Abstract

Islam is a religion brought by the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam which is a mercy for the universe. But lately, there have been several issues of cornering Islam, namely Islamophobia. This is because sometimes the application of Islam normatively and also its application in the real world that we call the term historical Islam occurs in conflict things, so in this case the approach of humanism, the wisdom of thinking, mutual respect and mutual respect in order to create a safe life and peace. The data analysis method that the researcher uses is a descriptive analysis method, which explains the data with the elaboration based on theories, one of the theory is M. Amin Abdullah's theory of normative and historical Islam. This research is in the form of library research. The results of this study are the solution to the normative and historical problem of Islam, namely missionary communication that is humanist, advising, embracing, not criticizing and not forcing and remaining in the arms of ukhuwah Islamiyah as long as these differences can still be tolerated and does not come out of the boundaries of sharia 'at Islam itself. Why does humanist da'wah communication become a middle way to reconcile normative or historical understanding? Because in fact the problem is not the difference itself, but how we respond to these differences.

Abstract

The family includes the primary shaper of this character and supporting factors in realizing these teachings through the formation of morality, as we all know that since birth, the people closest to humans are family members. This article aims to find out about da'wah communication, which is used as an alternative way for children who experience broken homes. This study uses a qualitative research method with the type of research in the form of qualitative descriptive by positioning the author as a critical instrument. As for the results in this study, that parent-child often contains views about power and authority. So it is common for children living in such families to experience rebellion. So, da'wah communication can be a solution for broken home children, based on their parents as preachers who encourage children. Because of the participation of the communicants (mad'u) of their children in the ideas or messages conveyed by the communicators (da'i), namely their parents.

Abstract

The study aimed to describe jamu as herbal medicine, the study of health communication, and philosophy as a cultural identity. The community's herbal medicine consumption habit and the fertile land conditions allow the community planting of various rhizome species as medicines. Indonesians are familiar with the family medicinal plants (TOGA, Tanaman Obat Keluarga), consisting of fruits, vegetables, and rhizomes, as seasoning ingredients. The data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and the informants comprised herbal medicine people in business, herbalists, and consumers. Various media were employed, including direct communication, Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, pamphlets, brochures, and leaflets on the walls of shops. The findings of this study concern the herbal medicine-based communication health model as a philosophy of identity in Bandar Lampung City, Indonesia. This model increases the awareness of maintaining health and stamina through herbal medicines, besides conventional medical treatment. These medicines help preserve energy, strengthen body endurance, beauty care, and other therapeutic applications.

Abstract

Implementation of good governance in public bodies continues to be pursued in various ways, particularly at state universities. Public information disclosure through the Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) and Integrated Service Unit (ULT) is crucial for creating transparent and accountable governance. This study aims to identify supporting factors for successful public information disclosure implementation through these two programs. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis at four state universities with exemplary systems: Brawijaya University, IPB University, Malang State University, and Jakarta State University. The results reveal three key supporting factors: leadership commitment demonstrated through regular evaluation and direct involvement, sustainable innovation in service systems and infrastructure development, and stakeholder synergy between internal and external parties. This research contributes to developing effective public information disclosure strategies in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to find the results of the implications of the use of social media by the Bandar Lampung City government as a crisis communication management strategy during the Covid-19 pandemic. Crisis communication efforts are carried out through the @eva_dwiana Instagram account. This research used a qualitative content analysis method with Instagram content objects @eva_dwiana from 2019 to 2020. The results showed that the Bandar Lampung City Government, through its Mayor, used social media accounts to disseminate instructions regarding the handling of COVID-19 as well as publicize the performance carried out in overcoming the crisis. Other results also have more uploads containing instructions than performance publications. It also shows that the Bandar Lampung City Government prioritizes public safety over the institution's reputation.

Abstract

Siger Innovation Hub (Sigerhub) is a business incubator that impacts efforts to develop the potential of MSMEs in Lampung Province. Sigerhub has various coaching programs such as talent hub, incubation, funding & market access, which are presented as "Siger Business Sprint" events. Considering the critical role of Business Incubators in creating enthusiasm for new businesses, evaluation of business Incubators is necessary so that empowerment of MSMEs is more optimal. This event is inseparable from communication processes. This research systematically analyzes communication patterns and strategies in events to optimize the coordination system from planning to evaluating activities so that MSME empowerment efforts can run optimally. Using organizational communication theory and innovation diffusion theory, and the research method uses descriptive qualitative with a case study approach to obtain communication patterns and strategies. The results revealed that the communication pattern in the Siger Business Sprint event used a predominantly wheel structure. The communication strategies are based on media, instructional design, participation, and marketing. Researchers found that there were obstacles to using inappropriate communication patterns and strategies in several event implementation conditions, so the benefits couldn’t reach all community groups, especially those who didn’t have businesses. Using appropriate patterns and strategies can maximize efforts to develop MSMEs and foster a spirit of entrepreneurial motivation for all community groups.

Abstract

TikTok has the potential to be a powerful tool for political campaigns, especially for searching young voters. Issues related to identity politics, tolerance, freedom of religion, and protection of human rights will continue to be an important concern in the presidential election. A political campaign refers to the organized efforts undertaken by candidates, political parties, or advocacy groups to influence public opinion, garner support, and secure votes during an election or for a specific political cause. This study aims to analyze the content shared on TikTok by presidential candidates, evaluate its effectiveness in reaching and engaging voters. This research will use qualitative approach. These specific objectives include analyzing political messages, assessing visual communications, evaluating campaign strategies, understanding user interactions, comparative analysis within the TikTok platform. By conducting a comprehensive content analysis of TikTok as a political campaign medium. This research tries to provide an overview of the effectiveness of using TikTok for political communication. These findings will contribute to be a better understanding of TikTok’s potential as a platform to engage and mobilize voters in the context of the 2024 presidential election.

Abstract

 As the 2024 presidential election approaches, political campaigning is beginning in the Republic of Indonesia. One candidate who has not escaped the spotlight is Anies Rasyid Baswedan. In attracting sympathisers, Anies Rasyid Baswedan makes use of conventional and social media in campaigning. This study uses semiotic analysis to analyse the persuasive messages used by Anies in campaigning. In the Bacapres Bicara Gagasan event on the Narasinewsroom Youtube channel, Anies Rasyid Baswedan used persuasive messaging techniques. The message preparation techniques are fear appeal, emotional appeal, reward appeal, motivational appeal and humorous appeal. The research method used is qualitative text media analysis approach Charles Sanders Pierce. Where this method is known as the triadic method, representamen, object and interpretant. The results showed that Anies Baswedan at the Bacapres Bicara Gagasan event fulfilled the technique of preparing persuasive messages. The five message preparation techniques studied, Anies Rasyid Baswedan used all techniques in delivering messages in front of the audience. In addition, Anies Baswedan provides hopes and promises in the form of justice for the condition of Indonesia today.

Abstract

Generally, people use social media as a real-life reference. Social media provides freedom to share information, usually called 'content'. Every day, millions of pieces of information are absorbed and enjoyed by many people. This includes 'rubbish' information such as verbal abuse, swearing, and blasphemy. Freedom of expression has gone beyond borders. This phenomenon is called Digital Flaming. Digital Flaming is a detrimental behavior, both for the flamers and their victims. The impact that occurs most often attacks a person's mental state. Digital flaming occurs due to specific motivations or factors. This research aims to critically discuss a person's motivations for digital flaming on social media. The method used is qualitative, conducted in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with informants. This research shows that digital flaming occurs based on six motivations: fanaticism, incitement, spontaneous emotions, low literacy, anonymity through second accounts, and lack of empathy. The causal factors and various motivations identified in this research are the basis for determining strategies for preventing flaming behavior on social media. This way, we can minimize flaming on social media in the future.

Abstract

This article discusses the reality of Muslims and how they perceive the Qur’an by using certain verses in the practice of ruqyah. The functionalization of Al-Qur'an verses in the practice of ruqyah, which is carried out jointly between the raqi and the client, is a therapeutic communication medium. It is the Ruqyah Quar'anic Healing International (QHI) Institute in the Lampung Region, which, in practice, uses verses from the Qur’an as a means of curing clients' illnesses. This research uses a qualitative approach using primary and secondary data sources explored using snowball sampling. Based on the interviews and observations, data was found that the reception of the Qur’an through the practice of ruqyah can be said to be a therapeutic communication medium. Second, raqi, as communicators and clients as communicants, understand ruqyah as a form of receiving the Qur’an, which is believed to have supernatural powers that can cure psychological and physical illnesses. Third, from a da'wah perspective, in the mass ruqyah process, a social network is built between raqi and clients. Fourth, the practice of receiving the Qur'an in the ruqyah process can help individuals who are obedient to Allah SWT to form.
