group (30.81 ± 2.136).Based on the study can be concluded that redesign breastfeeding pillow can giving impact to increase motivation and baby satisfaction and also decrease fatigue and musculoskeletal complain/disorder that mothers can feel. So hopefully by using this nursing pillow design maximizes mothers to breastfeed

Abstract

Penyortiran merupakan proses pemilihan buah dengan kategori buah yang baik atau layak jual dan buah yang busuk atau buah yang rusak. Proses penyortiran dilakukan dengan posisi kerja duduk jongkok dilantai. Perubahan sikap duduk tersebut akan berubah dengan waktu yang lama tepatnya ketika otot terasa tidak nyaman. Peneliti memberikan intervensi berupa pemberian william’s flexion exercise dan perbaikan stasiun kerja berupa penambahan meja kerja dan kursi untuk mengurangi terjadinya sikap kerja yang tidak alamiah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental, dengan rancangan sama subjek. Periode (I) subjek diberi perlakuan dengan kondisi kerja konvensional. Periode (II) subjek diberi perlakuan dengan intervensi berupa pemberian william’s flexion exercise dan perbaikan stasiun kerja. Perbaikan stasiun kerja berupa penambahan meja kerja dan kursi. Diantara kedua tahap tersebut, diberikan washing out period dan adaptasi. Keluhan muskuloskeletal diukur dengan kuesioner Nordic Body Map pada 5 skala likert, beban kerja dengan menghitung denyut nadi kerja pekerja dan produktivitas kerja berdasarkan perbandingan output dan input. Normalitas data diuji dengan ShapiroWilk, uji t-paired untuk menguji perbedaan kemaknaan variabel keluhan muskuloskeletal, beban kerja dan produktivitas kerja. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Perbaikan stasiun kerja dan Pemberian william’s flexion exercise berpengaruh secara signifikan (p<0,05). Terjadi penurunan muskuloskeletal sebesar 37%, penurunan beban kerja sebesar 13 %, dan peningkatan produktivitas sebesar 23%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian william’s flexion exercise dan perbaikan stasiun kerja dapat menurunkan keluhan keluhan muskuloskeletal, beban kerja dan meningkatkan produktivitas kerja pada pekerja penyortir buah tomat. Sehingga disarankan untuk diterapkan pada pemilik usaha, untuk meminimalkan keluhan akibat proses kerja menyortir.

Abstract

The culinary delights that are sold in front of the house entrance gate (angkul-angkul) are currently starting to develop rapidly in Peliatan Village, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali. The research objectives are: (1) to prove that empowerment of angkul-angkul culinary ergo-entrepreneurship oriented can improve entrepreneurial and environmental care attitudes and (2) to know how to solve ergonomic and entrepreneurial problems faced by culinary sellers. This quasi-experimental research used the same subject design. The subjects were 25 angkul-angkul culinary sellers who were randomly selected from 37 available populations. The independent variable in this study is the empowerment of angkul-angkul culinary with ergo-entrepreneurship orientation. The dependent variable is an entrepreneurial attitude and an environmental care attitude which is recorded before and after empowerment. The data obtained were analyzed using paired t test at a significance level of 5%, because the data were normally distributed. The results showed that the entrepreneurial attitude of sellers increased by 20.13% and the attitude of caring for the environment increased by 20.01% and the obstacles faced related to the empowerment of sellers were more technical and economic in nature which could be overcome through awareness programs. The conclusion is that the empowerment of angkul-angkul culinary with ergo-entrepreneurship orientation can significantly improve entrepreneurial attitudes and environmental care attitudes (p <0.05).

Abstract

Working conditions silverware in Bali still found few problems ergonomic especially processes injection cleaning. Static and monotonous working postures and inappropriate anthropometry work tools may cause musculoskeletal and boredom disturbances. The purpose of this research to prove workstation improvement and stretching in reducing boredom of work, musculoskeletal disorders and increasing productivity. The research has been conducted in silver industry at CV JPS Gianyar, with treatment by subject design toward 10 employees subjects. Period I (P0) injection cleaning process without any intervention. Period II (P1) the process of injection cleaning with work station improvement and giving stretching intervention. Work boredom, musculoskeletal complaint and work productivity the data between Period I and Period II. Analyzed with Paired Samples Test for differences of meaning between groups variable boredom of work, musculoskeletal disorders, working productivity to level of meaning ?=0,05. The result of research showed that workstation improvement and giving stretching can reduce the boredom of work Period I 118.40±4.42; Period II 108.50±4.78; decrease of 8.4%. Reduce musculoskeletal complaint Period I before work 41.90±4.72 and after work 71.70±8.42; Period II before work 37.20±3.29 and after work 56.20±4.47; decrease of 21.61%. Increase productivity Period I 0.13±0.04 and Period II 0.19±0.06; increase of 46.15%. There was a decrease in boredom, musculoskeletal complaint, and increase productivity with significan level (p<0.05). The conclusion that the workstation improvement and giving stretching can reduce boredom, musculoskeletal complaint and increase work productivity of employees injection cleaning at silver industry CV JPS. So it is suggested to apply in the silver industry to reduce boredom and complaints effect to work process.
