Abstract

Start-ups increasingly operate within a landscape where technological innovation intersects with social responsibility, yet empirical understanding of how these ventures manage creative technologies for sustainable impact remains limited. This study addresses the critical gap in knowledge regarding the operationalization of ethical objectives within technology-driven entrepreneurial contexts. The research aims to investigate the strategies, organizational practices, and mechanisms through which socially-conscious start-ups leverage creative technologies to achieve measurable social and environmental outcomes. A qualitative multiple-case study design was employed, involving ten start-ups in the creative technology sector. Data collection comprised semi-structured interviews with founders and key team members, systematic observations of operational processes, and document analysis including mission statements and project reports. Thematic coding and triangulation were applied to identify patterns, relationships, and emergent strategies in aligning technological adoption with social objectives. Findings reveal that intentional integration of technology with organizational culture and resource allocation significantly enhances social impact, while collaborative team structures and iterative feedback mechanisms reinforce ethical operational practices. Variations across cases highlight the influence of managerial decision-making and sectoral context on effective implementation of social initiatives. Start-ups that align creative technologies with social conscience achieve both operational efficiency and sustainable societal benefit. The study concludes that responsible innovation is contingent upon deliberate strategic planning, technological competence, and ethical leadership, providing a framework for guiding future socially-conscious entrepreneurial endeavors.

Abstract

Local culture significantly influences customary practices within Muslim societies, shaping unique expressions of Islamic teachings across diverse regions. In Central Java, Indonesia, traditional practices are deeply intertwined with Islamic values, creating a distinctive cultural-religious identity. While these practices enrich local traditions, they also raise questions about the balance between cultural preservation and religious orthodoxy. This study aims to explore the influence of local culture on customary practices in Central Java’s Muslim communities, examining how cultural elements align with or diverge from Islamic principles. A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving in-depth interviews with community leaders, religious scholars, and practitioners of traditional customs in three rural areas. Observational data and document analysis of local texts and records supplemented the interviews, offering a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between culture and religion. The findings reveal that local culture plays a pivotal role in shaping religious practices, particularly in rites of passage, social ceremonies, and communal worship. These findings highlight the dynamic relationship between religion and culture, emphasizing adaptation and negotiation. The study concludes that cultural sensitivity and context-specific approaches are essential for understanding and preserving the diversity of Islamic expressions.

Abstract

This study explores the enduring and evolving influence of Sufism on Indonesian Islamic spirituality, examining its contemporary reinterpretation amidst modern challenges. Indonesian Islam has historically embraced mystical traditions, fostering a unique spiritual landscape distinct from more legalistic or fundamentalist expressions. Understanding this dynamic is crucial for appreciating the breadth of Islamic practice in the archipelago. The research aims to analyze how Sufi practices and philosophies are adapted and re-articulated by contemporary Indonesian Muslims, identifying the motivations behind this reinterpretation and its impact on individual and communal spirituality. Employing a qualitative research design, this study utilizes in-depth interviews with 25 Sufi practitioners, scholars, and community leaders across Java and Sumatra. Observational data from Sufi tariqa gatherings and contemporary spiritual forums further enriched the findings. Thematic analysis was used to identify recurring patterns and interpretations. Results indicate a significant re-engagement with Sufism, driven by a search for inner peace, spiritual authenticity, and a moderate alternative to rigid interpretations of Islam. The study found that Sufism continues to be a vital source of spiritual resilience and ethical guidance. In conclusion, Sufism remains a powerful force in Indonesian Islamic spirituality, offering a dynamic and adaptable framework for contemporary religious life. Its reinterpretation underscores its enduring relevance in cultivating a compassionate and tolerant Muslim identity.

Abstract

Maqasid Sharia, which refers to the objectives of Islamic law, plays a central role in ensuring that Sharia financial institutions operate in alignment with Islamic principles. These objectives include preserving faith, life, intellect, progeny, and wealth. While Sharia compliance is a cornerstone of Islamic finance, the extent to which Maqasid Sharia influences the financial performance of Sharia financial institutions remains underexplored. Understanding this relationship is critical for enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of Islamic financial institutions. This study aims to examine the influence of Maqasid Sharia on the financial performance of Sharia financial institutions, providing insights into how adherence to Islamic principles can drive financial success. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing data from 50 Sharia financial institutions in Indonesia. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between Maqasid Sharia compliance and financial performance indicators, such as return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE). The findings reveal that higher levels of Maqasid Sharia compliance significantly improve financial performance, with institutions demonstrating strong adherence to Islamic principles reporting higher ROA and ROE. The preservation of wealth and faith emerged as the most influential dimensions of Maqasid Sharia in driving financial success. This study highlights the importance of Maqasid Sharia in enhancing the financial performance of Sharia financial institutions. The results suggest that institutions should prioritize adherence to Islamic principles to achieve sustainable growth and maintain competitiveness in the financial sector.

Abstract

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into education has opened new possibilities for personalized learning, yet emotional engagement remains an underdeveloped dimension in hybrid learning environments. Traditional AI tutoring systems primarily focus on cognitive adaptation, often neglecting the affective aspects that influence student motivation, attention, and persistence. This study explores the use of affective computing to develop emotion-aware virtual tutors capable of recognizing and responding to learners’ emotional states in real time. The research aims to design and evaluate a hybrid AI tutoring model that integrates facial expression recognition, voice sentiment analysis, and physiological data interpretation to deliver adaptive emotional feedback. The study employed a mixed-method approach combining system prototyping, experimental testing, and learner experience evaluation. Data were collected from 120 middle and university students engaged in hybrid science courses, using emotion-recognition accuracy rates, engagement indices, and qualitative interviews as core evaluation metrics. Results showed that the emotion-aware tutor achieved an average recognition accuracy of 91.2% and improved learner engagement by 34% compared to traditional AI tutors. Students reported higher satisfaction and felt more connected to the virtual tutor, indicating that emotional responsiveness enhanced trust and motivation. The findings demonstrate that affective AI systems can humanize digital learning interactions, providing affect-sensitive feedback that complements cognitive personalization. Future research should explore ethical frameworks for emotion data privacy and expand cross-cultural models of emotional intelligence in AI tutoring.

Abstract

Growing adoption of hybrid learning has accelerated the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to deliver personalized educational experiences that accommodate diverse learner characteristics, enhance instructional effectiveness, and support data-informed pedagogical decisions. Increasing reliance on AI-driven personalization has simultaneously introduced concerns regarding algorithmic transparency, learner autonomy, data privacy, and educational equity, creating a need for balanced evaluation of its educational potential and associated risks. This study aimed to examine the opportunities, risks, and pedagogical implications of AI-driven personalization within hybrid learning environments. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed, combining quantitative analysis of learning analytics and academic performance with qualitative investigation through interviews, classroom observations, and reflective journals. Participants included undergraduate students and lecturers engaged in AI-supported hybrid learning across multiple disciplines. Findings revealed that AI-driven personalization significantly improved academic achievement, learner engagement, self-regulated learning, learning satisfaction, and course completion while maintaining high recommendation accuracy and adaptive instructional responsiveness. Qualitative evidence further demonstrated that effective implementation depended on meaningful teacher facilitation, transparent algorithmic support, and responsible institutional governance addressing privacy and ethical concerns. Results indicate that Artificial Intelligence enhances hybrid learning most effectively when functioning as a pedagogical partner rather than a replacement for educators. Balanced integration of adaptive technologies, human expertise, ethical governance, and learner-centered instructional design provides a sustainable framework for responsible educational innovation and long-term digital transformation.

Abstract

Palliative care has undergone significant transformation as global health systems respond to increasing rates of chronic and life-limiting illnesses. Persistent challenges in pain management, symptom control, and psychosocial support highlight the need for evidence-based innovations that enhance patient quality of life. This study aims to examine emerging evidence-based approaches in palliative pain management and evaluate their impact on improving holistic well-being for patients receiving palliative care. A systematic review methodology was employed, synthesizing findings from clinical trials, observational studies, and multidisciplinary intervention reports published over the past decade. The results indicate that multimodal pain management strategies combining pharmacological optimization, non-pharmacological therapies, and digital monitoring technologies significantly reduce pain severity and enhance patient comfort. The evidence further demonstrates that integrative interventions, such as mindfulness-based therapies, personalized care planning, and family-centered support models, contribute meaningfully to psychological resilience and perceived quality of life. The study concludes that evidence-based innovations in palliative care provide measurable benefits across physical, emotional, and social dimensions, underscoring the importance of adopting interdisciplinary and patient-centered approaches.

Abstract

Background. Cybersecurity is a critical global issue driven by increasing reliance on digital technology, which heightens vulnerabilities to data breaches and cyber threats. Public-private partnerships (PPPs) play a key role in strengthening cyber law enforcement, but challenges like regulatory gaps and differing priorities demand systematic collaboration to optimize their effectiveness. Purpose. This research aims to assess the role of public-private partnerships (PPP) in strengthening cyber law enforcement in various legal systems. Method. This research uses an approach Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to identify, analyze and synthesize various studies relevant to the topic of cyber law enforcement and the role of public-private partnerships (PPP) in that context. Results. The research highlights key themes including the effectiveness of PPPs in improving cybersecurity, barriers to their implementation due to regulatory and interest conflicts, regional differences in success rates influenced by legal systems, and the role of PPPs in fostering collaborative innovation and law enforcement, alongside recommendations for strengthening legal frameworks and addressing gaps in empirical data. Conclusion. This research highlights the critical role of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in cyber law enforcement, emphasizing that transparency, trust, and shared commitment are key factors influencing their effectiveness.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of smart farming systems has intensified the need for reliable wireless communication infrastructures capable of supporting Internet of Things (IoT) applications in heterogeneous agricultural environments. Ensuring stable connectivity in rural areas characterized by large coverage demands, energy constraints, and environmental interference remains a critical challenge. This study aims to evaluate wireless communication technologies and identify optimal configurations that enable reliable IoT-based smart farming operations. A mixed-method research design integrating large-scale field experiments and simulation-based scalability analysis was employed to assess LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and 5G IoT modules. Reliability was measured using packet delivery ratio, latency, coverage range, scalability, and energy consumption indicators. Results indicate that no single technology achieves optimal performance across all reliability dimensions. LPWAN technologies demonstrated superior energy efficiency and wide-area coverage, while 5G achieved the lowest latency and highest throughput. Hybrid communication architectures consistently outperformed single-technology deployments, improving packet delivery ratio and operational resilience under varying environmental conditions. The study concludes that context-aware integration of complementary wireless technologies provides the most reliable and sustainable solution for smart farming IoT ecosystems.

Abstract

High-temperature ceramic superconductors offer promising pathways for future energy storage because their near-zero electrical resistance and strong magnetic behavior may support efficient high-current applications. This study aimed to compare superconducting phenomena in YBCO, Bi-2212, and Bi-2223 ceramics and evaluate their material-level relevance to prospective superconducting magnetic energy storage systems. A comparative laboratory-based experimental design was employed using structural characterization, scanning electron microscopy, four-probe resistivity measurements, magnetic analysis, critical current evaluation, thermal cycling, and field-dependent testing. The results showed that Bi-2223 achieved the highest superconducting onset temperature, whereas YBCO exhibited the strongest overall functional profile through a narrower transition width, higher critical current density, stronger magnetic shielding, and more stable current transport. Bi-2212 demonstrated reproducible superconductivity but showed comparatively weaker grain connectivity and lower current-carrying performance. Correlation analysis further indicated that phase purity, grain connectivity, and flux-pinning behavior were strongly associated with superconducting performance. The study concludes that critical temperature alone is insufficient for assessing energy-storage suitability. A multidimensional evaluation integrating thermal, electrical, magnetic, and microstructural properties provides a more reliable basis for identifying promising superconducting materials for future storage technologies while highlighting the need for conductor-scale and device-level validation under realistic cryogenic, mechanical, and high-field operating conditions over extended cycles.
