Abstract

This study examined the effects of principal leadership and teacher performance on elementary students' academic readiness for junior secondary school as a basis for strengthening learning- and career-related school counseling. Academic readiness was represented by learning achievement. This quantitative ex post facto study used proportional random sampling. Data were collected through principal leadership and teacher performance questionnaires and report-card documentation, then analyzed using multiple linear regression. Principal leadership significantly affected academic readiness (t = 3.143; p = 0.002), as did teacher performance (t = 4.847; p < 0.001). Both variables jointly had a significant effect (F = 36.728; p < 0.001) and explained 46.8% of the variance. The findings highlight the importance of school leadership, teacher performance, and collaboration with school counselors in data-informed transition guidance.

Abstract

Abstract Teachers are the spearhead of the success of the education process in schools, so that in carrying out their duties, teachers are required to have complete and adequate competence. The mandatory competencies that a teacher must have to support their performance are pedagogic competence and professional competence. This study aims to analyze whether or not there is a relationship between pedagogic competence and professional competence with teacher performance. This research was conducted on elementary school teachers in Secang District, Magelang Regency with a population of 239 teachers. The sample used is the total population of 239 teachers. The independent variable in this study is pedagogic competence and professional competence, while the dependent variable is teacher performance. The measurement of the variables was carried out using a Likert scale. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS 22 software. From the regression coefficient values ​​for pedagogic competence and professional competence, multiple linear regression equations can be made as follows Y=26.185+0.350(X1)+0.549(X2)+e. Based on the results of the t-test, it was found that there is a relationship between pedagogic competence and teacher performance with a significance value of pedagogic competence variable of 0.000 < 0.05, there is a relationship between professional competence and teacher performance with a significance value of professional competence variable of 0.000 < 0.05. Based on the results of the F test, it was found that there was a relationship between pedagogic competence and professional competence together with the performance of elementary school teachers in Secang District, Magelang Regency with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 for the F test. The value of the coefficient of determination (R2) in this study was 45.2%, while the remaining 54.8% was influenced by other factors outside of this study. Abstract

Students’ mathematical visual-spatial ability is a key component in understanding geometry, and students need to master this skill. However, the level of students' mathematical visual-spatial ability is less than optimal, so quality learning is necessary. The purpose of this study was to test the quality of the Geogebra-assisted 6E-Instructional Model (6E-IM) on students' spatial visual ability; test the effect of Geogebra-assisted 6E-IM on spatial visual ability; and describe students' spatial visual ability after receiving the Geogebra-assisted 6E-IM model. This study used an embedded design. The independent variable in this study was the Geogebra-assisted 6E-IM, and the dependent variable was spatial visual ability. The variables of the 6E-IM learning model assisted by Geogebra were measured using interviews, while visual spatial abilities were measured using questionnaires. The results showed that the geometry learning instrument with the 6E-IM learning model assisted by Geogebra was in the very good category with a score of 92%. The 6E-IM learning model assisted by Geogebra had a positive effect on students' visual spatial abilities.. Description of students' spatial visual ability involving 2 students in each category, in the high category, met all indicators of spatial visual ability; students with moderate spatial visual ability met two indicators of spatial visual ability; and students with low spatial visual ability met one indicator of spatial visual ability. The results of this study are expected to be Geogebra integrated 6E-IM Design can be used by teachers to improve students' visual spatial abilities.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving skills are an essential competency for vocational school students because they relate to the demands of the world of work that require analysis, reasoning, and proper decision-making. However, the results of observations show that students' problem-solving skills are still low, so a study of the factors that affect them is needed. This study aims to analyze the influence of mathematical connection skills and critical thinking skills on the mathematical problem-solving ability of vocational school students. The study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational ex-post facto type. The research sample amounted to 93 grade XI students of SMK Negeri 1 Doloksanggul who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. The research instruments include mathematical connection tests, critical thinking tests, and problem-solving tests that have been validated and declared reliable. The data were analyzed through simple regression tests and multiple linear regression. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant influence of mathematical connection ability on problem-solving ability; there is a positive and significant influence of critical thinking skills on problem-solving skills; and these two variables simultaneously have a significant effect on problem-solving ability. The greatest contribution comes from the ability to think critically. These findings confirm the importance of strengthening mathematical connections and critical thinking in mathematics learning in vocational schools.
