Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the principal's leadership strategy on the professional competence of teachers to improve the quality of education. This study also seeks to identify various obstacles faced in the professional competence of teachers as well as the professional competence of teachers that are suggested in the future in improving the quality of education. The object of this research is SMK Negeri 2 Semarang. While the subjects in this study are teachers, principals, and vice principals. The research method uses qualitative methods. The results of this research indicate that to improve the quality of education at SMKN 2 Semarang is divided into two strategic activities; The first is a formal strategy, namely teachers are assigned by institutions to attend education/training, either by the school itself or by educational/training institutions. The second is a non-formal strategy, namely the teacher for his desire and effort to train and develop himself related to his work or position such as discipline, discussion, and motivation. There are several obstacles faced in developing the professional competence of teachers to improve the quality of education at SMKN 2 Semarang, among others: the lack or limitation of IT mastery in schools and limited time, the lack of teacher creativity in the learning process in the classroom, and the lack of a collection of books or school facilities, and lack of scientific work made by the teacher.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate and analyze the academic information system using TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) theory. The most critical infrastructure facility to improve the quality of performance in educational institutions is education technology. Al Quran Terpadu Al Hamidiyah Junior High School has used this system as a model for school administration management. This research approach is quantitative, while data acquisition is made by distributing questionnaires to the required respondents. The data results were collected and then analyzed using descriptive analysis and path analysis with a path model. The results show that Regression Model 1, namely the variables perceived ease of use, usefulness, the behaviour of intention to use, attitude toward using and actual system to use, has the same conclusions. The systems supported by perceived ease of use are easy to learn, available to control, explicit to understand. The indicators of perceived usefulness are sped up work, performance improvement, increased productivity, effectiveness, make work easier and helpful. The variables attitude toward using with indicators are the convenience of using the system, people happy to use, enjoy for users and avoid the monotonous condition. The variables behaviour of intention to use with an indicator are the system has features that help and suit your needs, always try to use and continue in the future. The last is an existing system to use with indicator frequency and duration of use of the system and the actual use of technology in practice.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the management of character values ​​through the flagship program of religious-based schools in the city of Semarang. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique used is purposive sampling. The subjects of this study were the principals and teachers of SD QU Hanifah Semarang. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The data validity technique uses source triangulation and theoretical triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the management of character values ​cultivation through the flagship program of religion-based schools in the city of Semarang is running well, it can be seen from the types of program activities that have been carried out not out of the school's vision, mission and goals. The types of activity programs that have been determined are the flagship program of Tahfidz and the flagship program of Parenting Day. In the program component, there is the role of principals and teachers as implementers of program development activities to instill character values ​​in students in everyday life. The implication of this research is to provide an overview of the role of principals, teachers, and parents of students at school and at home in instilling good character values ​​to students in the process of implementing the superior program that has been determined.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe how management of Qur'an-based curriculum consisting of planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating at SD Qur'an Hanifah Semarang. The research design used is a qualitative case study with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The data used are primary and secondary data. Validity test of the data using source triangulation and data analysis using a flow model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification or drawing conclusions. The research subjects are the principal, vice principal of the curriculum section, educators and education staff. The results of this study indicate that SD Qur'an Hanifah has implemented a Qur'an-based curriculum management process through four stages, namely planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating. Curriculum management planning at SD Qur'an Hanifah is carried out through an annual initial meeting involving various stakeholders through school-level and grade-level planning. The implementation and organization of the curriculum is carried out by the principal and the curriculum staff through the division of tasks, workloads and observations of the ongoing learning process based on the Qur'an-based curriculum. The evaluation which is the final stage is carried out by the principal using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process and Product) model. Overall, SD Qur'an Hanifah has carried out the stages of curriculum management well, although there are still some shortcomings and obstacles.

Abstract

A curriculum is a set of guidelines created by educational institutions to achieve learning objectives. Therefore, there needs to be a management system that is usually called curriculum management. This study aims to analyze the management of the biological sciences curriculum during the outbreak of Covid-19. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach that focused on curriculum management activities: planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. The main data source is the vice principal of curriculum affair and Biology teachers. For the supporting data are the students of XI MIPA. The data collection techniques are gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation. Finally, the results show that the syllabus and lesson plan are carried out to formulate the curriculum in an emergency. They are supervised directly by the vice principal of curriculum affair: task sharing, arranging the biology teacher schedule, and determining the study load in organizing activities. The implementation activities will be seen how the implementation of the Biology curriculum, learning process, and supervision by the vice principal of curriculum affair and their team. There will be a meeting of the new school year period for the evaluation activities, a meeting of the midterm period, and a meeting of the semester. It can be concluded that the process of curriculum management of biological sciences in the outbreak has been running well, although some things need to be improved.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in the process of improving human resources (HR). Human resources are the factors that have the biggest role in achieving organizational goals effectively and efficiently. This research aims to determine the effect of principal's leadership and teacher commitment on teacher performance with organizational culture as the mediating variable for public high school teachers in Kudus Regency. The sampling technique used is proportionate random sampling with a total sample of 207 teachers taken from seven public schools in Kudus Regency. Data analysis employes path analysis with the help of AMOS 24.0 program. Questionnaire is used as the instrument of data collection. The results show that principal's leadership and teacher commitment directly affect organizational culture; principal's leadership and organizational culture affect teacher performance; teacher commitment does not affect teacher performance; and principal's leadership affects teacher commitment. As for the indirect effect, organizational culture is able to mediate the effect of principals' leadership on teacher performance, while organizational culture is not able to mediate the effect of teacher commitment on teacher performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of primary school principals in religious moderation in a multicultural society. The primary education is the initial basis for students to know the basics of the level of education that will be directed in the future. Semarang has a fairly high religious heterogeneity, requiring schools to highly respect the existing diversity. This study uses a qualitative research approach. The data sources in this study are primary data sources and secondary data sources. The sources of secondary data in this study are reference books that support this study. The data collection techniques use observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the role of elementary school principals in religious moderation included five indicators; those are conservator, innovator, transmitter, transformer, and organizer.

Abstract

School public relations is one of the school's management functions in the field of public relations. It is supposed to act as a bridge between the organization and its constituents, establishing communication and sustaining positive relationships. The purpose of this study is to examine the school's public relations program for the purpose of developing school branding. This study used a qualitative approach, employing a case study design with multiple sites. Principals, school public relations, and PPDB members are the main data sources. Techniques for data collection was observation, interviewing, and documentation. Data analysis is a technique that entails data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The result was: The public relations program activities of SMP IT Harapan Mulia Palembang are as follows: 1) develop school logos and uniforms, 2) develop taglines, 4) develop a charactersitic and outstanding program, and 6) pursue successes. Communication; 1) establish social media platforms such as facebook, whatsapp, youtube, and instagram; 2) establish corporate partnerships; 3) establish calendars; 4) establish press relations; and 5) organize family meetings. And the activities of the public relations program at SMP IT AL Furqon Palembang: 1) developed superior programs for full-day and boarding school programs, 2) created slogans for thinkers, dhikr experts, and endeavor experts. 3) Designing school logos and uniforms; 4) establishing special programs; and 5) recruiting qualified and competent educators. Additional communication includes the following: 1) leveraging social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp, and YouTube. 2) develop a school website; 3) form corporate relationships; 4) meeting with parents; and 5) meeting with the local community. It can be stated that the school public relations program is highly effective at developing school branding, even though various obstacles exist in its implementation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of principal leadership on teacher performance, the effect of professionalism on teacher performance, and the effect of principal leadership and teacher professionalism together on teacher performance. The population is all public elementary school teachers in SD Dabin III, Selomerto District, and the sample size is determined by the Krejcie table as many as 60 people. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Analysis of research results using descriptive statistics, and regression analysis. The results showed that the leadership of the principal, teacher professionalism, and teacher performance were in a good category. The results showed that there is a positive and significant effect of principal’s leadership on teacher performance, professionalism has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The results showed that there is a positive and significant joint influence of principal leadership and teacher professionalism on the performance of elementary school teachers. Based on this research, it is suggested that teacher performance needs to be improved and teachers must be aware that rights and obligations must be balanced. The professionalism has been well maintained and improved again considering it has a dominant influence on teacher performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating, and controlling Graduate Competency Standards in entrepreneurship education at PSKQ Modern Kudus by involving all teams in achieving the vision and mission of PSKQ Modern Kudus. This case study research uses a qualitative approach. The research subjects were the leaders of the PSKQ Modern Kudus, the chairman of the PSKQ Modern Kudus foundation, the teaching staff (ustadz/ustadzah), and students. Collecting data using interview, observation, and document study methods. The research data were analyzed using the interactive model approach of Miles and Huberman (2015). Researchers tested the credibility of the data through triangulation of sources and methods. The results showed that the implementation of planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating, and controlling Graduate Competency Standards in entrepreneurship education at PSKQ Modern Kudus is currently well implemented. Planning is carried out based on the guidelines used at the international level accompanied by modifications according to the circumstances in the PSKQ Modern Kudus. Organizations have been formed and implemented according to their respective roles. Commanding is carried out by the leadership to each member involved in the existing program by providing explanations and motivation. Coordination is carried out by leaders, teaching ustadz and students in learning and projects that are being carried out either directly or indirectly. While the control is by conducting a test and depositing the work of students regarding the calligraphy that has been done and studied.
