Abstract

Kota Pariaman menghadapi persoalan sampah yang ditandai oleh ketergantungan pada TPA Tungkal Selatan, belum optimalnya pemilahan dari sumber, dan lemahnya kelembagaan bank sampah. RPJMD Kota Pariaman 2025-2029 mencatat timbulan sampah tahun 2024 sebesar 41,11 ton per hari, Pusat Daur Ulang, bank sampah, dan TPS3R belum beroperasi optimal, serta 74,43% sampah masih terangkut ke TPA dengan pola kumpul-angkut-buang. Artikel ini bertujuan menyempurnakan model BASAKO, yaitu Bank Sampah Jadi Pusako, sebagai solusi pengabdian masyarakat berbasis ekonomi sirkular dan kearifan lokal. Metode yang digunakan adalah partisipatif-edukatif melalui analisis situasi, pelatihan pemilahan, simulasi tabungan sampah, penguatan kelembagaan, dan perumusan model operasional. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dari Kota Padang, yang menghasilkan sekitar 660 ton sampah per hari, menegaskan pentingnya pemilahan, pengolahan organik, jejaring pasar, dan monitoring. BASAKO menawarkan lima solusi: Pilah Pusako, Tabungan BASAKO, Olah Organik, Jejaring Pusako, dan Dashboard BASAKO untuk mengurangi beban TPA dan mendukung Pariaman Blue Green City.

Abstract

Agriculture plays a crucial role in meeting food needs and improving the well-being of communities. However, challenges to the sustainability and productivity of agriculture are on the rise. Dependency on chemical fertilizers and synthetic pesticides has had negative environmental impacts. Eco enzymes, as an innovative organic fertilizer, offer a sustainable solution. Eco enzymes enhance soil productivity and quality while reducing reliance on synthetic chemicals. This project was conducted in Nagari Lasi, Canduang District, Agam Regency, from October 2022 to May 2023. The method involved the participation of farmers and the local community in every stage of the project to facilitate knowledge transfer and broader adoption of the innovation. The results of this project introduced the innovation to farmers and the community through various demonstration activities. The aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of sustainable agriculture revitalization through eco enzymes. Eco enzymes for agriculture can improve nutrient absorption efficiency by plants, reduce environmental pollution potential, and enhance soil quality. A significant increase in rice production was observed when comparing production with and without eco enzymes. The conclusion drawn from this project is that eco enzymes are an innovative organic fertilizer that enhances agricultural productivity, soil quality, and reduces reliance on synthetic chemicals sustainably. Recommendations for future work include evaluating eco enzyme compositions, studying fermentation environmental impacts, assessing soil quality impacts, production efficiency, conducting economic studies, and fostering institutional collaboration.

Abstract

This community service activity takes the form of clinical coaching on agricultural waste management in raising goats/cattle which aims to transfer knowledge and improve skills regarding the management of agricultural waste processing such as rice straw as an alternative feed ingredient and the rice straw ammonization process. This activity also aims to increase public knowledge about management of the maintenance and processing of agricultural waste in the form of ammoniated rice straw, so that it can overcome difficulties in procuring animal feed. The method used in the coaching clinic is guidance on waste management using science and technology as well as practice or demonstration of making straw ammonia. This activity was carried out through several stages, namely socialization & coaching clinic about goat/cattle farming, animal feed ingredients and making straw ammonization. This activity received a very positive and enthusiastic response from members and succeeded in providing an understanding of solutions to feed difficulties in the dry season. Apart from that, the ammoniated rice straw that had been produced was tried to be given to livestock and the results were very clearly liked by cattle. This shows that ammoniated straw is preferred by cattle because the nutritional content of rice straw that has been processed using the ammonia process can be used as an alternative feed. The raw material for rice straw is easy to obtain in West Bungus Village, Teluk Kabung Subdistrict, so that every farmer can carry out rice straw ammonia processing using simple technology with optimal results.
