Abstract

One of the dangerous diseases in pregnant women is hypertension. Hypertension is a cause of death for both mother and baby. Hypertension has no typical symptoms and signs as an early warning. In pregnancy with hypertension occurs when gestational age enters 20 weeks. This study aims to determine the factors associated with hypertension in pregnant women. Hypertension is a condition where the blood pressure of pregnant women is above more than 140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure above 90 mmHg. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional design. Independent variables are age, education, knowledge, ANC examination, and history of hypertension. While the dependent variable is Hypertension. The population is all pregnant women in the working area of the Ciruas health center, Serang Regency in 2023. The sample number of 100 people was selected by purposive random sampling. Statistical test using Chi square test with 95% CI. The results of statistical tests showed that age and education variables did not have a significant relationship with hypertension in pregnant women (p > 0.05), while knowledge variables with p = 0.002, ANC examination with p = 0.014, history of hypertension with p = 0.001, which means it has a significant relationship with hypertension in pregnant women in the working area of the Ciruas health center, Serang regency in 2024.  The largest OR value is in the knowledge variable OR=6.366.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the relationship between the effectiveness of "CERDIK" behavior (Health Check, Get Rid of Cigarette Smoke, Diligent Physical Activity, Balanced Diet, Get Enough Rest, and Manage Stress) in efforts to control hypertension in productive age in the Jombang Health Center Working Area of Cilegon City in 2023. The study used quantitative methods with descriptive, analytical and cross-sectional design types of research. The study population involved hypertensive patients of productive age recorded in the working area of the Jombang Health Center, Cilegon, with a total of 30 patients. Data collection was conducted through interviews and questionnaire filling. The p values of the independent t-test are 0.000, 0.000, 0.000, and 0.000, respectively for Education, Knowledge, Family Support, Eliminating Cigarette Smoke and Diligent Physical Activity. The results of statistical analysis show a relationship between these variables in respondents' behavior with hypertension control at productive age. There were significant differences in diastolic and systolic blood pressure between the group that underwent the "CERDIK" behavior and the group that did not. The group that adopted the "DODGY" behavior had lower blood pressure. The conclusion of this study is that "SMART" behavior has an important role in controlling hypertension in productive age. Therefore, health education resources and efforts need to be increased, especially in groups with less education, to increase awareness and application of "SMART" behaviors. This research contributes to understanding the importance of healthy behavior in controlling hypertension in productive age. The increasing prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia and its significant impact shows the urgency of increasing health awareness and education in the community.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of stress on blood glucose levels of hyperglycemic patients at Kunciran Baru Health Center area, Tangerang City in 2023. The research method used was quantitative with a nested case control research design. The samples used were 89 respondents who were selected by simple random sampling technique. Stress was measured using the Stress Self-Rating Questionnaire-20. The data were analyzed by T-test. The results showed an increase in the average of blood glucose levels from 2022 (mean 197.97; SD 87.96) to 2023 (mean 232.55; SD 93.04). Most respondents were not stressed (57.3%), the average blood glucose level of the stress group respondents was 274.26 (SD: 97.02), while the average blood glucose level of the non-stressed group was 201.47 (SD: 77.22). The results of the analysis showed a significant difference in blood glucose levels of the two groups of respondents (p value<0.001). The results of this study corroborated previous studies that showed stress as a factor that can affect blood glucose levels of DM sufferers and the stress management ability is important to have in order to maintain normal blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Background:The most important midwifery care in the delivery process is to apply the principle of "Dear Mother" namely respecting each other's culture, beliefs and desires of the mother and involving the husband and family. Non-pharmacological pain management can be carried out by most health care providers (doctors, nurses and midwives) who may also involve the mother's family, including back massage. Objective: Knowing the effect of back massage on labor pain during the first active phase in labor mothers Method: This research is a type of descriptive research with a quasy experimental research design with pretest posttest one group with the sample of this study namely mothers in the active phase of the first stage of labor who experience labor pain as many as 30 respondents. This sample was taken using a purposive sampling method with a measuring instrument, namely a numerical pain scale, an observation sheet with an ANOVA analysis test. Results: The results of this study show that there are differences in labor pain after back massage. There is a coercive effect between back massage and labor pain with a P value = 0.00 (<0.05), husband's assistance with labor pain with a P value = 0.03 while there is no significant effect between parity and labor pain with a P value = 0.07. Conclusion: There is an effect of back massage on labor pain in the first active phase of the birthing mother. Suggestion: it is hoped that more/frequent back massage techniques are performed to reduce labor pain during the first active phase according to SOP.
