Abstract

The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Waste Management Site (TPS 3R) is an important facility in supportingsustainable waste management. One of them is at TPS 3R PUNGGUL Hijau, Ambiansemal District, BadungRegency, Bali Province. Previously, the waste shredder at TPS 3R Punggul Hijau Ambiansemal had aproblem where the engine capacity was not known at various engine rotation speeds and there was astagnation. For that, it is necessary to obtain a different RPM treatment capacity, for the stagnation problem, treat a different hopper angle. The purpose is to compare the engine capacity at RPM 800, 1000, 1600, 2000,and 2400 RPM with a hopper tilt angle of 40 degrees, 60 degrees, and to find out the size of the shreddedresults. To solve the problem, testing is needed using measuring instruments, namely tachometers, stopwatches, and scales. Treatment of 40 degree and 60-degree angles where RPM 800,1000,1600,2000,2400is repeated 3 times. The shredding process for each RPM has a duration of 1 hour, the material is put into theshredder machine differently at each speed. The 40-degree angle of the waste is put into the hopper in stageswith an amount of 5 kg, until the organic waste in the hopper is half gone. After the hopper is changed to 60degrees, the amount of waste is put in 7 kg in stages. The results of the good 40-degree angle test RPM 1600produces a shredding of 294.13 kg / hour, with a standard deviation of 0.30. After the angle is changed to 60degrees by increasing the capacity which causes the hopper to grow larger and is tried at different RPMs, theresults are also different. Then the highest test at RPM 2000, produces a shredding of 400, 96 kg / hour, witha standard deviation of 0.13. The smallest size of the chopped result for 40 degrees is 7 cm at 2400 RPM.And 60 degrees the smallest size is 2400 RPM, which is 3 cm.

Abstract

Seed potatoes are a potential potato plant that really determines the quality of the harvest, therefore one ofthe efforts that can be implemented is to avoid deformation. Through this research, we will look for theinfluence of deformation, which is a change in the shape of an object due to receiving force or whenworking. This research uses a Tension and Compression Testing Machine which is a Universal TestingMachine, specially configured to determine material strength and deformation behavior under compressiveloads. Seed potatoes will be used as test material. This research aims to determine the effect of variationsin the load given to potatoes, determine the level of growth capacity of seed potatoes during the storageperiod, and determine the level of growth capacity of seed potatoes after planting. This study implementeda one-factor completely randomized design (CRD). The load variations tested included 0 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg,30 kg, 40 kg, and 50 kg, with each load repeated three times. Variables measured included the number ofshoots, damage to potato seeds, plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, and tuber weight. The results ofpotato growth by applying loads of 0 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg, 30 kg, 40 kg, and 50 kg had a significant impact onplant height, number of leaves, and leaf area, but did not have a significant impact on the number of potatoshoots. The research results showed that P1 was able to produce the best productivity with an average valueof plant height of 8,06 cm, number of leaves of 28,3 cm, and leaf area of 8 cm2.

Abstract

Rice straw, a major agricultural residue, can be approximately 25 tons/ha post-harvest. Typically managedby farmers through burial or burning, this study aimed to analyze the dynamics of soil organic matter andtotal nitrogen during rice straw management and assess nitrogen mineralization outcomes post-treatment.Employing a Nested Design, the study evaluated three straw management treatments: burial with EM4 (SI),burial without EM4 (SI0), and burning (BR), with sampling locations nested within treatment factors.Laboratory analyses using Walkey and Black's method measured Soil Organic Matter (SOM), whileKjeldahl's method assessed Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN). Pre and post-treatment SOM content rangedfrom 3.94% to 5.11%, showing no significant impact from straw management (p>0.05). TKN levels variedbetween 0.17% and 0.39%, with burial treatments significantly differing (p<0.05), unlike burning (p>0.05).Nested Design testing revealed significant treatment effects, prompting LSD post-hoc tests. Overall, soilSOM increased after straw management, notably impacted by burning. Post-treatment averages for SOMand TKN were: burial with EM4 (5.11% and 0.34%), burial without EM4 (5.15% and 0.39%), and burning(5.11% and 0.33%).

Abstract

Distribution efficiency is the balance value between the water discharge upstream and the water discharge downstream in minimizing the process of water loss. Generally, the water discharge distributed upstream will be greater than the water discharge downstream, due to water loss during distribution. However, there are cases where the amount of water discharge that reaches the downstream is actually greater than the amount of water distributed upstream, as happened in the primary channel of the Tungkub Irrigation Area. One of the causes of this difference in the amount of water discharge is due to the suppression during the distribution process. There are 10 to 15 suppression points available along the primary channel of Irrigation Tungkub Areas. This study aims to determine the efficiency of water distribution by calculating the amount of supplementary discharge and the efficiency of water distribution without calculating the amount of supplementary discharge. This research applies a quantitative analysis approach by collecting primary data, in the form of upstream water discharge data, downstream water discharge data, and supplementary discharge data along the primary channel during July to November 2023. From the calculation results, the result of the efficiency of water distribution with supplementation in the primary channel of DI Tungkub is 73,32% and the result of the efficiency of water distribution without calculating the amount of supplementation is 73,06%. Through this research, it can be concluded that supplementation affects the value of water distribution efficiency in the primary channel of DI Tungkub.

Abstract

The estimation of Potential Evapotranspiration (ETp) is crucial for water distribution planning andcropping patterns. Generally, ETp calculation is obtained from empirical models such as the PenmanMonteith (PM) model recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). However, implementing this model requires numerous weather variables and adequate weather data availability. Thisresearch aims to develop an ETp estimation model using the Random Forest (RF) algorithm The weathervariables used in this research as inputs for ETp modeling are solar radiation (Rs); air temperature (T); airhumidity (RH); and a combination of Rs and T. Weather variable data were obtained from an automaticweather station (AWS) in the Tungkub Irrigation Area, Bali. The research results indicate that the weathervariable Rs is the best estimation model input, while the weather variable RH is the weakest. In modelcalibration, three evaluation metrics were used to assess model performance, R2, MSE, and RMSE.Meanwhile, for model validation, three techniques were employed, prediction error plot, residuals plot, and k-fold cross-validation. The research results indicate that the average ETp estimation value with thescenario of input Rs using the RF algorithm in the Tungkub Irrigation Area is 0,14 mm/hour (R2 = 1,00,MSE = 0,00, RMSE = 0,01). Meanwhile, the average ETp PM value is 0,15 mm/hour. The scenario ofinput Rs using the RF algorithm shows estimation values close to the PM ETp value.

Abstract

Leek (Allium ampeloprasum L.) is a kind of horticultural plant cultivated by farmers in CandikuningVillage, Baturiti, Tabanan. Based on BPS data from Bali Province in 2021, production reached 1,055tons, but there is no clear information regarding the marketing channels. This research aims to determinemarketing channels, distribution of marketing margins and profit margins, level of marketing efficiency, and the proportion of farmer involvement in leek marketing activities. The sample consisted of 30farmers, 7 collectors, 5 larges, and 5 small traders. They were specifically chosen through AccidentalSampling and Snowball Sampling procedures. The data obtained consists of qualitative and quantitativeinformation. Research findings show that there are three different trends in leek marketing channels, specifically channel 1 (farmers – collectors – wholesalers – consumers), channel II (farmers – collectors– small traders – consumers), and channel III (farmers – collectors – wholesalers – traders) small –consumer). Channel III has the highest total margin of IDR 12,467/kg, while Channel 1 has the lowest(IDR 8,467/kg). Large traders get the highest profit margin of IDR 3,546/kg, while small traders inchannel III get the lowest profit margin of IDR 1,734/kg. Channel 1 has the largest farmer's share, 67%,while channel III has the lowest, 58%. All of the channels remain in the efficient category. Based onmarketing costs, marketing margins, and farmer's share obtained, channel 1 is the most efficient
