Abstract

Sustainable rice production in tropical ecosystems is constrained by low nitrogen-use efficiency, nutrient losses, declining soil quality, and increasing dependence on conventional fertilizers. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of nano-nitrogen fertilizer on soil health, nitrogen efficiency, and rice productivity under tropical field conditions. A randomized complete block design was implemented with six treatments: no nitrogen, 100% conventional urea, and nano-nitrogen fertilizer applied at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the recommended nitrogen rate, each replicated four times. Crop growth, chlorophyll content, nitrogen uptake, yield components, grain yield, agronomic efficiency, and selected physical, chemical, and biological soil indicators were analyzed using analysis of variance, post hoc comparisons, correlation, and regression. Results showed that the 75% nano-nitrogen treatment produced the highest grain yield, reaching 7.24 t ha?1, and exceeded full-rate conventional urea while improving productive tillers, chlorophyll status, nitrogen uptake, microbial biomass, urease activity, organic carbon, and aggregate stability. The 100% nano-nitrogen rate increased nitrogen uptake but provided no additional yield advantage, indicating a nonlinear response. The study concludes that optimized nano-nitrogen application can reduce fertilizer demand while improving rice productivity and soil functioning, although multi-season environmental and safety assessments remain necessary before widespread adoption across diverse tropical production environments.

Abstract

Post-operative care is critical for ensuring optimal recovery, preventing complications, and reducing hospital readmission rates. Traditional follow up methods often face limitations, including geographic barriers, limited access to healthcare providers, and resource constraints, which can compromise patient outcomes. Tele-nursing offers a promising solution by delivering remote monitoring, education, and guidance, thereby enhancing accessibility and supporting continuity of care. This study investigates the effectiveness of tele-nursing interventions in post-operative care, focusing on patient outcomes, adherence to care protocols, and readmission rates. A mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating quantitative analysis of clinical metrics and readmission data with qualitative assessments of patient and nurse experiences. Data were collected from 180 post-operative patients across multiple surgical departments who received tele-nursing support over a 90 day period. Results indicated that tele-nursing significantly reduced 30 day readmission rates, improved adherence to post-operative care instructions, and increased patient satisfaction. Nurses reported enhanced ability to monitor patient recovery, provide timely interventions, and offer personalized education remotely. The study concludes that tele-nursing is an effective strategy to expand access to post-operative care, improve patient outcomes, and reduce healthcare system burden.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of telemedicine has revolutionized healthcare delivery, particularly in rural areas where access to healthcare services is often limited. This study explores the impact of telemedicine on improving healthcare access in rural communities, aiming to evaluate how virtual healthcare platforms can overcome geographical barriers and enhance patient outcomes. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with healthcare professionals and patients in rural settings, along with quantitative surveys to assess healthcare accessibility, satisfaction, and perceived effectiveness. The findings reveal that telemedicine significantly improves access to healthcare by reducing travel time, minimizing wait times for appointments, and offering continuous care, which is crucial for managing chronic conditions. Furthermore, patients expressed high satisfaction with the convenience and affordability of virtual consultations. However, challenges such as limited internet connectivity, technological literacy, and concerns about the quality of care were noted. In conclusion, telemedicine holds great potential in expanding healthcare access in rural communities, but it requires tailored strategies to address infrastructure gaps and ensure equitable access to all individuals. Future research should focus on the long-term outcomes and scalability of telemedicine initiatives in diverse rural settings.

Abstract

because substantial genetic heterogeneity, dynamic tumor evolution, and variable treatment responses limit the effectiveness of standardized clinical protocols. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of Digital Twins for cancer therapy simulation and to examine their contribution to genetic-based medical personalization and clinical decision support. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed involving 480 patients treated at tertiary oncology centers. Quantitative analyses included descriptive statistics, structural equation modeling, survival analysis, mediation and moderation analyses, whereas qualitative evidence was obtained through semi-structured interviews, clinical observations, multidisciplinary case reviews, and document analysis. Findings demonstrated that Digital Twin-assisted treatment planning significantly improved simulation accuracy, treatment response prediction, therapeutic precision, physician decision confidence, and multidisciplinary coordination while reducing anticipated adverse treatment events. Results indicate that Digital Twin technology provides a comprehensive precision oncology framework by integrating computational intelligence, genomic medicine, and real-time clinical information to optimize individualized cancer therapy, improve evidence-based decision-making, and enhance long-term patient outcomes while supporting the broader implementation of personalized medicine.

Abstract

Background. Smallholder cocoa farmers in Central Sulawesi continue to face persistent challenges related to low product quality, weak post-harvest management, and limited value addition, which collectively reduce their competitiveness in both domestic and international markets. One critical bottleneck lies in inadequate fermentation and processing practices at the cooperative level. Purpose. This study aims to empower farmer cooperatives through sustainable cocoa fermentation and processing training to improve product quality, institutional capacity, and farmers’ economic resilience. Method. The research employed a participatory action research approach, integrating training workshops, hands-on demonstrations, mentoring, and pre–post evaluations involving members of selected farmer cooperatives. Data were collected through observations, interviews, focus group discussions, and quality assessment of fermented cocoa beans. Results. The results indicate significant improvements in farmers’ knowledge and skills related to standardized fermentation techniques, hygiene, and post-harvest handling. Cooperatives demonstrated enhanced consistency in fermentation quality, improved bean aroma and appearance, and increased awareness of sustainability principles. Moreover, institutional strengthening was observed through better collective management and decision-making within cooperatives. Conclusion. In conclusion, sustainable fermentation and processing training effectively empowers farmer cooperatives by improving cocoa quality and reinforcing cooperative capacity, thereby contributing to higher market value and long-term livelihood sustainability for cocoa farmers in Central Sulawesi.

Abstract

Background. The increasing integration of digital storytelling in English as a Second Language (ESL) education highlights its potential not only for linguistic development but also for emotional expression among learners. Purpose. This study investigates how digital narratives created by Thai ESL students function as emotional scaffolds in language learning environments. The research aims to explore the affective dimensions of student-generated digital stories, specifically how these narratives foster emotional engagement, self-expression, and learner identity in the ESL classroom. Method. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and content analysis of student projects. Results. Findings indicate that digital storytelling enabled students to externalize personal experiences, reduce language anxiety, and build emotional connections with the learning content. Furthermore, the process encouraged collaborative dialogue and empathy among peers. Conclusion. The study concludes that digital narratives serve as both pedagogical and emotional tools, bridging language skills with psychological well-being. Implications suggest that ESL educators should intentionally design digital storytelling tasks to support students' emotional development alongside language proficiency.

Abstract

Background. The increasing globalization of education has resulted in more diverse, multilingual classrooms, highlighting the need for intercultural competence alongside language proficiency. Translanguaging, a practice where learners utilize their entire linguistic repertoire to communicate, offers a potential framework for fostering this competence. With the rise of digital tools, the practice of digital translanguaging has emerged, enabling students to navigate and interact across multiple languages using technology. Purpose. This study investigates how digital translanguaging, facilitated by technology, can foster intercultural competence in multilingual educational settings. It aims to explore the impact of digital tools in promoting both language proficiency and cultural awareness, providing students with the skills to communicate. Method. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining pre- and post-test surveys to measure language proficiency and intercultural competence, alongside qualitative interviews and focus groups to explore students' experiences with digital translanguaging tools. Results. The findings indicate significant improvements in both language proficiency (23% increase) and intercultural competence (24% increase) in the experimental group using digital translanguaging tools. Students reported enhanced engagement and a deeper understanding of cultural diversity. Conclusion. Digital translanguaging tools effectively enhance both language learning and intercultural competence, suggesting that technology can play a pivotal role in multilingual education.

Abstract

Background. The integration of digital storytelling in inclusive education offers new possibilities for amplifying the voices and experiences of students with special needs. This study investigates how digital storytelling functions as a medium of expression, participation, and empowerment in inclusive classroom environments. Purpose. The research aims to explore how students with diverse learning abilities use digital narratives to communicate their perspectives, develop self-confidence, and engage collaboratively with peers. Method. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving 20 students with special needs and 5 inclusive education teachers across three schools. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and analysis of student-created digital stories. Results. Thematic analysis revealed that digital storytelling enhanced students’ sense of agency and belonging by enabling them to represent their identities through multimodal expression combining voice, images, and text. Teachers reported that storytelling projects fostered empathy, cooperation, and deeper understanding among all students. Conclusion. The study concludes that digital storytelling provides an inclusive pedagogical approach that bridges cognitive, emotional, and social learning, promoting equitable participation and self-advocacy for students with special needs in mainstream education.

Abstract

Background. Narrative-based assessment has emerged as an alternative approach to traditional evaluation practices that often prioritize standardized outcomes over learning processes. Conventional assessments provide limited insight into how students develop understanding and regulate their thinking. Student narratives, in contrast, offer rich representations of learning experiences and reflective engagement, yet their systematic use for measuring learning progress and metacognition remains underexplored. Purpose. This study aims to examine how narrative-based assessment using student stories can be utilized to measure learning progress and metacognitive development. The research seeks to identify narrative features that indicate cognitive growth, reflective depth, and self-regulatory awareness in learning contexts. Method. A qualitative descriptive research design with a longitudinal narrative approach was employed. Participants were students engaged in reflective learning activities selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through student narratives, reflective prompts, and learning artifacts, and analyzed using thematic, structural, and linguistic analysis to identify indicators of learning progress and metacognition. Results. Findings indicate that repeated narrative engagement leads to increased metacognitive awareness, strategy articulation, and evaluative reflection. Student stories demonstrated progressive development from descriptive accounts toward coherent and self-regulated learning narratives. Case analysis further illustrated individual learning transformation through narrative expression. Conclusion. Narrative-based assessment is effective for capturing learning progress and metacognition as dynamic and developmental processes. The novelty of this study lies in operationalizing student narratives as systematic assessment evidence, positioning storytelling as a valid and inclusive approach for measuring learning development.

Abstract

Background. (The increasing adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) within legal systems has significantly transformed how legal decisions are supported, formulated, and justified. AI-driven tools are now used in areas such as risk assessment, case prioritization, sentencing support, and legal analytics, raising fundamental ethical and practical concerns regarding transparency, fairness, and accountability. Purpose. This study aims to examine the impact of AI on legal decision-making processes by analyzing both its operational benefits and its ethical implications within contemporary legal institutions. Method. The research employs a qualitative–analytical design that integrates doctrinal legal analysis, ethical evaluation, and empirical examination of documented AI-assisted legal practices. Data were collected from secondary legal sources, policy documents, case studies, and expert analyses to identify patterns of AI influence on judicial reasoning and institutional behavior. Results. The findings reveal that AI-assisted decision-making enhances procedural efficiency and consistency, particularly in high-volume legal contexts, but simultaneously introduces challenges related to opacity, automation bias, and diminished explainability.   Conclusion. The study concludes that AI functions as a powerful decision-support instrument that reshapes legal reasoning while remaining dependent on human oversight for legitimacy and justice. Effective integration of AI in legal decision-making requires robust ethical frameworks, transparent governance mechanisms, and sustained human responsibility to ensure that technological advancement supports, rather than undermines, fundamental legal values.
