Abstract

This research is experimental to analyze the description and differences in the average results of physics learning in groups taught by the cooperative learning model of the TAI, STAD, and TGT types of class X MIPA students at SMA Negeri 3 Makassar. The population in this study were all students in class X MIPA SMA Negeri 3 Makassar as many as 6 classes, the sample was class X MIPA 1 taught the TAI cooperative learning model, class X MIPA 5 taught the STAD type cooperative learning model, and class X MIPA 6 is taught using the TGT cooperative learning model. The instrument in this study was a physics learning achievement test with multiple choice objective questions of 15 items on work and energy, momentum and impulse, and simple harmonic vibrations. The data analysis technique using One Way Analysis Of Variance. Based on the results of the study, (1) the physics learning outcomes using the TAI type cooperative learning model were in the very high category, the STAD and TGT types were in the high category, (2) there was a significant difference in the mean physics learning outcomes between the groups being taught TAI, STAD, and TGT type cooperative learning models (3) the physics learning outcomes of the group taught the TAI type cooperative learning model were significantly higher than the group taught the STAD type cooperative learning model, (4) the group physics learning outcomes that were those taught the TAI cooperative learning model were significantly higher than the group taught the TGT cooperative learning model, (5) the physics learning outcomes of the group taught the STAD type cooperative learning model was significantly higher than the group taught the cooperative learning model type TGT‎.Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Cooperative learning model types TAI, STAD and TGT.

Abstract

This study aims to map the understanding of geometrical optics concepts for physics teacher candidates using the Quizizz application. The type of research used is experimental research. The sample used in this study was 30 students majoring in physics education at Yogyakarta State University as a control class. The research method used is the questionnaire method. Instruments used in the form of multiple-choice questions. Data obtained were analyzed by CRI (Certainty of Response Index) techniques and inferential statistics (Test-t). The results of the study are described that the highest misconception using Quizizz is in the number 6 questions with the indicator of the shadow properties produced by microscope, whereas without using Quizizz there are questions number 5 with a magnification indicator on the lup. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is no prescription the level of understanding of the concept of students when using Quizizz and without Quizizz.Keywords: misconceptions, students, geometry optics, Quizizz

Abstract

The Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative model is a type of learning that can increase student and teamwork in learning process. The purpose of this study is to describe of students activities and studens’ learning outcomes in physics learning of the NHT cooperative learning model. Research done at SMA Negeri 3 Bengkulu City, Bengkulu Province. The research sample in this study were 33 students of c class XI MIPA 1. The technique used to determine the research sample is random sampling. The research steps include preparation (initial observation, interview preparation of rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), activity observation sheets), implementation, and analysis. The research instrument is a activity observation sheets containing 18 statements. Data is analyzed quantitatively using IBM SPSS 25 software. Based on data analysis in the study, it was concluded that students' learning outcomes were in the very high category and students activities in physics learning of the NHT cooperative learning model is very good category. Keywords: Cooperative, Numbered Head Together, Activities

Abstract

Physics subjects often cause difficulties for students in understanding abstract concepts so that misconception often occur, including misconceptions about motion kinematics. Solution of problems is to develop teaching material that can improve conceptual understanding and remediate misconceptions about motion. This study aims to determine the validity of cognitive conflict-based physics teaching materials using the tracker program on motion kinematics so as to improve conceptual understanding and remediate misconceptions in high school students. This type of research is development research by following the Plomp development procedure. This research is limited to two stages, namely preliminary research and prototyping phase until the validity of product. The results of preliminary research indicate that there is misconception in the concept of motion kinematics. The teaching material is designed according to the cognitive conflict model syntax and in the third syntax there is an experiment using the Tracker program. The results of the validity test by 3 physics lecturers obtained an average validation of 0.807. The results off this study state that the teaching materials are in very valid criteria in terms of content, presentation, language, and appearance.Keywords: Cognitive Conflict, Tracker Program, Misconception.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a problem-based learning module to create valid, effective, and practical materials on the concepts of temperature and heat that will help students improve their metacognitive knowledge. The ADDIE development model used in this study. The research subjects were students of class XI SMAN 11 Maros who became the subjects of this research. The instruments used are tests in the form of cognitive and metacognitive knowledge and non-tests in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The results of the study based on linguistic experts amounted to 88.1, media experts amounted to 85.26, material experts amounted to 91.07 with a very valid category. The results of the effectiveness of the module by physics teachers are 98.95 and students are 88.79 in the very practical category. The results of the effectiveness in increasing metacognitive knowledge with an N-gain value of 0.4 in the medium category. This research obtained that the PBL-based module that has been developed is valid, practical, and effective to increase metacognitive knowledge on the concepts of temperature and heat.Keywords: metacognitive, problem based learning, temperature and heat.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning physics assisted by Google Classroom as a Learning Management System (LMS) to improve critical thinking skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Karangrayung. This research is an experimental study with a Quasi Experimental Design, in the form of Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Karangrayung as many as 180 students. The sample used in this study were 2 classes totaling 72 students who were determined using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The instrument used is a test instrument that has been adapted to indicators of critical thinking skills. Before the test instrument is used in research, the instrument has been validated and is suitable for use. The results of data analysis showed that there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class compared to the control class. This is evidenced by the average value of the experimental class 83.36 which is classified as very high, while the control class is 66.14 which is classified as moderate. In the right side t-test analysis, the results of    are 10.606 1.147 and P 0.05, then  is rejected and  is accepted. This means that Google Classroom-assisted learning as a LMS is effective for improving critical thinking skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Karangrayung.Keywords: Critical Thinking Skill, Google Classroom, Learning Management System (LMS)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs of physics teachers and students for simple teaching aids in training students' science process skills. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted in 3 high schools, namely SMAN 07 Bengkulu City, SMA 09 Bengkulu City and SMAN 04 Bengkulu City. This research has subjects, namely students, teachers, and curriculum representatives. In this study, collected data using a questionnaire and interview guidelines. Data analysis uses an interactive model from Miles-Huberman. Data validity uses source triangulation. The conclusion of this study is the need for simple teaching aids in training students' science process skills, especially in the material of straight motion, circular motion, and free fall motion.Keywords: analysis, simple props, science process skills

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' communication skills after participating in learning basic physics courses with the jigsaw type cooperative learning model with the case method. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a posttest only control group design. The population in this study were all students who took basic physics courses. While the samples in this study were two classes of students taken by purposive sampling technique. Each class consists of 20 students. The experimental class was given jigsaw cooperative learning with the case method and the control class was given direct learning with the discussion method. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class students' communication skills was 76.29 in the good category and the control class was 68.71 in the fairly good category. The results of the difference hypothesis test using the Mann-Whitney test show that the u value (110.5) is smaller than the u value in the table (127). Based on these results, it can be concluded that there are differences in the communication skills of students who receive jigsaw cooperative learning with the case method and those who receive direct learning using the discussion method. This shows that the jigsaw type of cooperative learning with the case method can better train students' communication skills.Keywords: cooperative learning model, jigsaw, case method, student communication skills.

Abstract

The aim of this work is to determine the understanding of concepts and digital literacy of students using the Stellarium application in learning astronomy, specifically the celestial body coordinates. The study used pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consists of physics students at UNNES who were taking the Astronomy course. Data was collected through testing using a concept comprehension test and a digital literacy questionnaire. Due to the non-normal distribution of the data, hypothesis testing was conducted using the Wilcoxon test, which showed that the increase in students' concept comprehension was not significant (z-score = -1.43, p-value = 0.076). This result was confirmed by the N-gain of 8.71% (low). However, there were three indicators of the seven concept comprehension indicators tested, that showed a significant improvement, i.e. interpreting, exemplifying, and inferring. Rasch model analysis of the digital literacy questionnaire showed that students' digital literacy skills were very good and consistent with the model's prediction. Thus, the use of Stellarium in learning celestial coordinates can partially improve students' concept comprehension and digital literacy skills.Keywords: Stellarium, Celestial Body coordinates, concept comprehension, Digital Literacy.

Abstract

Learning that exercises generic science skills will result in students being able to understand concepts in solving problems and other scientific activities, as well as being able to learn independently efficiently. The purpose in this study was to determine the effect of using a video tracker in improving students' generic science skills in learning uniform rectilinear motion. In this study using the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sampling technique in this study is Non-Probability Sampling. The population of this study were students in class X MIPA SMA Al Fattah Terboyo Semarang. The sample of this research was 28 students in class X MIPA SMA Al Fattah Terboyo Semarang. Data collection techniques in the form of tests and observations. Data analysis techniques in this study were normality test, homogeneity test, gain test and hypothesis testing with paired sample t test. Based on the results of the study, there is an effect of using a video tracker on students' generic science skills in learning uniform rectilinear motion. It is known from the results of the analysis of the calculation of the average value of the pretest-posttest increase of 22.12% and from the observations made by the observer, the average value is 80.88% with very good criteria. From the results of the gain test analysis, a value of 0.37 is obtained in the moderate category. The results of the normality test obtained a significance value of 0.85 0.05, then H0 was accepted and Ha was rejected. And the results of the homogeneity test obtained a significance value of 0.46 0.05, then H0 was accepted and Ha was rejected. Therefore it was concluded that there was a significant influence on students' generic science skills at SMA Al Fattah Terboyo Semarang.Keywords: Tracker, Science Generic Skills, GLB.
