Abstract

Ki Hadjar Dewantara is a nationalist figure who express his thoughts in education field. Many of his thoughts reflect the existence of a humanist perspective that assume humans as important subjects. This study aims to analyze the humanistic values found in the art of learning at SMP Taman Adults Jetis, Yogyakarta. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis uses data reduction procedures, data presentation, and drawing conclusions (verification). The validity of the data used was a triangulation technique which included triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that there were humanistic values in the art of learning which included the following values: (1) solidarity; (2) tolerance; (3) freedom; (4) respect and love, and (5) justice and equality. Based on the results of the research, the researcher can provide suggestions as a material for consideration, so that SMP Taman Dewasa Jetis continued to improve discipline in implementing Ki Hadjar Dewantara's thought-based education, improve work skills for art teachers and students as well as develop teaching materials, methods, and media used.

Abstract

Abstract Pyramid House in Palembang is one of the works of art that is still very interesting to be researched today. The problem raised in this study aims to analyze the cultural message of the Pyramid House in Palembang. The method used is a qualitative method with a case study research design. The data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and document study. The results showed that in the manufacture of the Pyramid house, the main construction of traditional buildings used wood construction and a stilt system. The foundation used the construction of piles, the walls used boards, the roof used a leaf or shingle roof. The core parts consisted of the roof of the house, the door, the window, the stairs, and the floor of the house. In general, the typical architectural form of the Pyramid House, namely, the roof was shaped like a severed pyramid. Besides, the uniqueness of the house located in its multi-storey shape (kijing) and the walls were made of wood shaped like planks. Then related to the house name Pyramid, it contained two special meanings, namely, Five and Gold. The word five means the number five, while gold means the precious metal of great value. This is also a symbol of the function of the Pyramid house.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational values applied through the process of cultural antagonism to the "Svara Jiva" song of the Riau Rhythm group. This study used a qualitative method with an interdisciplinary approach to sociology and education. The data were collected by using observation, interview and document study techniques. The data analysis procedures used data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The validity of the data used is triangulation, data sources and theory. The results showed that in the "Svara Jiva" song there was a cultural antagonistic process, namely a form of conflict within a creative individual with the culture, it caused a new form of cultural product. In the process of cultural antagonism, several educational values were implemented. The educational values included; 1) Religious Values; (2) Pluralist Value; (3) Historical Value; (4) Value of Responsibility; (5) Value of Responsibility. The results of this study can be used as a reference regarding the study of educational values.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to explain and reveal how Grisness Culture musical works can compete in the music industry and its implications in arts education. This study uses an interdisciplinary approach with qualitative analytical methods. The research design used a case study and the focus of the research was on the ska music of the Grisness Culture group. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation study. The data validation used triangulation techniques with data analysis techniques by using interactive models. The results of this study are Grisness Culture was able to compete in the music industry with the capital they have, namely economic, cultural, social, and symbolic capital as well as marketing activities, namely the production of works, promotion, and distribution. Second, the activities carried out during the work to marketing process lead to artistic experiences through art activities, namely appreciation, creation and expression that can create arts education in a broader context in the music industry and have implications in the form of character values.

Abstract

Adat Ubud Village as one of the villages in Ubud District, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province, historically it has been known as the center of natural and cultural tourism in Bali. Particularly in the development of cultural tourism, it has become a source of the village income as well as between generations in community members. The cultural tourism in this matter is in the form of barong ket dance performances that are performed in various characters and staged at various stages spread across the area of Ubud. This study aims to examine the problem of how the process of cultivating the barong ket dance to the younger generation in preserving and developing traditional arts so that it becomes a source of income that has economic value. The strategy used in analyzing and examining this research problem uses an enculturation approach. The research results show that; 1) The enculturation of the Barong ket dance that has developed in Ubud was carried out by inheriting a dance style that has been created by its elders. 2) style that has been inherited then developed again through the process of enculturation to young generations. 3) the result of the consistent enculturation process could have implications for the existence of the art of barong ket dance as well as an attraction for tourists who were visiting to Ubud area.

Abstract

Bamboo flute music is a typical traditional music of Timor Tengah Utara (TTU). It was one of the most favourable traditional arts and shown at various events, such as religious events, local government events even as a welcoming music for the country guests. As the time goes by, the existence of bamboo flute music currently has been declined and it was because of various factors, one of it was the social and cultural changes of the community which influenced the development of bamboo flute music. The method used in this research was analytical qualitative method. The data collection techniques used observation, interview, and document study. The technique of data validity used sources triangulation. The data analysis in this research used social changes theory. Based on the results of this research, it can be found that the development of bamboo flute music is influenced by the changes in cultural elements which are the knowledge system that evolves over the time; the livelihood system that the majority of the community back then was as farmers and now turn into office employees; the technology system that is the current rapid development and advanced technology information which impacts on the technology effectiveness and eficiency towards the community life; as well as the art elements that continue to develop according to the needs and trend. This research expands the perspetive of the readers about the existence and influene of cultural elements changes towards the development of bamboo flute music in Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) Regency.

Abstract

Humanist education is related to Ki Hajar Dewantara who is referred to as the Father of education. It prioritizes the humanitarian aspect by maximizing the potential of individuals, it is free, open and unbound. Qaryah Thayyibah Learning Community (KBQT) is a learning community that uses the learning method of student freedom in determining interest.This study was conducted to analyze and describe the application of humanist education concepts to music learning in the Qoryah Thayyibah Learning Community.The method used was a qualitative analytical method. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation techniques, interviews and document studies. Data analysis techniques were carried out with learning theory and humanist educational concepts.The results of the research on the application of humanist education concepts in music education in KBQT were conducted in terms of students as curriculum makers, discussion model learning, Gelar Karya (GK), and Final Project.This research can expand the reader's perspective on the importance of the learning process in KBQT, as it teaches the compactness among students, students and mentors, and sense of responsibility of students to determine their plans, and to be worked on.

Abstract

The study has the aim of analyzing critically related to the implementation of the independent learning concept in cultural arts learning. The data collection techniques used in the study were observation, interviews, and document studies. The study used triangulation techniques to maintain the reliability of the data, through data triangulation, source triangulation, and method triangulation. The data analysis technique used in the study is text analysis in choreography context and analysis context in interactive form by following steps namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, formulating conclusions/ verification. The theoretical formula used in this study is Fisk's theory of the concept of independent learning. The results showed that Babalu Dance learning at SMP Negeri 3 Batang implemented the online freedom of learning concept by utilizing social media platforms namely Whatsapp and Zoom Meeting. The process of cultural arts learning online was reflected in; students could learn at different times and places, student learning was more individual, students had choices in determining how they learnt, the teachers applied project-based learning, the learning was more directed to field experiences, students were more interactive in processing data, teachers could make assessments variously, student involvement, and even though it was online the teacher continued to monitor students in every activity that was carried out.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain and reveal how the process of using musical elements is applied as an effort to foster creativity of the students in Foundation of Music class at Sekolah Musik Indonesia Semarang. This research used an interdisciplinary approach with qualitative analytical methods. The research design used a case study and the focus of the research was the Foundation of Music class at Sekolah Musik Indonesia Semarang. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation studies. Validation of data in this study used triangulation techniques and data analysis techniques used interactive models. The results of this study show that the first process of using musical elements in classroom learning of Foundation of Music is able to introduce elements of music (rhythm and melody) using the sequence/order of learning set at the Foundation of Music class and also by using play-based learning method and learning media in the form of musical instruments, puzzles music books, and paper notation used during the process learning takes place. Second, the activities carried out during the learning process lead to a creative process through the teacher's openness and its positive impact on the students (creative personality), integration of methods and diversity of learning activities (creative process), and verbal motivation (creativity press).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the shift of function in the context of art preservation and development on Brendung art perfomance in Sarwodadi community, Pemalang Regency. The research method used qualitative data and the research used a case study design. This research used both primary and secondary data sources and the data collection techniques used observation, interview, and document studies. The data analysis technique used interactive data analysis. Brendung is an art in Sarwodadi community, Pemalang and it is part of a performance, which shows a Brendung doll dance under the influence of spirits. The form of its performances have some changes in terms of a form of preservation effort, but it does not abandon the tradition or typical parts of Brendung art. Some preservation efforts of Brendung Art are done in order to maintain the existence of Brendung art itself so that it can still exist and is accepted by the society. The changes in the art are there but they do not abandon the old tradition. The shift of Brendung art performance in Sarwodadi community is as the effort so that the art will survive and does not disappear by the development of the era. It changes but it does not abandon the old tradition or the typical parts of Brendung art. Some preservation efforts of Brendung Art are done in order to maintain the existence of Brendung art itself so that it can still exist and is accepted by the society. The changes in the art are there but they do not abandon the old tradition. Brendung art was initially an art performance that functioned as a means of ritual and related to society and their belief, however, as the time goes by, it changes into an entertainment platform and aesthetic presence for its community.
