Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 or better known as COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It is known that this virus can attack the reproductive organs and cause changes in the menstrual cycle in the form of a longer menstrual cycle, heavier blood flow, longer duration and increased pain levels. This study aims to determine the relationship between positive history of COVID-19 and changes in menstrual patterns in women of childbearing age at Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu in 2022. The research design used was observational analytic with a retrospective approach. The research population was all female lecturers and students of the Bengkulu Ministry of Health Poltekkes, totaling 2696 people. The sample in this study was 155 people who were taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using chi square test. The results showed that 125 people (80.6%) had a positive history of COVID-19 and most people (54.2%) experienced changes in menstrual patterns. A total of 40 people (25.8%) experienced re-infection with COVID-19. Based on the results of the bivariate analysis using the chi square test, the p value = 0.000 (p-value < 0.05), it means that there is a significant effect for a positive history reinfection with changes in menstrual patterns at the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Bengkulu.

Abstract

Based on data from the Basic Health Research survey (Riskesdas, 2018), the index for children aged 36-59 months for the literacy aspect was 64.6%, physical 97.8%, social emotional 69.9%, learning aspect 95.2% and Indonesia's total development index in 2018 was 88.3% so that 11.7% of children aged 36-59 months experienced developmental disorders, where Bengkulu Province contributed to the prevalence of toddlers aged 36-59 months experiencing developmental disorders of 8.3%. The design of this study used Quasi-Experiment, taking samples using total sampling with a total sample of 40 people. This research method uses the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The results of the research showed that the average fine motor development score in the paper quilling group, the pre test score was from 8.40, increasing to 11.50 (post test score), with an average difference of 3.10, while in the playdough group the pre test score was 8. 60 increased by 10.60 (post test score) with an average difference of 2. The results of the Mann-Whitney test showed that the difference in the average pretest and posttest scores for the Paper Quilling group and the Playdough group was 0.9. This proves that providing paper quilling games can increase the average development score higher than playdough games.

Abstract

Background: Infant mortality remains high and is more common in the neonatal period. Causes of neonatal death include asphyxia, sepsis, infection and LBW(LBW) in preterm and term infants. One of the factors influencing the incidence of LBW is pre-eclampsia. This is because pre-eclampsia affects the utero-placental circulation so that it affects the delivery of nutrients to the fetus, resulting in fetal nutrient deprivation and intrauterine growth restriction. Objectives: This study aims to assess the relationship between pre-eclampsia and the incidence of LBW in the Mawar Room of Dr M. Yunus Bengkulu Hospital. Methods: This study used a case-control design. The sample was all babies born in M Yunus Hospital in the years 2019-2022.The case group were LBWbabies and the control group were normal birth weight babies. The total sample size was 128 with a ratio of 1:1. Samples were collected using purposive sampling with inclusion criteria of babies born alive with complete medical records. Data analysis in this study used univariate analysis to view frequency distribution, bivariate with chi-squared test and multivariate with logistic regression using SPPS software version 24. Results: The incidence of pre-eclampsia was 13.3%, 34% age at risk, parity 37.5% garande multipara, 4imipara and multipara and most (62.5%) had primary education 47.5%. There is an association of pre-eclampsia with the incidence of LBW. There is an association of age, parity and education with the incidence of LBW, but pre-eclampsia is the most dominant factor that is the most dominant risk variable that affects the incidence of LBW. Conclusions: There is an association between pre-eclampsia, age, parity and education with the incidence of LBW. Pre-eclampsia is the most dominant factor in the incidence of LBW.

Abstract

Stunted children at an early age have lower fluid intelligence. 48.6% of children aged 7-8 years have less cognitive ability. This study uses a case-control research design. The sample in this study included 113 case groups and 113 control groups. The independent variables in this study were maternal anemia, Choric Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women, pregnancy complications, maternal infection history, smoking habits, mother's height, age at pregnancy, mother's education, birth weight, birth length, gender of the baby, history of diarrheal infection, ARI, gestational age during pregnancy, birth gap, exclusive breastfeeding, weaning food, helminthiasis, child immunization, clean water, and family income. The dependent variable in this study is the incidence of stunting in children under five. The results showed that the variables related to stunting were maternal anemia, CED in pregnant women, mother's height, age at pregnancy, mother's education, birth weight, birth length, baby's gender, history of diarrheal infection, ARI, helminthiasis, and income. The analysis using the ROC obtained a confidence value of 8.5, which means very good, and the cut-off point that can be used in determining the risk of stunting is 8.5. It is necessary to socialize the use of stunting scoring cards to carry out early detection of toddlers to find out whether there is a risk of stunting so health workers can carry out proper assistance to apply the prevention efforts.

Abstract

Hypertension can be triggered by a secondary cause, namely the use of hormonal contraceptives. Hormonal contraceptives contain the hormones estrogen and progesterone, resulting in a hormonal imbalance that leads to hypertension. This research aims to know the relationship between the duration of use and the type of hormonal contraceptives that can be associated with the incidence of hypertension. In Indonesia, the most common use of contraception is hormonal contraception (85.7%), including 139,342 injections (56.8%), 64,569 pills (26.3%), and 14,901 implants (6%). It is known that 216 out of 766 (28.19%) women of childbearing age who use hormonal contraceptives in the Telaga Dewa Health Center working area suffer from hypertension. Cross-sectional research design with a sample of 369 women of childbearing age. The type of hormonal contraception used, age, and blood pressure were obtained by secondary means from the midwife's register book. At the same time, primary door-to-door accepted length of use, education, employment, and number of children. It was found that the size of the use of hormonal contraceptives >5 years significantly related to the incidence of hypertension (p-value 0.000) with OR 2.685. The result will show how the relation of duration use and type of hormonal contraceptives can be associated with the incidence of hypertension. However, all types of hormonal contraceptives were not significantly related to the incidence of hypertension (p-value 0.223). The conclusion of the research is that age, occupation, education, parity, and use of hormonal contraception can be causes of hypertension in women of childbearing age.
