Abstract

Organizations face very complex challenges to achieve survival and competitive markets. Therefore, this study mainly aims to examine the impact of transformational leadership on innovative work behavior while considering the mediation role of knowledge sharing as well as work passion in work situations. A total of 201 responses were received from the participants working in stone milling companies in Central Java-Indonesia, and 193 questionnaires were taken into account for the analysis. This study tested the whole model via a path analysis utilizing SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicated that transformational leadership directly did not significantly impact innovative work behavior. However, transformational leadership positively and significantly impacted knowledge sharing and work passion. In addition, knowledge sharing and work passion positively and significantly impacted innovative work behavior. This finding signifies that knowledge sharing and work passion mediated the association between transformational leadership and innovative work behavior.

Abstract

This study aims at describing the types of transitivity processes and the most dominant process types of transitivity occurring in reading texts in English textbook. The data were collected from the reading texts in “Bahasa Inggris” textbook for tenth-grade of senior high school students. The results of this study show there are various process types of transitivity occurred in the reading texts. There are relational process, material process, mental process, verbal process, behavioral process, and existential process. The most dominant process type of transitivity is relational process. It is frequently used in descriptive and recount texts which indicated that the texts contained a relational process because they serve to characterize and identify something. In addition, in narrative text the transitivity process that often appears is the material process. It is indicate that the clauses are concerned with a specific participant doing something or something that has happened in the clause. Therefore, the frequency of use of each process type is determined by the language used in the context.

Abstract

Ethical leadership is crucial for the success and sustainability of modern organisation s. Therefore, this study aims to explore and investigate the effect of ethical leadership on job satisfaction. Additionally, this study investigates the mediating roles of work stress and work-life balance (WLB) in the relationship between ethical leadership and job satisfaction. Using a cross-sectional design and self-administered questionnaire, the data are collected from 110 employees working in the private hospital in Indonesia and analysed utilising Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.2 software. The results show that ethical leadership is positively related to WLB as well as job satisfaction, and negatively to work stress. In addition, WLB positively affects job satisfaction, whereas work stress has no significant effect. Given indirect relationships and, more specifically, the findings indicate that WLB fully mediates the effect of ethical leadership on job satisfaction. The findings of this study provide practical implications that ethical leadership supports and empowers employees to experiment and try new things for happiness at work and in their personal lives. This implies that the leader’s concern reinforces a sense of belonging and increases job satisfaction.

Abstract

Mosques are part of a symbol of a religious ritual as a rite of obediqwaan or a manifestation of muslims to be made a place of worship of almighty god. The diversity of mosques in the region marks that Islam is accepted as the religion believed by the people in the region. The architecture of mosques can also provide information regarding the influence of Islam comes from. The quba baadia mosque is the monumental melting point of islamic archaeology built during the reign of buton, also known during the reign of sultan muhammad idrus qaimuddin. Quba baadia mosque has been through redecorating several times, but the architectural feature is still raw. As for the problem with this research, it is knowing the characteristics that are characteristic of the differentiation from other mosques and knowing the factors that influence them.

Abstract

This qualitative study tells the emergence of ICMI as a new political force in Indonesian politics cannot be divorced from its advantages and disadvantages. In moderation, pro circles believe that the emergence of ICMI is, on the one hand, a strategy for the government with its interests, but on the other hand, Muslims can benefit from it. Meanwhile, those who oppose ICMI argue that if it becomes too close to the bureaucracy, it will exacerbate the symptoms of exclusivism and elitism and may even damage the roots of Islamic culture that have been painstakingly built thus far. Furthermore, ICMI was criticized as a tool for election success, allowing Suharto to be re-elected President. ABRI, which played an important political role from the beginning of independence until the New Order, appears to have responded to the rise of Islamic groups, particularly with regard to the birth of ICMI.

Communication, dialogue, speaking, listening, and understanding other people's opinions are also part of da'wa communication. The communication process carried out by preachers can become a benchmark for the success of Islamic communication and propagation. This article offers a new perspective on da’wa activities to increase interaction and develop communication in society. This concept is concerned with amthãl and tafsir as a learning method to increase public interest and interest in Islamic da’wa. Dialogue and communication of da'wa like this is what is popular with the community today as an effort to develop Islamic society. The data collection techniques in this study include field observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results of this study show that da'wa by using amthãl and tafsir as a learning method in the development of Islamic society in West Lombok can provide influence and change the community. This method of da’wa is classified as an innovative method of conveying and spreading the message of Islamic da’wa.

Abstract

This study analyzes the factors contributing to seventh-grade students' lack of interest in learning English at SMPS IT Balik Batang. The objective is to identify and evaluate internal and external factors affecting students' motivation and engagement. This is the kind of mixed method research. The data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with 37 students, examining aspects such as physical conditions, psychological readiness, family support, and classroom environment. The results of the internal factor indicate that 89.19% of students found English difficult to understand due to issues such as pronunciation challenges and unclear explanations from teachers. Furthermore, in the external factors, 86.48% of students reported that distractions from peers significantly impacted their ability to focus during lessons. The study concludes that addressing these factors through improved teaching methodologies and effective classroom management can enhance students' interest and performance in learning English. It emphasizes the importance of tailored educational strategies to meet the specific needs of students.

Abstract

Literasi kiritis merupakan kebutuhan dasar dalam kehidupan akademik dan interaksi sosial pada era globalisasi informasi dan komunikasi dewasa ini. Melalui aktivitas literasi kiritis dengan bahan ajar yang di sekitar peserta didik, bapak/ibu guru dapat merancang pengalaman belajar (learning experiences) yang interaktif lintas mata pelajaran. Sebagai salah satu kata kunci dari rumusan tujuan Pendidikan Nasional, kritis dan kreatif dapat diwujudkan melalui lintas mata pelajaran, termasuk dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Dengan melibatkan mahasiswa yang tergabung dalam English Speaking Club, guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris, guru pembina asrama santri, dan beberapa orang santri, kesempatan belajar (learning opportunity) yang lebih luas dapat diciptakan untuk memfasilitasi kesuksesan pemerolehan bahasa Inggris seiring dengan perkembangan literasi santri di MTs Mu’allimat NWDI Pancor. Pendekatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui workshop. Kegiatan workshop ini diselenggarakan secara bauran (blended) minimal 32 jam. Target luaran wajib pengabdian ini adalah artikel yang dipublikasikan pada jurnal nasional (accepted), publikasi di sosial media. Adapun luaran tambahan, yakni naskah program dan surat pernyataan pemaanfaatan produk oleh pihak pengelaola asrama santriwati MTs Mu’allimat NWDI Pancor dalam hal pengembangan budaya asrama dalam percepatan literasi kritis sebagai kegiatan santri di luar jam sekolah.

Abstract

QuillBot is one of the online programs that can be utilized to enhance students’ writing skills. By integrating the paraphrasing tool QuillBot into the writing instruction, this study aimed to examine the effectiveness of QuillBot paraphraser on the students’ paraphrasing ability. Additionally, this study sought to find out the students' opinions on paraphrasing and on the use of QuillBot in paraphrasing. Adopting a mixed method with explanatory design, this study employed quasi-experimental research with a one group pretest posttest design. There were 44 fourth-semester students taking the Academic Writing course in the English study program at the University of Mataram participating in this study. The students’ paraphrasing ability was tested before and after the treatment with both manual paraphrasing instruction and QuillBot paraphrasing tool. While, the students’ opinions towards paraphrasing instruction integrating the QuillBot paraphrasing tool was discovered through questionnaire. Further, the collected data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively to answer the predetermined research objectives. The results of t-test showed that there was a significant difference between the students’ paraphrasing ability before and after the treatment with significance value 0.000 lower than 0.05. In addition, most students responded positively to the integration of QuillBot in paraphrasing instruction, as it not only improved their literacy skills but also their motivation in learning paraphrasing in which the use of QuillBot paraphraser is simple, easy, instant and time-saving. This study highlights and confirms the potential of AI tools like QuillBot to enhance language instruction. Other reseachers might compare the efficacy of QuillBot paraphraser to other automatic paraphraser in writing instruction and use both questionnaire and interview to obtain more detailed information about the students’ attitudes or opinions.

Abstract

ABSTRACTA paraphrasing strategy instruction model has been developed through a research and development method. The developed model is called the 3RI (Read, Rewrite, Revise, Integrate) paraphrasing strategy instruction model. This is a part of the research and development, which is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the developed model. For evaluation, the field testing was carried out in the English study program at the University of Mataram. Seventy-five students who were taking academic writing courses were involved in this study. To evaluate the effectiveness of the developed model, the students self-assessed before and after having been treated using the 3RI paraphrasing strategy instruction model. After the treatment, the students were asked to fill in the questionnaire, which covered statements about the students' responses toward the instruction with the developed model. The results indicated a significant difference between the student's scores in the self-assessment before and after the treatment. Further, the students generally responded positively to the treatment with the developed model. The 3RI paraphrasing strategy instruction model can be one of the ways to help students avoid plagiarism and develop their creativity and critical thinking skills. ABSTRAKSebuah model instruksi strategi perparafiran telah dikembangkan melalui metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Model yang dikembangkan disebut sebagai model instruksi strategi perparafiran 3RI (Read, Rewrite, Revise, Integrate). Ini merupakan bagian dari penelitian dan pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas model yang dikembangkan. Untuk evaluasi, uji lapangan dilakukan di program studi bahasa Inggris di Universitas Mataram. Tujuh puluh lima mahasiswa yang mengikuti mata kuliah penulisan akademis terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas model yang dikembangkan, mahasiswa melakukan penilaian diri sebelum dan setelah menerima perlakuan menggunakan model instruksi strategi perparafiran 3RI. Setelah perlakuan, mahasiswa diminta untuk mengisi kuesioner yang mencakup pernyataan tentang tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap instruksi dengan model yang dikembangkan. Hasilnya menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara skor penilaian diri mahasiswa sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Selanjutnya, mahasiswa umumnya memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap perlakuan dengan model yang dikembangkan.
