Abstract

This study to determine the effect of substitution and addition pollard duck mix in the commercial ration, the weight cut and the external offal of ducks Bali age of ten weeks. Ducks fed 100% commercial as treatment A (control), ducks fed commercial pollard 85% + 15% + 0.3% duck mix as treatment B, ducks fed a commercial 70% + 30% + pollard "Duck Mix "0.3% as treatment C, and the ducks are fed a commercial 55% + 45% + pollard" Duck Mix '0.3% as treatment D. The results weight cut duck who gives 100% commercial ration as control 1558.60 tail, whereas treatment B, C, D has a 2.09% cut weight, 5.09%, 5.08% was not significant (P> 0, 05) lower than the control. Heavy duck head on the perpetrator A 5.30%, while B 5.28% C 2.45% D 2.45%, 1.70% D unreal, lower than the control. Heavy neck duck on treatment A 8,, 09% while B 4.57%, C 10.26%, 0.37% D unreal, higher than the control. Heavy duck leg on treatment A 2.49%, 6.83%, while B, C 10.04% D 12.45% is not real, lower than the control. Treatment duck feather weight at a 6.71%, while 6.71% B, while B 0.60%, 7.30% and D is not significantly higher and 1.04% C handles not significant lower than the control. Based on the results of the study concluded that administration pollard 15%, 30% and 45% as a substitute as feed additives commercial with "Duck Mix" produce weight cut and the external offal Bali male ducks were not different from control. Abstract

A research aiming to identify and evaluate lignin degradation capability of lignolytic bacteria isolate isolated from earthworms on weeds crops substrates have been done in Nutrition and Forage Laboratory of Animal Husbandary Faculty, Udayana University for 3 (three) months. Evaluation on the degradation capability of lignolytic substrate was based on clear zone diameter that was formed in the substrates of water hyacinth, and water lettuce leaves. The research was based on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 (three) treatments and 3 (three) repetitions. The treatments are lignolytic bacteria isolates with codes EB1LG, EB2LG and EB3LG. Research result showed that on the water hyacinth and water lettuce leave substrates, showed that bacteria isolate coded EB1LG has highest clear zone diameters (1,525 cm and 1,528 cm) were 1,05% and 0,64% or 0,15% and 1,32% higher than bacteria isolates coded EB2LG and EB3LG, yet statistically it was not significantly different (P>0.05). Based on the research it can be concluded that on all substrates, namely water hyacinth, and water lettuce leaves, the three lignolytic bacteria isolated from earthworms have almost identical capability in degrading lignin.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan jenis dan dosis pupuk organik yang dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi rumput benggala, dilaksanakan di Rumah Kaca Laboratorium Tumbuhan Pakan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana selama 3 bulan, menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah jenis pupuk organik (sapi, ayam+sapi, kambing+sapi) dan faktor kedua adalah dosis pupuk ( 10, 20, dan 30 ton/ha), sehingga terdapat 16 kombinasi perlakuan. Setiap kombinasi perlakuan diulang sebanyak empat (4) kali sehingga terdapat 48 unit perobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara perlakuan jenis dan dosis pupuk organik berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah dan berat kering bunga. Jenis pupuk berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah bunga, berat kering daun, berat kering batang, berat kering bunga, dan berat kering tajuk, sedangkan dosis pupuk berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun, jumlah anakan, jumlah bunga, berat kering daun, berat kering batang, berat kering bunga, berat kering tajuk, dan luas daun per pot. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa interaksi antara perlakuan jenis dan dosis pupuk organik berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah dan berat kering bunga, jenis pupuk organik sapi dan ayam+sapi dapat menghasilkan pertumbuhan dan produksi rumput benggala yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pupuk organik kambing+sapi. Semua dosis pupuk organik dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan, produksi dan karakteristik rumput benggala dan pada jenis pupuk  ayam+sapi cenderung optimal pada dosis 20 ton/ha.

Abstract

This study aim was to find out the effect of noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) extract water given into drinking water to egg production of Lohmann Brown the age of 22-30 weeks. Research in Dajan Peken village, Tabanan sub-district-Bali for 3 months with 36 Lohmann Brown chicken the age of 22 week as material. The design used is complete randomized design with 3 treatments and 6 replications. Such treatment: without added noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) water extract as control (A); B: with 2% noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) water extract; and C; with 4% noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) water extract. Variables obserbed were feed consumption, water consumption, feed converation ratio, total egg production, average egg weight and total egg weight. The results obtained were tested by multiple analysis from Duncan. The results showed that giving leaf water extract of noni leaf into drinking water at level 2% and 4% significantly able to increased feed consumption, water consumption, total egg production, average egg weight, total egg weight and reduced feed conversion ratio value on Lohmann Brown chicken the age of 22-30 weeks. The conclusion of this study is giving water extract of noni leaf at level 2% and 4% into drinking water can significantly increase egg production and reduced feed conversion ratio value of Lohmann Brown chicken aged 22-30 weeks. Abstract

The activity aims to find out and assess the feeding management of broiler parent stock phase layer at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm Unit 8 Probolinggo East Java in the implementation of student work practices/PKM at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University. Activities carried out through interviews, observation and direct work practices. The results of the activity showed that the feeding management of broiler parent stock phase layer at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Probolinggo East Java Farm Unit 8 has been well implemented. The quality of feed is considered well and meets the needs of livestock. The feed given is feed into pellets "Charoen 535 CT" for males and "Charoen 534-2T" for females. The frequency of feeding is done once a day. Male feed is given as much as ± 161.3 g/head/day while for females given as much as ± 142.3 g/head/day. The prediction of consumption of nutrient broiler parent stock phase layer feed includes protein, fat, fiber, ash, calcium, and phosphorus for males, namely 22.6; 4.8; 9.7; 11.3; 1.5; and 0.97 g/head/day while for females that is 21.8; 4.3; 8.5; 17,1; 4.6; and 0.85 g/head/day. At PKM at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm Unit 8, Probolinggo, East Java, students are actively involved in the whole series of maintenance and management activities of broiler parent stock. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the feeding management of broiler parent stock phase layer at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Probolinggo East Java Farm Unit 8 has been implemented well, this is seen from high egg production, daily increase in body weight of chickens, and low mortality in chickens. Abstract

Now there are many opportunities in the development of production and accompanied by an increase in the quality of broiler chicken meat carcasses through biotechnology engineering, namely the use of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) as probiotics, sourced from a result of fermentation traditional cassava tape and sour soy milk.Completely randomized design (CRD) were used which consisted of six treatments and four replicates. Each replicate consist of five chickens. The chicken was raised for 5 weeks and then slaughtering was done two times or two chickens in each replicate, so we had 48 sample to be analyzed. The treatments are as follow: drinking water not added probiotic as control (A); 1% of cassava tape in 1 liter water (B); 2% of cassava tape in 1 liter water (C); 1% of sour soymilk in 1 liter water (D); 2% of sour soymilk in 1 liter water (E); 1% of cassava tape + 1% sour soymilk in 1 liter water (F). The experimental commercial diets for starter phase (aged 1-3 weeks) was given councentrate type CP 511 and CP 512 for finisher phase (aged 3-5 weeks). The experiment started used the chicken aged 1 week with average weight of 174 – 181 g/birds. In conclusion of the research, had potential benefits improved for carcass production and quality broiler chicken meat, showed that increase of total protein serum, hight density lipoprotein (HDL) and also increasing organoleptic characteristic, also effect significantly decrease of total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein (LDL). It was sugested consumed the broiler chicken carcass meat to improved safety and healthy consumers. Keywords: LAB probiotic; sour soy milk;cassava tape; production;quality; chicken meat

Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuanuntuk mengetahui populasi mikroba inokulan yang telah diproduksi dengan menggunakan kombinasi cairan rumen sapi bali dan rayap, dilaksanakan dari tanggal 3 Mei 2013 sampai dengan akhir Oktober 2013 di Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak dan Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan yaitu Inokulan yang diproduksi menggunakan 10% cairan rumen dan 0,3% rayap (BR1T3), 20% cairan rumen dan 0,2% rayap (BR2T2) serta 20% cairan rumen dan 0,3% rayap (BR2T3) dan tiga ulangan. Peubah yang diamati adalah populasi bakteri anaerob, populasi bakteri selulolitik, populasi bakteri asam laktat, populasi total fungi, populasi fungi selulolitik dan derajat keasaman inokulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa populasi bakteri anaerob sebesar (3,99-5,49 x 108 koloni/ml,), populasi bakteri selulolitik (3,61-4,59 x 108 koloni/ml), populasi bakteri asam laktat (2,87-4,53 x 107 koloni/ml), populasi total fungi (4,40-5,60 x 107 koloni/ml) dan populasi fungi selulolitik (2,13-2,93x 107 koloni/ml) serta derajat keasaman inokulan masing-masing sebesar 4,46-4,66. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan kombinasi cairan rumen sapi bali 20% dengan penggunaan rayap 0,2% dan 0,3% pada inokulan (BR2T2 dan BR2T3) mampu meningkatkan populasi bakteri anaerob, bakteri selulolitik, dan fungi selulolitik, namun populasi bakteri asam laktat, populasi total fungi dan derajat keasaman tidak berpengaruh.

Abstract

Breeding value is one of on the selection program parameters which can be used to evaluate to improve genetic quality of cattle. BPTU-HPT Denpasar is goverment institution responsible in conserving bali cattle. This study was conducted to find out breeding value of birth weight, weaning weight and yearling weight calves in that institution. Data used in this study was secondary data collected from year 2012 to 2015. This study was carried out from July 14th to August 25th 2017. From those data, breeding value estimation of birth weight, weaning weight and yearling weight were collected. Calculation method used base on performance test by Hardjosubroto (1994). The results showed that breeding value of those parameter observed vary from upper and bellow average of the population year 2012 to 2015. The highest breeding value estimation of birth weight breeding ob tained was 0.46 kg (bulls number 0105.15 and 0110.15) on male calves, while as on female calves was 1.40 kg (cow number 0204.15) in 2015. Secondary parameter weaning weight was 9.94 kg (bull number 0137.13) on male calves and 9.90 kg (cow number 0233.13) on female calves in 2013. The last parameter calculated, yearling weight the highest breeding value estimation of male and female calves were 6.99 kg (bull number 0101.14) and 5.30 kg (cow number 0204.14) in 2014. Those calves which were have high breeding values, will be suggested to be replacement for culled cattle. Keywords : bali cattle, body weight, breeding value

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of ration fermented inoculant lignocellulolytic bacteria rumen and termites on levels of glucose, urea and blood lipids bali cattle have held in Station Research of Animal Husbandry Faculty, Udayana University, Bukit Jimbaran. The research used three elected superior inoculant (BR23T14, BR24T13, BR34T12) result research by Mudita et al. (Unpublished). The experiment was conducted using a randomized block design (RBD) with three treatments and three groups as replication. The treatments were RF1 was ration fermented with superior inoculant 1 (BR23T14), RF2 was ration fermented with superior inoculant 2 (BR24T13) and RF3 was ration fermented with superior inoculant 3 (BR34T12). The variables measured include concentration level of glucose, urea, cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL blood of Bali cattle. The results showed that the ration fermented by third superior inoculant (RF1, RF2 and RF3) capable of producing concentration of glucose, urea and blood lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL) were not significant different (P>0.05). Based on the results of this study concluded that given ration fermented by third inoculant of lignocelluloliytic bacteria rumen and termites does not lead to differences in the blood chemistry profile especially glucose, urea and blood lipids bali cattle.

Abstract

Milk has high nutrition, this causes milk to be a medium that is very favored by microorganisms for their growth and development. Damage that occurs in milk results in a decrease of it quality that can be known by test of it. This study aims to determine the fat content, alcohol test, LAB and flavor of milk during storage of room temperature. Milk samples were obtained from Etawah Crossbreed (PE) dairy goat farms in Sepang Village, Busung Biu District, Buleleng Regency. This research was conducted for 1 month from 29 June - 2 August 2018. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 3 storage treatments at room temperature namely P0 (0 hour of storage), P4 (4 hours of storage) and P6( 6 hours of storage) repeated 4 times, so the samples examined were 12 samples. The variables observed in this study were alcohol test, fat content, amount of LAB and flavor. The data obtained were analyzed with variance, if there were significant differences (P<0.05) then the analysis continued with Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed that the alcohol test at P0 and P4were negative results, while on P6was a positive result. Fat content of P4 (86.04%) and P6 (49.35%) and P4 BAL (44.5%) increased significantly (P<0.05) compared to P0. P4 taste (17.14%) and P6 (35.71%) significantly decreased (P<0.05) compared to P0 with the longer storage time. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the goat milk stored for 4 hours at room temperature was the best treatment in maintaining milk freshness in terms of alcohol test, fat content, total LAB and flavor preferences.
