Abstract

The aim of this study are to observe the level of farming income in fattening local rabbits which were given a basic feed of carrot leaf waste which was supplemented with concentrates in different levels. This study uses a Randomized Block Design (RBD). Twenty male rabbits aged 7 weeks were divided into four treatments. The treatment of concentrate level 0g (R0 / control), 15g (R1), 30G (R2), and 45g (R3), each consisting of five rabbits used individual cages measuring 70cm x 50cm x 50cm. Forage feed in the form of carrot leaves is given ad libitum. The data used is primary data and secondary data. Management is explained descriptively based on observations. While the analysis of level income in fattening local rabbit is seen based on cost analysis, income analysis, R / C ratio analysis and BEP. The results showed that the largest total revenue was treatment of R3 Rp. 397,350.5 - with a total cost of Rp. 333,823. Based on cash costs, the highest total income is in treatment R0, which is Rp 113,631.9 with an R/C ratio of 1.47 while the revenue is treatment with the addition of concentrate is lower at Rp 83,301.6 (R1); Rp.69,658.1 (R2) and Rp.66,526.5 (R3) as well as an R/C ratio of 1.30 (R1); 1.24 (R2) and 1.19 (R3). BEP unit and BEP prices for each treatment are 2 head (R0); and 3 head (R1); (R2); (R3) with a price of Rp. 48,043.6 (R0); Rp. 54,819.7 (R1); Rp. 58,888.4 (R2) and Rp. 66,764.7 (R3). It was concluded that the addition of concentrate was still less profitable compared to carrot leaf-based maintenance without the addition of concentrates. Abstract

The study aim to determine the effect of the natural fermentation of cow milk and goat milk to flavor (taste and aroma), total acid and protein concentration. The samples were fresh Frisian Holstein Crossbreed (FHC) cow milk, and Etawa Crossbreed (PE) goat milk. Those were obtained from CV. Margo Utomo, located at Pulau Batam Street, No.10, Denpasar and a distributor of fresh goat milk was UD. Bali Sariwangi, located at Sepang Village, Busungbiu, Buleleng, Bali. The experimental design used was Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisted of 2 factors and 3 replicated. The first factors were milk type, namely S1 (100% cow milk), S2 (50% cow milk+50% goat milk) and S3 (100% goat milk). The second factors were fermentation time, i.e. W0 (control), W10 (10 hours of fermentation) and W20 (20 hours of fermentation). The variables observed were: flavor (taste and aroma), total acid and protein concentration. The result showed that milk type was not significantly differen (P>0,05) on taste and aroma, while the total acid and protein concentration were significant differen (P<0,05). The fermentation time was significantly different (P<0,05) to taste, aroma, the total acid and protein concentration. The interaction between milk type and fermentation time was significantly differen (P<0,05) to taste whereas in aroma, total acid and protein concentration were not significantly diferen (P>0,05). Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the type of milk does not affected the taste and aroma of sour milk, but could increase total acid and reduce protein concentration during 20 hours fermentation. The fermentation time could increased total acid and reduce protein concentration, and reduce the score of panelis preference for taste and aroma of sour milk. There were interaction on taste. To make nature mixed milk and goat milk fermentation for 10 hours, due to it has no effect on taste and aroma, and total acid andprotein concentration is still in accordance with the standard, so it still suitable for consumsion and acceptable to consumers. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Agnihotra ash in commercial diet on the weight external offal of broiler chickens on the age of 5 weeks.It was conducted in the cage owned by Mr. I Ketut Sunatra located at Br. Anyar, Kediri, Tabanan,Bali. There were 80 day old chicks CP 707 (unsexed) used in the study.The animal were bought at PT. Tohpati Poultry Shop, Denpasar – Bali. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted of 4 treatments and 4 replicates. So, there were 16 of experimental units. The treatments were: A = commercial diet without Agnihotra ash (control), B = Commercial diet + 0.1% Agnihotra ash, C = Commercial diet + 0.2% Agnihotra ash and D = Commercial diet + 0.3% Agnihotra ash. The variables observed were weight of head, neck, foot, blood and feather. The results showed that Agnihotra ash on the level of 0.1%-0.3% in commercial diet not significanly increase (P>0,05) the weight of external offal broiler aged 5 weeks. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that Agnihotra ash at the level of 0.1%-0.3% in diet did not affect on external offal (the weight of head, neck, leg, blood and feather) broiler on the age of 5 weeks. Abstract

Frozen semen quality test before distribution was very important. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of the length thawing time of bali cattle’s frozen semen produced by UPT BIBD Baturiti at quality test before distribution. This study was carried out at UPT BIBD Baturiti Laboratory, Baturiti village, Baturiti district, Tabanan Regencyfor four weeks. It was designed using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions hence there was 12 experimental units. Those treatments were 4 thawing times, which were 15 second (A), 30 second (B), 45 second (C) and 60 second (D). Variable observered were sperm motility, sperm concentration, life sperm percentage and sperm abnormality. The result showed that the length thawing time gave very significant effect (P<0,01) to sperm motility and significant effect (P<0,05) to life sperm percentage. On the contrary to sperm concentration and sperm abnormality. Therefore it can be concluded that the best quality of frozen semen of bali catlle that was thawed for 30 seconds in 37ºC temperature. Meanwhilethawing for 45 seconds was abled to maintain the quality fozen semen bali catlle. Keywords: thawing, test quality, frozen semen, bali cattle’s.

Abstract

The research was aimed to determine the comparisonof physicaland chemical quality pork of Landrace crossbred that is fed based on Denpasar city waste with pork of Landrace crossbred given concentrate.The research conducted for 2 months at the Laboratory of Animal Product Technology and Microbiology Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Agrokomplek Building Udayana University.The research used the meat of the Longissimus dorsi muscle from 16 crossbred Landrace pigs, male sex of castration, finisher phase with final body weight 90±0,53kg. The research used simple experimental design (t-Test) by comparing the physical and chemical quality of pork from Landrace crossbred that is fed based on Denpasar city waste (A) with pork of Landrace crossbred given concentrate (B), with each 8 pigs as replications. The variables observed were pH value, cooking loss, drip loss, water holding capacity, and water content. The data obtained were analyzed used two independent sample t-Test.The results showed that the pH values ??of both samples were the same, the percentage of water content of the two samples was significantly different (P<0.05), while the percentage of cooking loss, drip loss, and water holding capacity of both samples were not significantly different (P>0.05). Based on the results of the research can be concluded that, the physical and chemical qualitypork of Landrace crossbred that is fed based on Denpasar city wasteis lower than the physical and chemical quality pork of Landracecrossbred given concentrate. Abstract

Pigs are one of the livestock commodities that are potential enough to be developed. The application of a good partnership pattern will lead to satisfaction. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of application of pig partnership patterns and the level of satisfaction of plasm farmers Charoen Pokphand ltd. in Bali. The results of the study are expected to be useful as a material consideration that is useful for core companies in making decisions and perfecting the implementation of partnerships that have taken place. The study was carried out for 3 months, at 4 regencies in Bali. The choice of the study location use the Purposive Sampling method and the determination of the sample using Quota sampling. Respondents in this study were 32 people who collaborated with Charoen Pokphand ltd. The variables observed were the application of partnership patterns and the level of satisfaction of plasm farmers. The results of the study showed that the application of the pig partnership pattern was categorized as high with an average score of 78.16%. The level of satisfaction of the plasm farmers expressed satisfaction with an average score of 77.73%. The relationship between the two was categorized as very significant (P<0.01). From the results of the research, it can be suggested that the farmers as plasm were more willing to submit complaints to the company as the core, in order to create mutual benefits. Abstract

This research aimed to find out the influence of giving katuk leaf (Sauropus androgynous L. Merr) water extract towards colour, protein levels, fat levels, and the cholesterol of Lohmann Brown chicken egg yolks in the age of 22-30 weeks. This research has been implemented at the poultry farm in Dajan Peken Village, Tabanan sub-district, Tabanan regency through three months. The design of experiment that applied in this research is Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and six replications. Those 36 laying chicken of Lohmann Brown with homogeneous weight were raised in 18 squares of colony battery cages. The treatment consisted of drinking water without additional of katuk leaf water extract (K0) as the control, drinking water with addition of 3% katuk leaf water extract (K1), and drinking water with addition of 6% katuk leaf water extract (K2). The colour, protein levels, fat levels, and the cholesterol of egg yolks were the variables that observed in this research. The result showed that the colour of egg yolks and protein levels towards the (K1) and (K2) treatment gave significant effect (P<0,05) higher than K0. However, the fat levels and the cholesterol of egg yolks towards the (K1) and (K2) treatment gave significant effect (P<0,05) lower than the chicken which was not given the addition of katuk leaf (Sauropus androgynous L. Merr) water extract (K0) as the control. From the result, it can be concluded that the giving katuk leaf (Sauropus androgynous L. Merr) water extract with addition of 3% and 6% level through drinking water could increase the colour and the protein levels of chicken egg yolks and also the reduction of fat levels and cholesterol of chicken egg yolks of Lohmann Brown in the age of 22-30 weeks were occurred. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the ability of 0.2% and 0.4% of cellulolytic bacteria B-6 as a probiotic source to increase egg weight and physical quality of egg in Lohmann Brown laying hens aged 40-48 weeks. Hens used in the research is laying hens Lohmann Brown aged 40 weeks as many as 36 heads with homogeneous body weight. The design used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with three treatments, namely the provision of drinking water with out the addition of cellulolitik B-6 bacteria as control (A), drinking water with the addition of 0.2% cellulolitik B- 6 bacteria (B), and drinking water with the addition of 0.4% cellulolitik B-6 bacteria (C). Each treatment consisted of six replications and each replicate using of two hens. The variables observed were egg weight, percentage of egg whites, percentage of egg yolk, and percentage of egg shell. The results showed that in laying hens treatment B and C were egg weight, percentage of egg yolk, and percentage of egg shell significantly defferent (P<0.05) higher than laying hens treatment A, while laying hens treatment B and C percentage of egg white significantly defferent (P<0,05) more low compared to laying hens that get treatment A. It was conclude that giving 0.2% and 0.4% probiotics Cellulolitik B-6 in drinking water can increase egg weight, egg yolk percentage, eggshell percentage, while the percentage of egg whites decreased. Abstract

This study aims to find out the effect of different levels protein and energy rations given to the body composition of bali cattle heifers. This research was conducted at Cattle Farm in Belok Sidan Village, Petang District, Badung Regency for 3 months. A total of 12 heifers in this study, were use and they were divided into three groups by their weights. Randomized block design (RBD) was used for experimental design. There were four different rations given those groups; Those rations were A consisted of 12% crude protein and 2000 kcal ME/kg of energy; B (13% crude protein and 2100 kcal ME/kg of energy); C (14% crude protein and 2200 kcal ME/kg of energy) and D (15% crude protein and 2300 kcal ME/kg of energy). Variables observed were water (%), fat (%), protein (%) and fat retention (g/e/h). This study showed that water and protein of the body were not affected (P>0,05) by above treatment of the body, on the contrary to the fat content and fat retention. The highest body fat and fat retention obtained in treatment D were about 20,33% and 85,81 g/e/h. Hence, it can be concluded that ration contain 12% to 15% crude protein and 2000 to 2300 kcal ME/kg metabolic energy not affected water, and protein of the body. This results were still in the range of the standard recommended. Where as 39,8%-77,6% for the body water and 12,4%-20,6% for the body protein. 15% of crude protein and 2300 kcal ME/kg of energy given resulted in the highest body fat and retention rates of 20,33% and 85,81 g/e/h, respectively. Abstract

The research aims to know the efficiency of water utilization in local legumes Centrosema pubescens and Clitoria ternatea with gave different concentration of water. The research was conducted for 12 weeks at the Green House Laboratory of Feeds, Faculty of Animal Science, Udayana University, Denpasar. The experimental design used in this research was completely randomn design (CRD) with split plot pattern. The main plot were the type of local legume, Centrosema pubescens (S) and Clitoria ternatea (C), while sub plot were the concentration of water 100% in field capacity (FC) (K1), 80% FC (K2), 60% FC (K3), 40% FC (K4). So, there were eight treatment combinations that were repeated five times with 40 experimental pots. The observed variables in the research were efficiency of water utilization, growth, plant’s production and characteristic grow of the plants. The research result showed that the local legumes were significant difference (P<0.05) in all variables except water utilization efficiency, plant height, number of leaves, dry weight of stem and root. Treatment of water concentration offered to the plants showed significant difference (P<0.05) on all variables except dry weight of leaves, root and the ratio of dry weight of leaves with stems. It can be concluded that the water level of 40% FC still be able to maintain the growth of local legumes as will as in the water concentration of 60% FC and 80% FC. Water concentration of 100% FC produced the highest yield on growth, production and characteristics grow of local legumes. The concentration water 40% FC gave the highest yield on efficiency of water utilization in local legumes. There was no interaction between the types of local legumes with different concentration of water.
