Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of using digital-based snakes and ladders learning media in improving the basic writing skills of grade I students at SDN JULUK II. Writing is a fundamental skill that is critical to a child's academic progress, but often faces challenges, especially at the early grade level. The snakes and ladders game is one of the traditional games that is very popular with children and can be modified into learning media. Through digital adaptation, this game can be adapted to learning materials, including writing skills. Digital-based snakes and ladders media enables a learning experience that involves active interaction. Learners can learn to write while playing, which indirectly improves their motivation and writing skills. The method applied in this study was a quantitative approach with a quasi-experiment design of non-equivalent control group design, involving two groups: an experimental group that utilized digital media and a control group that applied conventional methods. The study showed a significant improvement in learners' writing skills, with 80.95% of learners achieving minimum completion after the treatment, compared to only 23.81% in the pretest. Research using simple linear regression indicated that the utilization of digital-based snakes and ladders learning media contributed positively to the improvement of writing skills. In conclusion, this media proved to be effective and can be recommended as an innovative learning tool to improve learners' beginning writing skills in primary schools

Abstract

The use of letter rotating wheel learning media is a strategy to increase the interest in learning to read of grade 2 students at SDN Pabian IV. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the media in helping students recognize letters and words, as well as increasing their engagement in the learning process. The method used in this research is qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, documentation and interviews. The results showed that 91% of students actively participated in activities using the letter rotating wheel media, indicating an increase in students' interest and engagement in learning to read. This media not only makes learning more interesting and interactive, but also supports multisensory learning that strengthens students' memory of the material. Despite challenges in preparation and time management, the use of the letter rotating wheel media proved effective in improving students' reading skills. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers integrate this media in Indonesian language learning to achieve better results.

Abstract

This article examines children's illustrated stories as a literary work that has the potential to instill character values in the midst of the condition of children who experience obstacles in processing information properly, building relationships between various information, analyzing information, evaluating, and concluding it. The character value in question is the value of the Pancasila student profile, especially in the critical reasoning dimension. This study aims to determine the value of the critical reasoning dimension contained in the illustrated story of a Madurese child "Atane Buja". The children's illustrated story "Atane Buja" by Baytil Qudsiyah is the main source of research data that can be accessed through the website of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology. The findings of the research, in the form of excerpts from the story of Atane Buja, are presented with a table. The results of this study show that the elements of acquiring and processing information and ideas, analyzing and evaluating reasoning, reflecting and evaluating their own thoughts are contained in the pictorial story of Atane Buja's child which can be adapted to events in students' lives. This children's illustrated story can be used as an effective learning medium in the formation and development of the character of elementary school students, especially in the critical reasoning aspect.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the role-playing method on students' learning outcomes in Civics Education (PPKn) at the elementary school level. The research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 25 students. Data collection was carried out by administering learning outcome tests before and after the implementation of the role-playing method. Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test to examine the differences in learning outcomes before and after the method was applied. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes after the implementation of the role-playing method. A total of 90% of the students showed an increase in scores above the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). This indicates that the role-playing method has a positive effect on students’ learning outcomes in Civics Education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teacher exemplarity in building students’ discipline character at the elementary school level, particularly at SDN Ellak Laok IV, Sumenep Regency. The background of this research stems from the low level of students’ discipline and responsibility in fulfilling their school obligations, including punctuality, neatness, and adherence to school rules. Teacher exemplarity is considered a key factor in character formation, as teachers serve as role models whose behavior is imitated by students. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, analyzing relevant literature and interview findings to gain a deeper understanding of the phenomenon. The results show that teacher exemplarity has a significant influence on the development of students’ discipline. Teachers at SDN Ellak Laok IV demonstrate discipline through punctuality, neat appearance, consistency in conducting learning activities, and fair implementation of reward and punishment systems. Furthermore, positive habits such as praying before class and maintaining politeness are effective means of instilling character values. Thus, teachers not only act as educators but also as moral role models who shape students’ personalities and behavior. This study highlights the importance of teacher exemplarity as a central strategy in fostering discipline and responsibility among elementary school students within the framework of character education
