Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of da'wah as the actualization of the role of religion in democratic behavior. Specifically, the research is focused on exploring the actualization of Islamic values in democratic behavior in Indonesia. The researcher tries to describe the dimensions of state da'wah, especially its relation to democracy. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach through a literature study. The results show that the existence of a state (daula) in people's lives is an essential entity to build a collective moral order. The role of religion supports Islamic da'wah activism, which is carried out both with a cultural and structural approach. Islamic da'wah activities are carried out to control democratic behavior in the administration of a country's government. State da'wah activities are carried out to embody Amar maruf nahi munkar. Efforts to implement Islamic da'wah in applying the principles of state democracy must function as a social control over state administrators to always pay attention to the mandate of their leadership.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the mutaba'ah Al-Quran program through WhatsApp group interactions provided by the Ruquu Community in Bandung. The study focuses on the perceptions and experiences of these community members' involvement in the mutaba'ah program by employing a phenomenological method that depends on in-depth online and offline interviews with the community's founder as well as four purposefully selected community members. It can be argued that although it is something new, the mutaba'ah program through WhatsApp is a simple and voluntary process but has a positive impact on community members. This is due in part to the simplicity of the WhatsApp features. Furthermore, those who take part in the mutaba'ah program are highly motivated to study the Quran, despite the fact that some of them are still hindered by technological issues such as time availability and constraints related to limited internet connection at particular times.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the driving factors for the acceptance process of the Lombok Muslim community towards the da'wah of the Tablighi Jamaat. This is based on the reality of da'wah, which shows a movement against the activism of transnational da'wah movements. The research was conducted through a qualitative approach—data collection techniques through participant observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis follows the stages of the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive model. The study's results stated that the acceptance of the Lombok Muslim community towards the Tablighi Jamaat was due to the good social interaction between the Tablighi Jamaat community and the Lombok Muslim community. Including strengthening teachings, namely the importance of reviving the sunnah of the prophet, conveying greetings, the essence of brotherhood, the urgency of praying in congregation, and turning on the knowledge assembly. The da'wah approach is carried out through distance or friendship and the attitude of glorifying others (Ikram). The communication used is empathic and persuasive. The implication of the research shows that all levels of society can reasonably respond to da'wah politely and with a noble purpose. In addition, at a particular stage, the mindset and behavior of the community can be formed in carrying out Amar makruf nahi munkar.
