Abstract

This study used the qualitative descriptive method. The result is as follows. First, the analysis of manuscript discourse aspects was observed with two methods, linguistic and structural methods. The linguistic aspect consist of, intentionality, and acceptability of Bocco Tallu manuscript. The structural method consist of Words, phrases, sentences, stanzas. Second, the analysis of social cultural context of Bocco Tallu manuscript consist of social level (class social), traditional marriage, leadership concepts, arts, and religious system of Mandar tribe. Third, social cultural context of Bocco Tallu manuscript gave contribution to harmonious society in social life of Mandar tribe that is signed with ceremony performed once four years in the presence of all public figures and no other nobles. Having done some analyzes on this text shows the phrases that lead to the concept of power and history in Mandar, especially the kingdom of Alu, Tara Manu 'and Sendana.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the delivery of text and illustrations pornography in adult ads in online games page. (2) to categorize the modes used in the ad text in a page of online games. The results showed (1) There are two methods of delivery of pornography in the text and illustrations of ads on a page of online games, which bluntly and obscurely. Submission of pornography openly seen from the meaning of denotation and connotations, while the delivery of pornographic meaning vaguely seen from the meaning in connotation. The suggestive power of visualization, the ability of sex organs and sexual activity, stimulation of the sex organs, and the depiction of power or virility that encourages libido are shown in faintly visible pornographic depictions. (2) there are several classes of modes in the ad text pages online games, namely: declarative, imperative and introgatif.

Abstract

 This research aims to determine the phenomenological perspective of the potang mogang mandi balimau kasai tradition. The benefit of this research can be as a reference or information reference in subsequent studies, to show readers a phenomenological perspective on the potang mogang mandi balimau kasai tradition. The connection between the Balimau Kasai tradition and the phenomenology of Edmund Husserl lies in the eidetic reduction view. The reality of Balimau Kasai has changed the focus and perception consumed by today's young generation has changed significantly. Therefore, from Edmund Husserl's point of view, this tradition needs to be reduced philosophically. The meaning of the Balimau Kasai tradition is seen from self-awareness of reality. Each person has a different interpretation of Balimau Kasai, depending on their experience with the tradition.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the translation of metaphors in the novel Lelaki Harimau byEka Kurniawan in French. The theory used in this research is the theory of metaphor and thetheory of metaphor translation. Metaphor is a comparative language style that is divided intofour types: anthropomorphic metaphor, animal metaphor, concrete to abstract metaphor andsynthesis metaphor. The theory of metaphor translation is used to analyze the translationstrategies. This research is qualitative with the approach of translation theory. Based on theresults of the study, it is known that although some translations of metaphors have weakenedthe degree of emotional expressions and some metaphorical expressions cannot be literallyaccepted in the target language, in general, the translation Lelaki Harimau to L’homme Tigrecan be judged as good.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the forms of injustice reflected through the language used in the novel of Sali: Kisah Seorang Wanita Suku Dani by Dewi Linggasari. This research is a study using descriptive methods. A method of study is a way of gaining knowledge of a particular object and therefore, must conform to the existence of the object as the theory states. The research Data is the language in the Sali’s Novel: Kisah Seorang Wanita Suku Dani by Dewi Langgasari. Data collection using documentation techniques and note-taking techniques. The results showed that: data on forms of gender injustices reflecting through the language in Sali's novel: Kisah Seorang Wanita Suku Dani, the researcher found only three of the five types of violence set in the previous chapter. The three forms of violence, namely discrimination, double burden, and violence. Also, subordination and marginalization are not found.

Abstract

Mosques are part of a symbol of a religious ritual as a rite of obediqwaan or a manifestation of muslims to be made a place of worship of almighty god. The diversity of mosques in the region marks that Islam is accepted as the religion believed by the people in the region. The architecture of mosques can also provide information regarding the influence of Islam comes from. The quba baadia mosque is the monumental melting point of islamic archaeology built during the reign of buton, also known during the reign of sultan muhammad idrus qaimuddin. Quba baadia mosque has been through redecorating several times, but the architectural feature is still raw. As for the problem with this research, it is knowing the characteristics that are characteristic of the differentiation from other mosques and knowing the factors that influence them.

Abstract

The tradition of the Turun Mandi Ceremony in the Minangkabau ethnic community provides a clear picture of the importance of cultural heritage and the meaning it contains. The understanding that this tradition is passed down from ancestors and held to welcome the birth of a baby at the age of 40 days reflects the richness of values ​​and beliefs passed on from generation to generation. To understand the process of awareness and its meaning, this article uses qualitative research methods with phenomenological perspective analysis and data obtained through library research. The division of consciousness into three types, namely subjective consciousness, intersubjective consciousness, and objective consciousness, reflects important concepts in the phenomenological perspective, especially those developed by Edmund Husserl.

Abstract

Research on the variability of the findings of archaeological data on the Tinco site in Soppeng Regency is very important to know about the function and role of the cultural heritage in the past. The method used is the archaeological survey and analysis analogous to historical (lontaraq) data from people who are still living in the community. The variability of archeological data such as various types of megalithic culture, foreign ceramics, pottery, fortifications, and ancient tombs shows that the site has a very important role in the past. The results of this study indicate that the Tinco site is based on evidence of cultural and natural conditions – it is strongly to indicate that it was the center of the early establishment of the Soppeng Kingdom in the past.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the flow of story sequences in the Demain novel by Guillaume Musso. The analysis shows that the interplay of the past and the present events is one narrative strategy to incite the the curiosity of the readers on the one hand and to delay the possible logic of the sequential story. The results of this study show that the structure of the text contained in the novel Demain can be divided into two main parts, namely: The first part is the group of pre-marriage events that occurred in the years of respectively 1991,1992,1993,1994,1996,1998,1999. While The second stage is the period of the marriage between Matthew and Kate in the year. 2006, The accidental event of old computer purchase by Matthew, the main character leads to a new dimension that opens the way to retrospect the old events.

Abstract

This research aims to present a picture of three figures, describes the relationship of identity and the role of the three character depicted in the story, and describes the factors that cause a someone to change his identity and role. The theory used is the characterization theory by Shlomith Rimmon-Kenan, that is theory Direct definition and Indirect presentation, using twomethods approaches, that is intrisic and extrinsic. The conclusion of this research shows that the two main male figures changed their identity and role several times, while one female figure did not change her identity only in her changing role.
