Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of firm-created communication and user-generated communication on purchase intention through halal brand among halal product consumers in East Java. A quantitative survey design was employed in this research. The population consisted of halal product consumers in East Java Province, and purposive sampling was applied based on halal consumption experience criteria. A total of 500 eligible respondents were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that firm-created communication and user-generated communication have positive and significant effects on halal brand and purchase intention. Halal brand also positively affects purchase intention and mediates the effects of both communication variables on purchase intention. Practically, these findings highlight the importance of transparent and credible halal communication strategies and digital consumer engagement in strengthening halal brand perception and enhancing consumer purchase intention. Theoretically, this study extends the Theory of Planned Behavior by integrating the perspective of halal consumption behavior, positioning halal brand as a religious trust mechanism in shaping purchase intention. The novelty of this study lies in developing an integrated model that simultaneously examines firm and consumer communication effects on purchase intention through halal brand within the Islamic economics context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of marketing mix strategies (product, price, promotion, place), examine their influence on business performance, and identify their role in the development of SMEs, specifically Priti's Batik and Batik Sekar Arum in Jember Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach using thematic analysis method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving business owners as key informants. The results show that the marketing mix strategy implementation in both SMEs has been conducted but is not yet optimal. In terms of product, both businesses have strengths in quality and distinctive local motifs; however, innovation and brand identity development remain limited. Regarding pricing, strategies are primarily cost-based and adjusted to product quality. In promotion, digital media utilization is still not maximized, with marketing activities largely relying on direct selling and personal networks. In distribution, both SMEs mainly utilize direct channels with limited market reach. The marketing mix strategy significantly influences SME performance, particularly in increasing sales, expanding market reach, and strengthening customer relationships. The integrated marketing mix implementation also supports business development through product innovation, digital marketing utilization, and distribution channel expansion. This research is expected to serve as a reference for SME practitioners in formulating more effective marketing strategies. This study contributes by providing empirical insights into the application of marketing mix strategies in batik SMEs and their impact on business performance and development. It is expected to serve as a reference for SME practitioners in formulating more effective marketing strategies and for future researchers in expanding studies on SME marketing.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of burnout and compensation on the job performance of personnel in the Surabaya Regional Police, with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. Using an explanatory research design and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), data were analyzed from 84 respondents selected from a population of 518 officers using the Slovin formula. The findings reveal that lower levels of burnout and higher compensation significantly improve job performance, both directly and indirectly through increased job satisfaction. Specifically, reduced burnout enhances job satisfaction, which in turn boosts performance, while higher compensation not only increases satisfaction but also strengthens organizational citizenship behavior, further contributing to better performance. These results highlight the importance of addressing employee well-being and fair compensation in law enforcement organizations to enhance satisfaction and operational effectiveness. This research provides practical insights for human resource management in public security sectors aiming to improve workforce productivity and morale.

Abstract

The housing industry in Jember Regency is experiencing a rapid urbanization phenomenon with a backlog of millions of units, where PT Kinansyah Group has managed to dominate the market through adaptive marketing expansion that combines the 7P Marketing Mix strategy with the local cultural values of Pendalungan. This phenomenon of Local Resonance can be seen from the transformation of housing from a physical commodity to a symbol of social status and emotional security, supported by high-tech digitalization but still maintaining a high-touch personal touch typical of Java-Madura friendship. This study analyzes the phenomenology of PT Kinansyah Group's product marketing expansion in Jember Regency through the 7P Marketing Mix approach contextualized with Service Dominant Logic (SDL). Using a qualitative phenomenological method with in-depth interviews, observations, and data triangulation on management informants and consumers, it was found that the success of the expansion was based on Local Resonance through the privatization of the 7P: Product as a status symbol, Flexible price empathy, Place vision of the future, Promotion of relational getok contagion, People seduluran, Process seamless humanist, and Physical Evidence of early legitimacy. The main phenomena include Territorial Psychology, High-Touch High-Tech, Symbolic Materials, and Resilience Adaptation, forming an ecosystem of trust that transforms housing into emotional-social value, so that this strategy dominates the Jember local market through Local Market Mastery with recommendations for digitization of processes and stakeholder collaboration

This study aims to examine the influence of work discipline and job training on the work performance of employees of the Prokopim Section of the Jember Regency Secretariat with job satisfaction as an intervening variable. The problem raised is the extent to which discipline and job training can improve work performance directly or indirectly through employee job satisfaction. The research method used was quantitative with data collection through questionnaires and data analysis using path regression to test variable relationships. The results of the study show that work discipline and job training each have a positive and significant effect on work performance. In addition, both also have a significant effect on job satisfaction, which in turn becomes a mediating variable in strengthening the influence of these two variables on work performance. In other words, job satisfaction strengthens the positive impact of discipline and training on improving the work performance of Prokopim employees. The conclusion of the study emphasizes the importance of developing work discipline and continuous training, accompanied by efforts to increase job satisfaction as the main strategy in optimizing employee achievement. The implications of this research encourage Prokopim management to focus on improving the quality of training and the implementation of effective work discipline to create productive and motivated employees.
